hello,

quick post to say we had another ds at 4.07pm today - Toby Simon 8lb 5oz born at home, I never fancied the pool so much to dh's relief we left it in the box! he got a little stuck on the way out and I had a panic but mw's were ace and he arrived a few mins later, no tears no stitches

I hurt all over so off to bed (mum and dad have just come round and done tea - parents are fab aren't they!) only a little sad that they didn't bring ds1 as he is being sick but completely understand, don't think I could cope with that at the mo! will see him tomorrow

My milk has come in today and it's going EVERYWERE!! Really need more bf bras asap as the only one I have is now soaking!

Just updating the days developments, havn't you all been busy. The list of people due before me is slowly getting shorter, and more and more windows on my Advent calender are being opened, so I must be getting closed to having a baby... Cant wait.

congrats skidaddle and insy! if i have a birth experience like either of yours i will consider myself extremely lucky! Lovely to hear that big babies can come out without too much of an issue, too.

Well my contractions completely died out overnight. No show, no broken waters yet. Just BHs after all [sigh]. but bloody hell, no i am sitting up i am having the first of the day!

I had to laugh yesterday, there was a cartoon in one of the sunday papers which depicted a heavily PG woman with a picture of baby inside, sitting on the sofa, watching the telly and smoking a pipe. Seems about right!

lol bunny at the decorations- people keep saying to me- 'oh, the baby is just waiting for....' grr. And they also keep suggesting to me how to bring on labour. Honestly- do they think i am a moron and haven't heard of them all!

Hello everyone! How are we all?

I'm 40weeks today by LMP date and 39+1 by scan!

Had a quick count 15 boys and 11 girls!

Which lends a little credence to the theory that more boys are born at the beginning of the month! Will be interesting to see the final results at the end of the month!

Bouncing - we're due date buddies then (mine is today by scan).

Pecka and Macdoodle, reading lovely birth stories makes me really excited about having the baby but then in other senses I feel unready for the new arrival - I'm putting this down to nerves!

Had my first "is the baby here yet" phone call last night, can you believe it was from my Mum (who's had 8 kids so should know better).

Yes, it's now getting to the stage when I ring someone, first words out of my mouth are "No I'm still pg, baby not come yet".
Dh has just sent me the following email.

Morning all. Happy Due Dates Bouncing & Loucee, hopefully not too much longer for either of you.

Suey - So annoying that the contractions wore off, or in fact were just braxtons. I had exactly the same lot's of times last week and did the whole thinking of "is this it? Is this the start?" all for them to fade away hours later, even after being quite regular and reasonably painful.

Am 41 weeks today and have no MW appointment as couldn'tt get hold of her all last week and no one else could make me an appointment

that's terrible furry! I was peed off enough that they didn't do a clinic on a friday so i couldn't book in and have a sweep then

Shocking furry!

I was surprised that a friend, who is 38 weeks pg, hasn't been able to get an appointment for this week - she would have gone on 3 weeks without seeing a MW. She'll be 40 weeks before she next goes!

I was really annoyed last week but now I just feel like I couldn't care less, terrible attitude to have but am so exhauseted don't have the energy to be annoyed with anyone anymore. I rang everday last week leaving messages for her and it wasn't until Friday that the receptionist sid she was off on leave all week and that no one could make her appointments. I rang the community MWs office and left msg on answerphone but still not heard back, I give up I think. Will obviously try again today but it's hard enough even getting through to my doctors as it is. Sorry, moan moan, moan yet again. I'm not usually this miserable, honest

you have every right to moan! My team of MW have 24 hour access- it means you don't see the same MWs for appointments, but at least you can get hold of them and book appointments without any bother. I will be very interested to find out today though when they want to book my induction for! I will be very surprised if they want to book it for christmas eve, even though that would be hte hospital policy.

I just feel in limbo as not sure when appointment will be, if/when I'll be offered sweep or induction. My induction is booked for Christmas eve but MW said way back in early pregnancy that she doesn't think they will do it then and would probably want to bring me in a few days early. Seeing as Xmas Eve is in a weeks time I'm not sure when that might be or even if I'll go ahead with it or say I'd rather wait till after Boxing day. My head is in a muddle with all the different scenarios that could occur and with 2.5 DD I have to consider child care etc.

Suey if hospital want to tke you in before Xmas eve for induction will you do it do you think or would you rather wait a bit longer?

that is a really difficult question furry. After having the discussion with a registrar last week when he said that they cannot control the rate at which an induction is effective, i am tempted to hang on. However, with the possibility of the placenta losing its effectiveness after 42 weeks and the fact i know i am having a big baby, i don't think i will be tempted to go any longer than 42 weeks.
I am tall and very strong with childbearing hips and really feel i am made for giving birth IYKWIM. I wouldn't want to induce and find myself suddenly in full labour and out of control of teh situation, ending up with a c section. So i will leave it until christmas eve, but no longer

What a difficult position to be in Furry, no wonder you are anxious.
Does your Midwives have a drop in clinic where you could pop in and discuss your concerns? Mine does.

To be fair to my midwives they have been great - have had same one all through and she was the same I had with DD 6+ years ago...only had different one last week as mine was on holiday - was 38 weeks she said see you in 2 weeks at 40 weeks which is Boxing Day so she is seeing me this week as well....TBH I would have been happy to wait till after xmas as all seems well and no problems but at least they are making effort....am hoping no 2 will just pop out

I understand what you mean Suey. I don't want to go in Xmas Eve for induction (obviously if it happened naturally then I'd have no choice and that's fine) but I don't want to miss Xmas with DD if possible. At the same time I don't really want to go in to be induced too early. Will have to wait and see what MW says, if I ever get to see her

Bouncing - No I don't have a walk in clinic which is a shame.

I also have no complaints with my MW or my care apart form the fact at every appointment you have to wait at least 45 mins, sometimes over an hour but it was like that when I saw the same MW when expcting DD so I'm always well prepared for it. My hospital has been great and never hesitate to see me and I've been in a few times. It's just the last week when I've not been able to speak to anyone to get an appointment that has annoyed me. Have a terrible headache but am going attempt to ring MW again soon and see if I can get somewhere this time.
