hello!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Bouncingturtle · 16/12/2007 07:52

I'm predicting 2 babies born before end of the day!!

LOL - at "Hubby Sweep".

Dh and I did the deed yesterday, but TBH, was not fun. Uncomfortable and down right painful at times . It might be just the angle was all wrong, but worried that because it's been a while since we've been having sex on a regular basis it's a reoccurance of my old problem. Guess we'll try again but need to rethink positions!

Bouncingturtle · 16/12/2007 08:10

OOh I had lots of vivid dreams last night, including one where I'd had the baby and I was bfing it - it was nice

buzzybee · 16/12/2007 09:05

If not 3!! Fingers crossed for you guys.

Bouncing I agree if it wasn't for looming Xmas I think I'd be a lot more relaxed and just wanting to enjoy ML. But I guess its crazy to be getting so impatient at only 39 weeks

loucee · 16/12/2007 09:37

Good luck Insy, don't worry your feelings are normal and natural.

Ambi - hope your contractions are doing something, I'm sure they are and that you wont need the induction.

Bouncing - I'd say try a different position, I found it uncomfy the other day and felt very strange indeed but then after trying something else it was much nicer.

It's my due date tomorrow, but no signs of baby coming so I'll be making sure I have lots of hubby sweeps this week!

suey2 · 16/12/2007 10:45

morning all.
good luck insy and ambi!
felt very down when i woke up this morning, but lots of cuddles and a hubby sweep later, i felt purged. Such a beautiful day in London town- have been out for a walk and all is right with the world. Well, apart from the constipation, sore butt, headaches, swollen limbs, general disablement and, lets face it, no baby.
Have just about reconciled myself to a christmas day bambino (which would be +19 by LMP and + 15 by scan). Am happy with my decision not to push for an earlier induction, but will wait and see what the MW says tomorrow.

hello again girls. am now in hospital. had first prostin at 9.30, lovely pain kicking in now, so will take a walk and check in regularly to see if anyone has popped.

mellymooks · 16/12/2007 11:58

Hello, everyone, just quickly scanned through and can see that some more little ones have arrived, sorry but am so out of it I can't remember who has had what or when but Congratulations!!!!

I had a baby girl on Thursday evening!!!! 13/12/07 7lbs 3 She is called Kaesha Ophelia, it was a bit of a tough time and after 6 hours or so of being at home and in the birthing pool, our home birth had to be abandoned because of meconium in my waters, anyway things got tougher still but i'll save the full story for the childbirth section!! Am very tired but happy got home from hospital last night she is doing really well.
She is so beautiful, feeding and sleeping lots, gotta go now as am so so exhausted but incredibly happy and smitten at the same time!!
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Amani · 16/12/2007 12:11

Congratulations Melly . Make sure you rest and enjoy bonding with your baby.

Insy and Ambi - keep us informed about your progress. Another 2 babies pretty soon??!!!

Very quiet from Skid - hopefully she has had her baby.

Suey2 - keep it all up, hopefully something will do the trick.

Not up to much today, just more housework and been a general lazy so and so...

Lizzer · 16/12/2007 12:37

Congratulations Mellymooks! Welcome to the world Kaesha

Oooo, good luck Ambi -what a trooper posting from the hospital

Fingers crossed for you Insy too, hopefully be snuggled up with lo v v soon

Well I had the smallest bit of a show last night and nothing since, now wondering if I dreamed it but it was definitely there (not blood streaked though) Means nothing really though although I was quite excited and repacked my hospital bag.. Having an odd twinge but really nothing.

I'm with you Suey2, decided that a xmas day babe wouldn't be so bad (LMP 40+17,scan40+15) and glad I decided not to push for induction too. It'll be lovely to labour naturally (or know we did everything to help that happen) Anyway we've got over a week til xmas anyway.. We CAN do it!

Have a nice relaxing Sunday girls, 'speak' to you all tomorrow

BunnyBaby · 16/12/2007 12:53

Well "hubby-sweep" seemed to work, and have been awake since 4.30am with light contractions about every 8 minutes (insy - seeing similarities here).

I agree with bouncing that it isn't the most comfortable thing to do, hubby was gentle, but it does feel a lot more sensitive than usual. I'm sure it isn't a reoccurance of anything pre-preg bouncing, just probably big baby in that area making things a bit different.

I panicked that birth pool needed refilling, so we emptied, scrubbed and refilled from 5-7 then went back to bed for 3 hours. I'm still getting the contractions, constant period pain, up side of bump to top making me feel winded. Stomach so tight you can see baby outline and it feels rock hard.

However... as I've had warm ups for the last 3 weeks I'm not going to get excited until it gets painful, and I'll update when that happens..

Come on little Bunny.. we really are ready to meet you..

... Maybe he/she is holding on for us to put the "house bling" up

BunnyBaby · 16/12/2007 12:56

Congrats Mellymooks and well done!

Ambi - how exciting - looking forwards to news..c

HoHoHousemum · 16/12/2007 12:58

Hope this is it for you Bunny!

Congratualtions Mellymooks - I'll have a nose at your childbirth thread if I'm feeling brave...

Bouncing - your vivid dream sounds better than mine - I was in some kind of waiting room and Victoria Beckham poured a carton of custard over me so I had to go and change... weird....

FurryFox · 16/12/2007 15:45

Congratulations fifi, cazy and melly . Fantastic news, hope you're all settling in with your newborns

Insy - Hoping you have you're lo in your arms now or at least well on your way to holding them It seems like forever ago that we were on the ttc no2 thread together and now here we are about to have or had our babies, well you probably are, mines still keeping me waiting

Hope no news from Skid is good news

Ambi - So exciting, hope you're well on your way nw

Bunny - So exciting for you too Am awaiting news

Lizzer - My due date buddy, any more twinges/pains?

Hope everyone else is doing ok. I'll be a week late tomorrow and still no sign whatsover

suey2 · 16/12/2007 15:49

congrats melly! so glad you went spontaneously in the end, i know you didn't want to be induced.

good luck ambi- hope that the pain is under control.

yeay lizzer. sending you chill vibes, although it sounds like you don't need them.

have been having intermittent tightenings all afternoon- but until they get more painful or my waters break, i am going to ignore them. Too many false dawns. I don't have any low back pain yet, so we'll see. I am half convinced that i just had too much food- DH had cooked a delicious cassoulet and i had made some millionaire shortbread for our family get together.

furry x post- i am your due date buddy too

OP posts:
FurryFox · 16/12/2007 16:11

Suey - Lovely to have anohter due date buddy . My pregnancy brain hadn't even noticed before Hope your intermittent tightenings become regular and this is the start for you. I have also given up reading anything into the twinges and minor pains as I had lot's last week and they have all lead to nothing so have resigned myself to the fact that baby isn't coming anytime soon. Am feeling very sorry for myself today but really I should have no complaints so I will pick myself up...at some point Think me and DH might take DD for a walk in a while to try and tire her out and look at the Christmas lighs, you never know if might start something off

skidaddle · 16/12/2007 16:21

hi all, will quickly write this before trying to catch up with all your news...

Baby boy (still no name was finally born on Friday night at 9pm weighing 8lb9. Had 24 hours of contractions that didn't amount to much, went into hospital just to do something on Friday night at 8pm and he was born almost within an hour! The birth was amazing - no pain relief and could feel him coming out, only a tiny tear and no stitches.

He is absolutely beautiful and DD is besotted with him - might even give him a name soon...

looking forward to reading up on all your news

skid xx

BunnyBaby · 16/12/2007 16:28

Wow.. quite a few of us are now overdue..

Good luck girlies with the "hubby-sweeps", we'll try another tonight - my DH must really think it's Christmas - LOL!

Contractions have petered out again.. but still getting some intermittent ones - period pain stlll there. Will see if it all warms up again tonight.

My parents are like cats on a hot tin roof. They've been packed for yonks ready to come down when it all kicks off. We've had to move Christmas from Lancashire to London as baby gets later and later!

Poor DH is out on a ladder in the dark trying to put up my icicle lights at the front. Am convinced little bunny waiting for 'bling' to go up.

FurryFox · 16/12/2007 16:30

Yay congrats Skid, well done, all sounds lovely and pleased DD loves her baby brother already. Looking forward to hearing name and seeing pics when you get a chance. Well done again my lovely

mellymooks · 16/12/2007 16:47

Congrats Skid!!

Will get my man to post pics of Kaesha when we get chance, I know I'm biased but she's so beautiful I think I've spent the entire time staring at her since Thurs eve!!

loucee · 16/12/2007 17:00

Congratulations Melly and Skidaddle, really please for you girls that you've got your babies and hope everything is going well.

Ambi - most impressed with you logging on from hospital! Hope things are progressing well.

Bunny, ooh so the hubby sweeps are working, sounds like things are starting for you, fingers crossed.

Everyone who's overdue sounds really chilled out - good on you cos the stress wouldn't be any good to you or baby. I keep trying to tell myself the same thing!

Furry, also had same thoughts earlier when I took DD for a walk in her pram, I was pounding the path on the way back but didn't have any effect for me!

becklesparkle · 16/12/2007 17:18

Congrats to Melly and Skid! These babies are coming thick and fast now!

I've told mine that any day next week would be good but don't think s/he is listening! Mind you, DS2 now seems to have what DS1 had last week so its probably better if LO hangs in there a bit longer! I hate not knowing when baby will arrive and although I would love to meet him/her now I would feel more relaxed if I knew s/he wouldn't arrive on Christmas day.

Bouncingturtle · 16/12/2007 17:26

Congrats to Skid and Melly! Enjoy snuggling with your los
Fingers crossed for those of you getting significant twinges, especially you overdue ladies, hope things happen soon!

claireybabyboy · 16/12/2007 17:56

Congrats Skid and Melly!

Do any of you still waiting want an almost full bottle of raspberry leaf capsules? Only had a couple out of it before Douggie arrived-afraid it is open but promise the contents are what they say they are!

vnmum · 16/12/2007 19:53

insy - yes DD has a name, Caitlin louise.
bouncingturtle - they had suspicions that the baby could have been bigger than DS at term as i was consistently measuring larger but the main reason for the induction was the increasing severity of my SPD pain and that i was struggling to manage my toddler aswell as sometimes hardly being able to walk.
