Hello

OP posts:
VictorianSqualor · 02/01/2008 15:33

I'll be 27 next week.

TLSM · 02/01/2008 15:33

lol VS mine is 35 see I knew about 10 years between them!

PeachyHasAFiggyPudInTheOven · 02/01/2008 15:35

Dh is 36

What does he do? Main job is a traffic planner for what used to be TNT, but he is also building a business doing light stuff for DJ's etc- and planning on a stage lighting degree after I graduate. this sort of thing is his hobby, 100ft of lighting technicalities! I can do the basics now but that's about my limit, he can do the whole animatronic thing and frequently does in my kitchen

scorpio1 · 02/01/2008 15:35

oh vs thats fine!

TLSM · 02/01/2008 15:36

I know what you mean Ellie, Ayomi I went out with a ski instructor for a while he was super fit and ohhhh but made me feel like a right fatter and was the slimest I have ever been!

VictorianSqualor · 02/01/2008 15:37

Funny thing is though he is younger than me, and all my ex's were around 5 years older, he is the most sensible mature person I have ever met. Also makes me feel the most secure.

EllieG · 02/01/2008 15:38

That means mine is the oldest! Mind you, as I always tell him when he is pretending to be wise, his mental age is far lower than mine.

Eek didn't see the time have to go get a bed delivered bollocks speak tomorrow or later

TLSM · 02/01/2008 15:39

gosh peachy thats cool my DH is a company Director (owners half a printing company) has a first in Business studies and french took Maths and extra Maths at A level but my iq is higher his is 33 mine is 35 and i make sure he doesnt forget those two points!

Ayomi · 02/01/2008 15:40

Mine has the personality of a 12 year old at times tho. When i asked him what he wanted for xmas all he could say was "good toys and stuff to take apart". heh Good to be young at heart

PeachyHasAFiggyPudInTheOven · 02/01/2008 15:42

Er- I rpesume 133?

Mine is higher than Dh as well BUT he's really good at different stuff- he's dyslexic soc an't write for buggery but I can spin you an essay on whatever in ten minutes; Dh is the techie. It kinda balances

scorpio1 · 02/01/2008 15:42

mine said something to play with as well!

VictorianSqualor · 02/01/2008 15:43

Lol Aymoi, I often lose DP to find him playing in DS's room, with the lego.

Last night he was eating the last of the guiylan chocs and they have like a see-through bit in the lid. I watched him putting it right up to his chin and opening it so he could see through the see through bit, and getting really into this choc box, pulling at the pieces of card to see if they seperated and allsorts. He did it for a good five minutes before he realised he was being watched and stopped.

scorpio1 · 02/01/2008 15:44

i have caught mine laughing at lazy town and watching it in our room whilst getting changed!

PeachyHasAFiggyPudInTheOven · 02/01/2008 15:47

We have a cottage that fronts right onto the road, and alst night there were teenagers looking in watching DH play his Wii games in hysterics LOL!

Kids also get more help than needed with their k'nex and lego, indeed I don't think DS2 had any input whatsoever into the K'nex rollercoaster that ahs been clogging my living room for a week now......

Ayomi · 02/01/2008 15:49

PMSL vs! so loud in fact I've just woken the cat who is scowling at me ominously

DP would like a son (has 3 dd's) - his reason? pirate toys and things with lots of batteries to play with!
We have a space under the coffee table for all his 'inventions' including a bow and arrow set make from kebeb skewers and a put noodle trumpet attached to a dictaphone for hearing the baby! (hasn't been tested yet!)
God bless em eh?

EllieG · 02/01/2008 18:27

Swweeeet! Am laughing muchly now - my DP is a bit of a geek too, bless his little heart, I wouldn't have him any other way. He's much much more practical than me, so is very useful that he can fix things cos I can't for toffee.

Have gone a whole day without chocolate now. AND biscuits. AND cake.

However, home is a dangerous place at the moment so I may not last. Wish me luck!

PeachyHasAFiggyPudInTheOven · 02/01/2008 19:06

Erm Ayomi

ditch the kabab thing before baby is a-toddling LOL

Fleecy · 02/01/2008 19:17

I think my DH could be a contender for the geek trophy - he's an accountant and a sci-fi fan.

He's also six foot, handsome and trim . I used to be trim too but two babies in two years is rapidly putting an end to all that. I've put on over a stone already. Can't be worrying about it though - too much else to be getting on with .

Ayomi · 02/01/2008 19:20

peachy - don't worry
dp aware he's gonna have to build a shed or something for his bits and bobs.
Start sorting house this week

EllieG · 02/01/2008 19:49

I've gone all nesty and keep tidying cupboards. Have completely done DSD's room (cleaned and sorted scary toy cupboard which was very brave of me) and this weekend am going to pack up xmas decs and start sorting our room, which is where baby will be for starters. Have just bought canvas shelving unit thing off ebay for baby stuff - am very pleased with self cos it's the one I liked from Littlewoods direct, but they wouldn't deliver to Channel Islands and is cheaper! Simple pleasures eh?

Question - do I need a changing unit? Don't have much space/funds so would rather not if not desperately needed. Don't want to bugger my back up though either.

Am starting nagging DP re painting this weekend too, as it will take a few nags before he gets round to it.

scorpio1 · 02/01/2008 19:50

no to changing unit, i have never had one. changing mat whilst sitting on floor is fine. changing mats are about a fiver!

Fleecy · 02/01/2008 20:00

We got a changing table free with the cot when we had DD1 - we found the shelves useful but just put cuddly toys on the top and never once used it for changing a nappy.

Agree with Scorpio's changing mat on the floor. When DD was tiny, I used to pop the mat on our bed or on the sofa and do it there - easy on the back.

I've just been looking at the March thread too. Scary to think she was only 29+5 when she had her girls which isn't that much further along than us!

EllieG · 02/01/2008 20:01

Hoo-rah, cos couldn't find a cheap one and seemed like quite a big and not-useful thing to spend money on. Keep meaning to start buying things I need like muslins and clothes but I keep stopping cos I'm afraid I'll get it wrong!

VictorianSqualor · 02/01/2008 20:03

I've always changed babies on my lap, laying across my legs, head on my knees toes near my unmentionables.
Peachy sunds like something confucius would say

PeachyHasAFiggyPudInTheOven · 02/01/2008 20:28

Ah we did Ocnfucius in year one- glad to know something sunk in LOL
