@HopefulB I just don't understand why they plus 4, it's madness isn't it ! Yay 2 days left now until mat leave ?

PurplePansy05 · 02/08/2021 19:56

@Ava50x You never know, your little one may come sooner! In any event, within the next 4 weeks it's likely we'll all join the party 😊 xx

PurplePansy05 · 02/08/2021 19:57

(and there's no birth club better than us, obvs! 😆🥳) xx

RandomCatGenerator · 02/08/2021 20:08

Wise words @PurplePansy05

BertieBotts · 02/08/2021 20:22

I wondered why my amazon parcel didn't arrive today - apparently it got damaged and is being automatically returned! I guess that's a sign not to bother with the colostrum harvesting then :o

WinterBabyof89 · 02/08/2021 20:23

@Ava50x I think there’s just a flurry of babies at the moment. I remember being a part of a July thread on another Pregnancy forum when I had my 2014 baby, I was due on 20th and went 5 days over with everyone popping babies out before me - it felt like forever!
Your reflexology sessions sound lovely

sarah13xx · 02/08/2021 20:33

@BertieBotts oh well, you can say you tried 🤣 I think I’ve packed it in already!

sarah13xx · 02/08/2021 20:34

@PurplePansy05 not sure if they have the annual leave issue at my hospital but I’m dreading mine getting pushed back because they’re too busy. Turning up to sit around all day starving and terrified to be told it’s not happening that day would be awful 🙈 I feel like if anyone’s last on the list though it will be me

Ava50x · 02/08/2021 20:56

@PurplePansy05 @WinterBabyof89 thanks for the encouragement! And this is definitely the best birth club so thanks everyone for the support throughout:)

Whatshouldbemyusername · 02/08/2021 21:08

@Ava50x I'm due 22nd so quit close to you as well and I've got my reflexology session booked for Wednesday too. I've got a haircut and a bikini wax booked for tomorrow (hoping the wax at 37 weeks isn't the stupidest thing I've done 🤦🏽‍♀️🤣).

Aaaaa1519 · 02/08/2021 21:33

Logged onto here today to see if anyone else is popping and we’ve got 2 new arrivals coming hopefully. How exciting. Hope all goes quick and well @Dia12 @Winecoffeeteamum

Aaaaa1519 · 02/08/2021 21:39

So this past week I’ve gotten through half a big box of dates, I’ve tried saffron in hot milk (myth) sniffing clary sage oil (did nothing apart from slight headache) and cress seeds which my cousin swears got her labour going with both babies
I’ve carried heavy things up & down 2 flights off stairs, lots of walks and cleaned like a mad woman. This baby does not want to budge at all lol
On a brighter note had some luck with colostrum today so thank you to whoever mentioned hot shower first it did the trick 😊

Winecoffeeteamum · 02/08/2021 21:41

I've been sent home only couple of centimetres dilated back up first thing tomorrow to be induced. Need some food hot shower and bed 💤

sarah13xx · 02/08/2021 22:20

@Aaaaa1519 what day was this of you attempting the colostrum harvesting? How much did you get? I did better yesterday then could barely get anything today 🤦🏼‍♀️

sarah13xx · 02/08/2021 22:21

@Winecoffeeteamum good luck tomorrow, hope you manage to get some sleep 😴

Aaaaa1519 · 02/08/2021 22:51

@sarah13xx this is day 3 no luck at all first 2 times I tried. I only got a few drops today but because I was in the shower they got wasted away

Inmypjsagain · 03/08/2021 01:20

Thank you for well wishes, I am reading through thread now while typing one hand holding baby boy He arrived yesterday and sweeter than I could have thought.

C section was good but weird, epidural you feel as an unpleasant pressure. You do feel weird pressure and pumping. Your legs go warm and tingly! I was not prepared for the sweats- take bottles of water with you. The blood! I’m not in knickers at the moment but on a pad, I’m going to need about 22 for the ride home. I’ve also decided I’m wearing a dress home as no idea how I’ll bend to put my joggers on. Take spare hair ties, I’ve lost 4 somehow! Baby needed a nappy and a hat for the section.

Breast feeding not going to plan, he’s totally uninterested in the boob!

Just thought I’d say that as my immediate post c section thoughts. I’m sorry for not contributing to the convo, I hope to post as normal when home but best of luck to everyone with c sections and broken waters! Look forward to hearing about everyones arrivals!

Inmypjsagain · 03/08/2021 02:13

Also I’m not wearing my bought nighties, I would just bleed through them, am still wearing the gown
Supplied for me and can’t imagine wearing my own, they’d be ruined, I’ve actually just ordered some disposable pad bedsheets things from boots www.boots.com/boots-pharmaceuticals-staydry-disposable-bed-pads-12-pack-10129944

WinterBabyof89 · 03/08/2021 02:51

@Inmypjsagain congratulations!
Hope he comes round to the boob for you. And that the bleeding slows down!
Thanks for the heads up on the aftermath as well.

I’m in for my section today and now the nerves/excitement have kicked in. Woke up to pee and can’t get back to sleep! Last 4 hour stretch of sleep I may have in a while haha

sarah13xx · 03/08/2021 04:45

@Inmypjsagain congratulations 😊 how amazing you now have your little one!

That’s good to know about the c-section. I’m sure the blood will calm down quite quickly, fingers crossed. I’m having a spinal on its own but I presume they all feel similar. It’s probably one of those things you can’t describe until it’s happened to you 🙈 how long did it take to get in? Was the local anesthetic injection before it just like a quick normal injection? For some reason the spinal is the big thing I’m worrying about and I just can’t wait til it’s over with. Some people seem to feel it though and others don’t, probably due to where it is!

@WinterBabyof89 good luck today 😬 it will all be over before you know it and you’ll have your little one with you. I’m sure the build up is the worst part

Inmypjsagain · 03/08/2021 05:19

@WinterBabyof89 exciting!!! It will be absolutely fine but I wish you all the best. It was more clinical than I expected though but I don’t think that’s a bad thing. If you have a fan do take it because I’m honestly surprised how hot I am!! Good luck and enjoy the cuddles xxxx

@sarah13xx thank you! It’s hard to gauge time because it all kinda happens in a blur.
The anaesthetic felt less than normal injection of I’m honest, like a little scratch like the flu jab.
(Nowhere near as horrid as the anti d if you get that!) But you definitely feel the pressure of the spinal, it doesn’t hurt but it is uncomfortable IMO, it’s almost like a cold sicky feeling of pressure but so hard to describe. I don’t think that could Have taken more than 5 minutes. Then your bum goes warm and legs go tingly And the next thing you know you’re being manoeuvred because you cant feel your legs!! Then The op is what I imagine dough being kneaded lightly felt like.

I was really worried for the spinal too but honestly the cannula insertion was much worse, so I think once you’ve done that I personally think you’ve done the worst bit.

A few more hours on and my stomach is itchy and I can’t lean forward but I’m gonna have to try and walk around today! (And not expose too much bum, really don’t know how I’m going to get pants on!)

Or I can think of anything else that’s handy I’ll let
You know!

sarah13xx · 03/08/2021 05:26

@Inmypjsagain yes I get the anti-d so I can cope if it’s less than that. I’ve never had a cannula so no idea what it feels like but that’s the only major bit I’m worrying about 😂 I need to try and just think past that though. I’m not the type of scared person who makes a big scene, il just go silent and take it so itl be over with at least. Good luck with the standing up today! I had seen on here that side fastening nappies were good so you didn’t have to bend down and pull up pants because I can imagine that would be really hard the first day or two but most people on here said pants were fine so I haven’t ordered any. The first few days are bound to be rough. Just try to rest as much as you can and just think, by the time I’m going in for mine next week you’ll probably be walking about feeling a million times better 😊

Mummywantsaweewee · 03/08/2021 05:29

@Inmypjsagain congratulations!
I’ve always wondered what a spinal would feel like and also a section!

Been awake last few hours with menstrual cramps. Not contractions yet but uncomfortable enough to keep me awake. Just wondering now if it will lead to Labour or if the cramps will disappear. Last time I had real contractions which stopped after a couple hours, only to restart 24hrs later which continued to full blown Labour.

K2a0t1i5e · 03/08/2021 05:50

So lovely to start to hear about the births and labour stories. I love the advise and tips from section Ladies to ease our minds that are booked in. Thank you. My biggest worry is going home with no pain relief, can anyone advise what they have been sent gone on and if this was enough. I've been told we get sent home with nothing 24hrs after the surgery and expected to come off paracetamol and ibuprofen?

Whatshouldbemyusername · 03/08/2021 06:19

@Inmypjsagain congratulations darling. Am sure baby boy is perfect! Baby boy will come around to feeding from boob am sure. Thank you for your delivery message. Try get some rest x

@WinterBabyof89 all the best babe. Hope you got some sleep. Looking forward to hearing from you re baby's birth whenever you're ready x
