Congratulations to all those who’s babies have arrived and good luck to all having sections / inductions this week. How exciting! You’ve got this ladies 💪🏻

@Ava50x I’m the same due date as yourself and it feels ages off! This is my first so fully expecting to be late however similar to @Mummywantsaweewee I’ve woken in the night to uncomfortable pains and some quite strong ‘tightenings’ as I have nothing to compare to I’m not sure whether it’s the start or just braxton hicks.

I didn’t feel any ‘tightenings’ last week when I was on the CTG but it showed them quite strong apparently.

MrsB2019x · 03/08/2021 08:44

Ooh lots to catch up on!

Best of luck to you all @Dia12 @Winecoffeeteamum and @WinterBabyof89 🥰 can’t believe how many of us will be holding our squishy newborns this week!

Congratulations @Inmypjsagain 💙 Thanks for the messages post section they’re really helpful!

Hope everyone else is doing well and not too fed up. I’m feeling so conflicted emotionally atm, I’m constantly sleeping like crap because I have a touch of SPD now, and little lady loves getting all up in my ribs in bed 😂 but I know I’m on a single figure countdown to not being pregnant anymore and that’s making me quite sad! Anyone else feel like this?

Mummywantsaweewee · 03/08/2021 09:08

@MrsB2019x I feel sad too, especially as I don’t plan on having a third baby so it’s weird to think I’ll not feel kicks again!
I actually felt so so sad after having ds1. I really missed having him inside me even though I was also happy to be holding him finally, you spend nearly a year with them inside you and the movements are so comforting and then suddenly you feel empty! It passed quickly though Smile

WinterBabyof89 · 03/08/2021 09:21

Thanks Ladies.. I’m 3rd on the list so likely be dinner time.

Yes @MrsB2019x ! My OH took a photo of me before I put on the lovely gown as a momento to my last ever pregnancy.
It can be bittersweet the final stages of pregnancy!

Daffodil21 · 03/08/2021 09:23

Congratulations @Inmypjsagain!! Thanks also for the CS info. I think I had underestimated how much bleeding there would be. I knew there'd be a lot, but I didn't expect bleeding through clothes levels 🙈 hopefully it won't last too long! Are you managing to get out of bed etc ok?

@WinterBabyof89 hope all goes well!! Update us when you can!

sarah13xx · 03/08/2021 09:34

The whole end of pregnancy thing is making me quite emotional 🙈 so strange that you already know this little person better than anyone else because they’ve came everywhere with you for 9 months and now you finally get to meet them. I’ve had a good pregnancy and will really miss my bump, although I can’t wait to see my baby instead! ❤️

WolfMother326 · 03/08/2021 09:41

Congratulations @Inmypjsagain - I hope the bleeding slows down for you, that sounds really rough, and hope they're taking good care of you! I've read that a lot of babies are just so sleepy in the first 24 hours that they don't think about the boob much til they've had a good snooze.

Good luck to everyone else going in for sections, or with recently broken waters! I'm 38 weeks today and still feeling like it's all quite far off, but who knows...

Ava50x · 03/08/2021 10:56

@Inmypjsagain huge congratulations! So happy your baby has arrived!! Hope you're feeling OK and that the bleeding soon settles.

BTW for those concerned about the level of bleeding, i've never had such an experience. Of course everyone is different but you won't necessarily bleed all that much...

@Fran919 thanks, glad i've got a due date buddy! Although sounds like things could be moving for you quite soon??

@Whatshouldbemyusername that sounds lovely, enjoy your reflexology session. I'm really looking forward to mine!

I'm finding it hard to believe the babies are all arriving now... Its like we've been talking for months but somehow when they're all arriving it doesn't seem real!! But definitely glad to be on for this stage now...

@PurplePansy05 hope everything's OK with you!

Daffodil21 · 03/08/2021 11:07

@Ava50x good to know about the bleeding. Will plan for the worst but hope it won't be...!

The owner left some bread and milk in the air bnb. The milk expires on my due date (12th). Didn't freak me out at all 😂😂

@Dia12 and @Winecoffeeteamum hope all goes well today for you both!

@Inmypjsagain congratulations!! Hope your feeling a little better today, I remember all too well the feeling of the pushing and tugging which I really didn’t expect! Hope the bleeding slows down for you as well, it did with me. I was advised when trying to BF to undress the baby completely to wake them up ready to feel as they are super sleepy in the beginning, maybe that might help?

Daffodil21 · 03/08/2021 11:22

How long is it roughly from epidural to surgery being over?

OP posts:
Dia12 · 03/08/2021 11:33

Massive congrats @Inmypjsagain on the safe arrival of your little boy 🥰🥰 hope you have a quick and recovery too.

Good luck @WinterBabyof89 for your csection today, look forward to reading update about your little one.

Thank you everyone for well wishes. I was naive in thinking waters breaking would avoid induction! I'm still waiting for contractions. I had some cramping last night but then absolutely nothing. Hospital is keen on getting me induced. Given me till this afternoon and then I'll just have to suck it up and get on the drip.

Currently trying to bounce this baby out of me on a birthing ball!!! Going through loads of pads and clothes as the amniotic fluid periodically gushes out.

Good luck @Winecoffeeteamum hope everything goes smoothly for you.

RunnerGirl123 · 03/08/2021 12:47

Good luck to those of you being induced and who's waters have gone. It's so crazy how close we all are now!

Just had my 39 week Midwife Appointment where I was expecting a stretch and sweep, but the consultant didn't write it down in my notes so they were unable to do it (normally it would be fine but due to covid they can only do them at 40+3 onwards at the moment unless they have it written in the notes). Feel a little disappointed as I was hoping it would help kick-start labour more naturally than the induction next weds. Baby is really low, and I've been losing bits of my plug for weeks but I just have a feeling we'll still be waiting come Wednesday. I chose to be induced at 40 weeks, as I know my anxiety will just get worse the longer I go following our history, so I'm not complaining but can't help feeling gutted!

She did say to walk lots, walk sideways up and down stairs, bounce on the ball, eating spicy curry / food, pineapple and that we could try sex... so just going to see what I can do in the next week to help. In regards to sex, she said it's something in the sperm that softens the cervix, so after you've finished, pop a rolled towel under your bum and lay there for around 10 mins to let the sperm do its thing. It wasn't something I knew, so thought I'd share it here for those trying to kick-start labour!!

Jessicapebbles · 03/08/2021 14:12

Hi ladies!!

Congratulations to all of you with babies who have been born over the weekend! Massive thank you again to everyone for the well wishes. Good luck to those of you currently in labour. We’re still living our newborn bubble and Ebony has been an absolute dream. Not sure if I fully updated people on our section experience but I was quite nervous having all the wires and tubes put in but once we were going and Ebs arrived it all got good! We were back home before she was 24 hours old. Recovery is going well although I’ve been a bit quiet as I have a kidney infection which has been more painful than section recovery!

Picture of Ebony this morning 💖

@Jessicapebbles she’s gorgeous, glad it all went so well ☺️❤️

MrsB2019x · 03/08/2021 14:27

Congratulations @Jessicapebbles! What gorgeous girls you have 🥰

Whatshouldbemyusername · 03/08/2021 14:39

@Jessicapebbles aaaaw. Congratulations once again. Both your girls are absolutely gorgeous ❤️❤️. Hope you recover/ed well. Do Take care of your beautiful self x

WinterBabyof89 · 03/08/2021 15:05

@Dia12 hope the bouncing helped! But if you are induced hoping it works quickly :)

@RunnerGirl123 that is disappointing. Sounds like you have lots to go at to bring it on haha

@Jessicapebbles what gorgeous photos! The kidney infection sounds painful, coupled with the pain of a section as well! Good to know about potential discharge time too.

Baby Rosie arrived this morning at 11:19 weighing 6lbs 7ozs. She’s perfect 😍
We had the curtain down, skin to skin (where she peed on me straight away), OH cut the cord. It was a world away from my previous two EMCS. I’ve just got low blood pressure but other than that all is going well.

Thanks for the well wishes ladies.
Best of luck to anybody going in today and may the babies keep arriving! Exciting times xx

Daffodil21 · 03/08/2021 15:10

@WinterBabyof89 huge congratulations! Wow, curtain down?! You're a braver woman than me!!

Absolutely lovely photos @Jessicapebbles 🥰

OP posts:
WinterBabyof89 · 03/08/2021 15:28

@Daffodil21 you couldn’t actually see much as the bump covers it and you’re lay flat. Once baby is out they put it up but the curtain is very in front of your face so preferred it down even if I couldn’t see much ha

sarah13xx · 03/08/2021 15:34

@WinterBabyof89 aww huge congratulations on Rosie 😊 was it a pleasant experience would you say? What was the sorest bit and how bad? 🙈

Ava50x · 03/08/2021 15:36

@WinterBabyof89 congrats on the safe arrival of baby Rosie! Sounds like you had a really peaceful C-section, so happy for you! Enjoy the newborn cuddles.

@Jessicapebbles such little beauties. Thanks for sharing! Sorry about the kidney infection, hope it clears up real quick and you feel better xx.

BertieBotts · 03/08/2021 16:29

@Daffodil21

How long is it roughly from epidural to surgery being over?
I've just seen this on a birth programme - they said about half an hour.
lucyrp · 03/08/2021 16:39

@Jessicapebbles aww she's adorable! Congratulations 🥰🥰

@RunnerGirl123 I won't be allowed a sweep until my 41 week appointment and this is my second baby and measuring big which I thought was mad 😬

@WinterBabyof89 congratulations to you too!

sarah13xx · 03/08/2021 16:46

@Daffodil21 on the class I went to for my hospital with a nurse who works in theatre she said the spinal part takes about 5/10 minutes then lying down and getting checked you’re numb can be up to 15 minutes. From the start of the op to seeing baby is 5/10 minutes usually and then 40 minutes to close you up if everything’s gone okay
