Oh bloody hell, waters have just broken! Flooded kitchen floor but no accompanying pain.
See you on the other side ladies. Good luck for all those going in this week x

lucyrp · 02/08/2021 14:01

@Dia12 jealous! Hopefully stuff gets going for you pretty quick ! X

notinthestarsigns · 02/08/2021 14:08

HI ladies, sorry I’ve not posted lately, we finally moved house on Thursday so it has been a little crazy! I’ve just had a scan to see if baby is still breech which she is. I was due to be induced next Tuesday (and that date has been booked in since 31 weeks) but now it seems it will be a c section next week instead. I have just been sent back to the waiting room and told the wait could be a while, not entirely sure what I’m waiting for, I’m hoping to see a doctor to discuss what’s happening now! If any of you who are having c sections are able to share any tips/anything to take in your hospital bag specific to c section or anything like that I would be really grateful. Even though I knew this was a possibility the change in plan at this late stage has thrown me a little bit!

WinterBabyof89 · 02/08/2021 14:24

Hope all goes well @Dia12 and labour starts soon :)

biscuitcat · 02/08/2021 14:28

@Dia12 exciting for you!! Good luck, and enjoy meeting your little one soon 🥰 xx

Ready2020 · 02/08/2021 14:43

Aahhh good luck @Dia12

BertieBotts · 02/08/2021 14:43

Ooh exciting Dia12!!

Daffodil21 · 02/08/2021 14:53

Good luck @Dia12 !

@notinthestarsigns nice to hear from you again :) sorry your baby is still breach. I am also having a CS (but entirely my choice so not the same!). As far as I can gather, essentials include large and high waisted knickers, peppermint tea/oil for post surgery trapped wind and make sure nothing sits on your bikini line in terms of underwear/trousers etc.

I made it to the Airbnb! All in now and less than 10 min drive to the hosp! I am so f*g pleased!!!!!!! All the way driving here I was just so so thankful I was not in labour!

Hope everyone is doing ok x

All the best ladies to all those having babies this week. It's 6 and I can't wait to hear the good news ❤️

@WolfMother326 yay it's your last working day! Woop!

@Dia12 ooh exciting. All the best mama and may you have a smooth labour x

Magik01 · 02/08/2021 15:18

How exciting @Dia12 I hope you don’t have to wait too long for the arrival!!

@notinthestarsigns I would say peppermint capsules/tea for trapped wind. Also arnica tablets I find are good for the bruising as well. Other than that, what has already been said- massive pants! And night dresses (I find button down ones best for possible breastfeeding if your going down that route). Other than that I think a lot you have probably already packed!

@Daffodil21 so glad your there and able to relax a little bit and not stress about being so far away! I hope it’s a nice air b&b for you!

Winecoffeeteamum · 02/08/2021 15:19

Hi ladies my waters broke I'm waiting to be seen in maternity assessment think my little lady maybe trying to make a 3 week early appearance. Hope everyone is doing well all the mamas are enjoying cuddles with their early arrivals ❤

BertieBotts · 02/08/2021 15:27

Ooh another one! How exciting :)

lucyrp · 02/08/2021 15:59

@Winecoffeeteamum @Dia12 Anything you did that would have made your waters go ? Accepting any tips 😜

BertieBotts · 02/08/2021 16:00

Dunno about Wine and Dia but when mine went with DS2 I was asleep :o So I recommend sleeping!

Winecoffeeteamum · 02/08/2021 16:14

@lucyrp had a catch up with my 2 oldest friends yday went to bed with sore hips lower back, couldn't get up this morning so tired rolled over and movie scene water breaking. Maybe a catch up giggles and sleep 💤

lucyrp · 02/08/2021 16:19

@BertieBotts yeah mine either went in the evening or when I was asleep I can't remember ! Didn't have the gush though it was just little trickles for me that felt like I was weeing myself constantly !
I have thought I should probably start carrying a pair of bigger pants around with me in my bag and w couple of maternity pads incase they go when I'm not at home ! I don't think a thong would be great with waters trickling out of me😂

notinthestarsigns · 02/08/2021 16:29

Thanks @Magik01 and @Daffodil21. I’m finally home after several hours hanging around at the hospital this afternoon. All the slots for c sections next week are full so just got to wait for a call now to see when they can fit me in. All a bit stressful as felt like I was in control when I had a date and a plan and now feels like the opposite but I should really know by now that you can’t plan anything when it comes to babies!

sarah13xx · 02/08/2021 16:54

@Dia12 no, people know my due date but not my c-section date. I think because it’s my first it’s been quite easy to hide it, don’t need to worry about arranging childcare or anything so haven’t even told my parents the date. They have a rough idea itl be in the 39th week though and most likely not a weekend so that narrows it done a fair bit 😂

sarah13xx · 02/08/2021 16:55

@notinthestarsigns oh no 🤦🏼‍♀️ The same thing happened to my friend but she managed to get a slot. I think there was 15 people booked in during the week so the chances of 1 in 15 going before their date is probably reasonably high

PurplePansy05 · 02/08/2021 17:32

Yes, it's the same here, hospital is busy and consultants are on annual leave, accrued during the pandemic so have to use it up. That's why I'm cautious about being certain of the date and I haven't told many people either, only 2 people know the date, the rest knows thd EDD. Last thing I'd want is hundreds of texts when I'm recovering in a hospital bed.

My consultant was furious when she was booking me in 3 weeks ago, there were no spaces then, so no wonder you're struggling a week before @notinthestarsigns. However, it's likely that some babies will appear sooner, so I'd just keep nagging if I were you, as in remind them daily you're waiting for your date! xx

notinthestarsigns · 02/08/2021 18:03

Thanks @PurplePansy05. The Maternity Day Unit said to call them if I haven’t heard anything by Wednesday so hopefully will hear something soon. There wasn’t a consultant to run the breech clinic today because they were all on annual leave apparently 🤦‍♀️

BertieBotts · 02/08/2021 18:35

Yes this annual leave problem is one I had last year as well. It's bizarre - you'd think they would stagger the holidays? I mean I assume they must to some extent but it does seem to leave them short which is a bit alarming!

BertieBotts · 02/08/2021 18:36

Not last year - last time when I was due in August.

Ava50x · 02/08/2021 18:37

So exciting @Dia12 @Winecoffeeteamum! Hope everything's going well for you and things are progressing!

I feel that because I am due on the 25th and everyone will probably have had their babies long before me, i should perhaps have joined the September thread?? Don't like being a latecomer to the party!!

I have my first reflexology session booked for Wednesday when I'll be exactly 37 weeks. Hopefully will help my body prepare for labour. I am so ready to get this baby out...

HopefulB · 02/08/2021 18:50

Oooh! Lots happening!!

Fingers crossed for those who’s waters have popped or have sections/inductions planned this week!

Re bras I’ve been aware of 2 pretty distinct methods of measuring for years, and have generally stuck to making sure I know which method a particular brand recommend otherwise it all goes wrong! M & S seem to start from band + 3 or 4” then cup size dependent on difference, BOB and some brands go for measure your band and the difference.

Another day ticked off at work ✅
