Thanks for lovely comments.

Mana have a lovely chrimbo.

Blue and merly- have been on temazepam and pain killers for ages cos fibroid gives me gip at night, had loads of angst over taking them and effect on LO but doc (both GP and at hosp) said it's ok, it's better to be getting some sleep and be less stressed than it is to struggle on. Both meds are used on antenatal wards so it must be ok. Love the camel image, dd2 calls me sally the camel (from 'sally the camel has two humps' children's song cos fibroid sticks out of the side of my bump!). Sexy is a long forgotten word in our house!

dd2 and dh have colds so too so am keeping away from both of them! I think if i got one as well that would finish me off - i'd be in the corner swaying and gibbering (well, more than normal anyway)

Hope you and yours a bit better now merly.

Hooray last day of work before christmas then only 7 to go!!!!!
So... a friend gave me some perineum massage oil as a christmas present! DP of course didn't have a clue what (& where) it was for (bless). Is anyone else indulging in any massage of that area??
Well I may be a fairly infrequent visitor over the next couple of weeks, so Happy cChristmas everyone and hopefully there won't be any unexpected christmas presents for any of us!

ruva · 21/12/2007 12:41

Hi all,
gill79 taliking of that area my french friend did not know what the area was in english so she said don't forget to touch yourself with oil or you will tear. (Laugh) So when do we start massaging? i am in a bad mood as my cleaner did not turn up and the window company wanted £200 to cleam my windows- don't feel like buying presents after my mil called me an extravagant cow last year ( she left a voice message by mistake on my phone she thought she had put the phone done and was recorded for a good five minutes, talking to her dp when i asked her she said i had to be diplomatic about it.

Pk616 · 21/12/2007 13:31

I'm a bit shaken up, my cat's just come home drowning in engine oil and I had to take him to the vets and the house stinks of oil and I got so flustered by the whole things I think I brought on braxton hicks. Not good when trying to drive a distressed cat to vets!
Now I've got that off my chest I can go and have a look at what you've all been talking about today!

ha ha ha brilliant Ruva. In a similar vein of those things you're always nervous of doing with your phone here's something to cheer your Fridays: my little bro was very ill last week with a fever and didn't phone into work, so his boss called him and gave him an ear-bashing as he lay in his sick-bed. After the call bro tried to text one of his friends describing how his boss was a "Flipping Fanjo" in MN language- I'm sure you can guess the original translation. Except - of course - you can guess who the text message actually went to. Well miraculously he is still employed although he did receive the legal minimum for a week's sick pay - £39!!!

Start touching yourself two months before the birth Ruva

Gill79 · 21/12/2007 13:35

How on earth did that happen Pk?

Pk616 · 21/12/2007 13:36

actually no, I've gotta try and get rid of the oil smell, it's making me heave.
Hope y'all are ok

OP posts:
Pk616 · 21/12/2007 13:37

Gill - I really don't know how it happened or where or why. Poor little fella just came home like it and then ran all over the house afraid of the smell of himself

OP posts:
Gill79 · 21/12/2007 13:41

hopefully an accident rather than bad kids getting out of school early and letting off steam.

At least it wasn't paint.....

widgetsmummy · 21/12/2007 13:43

anyone else not quite sure where to find ones perineum????

ok today - got to work Monday but glad its the weekend. at least after Christmas am going P/T

leesmum · 21/12/2007 13:54

Well i've just got back from mw and baby is still 2/5th engaged but is now back to back with me. Brilliant so im in for a painfull birth unless he moves again.

Pk your poor cat, how on earth did that happen, hope he is ok, and you try not to get yourself all upset. x

Manamana you go for it and stuff yourself silly, have a lovely christmas with your family

Merly i love the name change, i hope you manage to shift your cold before christmas.

Gill that must top the most unusuall christmas present anyones ever had!!I never bothered with perineum massage so i can't tell you if it works or not, it might be interesting if you tell dp to do it cos you cant reach. lol

Ruva your mil would be getting f@*k all if it was up to me

To everyone thats leaving this weekend for christmas away have a lovely time and enjoy yourselves, because you know the new year will be a busy one.

Egg · 21/12/2007 13:56

Right, first things first, ginger I thought it was Alice the Camel (we used to sing it at Brownies.

Feeling ok today but DS has been challenging. Glad that those who were feeling really bad are feeling a bit better, and Merly sorry you have a cold too (think mine is going now, but think DS is starting another. He has had about 4 days without one).

Beany, my maternity jeans are too tight as well. I have two pairs that go under the bump, which are fine if I am walking but I have to undo the button and zip to sit down. I also have a pair from a friend which have the belly panel, I thought they were bliss when I first wore them but now they seem to squash the bump as they are too tight, so it makes me more breathless. Gah.

On the subject of baby baths (from a day or two ago), we always bathed DS in the main bath with one of those plastic bath supports, which we found much easier than faffing round having to fill a baby bath etc. Got two now so can bath Nemo and Dory together.

Pk616 · 21/12/2007 13:58

Arrrrrrrrrrrggggghhhh I can't even get the smell off my hands how am I supposed to get it out of the sofa and the carpet on the stairs and well, everywhere?

I hope it was an accident too but still can't fathom out where he'd have found a vat of used engine oil to fall into!

widget - i know where mine is, not that it's the easiest part of me to reach and not do myself an injury, I don't know just how possible a massage is!

Egg · 21/12/2007 13:59

Oh that reminds me leesmum, I looked at my notes yesterday and I have gone from 3/5 engaged to 2/5 engaged. Hmmmm.

PK, sorry about your cat, how is he now? What did the vet do? Bath him? How do you get engine oil out?

Pk616 · 21/12/2007 14:02

Oh and I've just come down with a cold too!

Some fuckin chrimbo this is shaping up to be

I think I gonna be hanging out in the humbug bar for disgruntled agnostics!

About half a bottle of red would go down nicely! I guess I'll have to settle for cheesecake instead!

OP posts:
Pk616 · 21/12/2007 14:06

Egg - the vets are going to knock him out, bath him in lots of fairy liquid type stuff and give him some vomit inducing drugs cause he defo swallowed some. He's got to have drops put in his eyes cause they're all bloodshot and weeping and they've got to clean his ears and nose out too. and then the poor little mite gets to go on a drip to make up for the vomiting. They're gonna keep him in over night to make sure he hasn't been poisoned by it and let me know tomorrow.

alkar · 21/12/2007 14:08

PK what happened with your cat, mine often comes home with petrol on his head but its not too bad and doesn't seem to bother him. I was thinking of you last night, I was flicking quality street wrappers around the house for the cat to chase - a never ending supply of toys for him! You could try that then you aren't having to retrieve their toys from under the sofa??

Pk616 · 21/12/2007 14:13

alkar - it's hard enough trying to stop the youngest one from eating the chocs on the tree with out them getting more chocolate - toy association!! Talking about cats and sofas, the youngest cat is currently hiding behind the sofa cause the eldest freaked him out when he came in and made the house smell. I guess they're both gonna need some extra loving over christmas!
I do so love my feline kids, I started getting them when I was told I couldn't have kids naturally so I'm very attached. (the GP was wrong but that's a different story!)

OP posts:
alkar · 21/12/2007 14:18

I understand - I am so attached to my cat and hate it when he's ill. Hope yours is OK soon x

Gill79 · 21/12/2007 14:49

widgetsmummy - unless I am mistaken you will find it just between the "middle hole" and the "back hole". It's the bit that tears anyway.....

Leesmum there's no way I would be attempting to do it myself but not really sure I want DP (or anyone else!) to do it either!!

Lots of pussy chat this afternoon

Sorry, getting my coat.....

miniandme · 21/12/2007 14:50

egg are you sure baby was 2/3/5ths engaged and not palpable??
Abby (twin 1) has been 2/5ths palpable since 30 wks which is 3/5ths engaged if you like as only 2/5ths of her head can be felt over the pelvic brim.Dont think she can get back out as jack is sitting on top of her

Egg · 21/12/2007 14:52

LOL Gill .

I did a bit of massaging last time, I used Olive Oil as was told it was just as good... Felt a bit yucky though, only did it when on maternity leave when I was not leaving the house. Don't think it made much difference, I had quite a lot of stitches (but they didn't hurt).

Egg · 21/12/2007 14:55

MINI!!!! Have been worried! I even searched for your name, and for jambuttie yesterday as had heard nothing for so long. Glad all still ok.

As for the engaged / palpable, erm, not really sure actually. Will look at notes again. I think situation is the same here as Nemo is on top of Dory so am sure her head is well stuck in anyway.

Please note, in case anyone doesn't remember, Nemo and Dory are just TEMPORARY names for my twins, they will not actually be called that...

Abby and Jack are lovely names . We are prob still going for Jacob and Rebecca but DH not 100% sure about Jacob.

Jo9977 · 21/12/2007 16:46

Good to hear from you mini!!!!!

Soz to hear about your cat pk - that's awful. Hope it was an accident too 'cos it really upsets me to think of the alternative. Really hope he's ok after the vets, sounds like quite an ordeal...

miniandme · 21/12/2007 16:47
