@ame88 Tell me about cardboard boxes 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ I honestly think it's a miracle I've not fallen over in this house. I'm currently without the kitchen or utility room and there's stuff everywhere. Kitchen is coming tomorrow and I just can't imagine more boxes. However, nesting is full on, I clean something every day (please don't think this is normal for me 😂) and it makes me calm lol. Whoever said about cleaning the cars, yep, totally too 😂

Bertie I love stories about your DS! He sounds like such an adorable bundle of joy and mischief! Although I get it's tough for you at 35 weeks now! Yes, my NCT was online. I kind of agree we should meet up now, but I have so much to do around the house and trying to squeeze in my friends before the birth thatI don't know if it's going to happen. Am pooped too! xx

PurplePansy05 · 11/07/2021 08:58

Yeah I feel like I'm about to jump out off a building on fire when it comes to the birth tbh. I even had that vivid dream!

I'll be a planned C-sec due to GD. Last time at 32+4 he was head down and I think he still is. xx

Sheisfee · 11/07/2021 08:59

Hiya! I’m due a giant baby girl on the 19th - waiting to have 3rd growth scan next week and an appointment with consultant to see if they will advise to induce early. Feel like I’m being taken for a ride - her legs are off the scale 150% so I think she’s just really long. They said my last daughter would be 10lbs and she came out 7lb, ugh.

I’m going to try and do everything I can to start this early as I really don’t want an induction! I started expressing colostrum yesterday which apparently I have an abundance of! I have also ordered raspberry leaf tea capsules - anyone have any experience with these?? How many did you take?

Whatshouldbemyusername · 11/07/2021 09:18

@lucyrp ok that's a start. Maybe monitor for an hour or two and then see if you're not happy then go x

At my 32 week growth scan baby was head down but back to back so hoping it turns facing the other way. MW told me back to back is painful. However baby can turn even during labour so am not too worried. Just hoping baby stays head down

@ame88 hope you're ok x.

Abit tmi but is anyone getting painful haemorrhoids at this point? I've never had them in my life and now it's sooo uncomfortable 😫. Plus having iron tablets doesn't help!

MikeWozniaksGloriousTache · 11/07/2021 09:25

@Whatshouldbemyusername funnily enough we are usually at a festival around baby’s due date and our 2020 tickets have been moved to 2022 so baby will be having their 1st birthday festival style! Luckily it’s a super family friendly and relaxed festival and we have a camper van (plus we’re pretty ardent festival goers) so it shouldn’t be too difficult, and that will probably end up as the tradition Grin

@sheisfee oh bless you. I can understand the frustration with the scan measurements. All mine have been measuring small, head measurements in the 3rd centile but then I’m told it’s difficult to measure the head etc so I’ve no idea how accurate they are. I hope all goes well for you, my friend was told the same with her baby estimated 11lb but came out 8lb 10.

I’ve no experience with the raspberry tea but friends have recommended it. I’m not sure if it’s another one of these old wives tales but I’m avoiding things like that for a while. I really don’t want to trigger anything too early as we have a trip to see my parents 4 hrs away in a couple of weeks and I’m so bloody worried about it! Convincing myself my waters are going to break on the motorway and I’m going to give birth in an service station Grin

Sheisfee · 11/07/2021 09:31

@MikeWozniaksGloriousTache try and give birth in a decent shop in a service station so hopefully you get good freebies haha! I’m sure you’ll be fine! That happens so rarely - I have those irrational fears though, I think it’s only normal to have them so you’re mentally prepared for anything! Wish there were more rules to giving birth but it really is just whatever happens at the time.

It’s really annoying that the scans aren’t accurate but doctors base their medical opinion on them. I’ve been practicing hupnobirthing so on one hand I want to trust that my body will be able to manage the size of the baby but on the other hand the doctors may scare me into agreeing with them!

lucyrp · 11/07/2021 09:42

I would really like baby to come at a similar time to DS at 38+5 but I have managed to squeeze a dentist appointment and last minute hair appointment when I'll be 37+ 3🙈😂 so hoping they stick in there until after I've managed to get that sorted. Will probably be booking my monthly nail appointment for week 38 too🤣

Hoares3 · 11/07/2021 16:23

@PurplePansy05 yes please can you add me to the list please 10th of August boy 😀 one party down... one to go I'm shattered now lol!! Going to chill before the football and catch up with what happened yesterday on the chat x

wimbler · 11/07/2021 16:34

I’ve missed so much! Made it to the wedding and back without having the baby so all good there! Was such a lovely wedding and so much fun but I am absolutely shattered now. Was dancing until 11.30 so hopefully baby has been wiggled into a good position 😂 I slept terribly though, was awake from 1-5am this morning then had a 2 hour drive home and I had to do the driving. Home to a grumpy toddler who is giving us the cold shoulder for leaving her too 😬
Going to have a long soak in Epsom salts to ease my achy legs this evening before the football!

Inmypjsagain · 11/07/2021 18:16

@Whatshouldbemyusername oh this has been plaguing me for months! I take fybogel twice a day and use the anusol ointment (glam!). Hope they get better!

@PurplePansy05 I meant to ask a before, when you were unpacking did you ever find your mislaid scan photos? I wondered the other day if they showed up!

@wimbler I’m amazed you could dance that late, I’ve been napping on the sofa all day… you danced, didn’t sleep and drove! Amazing. Hope you enjoyed your bath.

Hair removal- I’m thinking I’m going to get a bikini wax next week, I’ll be 36 weeks… is this a stupid idea?

@Inmypjsagain Great memory, girl! No, they haven't turned up. However, I still have around 10 large boxes to unpack, haven't bothered with that until the new kitchen etc. goes in. I now think I might not unpack fully till next year at this rate!

Also, a nice girl from the NCT texted me and we're catching up end of the week 😊 Then iylt looks like we'll attemp a bigger catch up in the end of the month, we'll see how it goes xx

Mmr224 · 11/07/2021 18:29

Can I join please, due a little boy on 27 August but likely to be induced early at either 38 or 39 weeks.

Sheisfee · 11/07/2021 18:34

@PurplePansy05 Hiya, could I be added to the list please. Due 19th August with a girl xx

Ready2020 · 11/07/2021 18:40

@Inmypjsagain not crazy re the bikini wax. I'm 37 weeks and thinking about it. Should maybe think faster 😬😂

WinterBabyof89 · 11/07/2021 18:45

@MikeWozniaksGloriousTache that sounds amazing.. what a 1st birthday party that will be!

@Ready2020 I’m a planned section due to 2 previous.. 3rd August which doesn’t seem that far away now!

@PurplePansy05 sorry to hear you have GD and hope things are going well.

@BertieBotts usually lovely having snuggles with them after a nightmare but I can imagine being heavily pregnant and sandwiched wasn’t much fun!

Sorry for being MIA for so long.. I’ve caught up on the most recent chat but the threads move so fast ha

In awe of those with almost complete nurseries! We’ve only just started buying things (pram and car seat) due to my history etc, and it feels a bit daunting but I couldn’t put it off any longer. There’s too much choice nowadays!

biscuitcat · 11/07/2021 19:10

@wimbler glad you made it, and sounds like you had a lovely time!

@Inmypjsagain a couple of the mums in my NCT group had bikini waxes recently and reported that it didn't hurt any more than normal so I'd say go for it!

Has anyone else been getting baby brain? All of a sudden in the last week or so I feel like my brain has fallen out of my head! I took DH's water bottle upstairs the other day for bed and when he asked where it was I couldn't for the life of me remember where I'd put it not 5 minutes earlier. And today our supermarket delivery arrived - I usually reserve the slot with a bottle of champagne and delete it before finalising (as it meets the minimum spend and I don't have to think), but I totally forgot to delete it this week 😓 so the order arrived about 50% more expensive than it needed to be! Luckily the delivery driver let me return it as it would have been an expensive week otherwise!

lucyrp · 11/07/2021 19:18

@Inmypjsagain jealous! Don't have the balls for this. Just trimming at the moment and had a horrible thought the other day about it I actually did manage a clean shave how stubbly and itchy it would be whilst bleeding out after having given birth and was glad I hadn't bothered 🤣😳🙈

Daffodil21 · 11/07/2021 19:31

Welcome newbies 👋

@biscuitcat definite baby brain going on here too. I'm sorry but I did laugh at your champagne mishap 😂 glad they let you return it though!!

Whatshouldbemyusername · 11/07/2021 19:51

@Inmypjsagain I'm booking a bikini wax at week 37 as well! I always wax and want to get it befor baby is here. Let me know if it hurts more than usual! Threading my eyebrows tomorrow too so that I can do one more time before baby is here 😃 - also thanks babe. Will look at that gel. It's sooooo annoying

Ava50x · 11/07/2021 20:45

Welcome to all the newcomers!
OMG this thread has been really busy this weekend!
@Sheisfee my DS1 was born with extremely long legs, on the scans they predicted he'd weigh 7.5lb but actually weighed just over 6- the long legs skewed the estimated weight. He's still really tall!

I've read somewhere that having an anterior placenta can cause baby to be posterior. Hoping this isn't true!

Whatshouldbemyusername · 11/07/2021 21:03

@Ava50x that's what I've heard as well. My baby is posterior too with the anterior placenta. Hoping he/she moves in the coming weeks 🤞🏽

BertieBotts · 11/07/2021 21:36

I had that last time. Anterior placenta and DS2 was born back to back. I have a suspicion DS1 was back to back as well, so I have been doing ALL the reading/research about back to back/posterior labour. Let me know if you want info!

However this baby seems to be in a better position (spine to my left) despite having anterior placenta again.

Whatshouldbemyusername · 11/07/2021 22:21

@BertieBotts please share that info! I hear labour is painful when baby is back to back x

Aaaaa1519 · 12/07/2021 00:39

hi everyone
haven’t posted on here so long that I’ve been taken off the list lol
due a baby girl 13th Aug although I’m trying my best to get her out before then 😄
hope everyone is doing well the end is in sight x

Srtdr · 12/07/2021 08:54

Hi all. I also haven't posted in a while but I have been following. Sounds like lots of you have had a tough time. Thinking of you all and I keep my fingers crossed that the next few weeks will go smoothly!

I have had a few complications myself but things all seem to have settled at the moment and baby seems to be growing well. Due on the 12th but likely to be induced a week early. Four more days of work and cannot wait to finish!
