I think pineapple juice and pineapple itself are old wives' tales, don't worry @lucyrp! I'd LOVE some pineapple btw but it'd spike my glucose 😫 Not that I'm counting days till I can eat like a human being again...!

@MrsB2019x Hey! Glad to hear from you! I've been wondering how you've been getting on 😊 Yes, my boy is coming early by the looks of things, I'm hoping for another 3.5-4 weeks, but it might even be sooner, I should know later this week.

Hey @Magik01! How are you getting on? Sorry to hear about the sofa nightmare, I had it in my previous house and it needed a crane and went through a massive window upstairs...don't ask 🙈 Sofology knew the dimensions of our door and assured me it would fit...it didn't! I suggest you do the measurements yourself before rearranging with DFS! xx

lucyrp · 10/07/2021 21:13

@Daffodil21 I keep telling myself that it could happen any day now because my body just feels ready to give up 😂

@PurplePansy05 I thought that about raspberry leaf tea but it definitely helped with my first labour so who knows 😳🤣 oh no 😞 I bet!

PurplePansy05 · 10/07/2021 21:13

@Daffodil21 I'll never recognise early signs of labour as metformin has been giving me all of them since the first night I've been on it...how glamorous! Grin I'm just ignoring it...! xx

Daffodil21 · 10/07/2021 21:16

@PurplePansy05 oh nooo!

I've been to 'the loo' FOUR times today, and the last was quite loose - definitely feels like my body is having a clean out in preparation! But I also did have a subway for lunch for the first time in aaaages, and could have been a dodgy one!

Pretty sure I'm losing bits of mucus plug but also pretty sure I did a couple of weeks ago.

Couple of other things but I'm sure I'm just being ridiculous 😂

Got my next midwife app on Tuesday so I'm guessing she'd be able to feel if it was imminent in terms of his position? Time will tell!!

@PurplePansy05 the woman on the phone did mention about taking the window out but DH isn’t too keen on that idea! Other than that I’m okay. Had some appointment with the mental health team and have a phone appointment this week to deal with birth trauma from last time so hoping that goes okay! Managed to paint the nursery the other day as well so feel like I’m getting somewhere. Hope your all okay!

BertieBotts · 10/07/2021 21:32

Thank you for the new thread, daffodil! I was going to do the same title but didn't log on last night :o it defo gets stuck in your head!

Lucy don't worry, pineapple juice isn't strong enough, the enzymes you want are in the core of the pineapple, it's horrible stuff, so sour and chewy!

Pansy that sounds disappointing about NCT content. Is this an online one? I would defo suggest meeting up before the babies are born if you can as its just awkward otherwise and you'll probably all get caught up in newborn stuff and not bother to sort anything if you don't arrange it now. The local WhatsApp from peanut sounds positive though. It's so rainy here but I'm thinking of trying to arrange a meet up between the ladies in my local 2021 babies group I set up.

I think I'm nesting too, I was just saying to DH today I want to get the car seat in the car next weekend and buy some nappies and pick up the last couple of bits people have offered us. He says it will have to be the weekend after, which is also fine. It's getting so close now though! I'm 35 weeks on Monday.

BertieBotts · 10/07/2021 21:33

The base anyway, not the seat itself.

lucyrp · 10/07/2021 21:35

@BertieBotts I'm 35 weeks on Monday too, booked the car in for an inside valet to have the seats wet vac'd etc as DS has made a mess of his seat and the floors and want it clean before baby comes. So will probably put the isofix base in the car after that's been done

MikeWozniaksGloriousTache · 10/07/2021 22:07

Hello. I’m new here but hopefully can join you ladies for the last stretch.

Due a surprise on the 20th. August is a busy month for us too as my other half’s birthday is the 1st, mine the 10th and MiL 16th!!

I’m not sure when my nesting will begin, I hope it’s soon as the house is a mess and I do not have the energy to sort it right now Grin

biscuitcat · 10/07/2021 22:23

@Magik01 oh what a nightmare! I hope they're able to sort it for you. I rented a cottage from a farmer once and when I was moving in he offered to take out the skylight and use his tractor to lift our sofa in 😂 luckily it was only an IKEA one so folded down nice and small!

@RandomCatGenerator my mood has been so up and down, very tearful too - I'm always a bit of a cry baby, but recently have been in proper ugly tears multiple times every week. Absolutely can't wait for baby to be born as then at least the physical difficulties like hip pain will hopefully go.

@lucyrp I've been researching all the old wives tales to get labour going - planning on booking acupuncture or maybe reflexology, eating dates, all sorts!

@BertieBotts I think I may have started nesting too - I put the car seat and base into my car the other day and have the nursery almost complete bar a couple of paint touch ups which DH will do this week. The chair I have in there is so comfy so I find myself sitting in the nursery every day while I do my teeth 😂

Angelesque · 10/07/2021 23:13

Hi @RandomCatGenerator! My section is booked for 16 Aug, so only three days before you 😊

Ready2020 · 10/07/2021 23:31

So, just being curious, how many of us are a planned c section? It's not something I've considered really.

I've been drinking raspberry leaf tea for a few days now. I was told it prepares the womb for birth rather than enduces you 😬 might only drink it every other day from now on. Though I'm 37 weeks.

We're still waiting on our DFS sofa. They said it'll take 12 weeks! This was 5 weeks ago.

Daffodil21 · 10/07/2021 23:41

@Ready2020 planned C section here (hopefully!)

OP posts:
lucyrp · 11/07/2021 05:49

@Ready2020 I drank around 3-4 cups a day every day from around 36 weeks and plan to do the same again as I had DS at 38+5 and swear it was down to the tea 🤣🙈

@biscuitcat I will be doing all of those too, plenty of sex, walking, bouncing on my ball, raspberry leaf tea. You name it 😂

BertieBotts · 11/07/2021 06:19

Ready you're right about the tea, don't worry! Although I don't think it did much for me with DS1, my labour was ridiculously long. I might start drinking it again anyway - I remember it being very exciting and feeling like I was preparing :o It's meant to help strengthen and get your uterus ready for labour, so shouldn't be used if you are having a planned c-section or threatened premature labour, but it's OK if your cervix is closed (under 37 weeks). Actually I've just read it's only the later stages it helps to shorten and it is always the early stages which go on forever for me so maybe it did help!

DS2 woke up loads last night having nightmares - he said a dinosaur was going to eat him. And then he wouldn't go back to sleep and was really shaking so I brought him into my bed which was fine, except that I couldn't sleep while touching him so I kept rolling over towards DH who was snoring Angry Then DS2 woke up at about 5.40am crying about another nightmare and then noticed it was light and said "Hooray, it's morning time!" and proceeded to bounce on my head Hmm

We have a busy August as well with birthdays on the 7th and 20th.

lucyrp · 11/07/2021 06:24

Currently waiting for baby to do something before I ring the MW unit for reduced movements. OH said he can still hear their heart beating away and they've had hiccups this morning but other than that I've not had much, I do wonder if it's too early for them yet as I normally wake at half 6 ish and been awake 45 minutes already. Don't think I felt as much yesterday either but I was busy working and moving around when I was at home

BertieBotts · 11/07/2021 06:35

Oh they're such a worry at this stage aren't they! It just makes you want them out where you can see them.

At least it should be quiet at this time if you do need to go in.

Whatshouldbemyusername · 11/07/2021 07:32

Morning ladies - 34 weeks today 🙏🏽. I have my maternity photo shoot booked for Friday so I'm excited for that 😃

@lucyrp try having something sweet. Hopefully that should do the trick otherwise I agree best to go in. Good luck x

@Magik01 sorry about the sofa nightmare. Hopefully they can sort it out. Can you not pay the extra£50 now and they try redeliver?

@biscuitcat speaking of car seats our car is supposed to go in for 3 day servicing this week. Makes me slightly nervous but i am sure we will be ok. once its back get it clean and put the car seat in

@MikeWozniaksGloriousTache welcome! August is a busy month for you. Maybe in the future you can plan a family holiday around that time to celebrate everyone's birthdays 😊

To be honest it's been a lonely pregnancy and all the pregnant friends I have are either in different cities or countries! Since I'm new to the area haven't really been able to make friends. I had joined peanut but mainly using it for advice /tips. Have started talking to one mum who doesn't live too close but not too far but it's London and am sure when bubba's are slightly older we can both meet for walks.

@PurplePansy05 all in due time - you can eat all the pineapple once baby boy is here and you will love it more at that time x

Magik01 · 11/07/2021 08:06

Morning ladies, had such a rubbish night sleep last night and already cried about the anxiety of the sofa dilemma 😭

@Ready2020 planned sectioned booked here!

@lucyrp hope baby moves for you so your not too worried, but defo head up if you feel like it’s necessary! Especially if it was the same yesterday.

@BertieBotts ah thanks, it wasn’t the delivery that was the problem, it was that it literally won’t fit through the living room door 😂 and the arms didn’t come off to make it easier like we were told they would in store! And I doubt the guy will be in today to give us a ring with the England match later on today. Bloody nightmare!

livingwithbees · 11/07/2021 08:09

Is everyone’s baby facing the right way? Mine was head down at 32 week appt and then at 34 she said she wasn’t sure and has put breech with a question mark by it in my notes. She’s said not to worry until the 36 week appt, I’ve been looking at Spinning Babies and doing some of the exercises but not sure what else to do!

livingwithbees · 11/07/2021 08:11

@lucyrp has baby moved yet?

lucyrp · 11/07/2021 08:18

@BertieBotts definitely!

@Whatshouldbemyusername I've eaten a handful of chocolates for breakfast and they have started moving now but unsure if they're moving as much as they normally do, so wondering whether to go in anyway once I've had w shower

@livingwithbees yes baby moved now, although unsure if it matches how much they usually do

Daffodil21 · 11/07/2021 08:21

@livingwithbees mine was breech a little while ago but has since turned head down. I was worried he was breech again but midwife checked a few days ago he was still head down thankfully. Anyway, she said if he was breech at this point he'd still likely have time to turn

ame88 · 11/07/2021 08:25

@PurplePansy05 I tripped over a cardboard box 🙄
The main part of my nesting is getting my partner to put together so much flat pack furniture we can't move anywhere!
33+1 today and feeling like I have ages to go but then at the same time not long left!
Also keep just going about my day snd randomly remembering I will be going into labour at some point...it's like being told you're going to be in an accident soon : You don't know when it will happen but you know it's going to hurt! At least we know we get a huge positive at the end!

livingwithbees · 11/07/2021 08:44

@Daffodil21 thank you, that’s good to know! I’d prefer not to have to clean the oven but I’m keeping it in reserve in case the baby doesn’t go head down!
@ame88 your accident analogy is a good one!
