@Caz1226 It is, I have the same. Think it's all the extra weight putting a lot of pressure on our pelvises right now. Yesterday DH had to help me get out of bed as it was so painful in the morning, it felt stuck and my bones clicked so loud when I finally got up that my DH jumped up in the opposite end of the room 🤣 Oh the joys! xx

Whatshouldbemyusername · 26/07/2021 10:05

@Magik01 bless you. It's your abs OH baby. No one has a right to decide or force you to pick a name if you don't want to. Forget about the in laws. Name baby what you want. OH and I don't know gender but we've picked a name each for each gender that we love. They aren't common names since were a mixed race couple and we haven't shared with anyone and will not till baby is here x

@BertieBotts those tie and dye are sooo cute 🥰 - all the best for your appointment. Keep us posted. Keeping everything crossed for you and bump x

Also question. I hit 36 weeks yesterday. Last night braxton hicks were quick often then usual but I felt one pain at the bottom right of my belly and it was sooo sooo painful. Not sure what it was. It lasted about 1 minute and then that was that. I also had 2 painful experiences around right rib, that's where baby has kicked me in the past. I went to the bathroom to see if there was any leak/ bloody show etc but nothing. I managed to get back to sleep after it but not sure what that was? A contraction??? Has anyone else experienced anything like it? I really need baby to marinate for a couple more weeks! I want to get to full term and most importantly I want to have my annual leave and Mat leave next week!!! 🤣

wimbler · 26/07/2021 10:05

@BertieBotts good luck today.

@Smurf123congratulations!!

Hoping I’ll be joining you soon. Came in yesterday afternoon with reduced movements which turned into induction with the balloon catheter. I was also contracting on my own all night every 5 mins or so but things have stopped this morning which is frustrating. Got the balloon in until tonight when hopefully they can break my waters and get things going.

Was so against induction but the doctor made a very strong case and was very reluctant to let me go since I was over 39 weeks.

RandomCatGenerator · 26/07/2021 10:08

@wimbler good luck, induction or no induction. I hope tonight goes very well for you

biscuitcat · 26/07/2021 10:13

@BertieBotts the tie-dye babygros are adorable!

@Caz1226 the phrase I've heard is fanny daggers 😂 I think just another unpleasant pregnancy thing sadly!

@RandomCatGenerator oh gosh that sounds horrible for you - glad that the hospital were able to observe and help you feel a bit more comfortable though.

@wimbler ooh how exciting!! I can't believe babies are starting to arrive now, feels very real all of a sudden. I wish I could say I'd be joining you too but have a horrid feeling that (after my hopeful Friday night twinges) baby wants to stay put for a while longer

Magik01 · 26/07/2021 10:19

@alittlexmasmagic 😂😂 that did make me chuckle!

@Caz1226 I love your chosen name! Why do families find it acceptable to express their opinions eh?!

@PurplePansy05 your DH Nan sounds like a really nasty woman to be honest. I hate how people think c sections are cheating. If they had had a section themselves they would know that it really isn’t the easy way out- it’s major surgery at the end of the day with a newborn to take care of straight after! Makes me really angry.

@Ready2020 sorry your feeling so rubbish! Your allowed to moan your 39 weeks pregnant in the heat! Hopefully it won’t be too long until your little one is here!

Magik01 · 26/07/2021 10:30

@MrsB2019x they are always rather opinionated and aren’t afraid to say what they think. I wouldn’t usually mind, but I don’t think telling a 37 week pregnant lady that you don’t like the babies name is wise. 😂 Oh well! Are you glad you have a date for your induction now? How long have you got to go?

@Caz1226 I believe what your experiencing is called “lightening crotch”. A shooting pain in the crotch area. No idea why we get it, just another fun symptom of pregnancy 😂

@BertieBotts the tie dye clothes look great!! Good luck for today as well 🤞🏼

@RandomCatGenerator oh goodness! That sounds very distressing. Kudos to you for going to the A&E with it, hope your feeling better. Hopefully you can get some answers today from the doctor!

Magik01 · 26/07/2021 10:35

@wimbler good luck!! Hopefully it’s quick for you and your contractions come back! When I was induced last time I did a lot of walking up and down the hospital which I felt helped with getting contractions going.

@Whatshouldbemyusername ah thank you, if it was up to me I wouldn’t have told them but they probably would have been funny buggers about that as well! I can guarantee as soon as baby is here they will back track. I’m sure your names are really lovely!

Sorry about the number of posts btw, I read one page at a time and reply else I would forget what everyone has said 🤣

Also I can now officially say I’m having a baby next week! Crazy!!

PurplePansy05 · 26/07/2021 10:35

Good luck @wimbler! Rest up as much as you can now and I hope things pick up and go smooth for you soon 💐

@Magik01 I think she's just very blunt which generally I don't mind as I'm not one to skirt around any topic either, but I agree with you, it was unnecessary to say that even if she thought it. I think she comes from a very different school of thought and different generation (in her 80s now), so to some extent I am forgiving, but she should have kept it to herself.

I am suddenly all emotional because it's my first day of maternity leave and for several years I thought I'd never make it to this point. It's just so...nice? I got so used to bad stuff happening on the pregnancy front that it feels a bit unexpected xx

Magik01 · 26/07/2021 10:47

@PurplePansy05 I’m so happy for you, take it easy and relax. You deserve it!

BertieBotts · 26/07/2021 11:14

Well I'm here at the hospital! In the labour suite. Just have to wait for a room to be free. I can hear someone's baby on the ctg and another baby crying.

Bit nervous but everyone is so nice and friendly and they are all speaking English to me which is great. Also starving Hmm I decided in the absence of info about whether or not to fast, I would just eat a light breakfast and skip lunch. But I get so hungry in the mornings at the moment.

Angelesque · 26/07/2021 11:52

Playing catch-up as haven’t posted for a while - work has been madness, compounded by hot weather discomfort and helping DS1 with end of school year! Hoping for a quiet last week of work before mat leave - I cannot WAIT

Huge congrats @Smurf123! So happy it all went well and your little girl is here!

Really exciting to hear there are so many imminent arrivals over the next few days… it has felt like a bit of a slog over the past couple of weeks, so really motivating to hear about babies arriving/here in the next few days. My section is booked for 16 Aug, but I have a niggling feeling (figuratively and literally 🤣) this baby might come a little earlier… we’re still to sort a final few bits, but the nursery is as of today decorated and I’ve ordered my maternity pads 😁

Whatshouldbemyusername · 26/07/2021 12:08

@wimbler oooh so exciting. All the best girl x

@RandomCatGenerator hope you're feeling abit better now?x

@PurplePansy05 c sec is defo not cheating. The recovery takes longer too so just ignore your Nan. You're at such an amazing point in your pregnancy you're bound to get abit emotional x

@Magik01 baby next week? Soo excited for you my love! How are you feeling?x

BertieBotts · 26/07/2021 12:35

And baby has turned by himself! So nothing needed to be done today. Yay!

livingwithbees · 26/07/2021 12:40

@BertieBotts oh that’s brilliant news! Such a relief!

alittlexmasmagic · 26/07/2021 13:20

@BertieBotts that's fab news!x

PurplePansy05 · 26/07/2021 14:12

Yay @BertieBotts 😊 Great stuff, now you can relax xx

RandomCatGenerator · 26/07/2021 15:54

Thank you for all sympathies 😊 it was horrible. Today, much better, back to just normal levels of pelvic girdle pain and back and abdomen don’t hurt. Doctor doesn’t know what it was which is a bit weird / concerning? But have an appointment next week (36 weeks) with bloods and BP etc so hopefully that’ll make it clear. Foetus is moving around lots so it’s ok which seems like the most important thing!

Like others have said - it was a bit of a reminder that I do need to finish my hospital bag and hand over in work! My section is scheduled for 19th…

RandomCatGenerator · 26/07/2021 15:56

@PurplePansy05 a nurse yesterday was extolling to me the virtues of vaginal over section birth!! I think it’s quite an old school way of thinking - I’ve read and heard much more that a healthy birth for both the mother and child is a good birth, regardless of how it comes out. I focus on that when criticised.

PurplePansy05 · 26/07/2021 16:08

@RandomCatGenerator Oh I agree! I am very firm on having the right to decide on your own body and the best for you and your child. A planned section was an option I considered before but since my GD diagnosis and my son measuring big, now the recent reduced movements too, it's been a no brainer. If a woman who has never carried a baby feels entitled to preach to me about what I should or shouldn't do, with all due respect, she can go to hell. 😊 xx

Magik01 · 26/07/2021 17:20

@BertieBotts brilliant news!

wimbler · 26/07/2021 17:31

@BertieBotts great news!

Thanks for the wishes ladies. Still not much happening so very bored. Didn’t expect to come in yesterday and not leave until we have a baby, I didn’t get to say goodbye to our toddler which makes me cry every time I think about it.

By the way, I’d totally recommend getting a tens machine. It really helped last night when I was having contractions. I was using the Freya app as well to time them and it has a breathing counter which was amazing. Would really recommend!

ame88 · 26/07/2021 18:12

Hey ladies! Happy Monday! 35+2 today and if 1 more person tells me I'm looking big I think I'm going to properly lose my shit 😂
Please tell me I'm not the only one!

Inmypjsagain · 26/07/2021 18:15

@RandomCatGenerator you poor thing, how horrible! Glad you’re feeling more comfortable now.

@BertieBotts that’s great news, well done baby! That must have been a relief!

@wimbler how exciting! Hope all goes well

Inmypjsagain · 26/07/2021 18:18

@ame88 I’ve got the opposite, whenever someone sees me they ask how far along they say I can’t be cos I’m too small. I saw a neighbour yday who said how many weeks now, said 38 weeks on Tuesday and he asked me if I was sure because “that didn’t look right” 🤨 really why must people comment! I’m sure you look great
