@Ready2020 sorry was meant to tag you in above post

MrsB2019x · 25/07/2021 20:20

Hi ladies, been keeping up with the posts but haven’t posted myself in a little while!

@Smurf123 Congratulations on your new arrival! 🥳

@Magik01 I remember that from before, can’t believe the cheek of those people! 😬 Are they usually this batshit in other areas of their lives or has it just been since you got pregnant?

Hope your ECV goes well tomorrow @BertieBotts Flowers

We had a growth scan on Friday, baby B has a chunky tummy and I have polyhydramnios apparently so consultant is worried about GD even though I tested negative for it earlier in pregnancy. She said there’s no point in testing for it again at this late stage so has booked me in for induction at 38+4. @PurplePansy05 Think we’ll end up having our babies at a similar time! (If the induction goes well anyway 😬)

Ready2020 · 25/07/2021 20:31

Does anyone know if its too late to take my strep B test now? I'm 39 weeks on Wednesday. I've just not done it yet.

Inmypjsagain · 25/07/2021 20:43
@Magik01 tell them to crack on if they want a Harry in the family. They'd probably need to go down the IVF route but older families than them have managed it x
Yesssss this 😂 😂 😂 made me chuckle!

@Smurf123 CONGRATULATIONS 🥳 🎉 so pleased for you! Hope you’re enjoying the newborn cuddles!

@BertieBotts best of luck for the ECV tomorrow, hope it works!

@PurplePansy05 argh that’s a shame, but nearly done and then you can chill Til baby gets here!!!

@Ready2020 aw I’m sorry. This late stage is definitely more uncomfortable than I thought it would be (in fact, all of pregnancy has been thinking about it!) sciatica is the worst as well, it’s like you get no respite. I’m just feeling so fat and waddley!

lucyrp · 25/07/2021 21:03

Anyone else developed quite a few skin tags the last few weeks ?😖 deciding whether to chop them off or wait until after birth to see if they go like they're supposed to

Inmypjsagain · 25/07/2021 21:25

@lucyrp YES! I was just saying this to my husband that I swear I’ve developed skintags and had to google it as I thought I was going mad! Are they meant to go after? Why have we even got them! If they don’t go I’ll definitely be visiting a dermatologist (doctor? I don’t know who deals with skin tags!)

lucyrp · 25/07/2021 21:28

@Inmypjsagain I've just found one under my
Left breast and I found a few on my chest the other day. Yeah they are supposed to disappear after the baby is born. Supposed to give them a few months and if not then you can get them removed. I'll definitely be getting them removed if they don't go on their own!

Inmypjsagain · 25/07/2021 21:32

@lucyrp yes I’ve got 2 under my right boob and what feels about 5 on my collarbone, where my bra and tops rub I suppose? It’s annoying! Pregnancy is the weirdest thing, I’ll have to keep an eye to see if any more spring up.

MrsB2019x · 25/07/2021 22:21

@lucyrp Yep! I’ve found a couple on my neck and around where my bra sits. Why is pregnancy so weird?!

HopefulB · 26/07/2021 06:57

@Daffodil21, we have the same car seat. I just assumed OH would carry baby out in sling & if the hospital want to see the seat they’re welcome to accompany us.

@Ready2020 hugs- we’re nearly there!
Could the rash be sweat rash from the heat? I’ve had it in the bump/boob crease. I Stopped wearing a bra for a few days (think the band was trapping moisture & guess knicker elastic would do the same), and moisturised and all seems ok now it’s cooler. If so maybe changing to some bamboo/cotton shorts type underwear may help?

Bump seems to have been really tight all day yesterday & woken up the same, I don’t know if she’s just running out of space in there or if I should be concerned.

@Magik01 I’d let the OH respond then try and forget about it, I’m deliberately not sharing names for the very reason that I’ll get cross if people give me their opinion (I don’t have much patience with anyone right now - I’m blaming hormones!)

Hoares3 · 26/07/2021 07:11

Sorry long time since posting but been following...
It's a help post really lol I'm 37+6 today and all week had terrible period like pains, shooting pains down low, going toilet about 5 times a day and generally can't sleep 😒
Don't know how much more I can take but don't want to keep bothering the hospital, baby is moving fine I just don't know how to get comfortable!
This is 3rd baby and don't remember anything like this with the other two.... please tell me someone else feels the same and it's just not me going crazy ☹️

PurplePansy05 · 26/07/2021 07:30

Hey @MrsB2019x! I've never heard of this condition, had to do a little Google. FWIW I tested negative for GD at the beginning of the third trimester and then positive 5 weeks later, so it is possible to develop it later unfortunately. Your consultant is right, you're so close now that even if they diagnosed you there isn't exactly time for managing it and it's unlikely to make a difference with it being just a week tbh. However, I'm not sure if you've seen my posts on the earlier thread, there may be one reason why you want to know if it's GD, or two in fact. One is that babies of mums with GD benefit particularly from being given colostrum at birth to level up their glucose levels. Your baby's glucose should be tested on arrival and you both might benefit from harvesting your colostrum now - worth asking about that. Check first in case they don't recommend it because of your other condition. Now, another reason is because mums with GD even though it disappears post partum are at much higher risk of type 2 diabetes - about half of them develop it within 10-15 years after the birth according to NHS stats so that's significant. Obviously the question is whether you even want to know that! I personally don't intend to eat like a rabbit for life, but I've decided to be even better than I was before the pregnancy because frankly I am hating every minute of GD and I totally feel for people who are diabetic in general, it's not an easy life and definitely not something I'd choose if I could. So just something to flag up. You're rigt, we'll likely be really close in dates 😍😊 xx

alittlexmasmagic · 26/07/2021 07:32

DS had to have a test in his car seat before we could be discharged. He was monitored for something like 10 minutes but the details of what for & how I've forgotten. He was in SCBU for breathing difficulties so that maybe had something to do with it x

PurplePansy05 · 26/07/2021 07:33

Oh and actually one more thing @MrsB2019x - if they diagnose you with GD in this pregnancy you will definitely be tested for it in any future pregnancies earlier on and you will have specialist obstetric-diabetic consultant care too. They know their stuff! Just to keep in mind. xx

Caz1226 · 26/07/2021 07:34

Morning everyone
Hope we are all doing ok- final week at work- thank god
Quick question- I’m regularly now getting almost shooting pains up my groin which stops me in my tracks- is this just pelvic girdle pain? Never had it before but it’s becoming more frequent in the last week or so xx

lucyrp · 26/07/2021 07:37

@Hoares3 I've just turned 37 weeks today and for the last week I've been waking around 4 times a night as opposed to once or twice. I've had repeated episodes where I've thought oh god is this it, especially last night when I had Wjat I think were a number of Braxton hicks in a row accompanied by lower back pain and shooting pains down into my vagina. Don't remember this with my first either but I think its just normal ?

@Caz1226 been having this too, I just put it down to the hormones relaxing our bones ready for labour

Caz1226 · 26/07/2021 07:39

Thank you I’m 37 weeks tomorrow so we are at very similar times
I wake up soooooo much in the night- to be honest I just don’t sleep because he is so active in the night which is another reason I can’t wait to finish work so I can hopefully have a sleep in the morning instead as he tends to be a little less active then!
I looked in the mirror this morning and thought- how much bigger can this bump get 🤣 xx

BertieBotts · 26/07/2021 07:47

Caz I only know this as javelin arse :o I'm sure there's a proper medical term. I think it can be normal yes.

Caz1226 · 26/07/2021 07:50

🤣🤣🤣

BertieBotts · 26/07/2021 07:54

I couldn't sleep properly at all last night, just kept feeling so nervous and wondering what will happen today!

3/5 of my tie dye has dried so here you go :) my favourite is the sleepsuit. I've got purple ones still in the washing machine.

They look fab!

Good luck today, what time is your appointment?

BertieBotts · 26/07/2021 09:35

Thank you! It's 12 noon which is 11am UK time but there will probably be delays due to it being hospital. I have been told there will be lots of waiting around, so I'm sure I will update unless I find something more distracting to do.

RandomCatGenerator · 26/07/2021 09:51

@biscuitcat @PurplePansy05 @HopefulB @livingwithbees Turns out the back pain was not normal. After paracetamol, hot water bottle, bath, the pain had spread across the abdomen and I was actually vomiting with pain. Went to ER and they were excellent - it was some kind of false labour without contractions (??) and after observing me for a while and running tests on the foetus, they gave me some very strong opiates which let me sleep. Foetus is absolutely fine. I have never felt pain like it and it was actually really scary.

Thank you for advice which I will use for the more usual pregnancy back pain! Speaking to doctor today to find out more about what it actually was.

RandomCatGenerator · 26/07/2021 09:53

@Caz1226 yes I get that. Also when I turn over at night. I asked the doctor, she said this is just normal…

RandomCatGenerator · 26/07/2021 09:56

Catching up on the thread - many congratulations @Smurf123! How wonderful FlowersFlowersFlowers
