Ladies. Am so so so proud. Just passed my practical driving test - first attempt with 4 minors in 30 degrees heat and almost 36 weeks pregnant! 🥲❤️

@Magik01 that is the cutest! Hope you get some rest today x

@lucyrp hope you're feeling better hun and glad the swimming helped x

@alittlexmasmagic oh wow! It's nice to have something planned but hopefully you will not have to go through it. 🤞🏽x

Magik01 · 22/07/2021 15:47

@Whatshouldbemyusername massive congratulations!! I bet that’s such a relief to get it over and done with!! 🎉🎉

Daffodil21 · 22/07/2021 15:52

Oh brilliant!! Well done Username!!

alittlexmasmagic · 22/07/2021 16:13

@Whatshouldbemyusername well done!! Must be a huge relief x

PurplePansy05 · 22/07/2021 17:48

Thank you @Dia12 that's very kind of you 💐 Are you feeling a bit calmer now? it's quite an overwhelming journey xx

Congratulations @Whatshouldbemyusername, I definitely could not be bothered with this now, that's seriously impressive!

I'm just back from a CTG, baby boy is fine, but I certainly felt he was quiet this morning. The hospital told me to book MW for next week as well. MW ignored my email yesterday. It's just same old story again and again 🙄 Oh, and they don't test for MRSA before C-section, they were looking at me like I've just landed on planet Earth from Mars when I asked. xx

WolfMother326 · 22/07/2021 17:55

Hey @lucyrp just to second @BertieBotts' comment - I was worried about hiccups too, especially waking me up in the night, and talked to my consultant. She said they are totally normal, and a good healthy sign of the lungs working, not any sign of fetal distress. She said there's a lot of misinformation online about the umbilical cord, and to stop googling! I hope you're feeling better now, but also know it's normal to be worried and good to call and get help if you need it.

@Whatshouldbemyusername - congratulations on the driving test!

Jessicapebbles · 22/07/2021 17:58

@Whatshouldbemyusername Congratulations that is amazing!! Such an achievement in all of these circumstances too. 🥳🥳

@PurplePansy05 Glad little man is ok! I’ve been for monitoring this afternoon and my little girl is perfectly fine! Just having a sleepy day.

Xxx

WolfMother326 · 22/07/2021 17:59

I had my 36 week growth scan and feel much calmer than I did earlier in the week. The baby seems to have moved out of back-to-back/posterior position and now is lying on the left side. They told me he weighs just over 6lbs and is in the 48th centile, all looking good. Going to try to stay relaxed and not get wound up too much next time if it seems like he's moved.

I've still been struggling with painful movements - he just keeps kicking the same spot over and over in the evenings - but my husband had a silly yet brilliant idea and strapped his phone playing white noise to my belly with his running belt - made the kicks stop for a little while haha.

I am late to the bump photo party because I've been so hot and miserable all week, but I will share one now! Basically been living in this dress as it's the only thing keeping me cool.

Due August 2021 - the final countdown!
Whatshouldbemyusername · 22/07/2021 18:41

Thank you so much ladies. Honestly am so relieved. It got cancelled 4 times due to covid and just wanted to get it done before baby got here so if I want to go somewhere and DH is not around I can make my way. When he told me I passed I was so happy I cried. Xx

Apparently I'm the First woman to pass there at this stage of my pregnancy so I'm quite chuffed. Tired as hell though now.

@WolfMother326 such a cute bump and such good news about little one looking good x

@Jessicapebbles and @PurplePansy05 glad the little ones are well x

Ava50x · 22/07/2021 18:42

Hi ladies!

Oh my gosh, i've been off this thread for the last week and there's been lots going on here! Just trying to catch up with it all...

@Whatshouldbemyusername huge congratulations!! Well done!

@Daffodil21 just want to say that your mum having short labours doesn't necessarily mean that you will- although of course its wise to plan for that eventuality and hope all works out with your planned c-section.

@PurplePansy05 that glider looks heaven! I have something similar which I love- best thing ever! Just beware that in the early days of breastfeeding, the gliding motion can send a sleepy newborn off to sleep before feeding properly! My DS1 had jaundice and was very sleepy for the first couple of weeks. Feeding on that chair sent him right back to sleep! Just something to be aware of! :)

Ava50x · 22/07/2021 18:47

Whoops, pressed send too soon.

Had a very busy week myself. Was at OAU Monday for reduced movement. Thankfully baby was fine but they were concerned that my bump was measuring only 31cm at 35 weeks especially because there had been no growth since 31 weeks when I measured 31. So off for a growth scan we went. Baby measured a good 5lb 8oz, around the 30th centile so thats a huge relief.

Then yesterday had a repeat episode and honestly could not be bothered going back in, but i did. Thankfully everything OK- I think my baby just likes to sleep in this weather, which to be honest I also want to do!!

So that's been baby keeping me busy. Hoping for cooler weather over the weekend. Its all been a bit much!

Too shy to post a bump photo but you're all looking lovely ladies!!!

RandomCatGenerator · 22/07/2021 18:52

@Whatshouldbemyusername so many congratulations! 🥳 even sitting at a desk is getting uncomfortable so I’m very impressed you were able to comfortably and competently smash your test.

@WolfMother326 lovely dress - you look both cool and stylish, rocking the heatwave :)

Thank you all for the reassurance on hiccups. Mine has a good half hour of them every night. So glad they’re a good thing even if lengthy.

RandomCatGenerator · 22/07/2021 18:53

@Magik01 that is legit very cute! Cotton?

lucyrp · 22/07/2021 18:55

@Whatshouldbemyusername congrats! I'm sure I passed my test at around a similar stage of pregnancy, I passed mine in the middle of March whilst pregnant with DS and he was born first week of April 😳😂

Magik01 · 22/07/2021 19:09

@RandomCatGenerator yes! Feels like lovely material as well!

Whatshouldbemyusername · 22/07/2021 19:33

@RandomCatGenerator thanks darling x

@lucyrp you're a star ⭐️ Feels great doesn't it x

I also washed baby cot bedsheets today. I think other than the nursery and my hospital bag - most of the washing is done atleast

alittlexmasmagic · 22/07/2021 19:50

I haven't even started my hospital bag, not washed a single item and the nursery is a mess. Not panicking 😳 x

BertieBotts · 22/07/2021 19:56

I know the feeling! I have such a to do list and I want it all done by Monday just in case 🙈

Pack hospital bag (mine/baby's) + buy majority of stuff for
Pack DS2 overnight bag
Finish and submit Elterngeld application
Send health insurance confirmation thing of nearly being at term
Find out WTF the jobcentre are asking me to do and potentially do it
Make sure I'm covered under DH's health insurance now jobseeker's has dropped off
Pick up bedside cot friend offered us
Pick up double buggy other friend offered us
Submit details of DS2's potential babysitter to nursery to authorise her
Send details of DS2's nursery to said friend

lucyrp · 22/07/2021 20:13

My hospital bag is packed and ready, baby's has been ready for ages but mine was just a jumble of bits and bobs but it's all in there now after today. When I say all ... all I've packed is :
2 nursing tops
2 pairs of pj shorts
2 nursing bras
1 regular nightie
Breast pads
Maternity pads
Toiletries
Nipple cream
Flip flops

Still to add : dressing gown, towel maybe, snacks , tooth brush, toothpaste, phone charger

Daffodil21 · 22/07/2021 20:17

I wasn't going to take a dressing gown...I thought it would be too warm - should I?

OP posts:
lucyrp · 22/07/2021 20:27

@Daffodil21 that's precisely why I haven't put mine to go yet😂 I think it all depends on where you end up, some maternity wards are boiling where as some are pretty cold so the outside weather doesn't necessarily mean much

Aaaaa1519 · 22/07/2021 20:28

@Whatshouldbemyusername congratulations!
@Smurf123 hope everything is going well, thinking of you

BertieBotts · 22/07/2021 20:30

No you won't need a dressing gown, too bulky.

Take a zip up hoodie, in case you want to wander around and feel that whatever top situation you have on is way too open and breastfeeding-access-friendly. That fulfils the dressing gown requirement IME!

lucyrp · 22/07/2021 20:33

From personal experience I used my dressing gown, i went in to be induced in the morning and when I was wearing my pjs in the day and going for walks around the hospital I popped my dressing gown over the top, it was lovely to have when staying over night too as it was like a lovely hug when left on my own without OH and the ward where I was was severely air conditioned
