Kangaandroo - the 20week scans name is a little misleading - it doesn't actually mean that it has to be performed at exactly 20weeks. If they perform one in your area, it'll generally happen anywhere between 19-24 weeks. As long as it's roughly in that time frame, it's classed as a 20 week scan. In my area 22-23 weeks is the norm. Try not to get too anxious!

mincecepie - so sorry to hear your news - thinking of you x

Thanks for all your kind messages.

I have been into hospital again this morning and had the first dose of the medicine that will bring on labour. If nothing starts between now and Friday I will go back in on Friday to have further drugs...

All the staff oare so kind. they let me have another scan just to be sure even though the doctor said I didn't need one.

The sonographer did the scan this morning (last night had the portable one and a doc do the scan on labour ward).

She took some measurements and said it was a little small for my dates but apart from that there was nothing obvious. She said it had died only in the past 2/3 days, which I knew already as heard heartbeat on Sat morning.

I have the option of requesting a post mortem, so I think I will do that, as I want to know.

There are lots of decisions to be made about photos, hand prints, funerals and so on which are all incredibly heartbreaking.

Hi cece - so very sad to hear this heartbreaking news - I hope that you find yourself surrounded by all the love and care that you need over the coming weeks.

slim22 · 12/12/2007 20:40

:-(

snooks · 12/12/2007 20:45

Cece, I last posted on this thread a couple of weeks ago and find it hard to keep up with news and keep posting all the time, but I couldn't read your sad awful news and not post tonight.

I am so sorry for your terrible loss, I can't imagine how devastated and numb you probably feel. Wish I could say some magic words to make you feel even a tiny bit better but I know there are none. Please keep posting if you want to, we will support you as much as we can. I wish you some peace tonight, take care XXX

JingleBellsRoady · 13/12/2007 08:25

Cece - I too can't put into words what I want to say. I'm so glad you have additional support. A friend lost her baby and requested a post mortem and it really helped the grieving process she thought.

Well we have news. Still 3 little ones - abnormality scan has been delayed until next week as they couldn't fit the 'hour' into the schedule today. They approx about 20mins per baby

Our shock is that it appears we have 3 little princesses on the way so that will make 4 teenage girls in the house at the same time.

Poor ds he will be completely outnumbered. I will really have to savour these 'boy' moments.

chuffed how exciting for you! guess your dh will be thinking about those weddings in about 25 years or so - we have a friend who has 5 daughters!!!

our scan is a week today and can't wait! lo is moving around so much at the moment and got hiccups last night - hilarious!

ds can now say baby (kind of) and points at the bump which is very cute. wondering how he is going to cope...

Just to update you, Hope was born at 2.45 am this morning. No need for a post mortem as she was born with the cord tightly wrapped around her neck and one arm.

santaspregnantlittlehelper · 13/12/2007 14:29

cece my heart is with you, your family and Hope

snooks · 13/12/2007 16:14

Oh cece I'm so for you, what a cruel thing to happen. Hope is a beautiful name for your daughter.

xxxxx

magicfairy · 13/12/2007 16:38
