Just been laughing out loud at the 'man the lifeboats' and 'pampers care mats...crochet hooked' and '20,000 trips to the loo' - you lot are a tonic!

YellowFlower - I agree, ppl want to say something and often a comment on your size is what comes to mind

About new mattress for new baby - we will probably have a second hand one, hoovered and aired. We have also got a second hand car seat as I reasoned - how likely is it that this seat has been in a car accident, the woman has carried on using it, and is now selling it...?

And lastly, I have just been clicking on your profiles and looking for bump pictures - has anybody put scan pictures up? I might put mine up this afternoon! Those of you who are going for 4D scans will you put pics up on your profile? {JBR obviously spends too much time on facebook!}

Dear all,
I am due May 28th and would like to join the thread. This is my first baby after IVF and I am really excited. I will have waited 4 1/2 years for this child.

podglet · 22/01/2008 18:06

Hi Newbishead, that's lovely - congratulations! Are you finding out the "flavour"? Feel free to add yourself to the stats list...

JBR - cool car! I have one bump pic up but it's from 17 weeks - a little bigger now. You have a lovely bump
The person who said man the lifeboats was my beloved DP who came home to find me flooding the flat after I rang him to say that my waters had gone - it's amazing how far 3 litres goes...

I have now seen the Dr and the midwife and have been signed off for the rest of the week. The Dr has said I am exhausted and run down and need to glue myself to the sofa for the week The cold has really developed too so feeling v sorry for myself

Hope every one else is ok.

bobsmum · 22/01/2008 18:13

SO glad you're signed off podglet - make the most of rest time - DO NOT catch up on housework etc! You are signed off!

bobsmum · 22/01/2008 18:14

Welcome newbishad

goodcatholicgirl · 22/01/2008 18:31

HI all, just checking in, in the infrequent way that I do....
Soz!

I am 25 weeks now, Keanu is moving well, and I have even seen some kicks externally. My dd is 20 months now and just such a joy, she has just started talking, but is doing more and more each day. The difference since just Christmas is amazing. It's 'well cute'!

I am quite chuffed cos despite Christmas I haven't quite put a stone on yet, and at this stage with dd I had put on 1.5 stone. You may wonder why I am worrying, but I am one of those poor people who reaaaalllly struggles to lose weight, despite regular exercise and very good healthy eating. It took me over a year to lose baby weight from dd, and I never got back to the 10.5 stone I was before I had children.Plus, when I was pregnant 2 yrs ago, cos I had no kids I had time to swim a mile 4-5 times a week, so it's not as if I don't try hard! So I am hoping this time things won't be so bad....hopefully !
I went swimming last week, first time in 6 mths, just cos of life being busy and not being 100% well at end of year. Managed only 24 lengths, but went again today and did my normal 64 lengths...woo-hoo!!

Sorry, I am going on about nothing really aren't I. How are you all?? I haven't yet read back through the thread since I last posted, will do though.

Had my 20 week scan on Christmas Eve, which was lovely. Didn't wanna find out sex.

Fantastic news newbishad on your pregnancy after so many years of trying. My cousin is 15 weeks pg now, after 3 mc's, an ectopic and 3 failed IVF so I can imagine how amazing you must be feeling, as she obviously is, right now. Congrats!!

I only have 9 weeks left at work!! I am finishing quite early, at 35 weeks, mainly cos my job is v physical and I suffered with fairly bad SPD with dd. I have already got some symptoms of SPD, but luckily I am a physio so I know exactly what I should and shouldn't be doing....I do NOT wanna end up like I did last time! Anyone else got SPD? or Pelvic girdle pain as it's now called? Pubic symphysis dysfunction. Well, if you do, you have my sympathy. If there's anything I can do to help, advice wise, please feel free to ask.

Anyway, better go and get the washing in. I really hope you are all well and enjoying your pregnancies XXX

Mitchell81 · 22/01/2008 18:50

Goodcatholicgirl, yes I had SPD with my last pregnancy, DS is 19 months. I am now 24 weeks and can feel it coming on again, need to find the belt from last time. You have my sympathy.

Congrats and welcome to Newbishad

Hope those who are sick start feeling better. And for those starting maternity leave, should do so whenever they feel ready.

mumofk · 22/01/2008 19:31

Hi all, nothing to add but sympathies for snoring husbands, SPD, feeling rubbish, still having morning sickness, getting signed off ( REST GIRL WHILE YOU CAN!), ignorant comments from people who just upset you and being pg in general.
I've had a good day today- I'm still awake and have actually contributed to cooking tea and read a bedtime story to DD! Usually I fail on all points when I've been at work, and got told I'm blooming now,so wondering if it could be true? Also lasted full day without getting seriously riled and snapping at anyone, despite lots of things happening that usually tip me over the edge....spooky. But I've felt bump wriggling so thats ok.

Forgot whos LO had a temp of 40 at nursery, but hope its all calmed down now.
Have to ask, is there a way to look at a previous page on here after you've started typing a reply on another? I keep starting then realising I could do with looking back to see what specifically was said...my friends are calling me Dory now (Finding Nemo) for serious lack of memory!
Take care all and hope all keeps on an even keel.

Chuffed · 22/01/2008 20:44

Hey all - wow off for a week and missed something like 4 pages so no hope of being able to comment on everything.

All is well here, all 3 are still about the same size at about 1.5lbs each plus 3 placentas and I am larger now than I was at term with dd and ds and still have more time to go. Lathering myself in the Clarins Tonic and no stretch marks yet thank goodness.

The doctor said for me the next 4 weeks are the most critical and I have to have afternoon naps every day so MIL has been over almost every day to take the kids for a couple of hours which has been great.

I had lots of comments about how small and neat I carry with dd and ds, I actually liked it as what was there was bump. My gran actually said if she had carried like me she would have had more kids.

dd went straight into a cot pushed up beside the bed with the side off from hospital, ds didn't really like the moses basket we were given and went into a cot at about 2 mths beside the bed. We will get getting a new mattress this time around as the triplets are likely to be premmie and a bit more susceptible to problems. We are using the old mattress as a crash landing pad for the slide.

My heart goes out to you all who are sick, sore, angry (I had this in the first trimester), and generally sick of it all.

Sexes, the scanner was pretty sure ours are girls as she said she could see the lines of the labias.

We didn't find out the sex with dd and weren't going to with ds either until he did a big bottom first to the camera and you couldn't miss his bits hanging there. Logistically we had to find out for this lot for planning.

Stay well everyone!

JackBlackRoady · 22/01/2008 21:29

Welcome to newbishad! you must be totally over the moon!

Podglet - your 'little donkey' is so beautiful!!! Thank you for saying that about my car - now you see where i get my mn name - my other baby! Me and DH had been ttc for years, fertility treatment was really getting me down - it felt awful to DS, as he isn't biologically DH's (although together from him being about 14months). Anyway we decided to forget about trying every month, and DH bought me my Roady... two months later, I get a BFP!!!

My friend calls it the 'Roadster IVF'

Make sure you rest Podglet, Chuffed, bobsmum and in fact everyone. take care of yourselves,
JBR xxx

KangaAndRoo · 22/01/2008 22:22

JBR- profile updated just for you inc. scan pics x

AussieSim · 23/01/2008 03:37

Hi Guys, I haven't checked in for ages. Am now 22 weeks and have been sick since before christmas - first with a nasty tummy bug and then with a cold incl. conjunctivitis. Naturopath says I am exhausted. I have another scan at 32 weeks to check my Placenta as it was a bit low at 19 weeks. I am a bit nervous that I might end up with Placenta Preavia. We have just about settled on the name Heidi, unless something else better that is German and works in both English and German turns up. My DS1 turns 5 tomorrow and he starts school on the following Thursday, so I am feeling a bit overwhelmed with preparations. DS2 has started dreaming/having nightmares and has been waking me up at night. Thankfully both of them still nap when I have them at home - which is what I am about to go and do. Keep Well everyone! Seeya, sim

podglet · 23/01/2008 11:41

Hi all,

JBR - love the Roadster IVF!!!

Kangaandroo - I have that purple stripy top - DP's? I love it, goes with lots of things. Lovely scan and bump pics.

Am trying to rest up, though DP is really irritating me, keeps telling me I am "malingering" and I'm not really ill. Ok, I have a cold but the real reason I was signed off was stress and exhaustion. I had another rubbish night, could not get comfortable and was bunged up and coughing. Honestly, he thinks that me being at home means I can get lots of things done... sorry, rant over...

blobsmummy · 23/01/2008 12:01

Helloooo everyone - welcome to Newbishead

Aussie - Heidi is a beautiful name .

GoodCatholicGirl - I had SPD last time. Thankfully no sign this time, just a little stiff if I've sat down for a while.

DD is really not right. Not sure if she's got a bug or big teeth are coming through (she won't let me look to find out). She's not eaten a proper meal since Friday and she's been terribly sick. She's now at the point of putting a mouthful of food in, and then refusing to chew it for about 10 minutes. After that, she gets really upset, cries, and it all comes back out. She's drinking plenty, so that's a positive. I'll give her until tomorrow and then take her to the doctors. She's sleeping fine and is eating the odd snack (rice cake and breadsticks) and is generally ok within herself, although very tearful when she gets tired. She's gone from being such a massive healthy eater, so maybe she has a sore throat or just feels generally crap? Both DH and I have had the horrible stomach bug, so it wouldn't surprise me if she had something like that. Still as long as she's drinking fine I guess I shouldn't worry too much yet. She has no temperature. Sorry for the ramble - just trying to convince myself what to do for the best!

Hi Everyone. You all sound very cheerful and lovely .

I got told today that I have a neat bump!!!!!! I was so pleased. It's the first time anyone's said it. I've been troffing, but bump doesn't seem to be growing loads this week. Last week he grew so much i ha dall those pains and got stretch marks.

Newbishad- Congratulations!!! My sister's just had IVF and got pregnant with twins. She's a few weeks behind me. We argued none stop at first but now we're both supporting each other and getting on fab (because she's sorted her head out). It's a lovely time. Hope you have a lovely easy pregnancy, (and I hope my sis does too).

Blobsmummy- How old is your DD? DPs Godson had been like that for a bit- he's 16 months old and he wouldn't eat anything and was crying and whinging all the time, and he was all pastey. He's passed it now and i think it was a mix of a tummy bug and a bad head cold. Hope your DD feels better soon.

Aussiesim- Heidi's a lovely name.

Hope everyone's well. I'll have to get back to keeping up with the gossip on here each day.

xx

Erie · 23/01/2008 15:58

Hi all. welcome and congrats newbishad!
I am 24 weeks and am having a boy which I am sooo happy about. getting fed up with everyone telling me how big I am though...feel great and then someone comments on my big ass, big legs, big belly. anyone else feeling v.big and getting abuse?

goodcatholicgirl · 23/01/2008 17:25

blobsmummy- my dd (20 months) was ill similar to your lo a couple of weeks ago. I was really worried about her, she couldn't even keep water down. It lasted 5 days, then we slowly introduced food again and she is fine now. She is normally a very healthy eater with good appetite so it was weird her not eating for days, but she is fine now, hope your lo is too. X

Hi everyone

Hope we are all feeling OK and that everyone's poorly DD and DS are feeling better soon !!!

I just wanted to sound out a quick worry with you all (again) !!

The baby has been moving loads recently and when ever i sit down or lie down then of she go's kicking away but yesterday and this morning she has been quite quiet i can still feel the odd kick so i know its nothing major to worry about but they are definitely different not as hard and much lower down than usual.

Has anyone else had this and is it normal to have very active days and then very little movement the next day.

I am worrying but don't want to call the midwife !!

Thanks for any advise girls im just SUCH a worry wart this is why im not having another baby after this one !!!!!!

podglet · 24/01/2008 09:11

Morning,

Sweetbean - lo may just have moved position so her feet / arms etc aren't so close to the surface and the movements won't be quite so noticeable? Hope that makes sense. Do call the midwife though if you are worried, she deals with things like this all the time and won't mind at all

Feel a bit better today but my back and hips giving me some real trouble. I was in agony by the time I got back from dropping DS at nursery.

baiyu · 24/01/2008 09:19

Hi there,
Lovely to hear everyone is doing well. I haven't posted on here for ages, I've been travelling in the South of China and it's taken me three trips to internet cafes to catch up!

I'm flying back to the UK on Tues which is exciting as I'll finally get some decent healthcare and in a language I understand! Very jealous of all these scans, I had one ultrasound at 5 weeks (!?) and none since then. Looking forward to having a peek. It won't be easy as DP has to stay out here until just before the birth so for the rest of my pregnancy I'll be on my own living back in my Mum's house (that alone will be very odd).

We're also stressing about when to book DP's flights home as he can only be back for 2 weeks and really don't want him to miss the birth. I don't know how to get an accurate due date, any ideas? I concieved on the 23rd of August making me about 22 weeks, using the last day of the last menstrual cycle doesn't work for me as I'm way too irregular and had no periods all Summer as I was doing a strenous job in a hot climate and that tends to stop them for me. Hmm.

Also really worried about how I'll cope after the baby's born with DP back in China til July. Not going to be easy. Will just be looking forward to July when my new little family can all move into a new flat.

Sorry to rant, feeling fairly healthy and feeling lots of wriggling so shouln't compain! Hope everyone is doing well.

JackBlackRoady · 24/01/2008 10:28

hello everyone

baiyu, sounds like you have had and will have a hectic time - will your DP be back for good in July? The thing is, even if you calculate an accurate due date your LO may have very different ideas about when it wants to make its appearance, a lot of babies are early or late... Also don't worry about how you will cope, you will have lots of support from your mum, your friends, and of course everyone on here! When you get back to the UK you make sure you have some quality rest. xxx

kangaandroo - brilliant photos! you have inspired me to put my scan pics on my profile, will do that today. also hope your DD is getting better - and blobsmummy, yours too. xxx

We've got a moving date! we are completing on the 7th feb, moving in on the 7th and 8th. So excited!!! DH is already planning when he is going to knock the wall down between the kitchen and dining room and get someone in to put in new stairs... he is more excited about the house than about the baby

i am now not at work. i felt faint and dizzy and sick once too often and occupational health declared i cannot do my job. so off to the doctors to get a sick note. That's my name now, 'Sick Note'!

hope you are all well,
JBR

YellowFlower · 24/01/2008 17:46

Sweatbean ? I had the same thing last week and mentioned it when I was up at the hospital, they said it?s perfectly normal at this stage to have busy days and quiet days as the Los are just like the rest of us, so s/he could just be feeling a bit lazy or you could have been doing more which will lull him / her to sleep. But I would def contact your midwife if you?re worried, just to put your mind at rest.
