Ok just weighted my self and have put on 6LB is this "NORMAL" or am i a fat pig who needs to stop eating chocolate !!!!!!

Would anyone else like to share how much they have put on so that i don't feel like such a fat bloater!!!!!xx

IndigoBlue · 14/01/2008 08:46

I'm refusing to weigh myself as I don't want to know! I don't think there's many people that only put on the weight of the baby and no extra unfortunately!

macaco · 14/01/2008 10:22

I lost 11 lbs in the first trimester from being so sick...couldn't keep anything down. I've now at 26 weeks put almost all of that back on.

Mitchell81 · 14/01/2008 11:13

6lbs is nothing, I have put on a stone

Wolverina · 14/01/2008 12:31

Over here they use kilos and I've put on 3 of those, which I think is the same as 6lb, which I was imagining was pretty good going, since I haven't been pigging out at all. I'm sure by this point in my last pg I'd put on at least 1 stone.

bobsmum · 14/01/2008 12:59

1 and a half stone here too!!

6lbs is about the weight of an Xmas selection box - I've snaffled all the children's chocs this year

Erie · 14/01/2008 13:24

1 and a half and growing steadily. eating healthy but also allowing myself lots of treats as I have also gone cold turkey from cigarettes. x

DH has had the horrible flu the past week, so I had my scan all on my own . My parents were away and other family were looking after DD, so I felt a bit like billy-no-mates! I could tell the sex of the baby without the sonographer confirming it - he's a big boy! I am still getting over the shock - was convinced I'd have another girl. I've never been able to imagine myself with a son, but people are assuring me I'll be ok! DD has now figured out there's a baby in mummy's tummy and keeps pointing to my bump. Unfortunately she also points at anyone who is (ahem) slightly on the large side, and pointing at their stomach's saying 'baby, baby!'. Just as well she's only 19 months old and can get away with it!

JBR - I also have painful coccyx (along with piples ) so sitting down rather gingerly!

OP posts:

hi all, thanks to bobsmum and blobsmummy, i am just taking paracetamol for it and hoping it will go away, and thanks to kangaandroo for putting G back to Girl!

i am feeling very sorry for myself...
- rant alert -
despite being 24 weeks this week i STILL feel sick and i am so fed up of it, it's not a massive problem now compared to before xmas, but was enough for me to be sent home from work AGAIN and i just can't teach year 10 and 11 in this condition and i really really want this baby but i feel so FRUSTRATED that i can't just be me and get on with my job, and other things, and i HATE weak women and i have just sodding well turned into one and i am also feeling sorry for myself that i can't understand what my mum means and i know that it will take AGES for her speech to return but it is so stressy trying to speak to her on the phone and if only i didn't live 250 miles away and DS let us down and has an after school detention this week and we sold our flat on friday and the mean woman who bought it phoned me on saturday to have a go about the loft having junk in it and we are supposed to be buying a house but the mortgage hasn't been approved yet and i feel fed up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- rant over -
feel a bit better now, thanks for listening girls!

bobsmum · 14/01/2008 17:42

Deep breaths JBR!!

You;re not a weak woman - you're just having a girl - they're notorious for messing up mums' systems - it's the 2 lots of girly hormones jostling for power! That's why I think I'm having a boy, my pg with dd was "interesting" to say the least. Sickness went on into the 20 something weeks. But then we moved house in the middle of all that too and I don't think stress helps.

Don't know much about mat leave etc and your entitlements, but could you speak to your gP about being signed off sick to give you a longer break??

JackBlackRoady · 14/01/2008 18:46

hi bobsmum!
thanks for the words of sound advice. i've been on the phone to work and i am working on planning this week at home. then i'll see about sick leave, bit worried that they will insist on me taking early maternity but oh well, it just doesn't matter.
feeling tons better as DS has just made tea and it was delicious!
and just got a phone call and the mortgage approval so should be moving soon (fingers crossed)

I had tailbone pain with dd and had accupuncture for it and it really helped. You can get 6 free sessions on NHS via financial year so if you get the 6 sessions in before 31 March there are six more you can have before baby comes.

Houses/moving/buying/selling should NEVER be done when you aren't supposed to get stressed. My heart goes out as it stinks having to deal with all of that stuff.

As for weight gain I am not going to know how much I weigh until the triplets are viable but at the last weigh in I had put on 10kg and have been really healthy etc. I know someone who only put on 6kg so about 12pounds the whole pregnancy and had an almost 9lb baby. A lot of it is placenta and water and extra blood volume not fat.

All well here, first day driving today since appendix came out and we did ok so that gives me a lot more freedom.

I know that there no need for the separate scan list anymore but i like it as a quick guide to who's having what so hope its OK if i keep it going.

I'm off for my scan at 3.20 and am so excited/nervous/apprehensive i can hardly sit still i was awake at 4.00am just thinking and thinking about it.

Thank you all so much for sharing you weight gain with me it has made me feel like im not alone i also lost 11lb at the beginning so am still lighter than when i conceived but look the size of a house (i was not a bean pole to begin with )and have got this large spare tyre going around my hips and waste that just makes me look sooooooooooooooooooooooooo fat and not at all pregnant.I did carry the same with my DD but i was also 2st lighter back then so it did look more baby than fat back then.Anyhow i will come back on later hopefully to tell you all about the scan xxxx

JackBlackRoady · 15/01/2008 11:40

thanks mrsstresshead and chuffed, i am feeling tons better today, just had to rant was so stressed yesterday and didn't want to vent at DS again (poor thing!)

sweetbean, excited for you about the scan! maybe you could wear the slogan tshirts to let everyone know its pregnancy!

having an internet break from working, and was on this site: www.vertbaudet.co.uk - anyone bought anything from them?

JBR xxx

blobsmummy · 15/01/2008 12:44

JBR - would agree that carrying a girl is much more hormonally 'interesting' that carrying a boy. With DD I was a blubbering/seething/emotional wreak and was sick until 24 weeks, stopped for a few weeks, and then sick again for the last 6 weeks. This little boy I'm carrying is soooooooooooooo much easier - have only felt murderous thoughts towrds others a couple of times, and sickness was gone at 16 weeks. I also ached like mad with DD, but (apart from coccyx and piples) feel much healthier with this one. That's probably giving you know comfort at all - sorry! Just letting you know I understand a bit of what you're feeling like - glad things are better today x

My aunt has ordered loads of stuff from vertbaudet and rates them highly. I keep meaning to and never seem to get around to it.

Just re-read my post - sorry for the atrocious English - I really must click on 'Preview Message' first. My spelling and grammar shows a complete waste of the £10,000 University education!

Sweetbean - hope all goes well for you.

OP posts:
sophisticatedlangoustine · 15/01/2008 12:56

I like vertbaudet stuff both maternity and childrens wear. Good quality and nice styles. But never ever pay full price! Hang on til they start sending out the special offers like 30% plus off, The freebie toys etc are usually worth having too. They are slim fitting though - I would always order a size up. French kids must be skinny

I bought a gorgeous newborn set for ds to come home from hospital in. It was allegedly "1 month' but at 8lbs8oz (so not enormous really), I couldn't squeeze him in and the hat, cuffs, ankles etc all left a massive line round him Bought bigger the next time and it was fine!
