My 20 wk scan is 2 days before my birthday....such a fabby present!! i'll be 21+ then so have been told things could be quite clear.

I so definately DO NOT want to find out the sex of this one and our hospital will tell you hehe

we're really struggling with names....we have a little girl called Ruby already so would like something along those lines if we have another girl (Im working on dh...I like Poppy Louise!!) really really stuck for a boys name

Anyway...if I dont get on before Father Christmas comes...I hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing and pigging out christmas!!!!!

Take care of you n your bumps!!

xx xx xx xx

AussieSim · 16/12/2007 01:58

I have my 19 week scan on NYE so will be able to check in with the boy/girl then. I am currently backing 80% chance boy given my track record - or should I say DH's track record. If it is a boy it will be called Felix.

macaco · 16/12/2007 11:55

AussieSim, Felix is nice....it was one of our possibles maybe as it's Spanish too, but Dh not so keen.

MrsVO · 16/12/2007 13:09

was told there was a may thread out there so thought i'd join in....
i'm due 8th may. live in london and its my first time so all a bit new and exciting! (tho know its always exciting) .. felt a bit reluctant to join thread as sad news a few pages back so sorry to hear that. it seemed lovely that there was so much support given from the faceless friends.
i've got my 20wk scan tues. not going to find out sex, tho we both tempted. think we'd end up spending way too much money on blue/pink things!! and my friend told me i'd need a reason to keep pushing!
names: i love evie/evelyn/eva - good choice! also theres a girl in the school i teach called felix... i think its better suited for boys tho. isn't felicior/felice (or something like that) latin for luck/fortune?... so a great meaning for a name too.

Hi, Santaslittlestresshead, just to say about writing down baby's sex and opening it later- we're not allowed to put it in writing so depending on where you are, they may not be allowed to do that for you (thought it might be better to be forwarned than dissapointed at the time if they can't), but if you can do it, take your envelope and bit of paper with you!
I've got my scan this week, and dreading it. I keep thinking of all the things that can be found, which consultants will be around if there is a problem, and if we need a second opinion, with it being xmas, we'll probably be waiting ages Bump was used for teaching the other week so I'm reassured that anything we could pick up would have been, but there's so much the scan wouldn't pick up I kind of wish I wasn't having one. Odd logic, but then I could switch off all the negative thoughts! I'm having the scan so DH can see it, and if we do decide to look for the sex then we find out together, not me just looking and then telling him later. Grrr. Sorry, just being negative today.
Not ready to think about names yet, so can't add much but haven't seen any names mentioned I don't like!
Hope all the bugs aren't getting everyone too much, and that we're all almost ready to pig out for xmas!

KangaAndRoo · 16/12/2007 20:14

Awww big hugs Santaslittlestresshead...I hope you dont get a chest infec so close to xmas!

about movements...I too only feel them once in a while but I think this baby is hiding in my back!! I use the doppler to reassure myself, so hun...it wont be long before little un is kicking you black n blue!!

I remember my daughter not moving until at least 23weeks and it didnt really worry me but this one...Im forever lying still and having a little prod

Yes we do have a similar taste I had the name Ruby from being 7 weeks pregnant and funnily enough no other girls names or boys so was lucky. Im finding it hard with this one to find something that goes well with my daughters name and with our surname. I liked Megan BUT want Louise as a middle name....initials would be MLF ! so I think not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

take care x

starting to think that you're my twin that ppl say we all have somewhere in life!! My dd never moved much either and I was forever on ctg machines!! spooky!!

pregnabrain · 16/12/2007 21:08

Hello

Hope all of you are well. All these name ideas are lovely. I'm really stuck this time. Probably because i'm pretty much the last mum I know (in real life ) to be going for number two - all the best names have gone!

Evie Stevens just made me giggle, so I suppose that means it would be a bit weird??? Mind you, my dp told me today he was at school with a boy called Chris Cross. What were his parents thinking??

I think I have started to feel movements now . There was an unmistakable kick last night. Very happy about that as I really loved it last time round.

I'm quite bored of being pregnant, though. I keep wishing the weeks away because I can't wait to meet this baby. But then I remember that these are our last few months of just enjoying dd and I try to relish the time instead. Can't believe how much things are going to change.

pregnabrain · 16/12/2007 21:14

ps welcome to you MrsVO. Hope you enjoy the board.

Mumblesmummy · 16/12/2007 21:23

Hi everyone,

It's all very cheerful on here, lots of happy mummys

It's hayleyandbaby by the way, I keep changing my name coz we keep renaming the bump, it was baby, then roo (sorry Kanga- I noticed your name so changed mine) and now mumbles(from Happy Feet because it's always dancing).

Welcome to MrsVO, congratulations

Everyone who commented on my tight bum- I wish!!!

Everyone's name choices are lovely. I really like Evelyn Stevens. We've stuck with ours from ages ago. If we can't find out what the baby is we're going to travel and get a gender scan, it's only £65 -plus you get 2 photos.

Hope everyone's well

hi everyone, well true to form i can't remember what anyone said so will jsut answer in general!

we are going for either samuel (sam) or ethan for a boy - my 1s choice is ethan so have to just convince dh! he thinks it sounds a bit woossy...

and for a girl i think we are going for lara.

we are definitely finding out not least because our due date is pretty much out the window - the consultants are still going for between 30 and 32 weeks, so having some certainty is lovely. also i really bonded with ds as we named him and referred to him by that name from the day we found out what he was. and also PILs in nz will be able to buy gender specific clothes! no lemons or mauves or mints in this house

welcome mrsVO where in london are you?

our scan is on thursday so fingers crossed all ok there.

went to start the car yesterday and the battery had gone completely flat! RAC came out and tested it and have to get a new battery. we have an audi estate and dh (as usual) said "just call audi".... difference between them doing it and a local garage is £110!!! so we're going with the local non audi guys. he did say any saving i make i can have half of it for treats so £55 for me all me

hopefully GAP sale starts sometime this week - normally starts just before christmas, so once have had the scan can stock up on some things. and also get ds's stuff for the next year pretty much

anyway, enough of my mindless drivvle, see you all later and hope everyone keeping well - santaslittlestresshead inhaling vicks will really help if it goes to your chest, as will using it at night. v sexy i know but it will help!

IndigoBlue · 17/12/2007 13:16

Hi all

Hope everyone's ok.

Welcome to MrsvO

Hopefully I'll be able to narrow it down to finding either a boys or girls name soon - got my scan this afternoon so hoping I'll find out the sex. Will update you when i know!

londonirish · 17/12/2007 17:07

Hi all, I had my scan today and it was soo amazing and really clear. We decided not to find out sex, reading back through the posts I think we are in the minority of wanting to know! Apparently everything is fine with the baby which is a huge relief and now I can really enjoy Christmas! 3 1/2 days left of work!! Can't wait to pig out and relax.
Hoping that everyone is enjoying the festive season and able to get your feet up!
xxx

MrsVO · 17/12/2007 17:22

ahh - bless the welcomes.
in rsvp to santaspreg.. i'm in islington. booked in to uch and linked with a bloody s**t gp to support. oh i love the nhs.
londonirish: glad scan went well - i've got mine tomorrow and we both very excited and nervous all at once. the 12 week scan they were so silent and we kept wanting to say "whats going on!!" they like to keep people guessing. great bedside manner... nhs again! tho no disrespect meant to hard working underfunded goverment employees - i am a teacher afer all!
hope scan for indigoblue went well.

snooks · 17/12/2007 18:48

Welcome MrsVO, hope the scan tomorrow goes well, and hope your scan went well too LondonIrish.

As for names, aussie I agree Felix is a lovely name! Although I am biased because it is ds2's name!

We really like Pearl at the mo for this dd's name. It might not be everyone's cup of tea but it's our current fave. Our surname is a bit of a mouthful with 3 syllables so it seems to go quite well.

I've had 4 blissful weeks with no morning sickness but it came back last Friday and has been here on & off all weekend, also today. Was sick twice on Saturday. I've read a couple of threads on here with people saying ms can come back, I'm praying it's a blip or a weird bug......will let you know.

Hello to everyone else too, I'd better go, can hear lots of crashing about upstairs with DH trying to supervise bathtime

IndigoBlue · 17/12/2007 19:20

Well everything looked fine with the baby at my scan and it's a boy ! I'm pleased but think I need time for it to sink in, after having a girl last time I couldn't really imagine it being a boy, feels a bit weird at the moment but I'm sure I'll get used to the idea! Just stuck for a name now, girls name was pretty much sorted but can't decide for a boy.

Glad your scan went well Londonirish, good luck for yours MrsVO.

snooks · 17/12/2007 20:04

Ooops I meant IndigoBlue - hope your scan went well today (I can see it did now ). LondonIrish glad yours was good too.

podglet · 17/12/2007 20:44

Hi all,

Sorry not been around for ages (again) but working full time, DS and a new house taking up much time! Hoep everyone ok.

Have my 20 week scan on Thurs but won't find out as Colchester won't tell you. However, we have booked a 4d scan for 12th Jan which is exciting. I now don't think we need it though as I am sure it's another boy

Can't believe I am half way already (20 + 4), where is the time going? Last day at work for Christmas on Friday - not back til 2nd Jan thank goodness, I def need the break.

Hope everyone is ok and getting sorted for next week. Everything is bought, nothing is wrapped...

KangaAndRoo · 17/12/2007 21:16

Santaslittlestresshead...you've blummin done it again.......

"i dont know why im so convinced it is a girl, maybe just coz i already have dd and cant imagine having a boy really "

Urm DITTO!!!!!! lol

Im working thursday and half day monday up to xmas...then im back in on the thursday after boxing day!! pfft...people wanting their tablets eh?
Im nearly all bought for xmas but I have wrapped everything!!

Got my consultants app tomorrow to see about my ferritin levels...not sure what they can do?!

take care x

Chuffed · 18/12/2007 06:30

Welcome Mrs VO.

If we weren't having triplets we probably wouldn't have found out the sex either - logistically we thought it was easier.
Who knows how we will agree on 3 names though I don't think we've got one we agree on yet. Both dd and ds have non gender specific names so finding 3 more we both like is quite hard.
The plan is to agree on 3 names then when the babies are born to give each of them one of the names. They are all non-identical so hoping that they don't look overly alike when they are born and it won't be hard to tell the difference. dd and ds didn't look anything alike.

I have my abnormality scan on Thurs too. I think we are sort of hoping that one of the babies might be a boy and they got it wrong last week.
