@PurplePansy05 my hair is growing so fast now I can't keep up with it! I feel like I need a trim every couple of weeks!! Haven't noticed baby hairs though, sounds interesting!!

Got results from GP and frustratingly everything came back normal! So now we're back at square one. They do want to send me for further testing but I feel like perhaps my body has just had enough of being pregnant?? Will do the testing but not putting much hope in it...

Delighted its Friday again! Does anyone else feel the weeks are flying now?

biscuitcat · 09/07/2021 10:02

Well I've called in sick to work today - just so stressed with everything (plus a stressful work situation on top of that) that I'd have been no good to man nor beast. Feeling quite guilty because it means some work won't be getting done before I finish as I just don't have time to catch it up but I'm trying to tell myself that it won't matter in the grand scheme of things. DH has suggested I sack off the glucose monitoring because all so far have been fine and we're fairly sure that baby was mis-measured but I think I'm too much of a goody-two-shoes!

@PurplePansy05 my hair has been growing really fast, it's lovely and thick at the moment! And I've noticed I can go longer between hair washes too before it looks greasy.

@Ava50x how frustrating not to have answers, hopefully further tests will reveal something. I've definitely found it's starting to go quickly now - just hoping it continues to rush by as I'm so sick of pregnancy 😓

BertieBotts · 09/07/2021 10:07

Think we need a new thread soon. Any suggestions for a good title? I think we need something acknowledging it will probably be the final stretch / final countdown and all our niggles! We might get babies being born on the next one! Apart from little Holly we haven't had any yet but it's getting closer!

PurplePansy05 · 09/07/2021 10:09

@biscuitcat You might well be fine, but yeah if it's only monitoring for 5 days to start with then it might be worth doing it. You have every chance the results will be fine! 😘

I'm in a really awkward position where my boss suddenly stopped giving me new work because I'm going off on maternity. Which I understand to some extent but I'm dead bored and I still have my targets! I feel they're setting me up for fail in terms of future promotion as a result. I've not asked for special treatment Hmm. I will be looking for a new job on maternity leave I'm pretty sure but not thinking about that yet. xx

PurplePansy05 · 09/07/2021 10:11

Bertie - I saw some before taking inspiration from Friends, like "The one where they're coming!" 😊 Alternatively "They're coming home" - topical...(I stil wish the English the best of luck) xx

Whatshouldbemyusername · 09/07/2021 10:15

Thanks @BertieBotts and @PurplePansy05 - you are right. Babies just do what they want to with movement. will call mw later anyways. X

Baby is moving a lot right now so that's a great sign.

@biscuitcat I called in sick yesterday and today as I'm just tooo tired and works been stressful as well. Just worked out as the late night and stress from last night would have needed the day to rest all the same x

Daffodil21 · 09/07/2021 10:56

@PurplePansy05 I haven't noticed my hair growing but nails definitely are!!

I really feel for you all suffering, im actually finding this the easiest stage so far?! Anyone else?! Im not sure it'll last but im enjoying it while I can!!

OP posts:
lucyrp · 09/07/2021 11:44

@Daffodil21 are you crazy ?!😳😳 this is the hardest stage so far for me. Second trimester was a breeze but this so far has been horrific

Whatshouldbemyusername · 09/07/2021 11:49

@Daffodil21 I'm with @lucyrp - second trim was a breeze. My body feels so achy like I've been hit by a truck! And all these other worries that came with it. Plus sleep issues in this trim are soooo real for me. Reflux. Leg cramps etc x

MM1993 · 09/07/2021 12:20

@Daffodil21 - this last stage is absolute hell, I'm starting to think I can no longer cope being pregnant. I know he needs to stay in as long as possible but I just want him out now. For me it's the restless legs (knees) and the lack of sleep. Also the fact that even just taking a couple of steps is agony and I'm not even that big!

Daffodil21 · 09/07/2021 12:38

Oh nooo! I found first trimester mentally the worst for obvious reasons, the second physically the worst and now finding it ok! I wish you all were too!!!!!

OP posts:
BertieBotts · 09/07/2021 12:41

Second definitely the best for me too :o first is just horrid with sickness and exhaustion. Second ok. Last one is harder in terms of mobility and waiting for things to happen!

Daffodil21 · 09/07/2021 12:44

@BertieBotts I definitely feel way more mobile now than I did in the earlier days! It's so odd. I'm wondering if it's because I'm off the meds that caused loads of weight gain earlier on. I'm not complaining! And hope it lasts. Just wish you all felt he same! Being on early maternity leave will have helped no end as well, I'm sure. My dick of a boss did me a favour!!!!

OP posts:
biscuitcat · 09/07/2021 12:51

@Daffodil21 I'm glad at least one of us is having a better time of it (would be even more glad if it was me, but there we go 😂)!

I'm so ready for baby to be born, even though I know it's best for him/her to stay cooking for a few more weeks. I've started looking into all the old wives tales to try and induce labour!

lucyrp · 09/07/2021 12:55

I will 100% be starting my raspberry leaf tea either next week or the week after but don't want to start too soon, and I'll be doing my figure of eights on my gym ball aswell as increasing our sex and walking. I have found my sex drive has increased this last week too although not sure why as I'm severely uncomfortable 95% of the time plus its so hot. I find walking hard work since the sciatica has kicked in and aching all over 🥺

wimbler · 09/07/2021 13:08

3rd trimester definitely kicking my backside now. I’m 37 weeks now so will gladly welcome baby any time! chasing around after a toddler is such hard work but I’m so grateful to be living with my parents so we have so much extra help.

I’ve hired a tens machine for labour too £23 for 7 weeks hire and you get free postage too from here: birthease.co.uk/ friends have said they’re great for pain relief

Daffodil21 · 09/07/2021 13:25

@wimbler ah I'm only 35 weeks so maybe I've got it all to come! It's actually unnerving me a little... this sounds silly but I hope my body hasn't forgotten I'm pregnant 🙈 I've had months and months of 'you look big for august' and 'Are you sure there's only one in there?' and yet now over the last couple of days, 2 people have said they didn't even notice to start with, and one said I had a nice small neat bump?! It feels so backwards! Could barely walk in second trimester but now ok?!

I've also heard good things about TENS machines. That sounds like a good price too!

OP posts:
PurplePansy05 · 09/07/2021 13:48

@Daffodil21 I really don't know if it's because you're 35 weeks, I'm 35+1 like you and it's near hellish, I think @biscuitcat is similar too, aren't you? 😂 Just make the most of it though! It's a blessing!

I am struggling physically and mentally, in many ways I feel I've gone back to the worries I had early on because now we're so close to the finish line. It's like a weird emotional loop, not sure if this makes any sense. So I'm trying not to talk about it, not to dwell and shut it off, but fml, in combination with my crazy hormones, aching body and stress from everything else it's much harder than I ever imagined xx

HopefulB · 09/07/2021 14:02

@Whatshouldbemyusername hope you’re feeling better now?

I find movements can be quite variable (but it may be down to how much attention I’m paying). Usual certains are first thing, after meal/cold fizzy drink/cake, and in the evening before bed. I guess a change in routine could change when you notice them?

If you’re up earlier don’t be surprised if you need second breakfast…. This has been a feature of my whole pregnancy 😂

HopefulB · 09/07/2021 14:14

Agggh! I missed a whole page….
Sorry so many are struggling this trimester. I feel a little like @Daffodil21 First was definitely harder for me.

My body is not able to do what it usually can, but I’m quite accepting of that, given how incredible it is to feel babies hiccups/ watch the bump move. My OH has been also been absolutely amazing, really making sure that I don’t overdo it, but coming up with little things we can do together, and taking on way more chores than I.

Whatshouldbemyusername · 09/07/2021 14:53

@HopefulB yes my lovely. Better today. Baby getting hiccups as I type 🥰x

Yes yesterday I had soooo much food! Lol. I do sound like a pregnant woman today. Making sounds at every movement 🤣🤣

Working on the nursery this weekend 😃

Oh @PurplePansy05 thanks for the boots sale info last night. I got pampers in stock! ♥️x

Daffodil21 · 09/07/2021 14:57

@PurplePansy05 you're right - nothing to do with being 35 weeks. I'm just going to shut up and enjoy it! You all really do have my sympathies though!
I'm sort of doing the ostrich routine about the outcome... I'm just not thinking about it unless I have to 🙈 my inbox is always open if you need a chat though!

A big worry of mine has been going into labour at home alone, as my mum had really short labours (under 1 hour) and the hospital is over an hour away, but she's coming up to stay until he's born either by planned CS or natural labour, so it's a massive relief to know that I won't go into labour alone!

@BertieBotts do you want to set up the new thread? Happy to do it again if not but your thread titles sound much more interesting than anything I'd come up with!!

Inmypjsagain · 09/07/2021 17:29

Hi ladies! Just had my last day at work and I cried with relief, this week has been manic doing handovers. Long hours in the office- I genuinely feel broken, I don’t know how women would commute and work til 39 weeks? And @lucyrp how you’re on your feet, I have no idea!

I’m 💯 with everyone saying third trimester is horrible- it’s about on par with the first trimester for me because I’m sleeping a bit better than then- but sciatica, pgp, the daily vomiting, the general aches, not being able to roll in bed. I am also constantly baking hot. Glad we’re on the final stretch.

Sorry to hear about more potential GD and the general pain everyone is in. We can get through this ladies!!!!!! (@PurplePansy05 hope the GD management is going as well as can be!)

We are ordering a dominoes, I have got a fake gin and tonic and I am celebrating my last working day for a year. 🎉🎉🎉

Inmypjsagain · 09/07/2021 18:12

My midwife just text saying my iron levels are 92 and to up my iron intake, but I’m already taking iron daily! I thought I understood the levels but I normally view results on a chart, this was just text to me so can’t see what “normal” range is. Does anyone know if that’s quite anaemic? Or just a bit under normal? Might explain why I’m so shattered anyway!!!

Whatshouldbemyusername · 09/07/2021 18:15

@Inmypjsagain aaaaw am happy you're done with work. My last official date is 30th July when I take annual leave for a week and then Mat leave from 9th august.

So babe my iron levels are 110 as of last week and they have told me to continue taking the tablets as it's still "quite low". I think the minimum number is 118 or something x
