@WolfMother326 ah that’s good, glad all ok for you! Typically I got hooked up with the elastic and immediately my one kicked- like a huge kick! Made the monitor wobble! And I was like I swear he’s been quiet for the last 16 hours 😂 they probably thought I was a precious first time mum!

WolfMother326 · 16/06/2021 16:06

@Inmypjsagain mine started moving a ton as soon as I got home - possibly because my husband bought me a milkshake to soothe my shattered nerves Smile

@Whatshouldbemyusername yes please keep me in the loop - that would be lovely.

Whatshouldbemyusername · 16/06/2021 16:11

@Inmypjsagain @WolfMother326 mine started kicking up a storm as soon as I got home too! Typical. But I managed to get a growth scan too which was nice to see baby again coz they wanted to see alls well with the placenta x

PurplePansy05 · 16/06/2021 16:12

@Inmypjsagain it's the fat thighs lovely 😁🤣 When they rub against each other because we've put some weight on/we walk differently/it's hot and uncomfortable. I tend to get it every summer anyway tbh, sadly never been blessed with a thigh gap (anyone else remember it being a big thing in the 90s/00s? 😁)

@WolfMother326 My son was exactly the same both times, the day after CTG he was moving loads and loads. Babies can trick us sometimes! xx

Ready2020 · 16/06/2021 16:42

I got some chub rub shorts from H and M but they are a bit short. The Snag Tights one looks good so might look into those.

Baby has been extremely moving around today. As in so much I feel sick and very uncomfortable. Not sure what's brought this on but I hope she's not turning around as last time it felt like this she turned over.

Inmypjsagain · 16/06/2021 17:14

@WolfMother326 and @Whatshouldbemyusername typical isn’t it!

@PurplePansy05 wow I had no idea this was a thing! My hips are wide set so I had a thigh gap pre pregnancy so this has never even gone through my head!! My thighs should be rubbing now, as if I stand with my legs together now the gap has gone, but my pelvis is so sore I walk strangely, so they’re not… for now. I did wonder why people were talking about shorts!

PurplePansy05 · 16/06/2021 18:40

@Inmypjsagain You're blessed, girl! Honestly, it's a PITA every summer! 🤣 xx

Ready2020 · 16/06/2021 18:44

I don't think I've had a thigh gap since I was about 14 😂

biscuitcat · 16/06/2021 19:29

Thigh gap? A girl can dream 😂

@PurplePansy05 it's so strange isn't it! I've started to get pregnancy imposter syndrome again since hitting 8 months this week - I just can't believe how close it's getting so I think my mind is telling me that it's not really real and just a big attention seek!

Inmypjsagain · 16/06/2021 19:50

Body shapes are weird really… I did try walking with my legs nearer together and that must be really uncomfortable in the heat. Maybe waddling is a good thing cos my legs are spread 😂 but I can see I’ve had it easy not realising this was a thing before!

(I can still only read the last page of a thread- sorry I know I’ve been tagged in posts a few pages before but I haven’t seen them!)

lucyrp · 16/06/2021 19:59

I forgot until now- I woke up this morning gasping for air as I was screaming and had tears in my eyes from the weirdest Lucid dream. Anyone else getting them bad again? I had them a lot at the start of second trimester but they had gone away as such but they're back with vengeance now😰

Daffodil21 · 16/06/2021 20:00

@PurplePansy05 I hadn't really registered that we are 8 months tomorrow! Still in disbelief tbh! I also have the beginnings of stretch marks on the bottom of my bump.

Thanks for all the chaffing suggestions!

On our way back to Scotland now. Still 4 hours to go 😱 but a lot cooler now thankfully!!!!

I'm thankful for two MOT service stations who let me use their staff loos 😂 definitely need a shower when home!!!

Daffodil21 · 16/06/2021 20:01

@lucyrp yes I'm still getting vivid dream, have been all the way through but I'm quite odd and enjoy them 😂 except if there's a really horrible one of course!!

lucyrp · 16/06/2021 20:03

@Daffodil21 i must say I've had quite a few sex dreams about OH which goes to show the lack of sexual activity we've been having 🤣

BertieBotts · 16/06/2021 20:04

It's not me who is having dreams. DS2 keeps waking up and talking about spiders O_O

I alarmed a shop assistant with my bump today :o Also at the stage where people look so pleased with themselves for giving me a seat on public transport, which is needed - our public transport network has (literally) melted and shut down so it's all in chaos with replacement buses etc.

PurplePansy05 · 16/06/2021 20:10

@lucyrp Same here, the lack of sex life is proving difficult now! I look forward to reactivating it 😁

@Daffodil21 Hope you have a good journey, sounds like a long one! Make the most of your breaks and yes definitely a nice, refreshing shower as soon as you get back 😊

@biscuitcat It's so strange, isn't it. I've had three strangers today making comments in passing, such as "Oh, not long left!" or "I definitely have it easier than you!" (on the stairs) and an ice cream lady telling me her birth story which was obviously traumatic and my DH fuming later "I don't know why you'd said that to a heavily pregnant woman!" 🤣 I just take it with a pinch of salt. But it definitely doesn't feel real that I am so obviously heavily pregnant that strangers are noticing and commenting on it. I get this "who, me?" kind of feeling! xx

lucyrp · 16/06/2021 20:13

A random man in town said to me today whilst I was going to get lunch "oh not long now" and I was like umm" well no I still have 9 weeks ish" and he went " 9 weeks ?!?!" And his face said it all. Like yes I have a big bump you don't need to tell me 😒🙄

@PurplePansy05 same! But also panicking about what birth control we're going to use as hormonal contraception makes me sad thinking about it, how it affected my sex drive, natural lubrication, moods and weight 😕

PurplePansy05 · 16/06/2021 20:14

Also so proud of my son, he's been kicking for Wales tonight and what a game! 😁 He seems to be super active during football games, much to DH's delight! DH's already plotting he'll have his little buddy to watch and play football with 🤣 It's so surreal, but very sweet xx

PurplePansy05 · 16/06/2021 20:20

@lucyrp I am rubbish on a pill, migraines, low mood, you name it. I had to stop it completely when I hit 29-30. DH and I then used the good old pull out method for a while before TTC, which I know isn't perfect, but it clearly isn't massively risky either - once we actually TTCd after, I got pregnant 4 times in 18 months and nothing happened for 3 years before. I think we'll be doing the same again, but appreciate it's not something that everyone would be comfortable with.

Don't worry about these comments! I have 8 weeks left now so similar to you 😊 I think it's probably the time to hear them, nothing wrong with that 😊 The babies are getting pretty big now! It just feels really weird they're directed at me xx

lucyrp · 16/06/2021 20:25

@PurplePansy05 I was on the depo injection, and it was great because I didn't have periods and I never noticed it effected me until I came off it for ttc and realised all the things that had been wrong while on it. It was when I was at my lowest MH wise, I was my biggest in weight, and OH and I had a bumpy few months because of it all. So I'm really worried about going back on Anything, I think condoms is the one thing I'm really considering but I actually hate them 🙄😒

I quite like being told I have a big bump most of the time but the fact it was just some random man as I was crossing the road threw me a bit 😂 hoping my 9 weeks is more like 7😬🤣

Daffodil21 · 16/06/2021 20:32

Ohh I've got another to add!

I was in Greggs the other with my mum, we had put our stuff together to pay and the lady on the next till along asked me what I was having. I responded with 'oh we're together thanks' and she pointed at my bump and said 'no, what are you having?'

Good job I didn't say 'sausage roll please' 😂

PurplePansy05 · 16/06/2021 20:33

@lucyrp All of my girlfriends struggled with MH/weight/headaches etc. on hormonal contraception. I think you only really find out when you start talking to people, I believe the scale and severity are likely to be underestimated. I agree with you, I wouldn't want to go back to it and struggle again. No perfect option, eh! I think in few years' time I might have a chat with DH to see how he feels about having a snip. But we'd need to be positive we aren't going to try for more DCs first, which isn't the case for us now. xx

lucyrp · 16/06/2021 20:37

@PurplePansy05 I was also on it for 3 years and during that time went to the gp about my MH and had counselling and was on medication and it makes me furious that one of the first things they don't look at is your contraception! Also the fact that it took so long to get pregnant after coming off it although we won't want another for a couple of years its still annoying. I have looked at the patch but not sure what people's experiences are with it. My friend used to be on it and had no problems. Yeah I think that's definitely the way forward although it makes me emotional thinking about that being it! Xx

alittlexmasmagic · 16/06/2021 20:42

@lucyrp I'm done with hormonal contraceptives too. It's either going to be the copper coil and/or the snip for DH. We'd never have ruled out 3 children but I can't face another pregnancy.x

Daffodil21 · 16/06/2021 20:43

Another one here hating the pill! Been off it about 8 years and don't plan on going on it again!
