I've literally only bought two babygros, dummies and a packet of nappies so far for this baby. You're all making me twitchy to get the credit card out 😂 x

lucyrp · 16/06/2021 13:04

The chaffing has begun 😒

Daffodil21 · 16/06/2021 13:08

@lucyrp baby powder is your friend!!!! Mine began last week 😂

lucyrp · 16/06/2021 13:10

@Daffodil21 I'm so hot and sweaty today and was just walking to grab some lunch and I'm wearing a skirt and i was like eww 🙄😂

notinthestarsigns · 16/06/2021 13:28

@Daffodil21@lucyrp I bought 2 pairs of cheap maternity cycling shorts that have made such a difference under skirts and dresses!

marionbot · 16/06/2021 13:37

Hello hello! Just hoping on that thread as I'm completely new to this space, due for the 10th of August with a baby girl here (first one) :)

I also need a trip at the dentist probably, kept pushing it further and further because of covid and now I think I'll just wait cause I'm terrified of the dentist anyway and I might end up just going into labour there ahahah

Daffodil21 · 16/06/2021 13:44

@notinthestarsigns my mum suggested that too but I cba to find a pair that fits! My knicker size seems to be increasing by the week!

@marionbot welcome

@Daffodil21 I just got a 2 pack off boohoo they are maternity but in my normal size. I know boohoo quality isn’t great but they are fine for just wearing underneath something and think they were a tenner or less for both pairs!

WolfMother326 · 16/06/2021 13:56

Hello, how is everyone? Absolutely boiling in London, but looking forward to the rain cooling things down soon (hopefully). All I can do is a morning of work and then a nap and hope to get a bit done later in the day usually don't

I had a bit of a scare. Didn't feel baby movement for about 24 hours and ended up going to maternity triage last night. They monitored me and the baby and his heartbeat was fine and everything ok. He started kicking as soon as they took me off the machine, of course. Today wiggling a ton so not sure what the quiet period was about, but glad I went and got it checked out. Hard to trust yourself with some of this stuff though...

@marionbot I've been to the dentist during pregnancy and have one more cleaning scheduled a couple of weeks before the birth - trying to get most things sorted beforehand so I don't have to do it with a newborn - but I hate it too!

marionbot · 16/06/2021 14:01

@WolfMother326
Yeah I know it's going to be a struggle but as my partner needs to go to I figured we'll do that later on and we can take turn... That way the high blood pressure won't affect the baby Grin

Hoares3 · 16/06/2021 14:12

@marionbot welcome! I am also terrified of the dentist 😬

alittlexmasmagic · 16/06/2021 14:48

@lucyrp @Daffodil21 better than baby powder is Asdas Little Angels liquid talc. It's 100% amazing and cheap. In a tube too so easy to pop in your handbag. They are often out of stock but worth the trouble of tracking down.x

lucyrp · 16/06/2021 14:52

@notinthestarsigns I have some of those for my shorter dresses but I wuite like the breeze under my dress or skirts up until this chaffing 😂

@alittlexmasmagic I'll see if I can grab some

alittlexmasmagic · 16/06/2021 14:58

@lucyrp even something like Vaseline can help if you're desperate in the meantime x

marionbot · 16/06/2021 15:06

@lucyrp @Daffodil21@notinthestarsigns
Highly recommend the anti-chaffing short from snagtights!!! they're the same material as tights so more breezable than bicycle short and also a LOT more stretchy!! Mine pre-pregnancy still fits but they have bigger sizes too, and it's the best!

marionbot · 16/06/2021 15:08

And reg sizing that's the message that they sent me last month:
"Snags are SUPER stretchy! If you are a Snag size A-E, then we would recommend going up by one size. If you are a Snag size F-G, then they should see you through the whole of your pregnancy. "

Whatshouldbemyusername · 16/06/2021 15:30

Ladies it's hot today! Although it's showing rain from tomorrow! @WolfMother326 where in London are you based?x

Just a quick one so in March I ordered maternity/nursing bras from hot milk and they are good!! I was a 30DD pre pregnancy and had a "fitting appointment" then and was told was a 32FF. They are having a sale and I ordered some over the weekend and got delivered. Got some good ones under £20. Just if anyone is looking.

@marionbot welcome and congratulations 🎉 x

PurplePansy05 · 16/06/2021 15:31

@lucyrp I posted a couple of threads ago I ordered a two-pack, 100% cotton from Asps, they're the Mamalicious brand. I can now thoroughly recommend, they're super comfy shorts and I wouldn't be without them. Love them so much I even wear them around the house just with T-shirts 😊

@WolfMother326 I had two episodes of reduced movements too, around 27+ and 28+ weeks, similar to what you've described. First time he changed his position from head down to breech (and he's still there!), I started feeling him completely differently. Second time I have no idea. Hopefully it won't happen to any of us again.

I read somewhere from 32 weeks the way we feel the movements might change again as babies have less space to move, does anyone know if this is right? xx

PurplePansy05 · 16/06/2021 15:33

*Asos

WolfMother326 · 16/06/2021 15:39

@Whatshouldbemyusername I'm in Shepherds Bush! And yes, really hoping it will rain and cool down!

@PurplePansy05 good to know I'm not the only one. All the other women in triage were basically going into labour and I felt a bit sheepish for coming in. But at the same time I'd rather be sure my baby's healthy. I think you're right, the movements start to feel differently as they run out of room, but still meant to feel the same amount.

PurplePansy05 · 16/06/2021 15:43

@WolfMother326 Totally right, best to be checked over Flowers And yes spot on re no reduction, apparently it's the strength of kicks that might feel different in these final stages. I can't quite believe I am saying "final stages" and I'm turning 8 months pregnant tomorrow, it's like it's happening to someone else 🙈 Also I officially have stretch marks at the bottom of my bump...hello! xx

Inmypjsagain · 16/06/2021 15:45

Anyone having a weird glitch where they can only see the last page of this thread? Only page 13 loads!

But sorry if it’s explained in the other pages but what do you mean by chafing and have I got this to look forward to? Is it for your bump?

@WolfMother326 oh were you hooked up the ctg machine? Sorry to hear cos it’s stressful. I think some days baby’s just chill or move into a position where we can’t feel them, I went in twice for reduced movement and both times I got the ok- no real reason for it.

@PurplePansy05 I heard movements change at 36 weeks but tbh I don’t know for sure, I think either way the type of movements you feel can change but the frequency should stay the same!

Whatshouldbemyusername · 16/06/2021 15:46

@WolfMother326 I'm in Wembley Park. Not sure if you read a few threads ago - was suggesting we can call meet up if we're "local" in the groups when babies are here and it's safe to x

Also like @PurplePansy05 I had to go in for reduced movement at week 29. It is scary but the MW are so helpful. I have an anterior placenta so they said it was good that I went in too.

@PurplePansy05 I've heard that too by the way. Between week 32-33 space does become limited so you feel movement but in a different way. Not in the sudden kicks kind of way.

I managed to take an afternoon nap today after forever and I feel soooo good! X

WolfMother326 · 16/06/2021 15:48

@Inmypjsagain yes they kept me on the ctg for about an hour, which was reassuring as my baby's heart rate stayed stable the whole time. Today he's been moving a ton so I guess he was just having a quiet one! Glad everything was good when you went in. So hard to know what's going on in there when the little punches and kicks in the bladder stop!

Inmypjsagain · 16/06/2021 15:58

Ugh inappropriate apostrophe usage in my message irritates me- sorry. I know it’s not baby’s chill…!
