@Inmypjsagain oh it was so stressful! But I'm
Glad baby is well. Sorry you had to go through it too x

Also thanks for the link. It's helped make up my mind. I will apply for the switch. I don't have my next MW appointment at my current trust till 28th June so this might work out better. Let's see..x

@Millymay13 @PurplePansy05 yes. I have been wearing flat sandals as my left foot is swelling up. I have put on over 8 kgs since I started my pregnancy and I know I'm struggling with the weight. This is the heaviest I've EVER been in my life and it's probably the shoes. It's too hot to wear the trainers that I've worn since day 1 is my pregnancy upto 2 weeks ago. I do have some sandals with a slight heel maybe try those. Just that since I can't see my feet I am afraid to wear any sort of shoes with a heel! X

Inmypjsagain · 11/06/2021 17:12

@PurplePansy05 I think it might depend on your course leader. She has also emailed us a link to make a towel baby if we don’t have a cuddly toy…. It’s like creepy blue Peter 😂 well, first session on Monday so I’ll keep you posted!

@Whatshouldbemyusername stressful but reassuring once you get the clear! Hope queen charlottes is a good choice for you and that they make the swap easy!

Ugh and shoe choice in this weather is horrible, I get cankles daily now so stick my feet up on the back of the sofa. I guess you want shoes on a slight incline…

PurplePansy05 · 11/06/2021 17:28

Yep slight incline or flat, but cushioned shoes are the way to go IME @Whatshouldbemyusername. My comfiest ones are the £9.99 fake canvas Cons (aka Cons lookalike) from New Look, they are amazing! I might need to buy some slip ons though, bending over is too much now! If something's on the floor, I leave it there 😂 xx

biscuitcat · 11/06/2021 19:10

@Inmypjsagain it is good so far I'd say 😊 we seem to have one person taking the lead, but she's not needing to push it as everyone is quite keen to socialise. Luckily quite a few couples are relatively new to the area - in our 'what are we looking to get out of NCT' discussion everyone's top priority was meeting people.

Going back to our thinking about nurseries - some really do seem to be getting busy! My favourite one can offer us a space for September 2022, I'm so glad we looked now! I think I'll ask to go on the waiting list just in case an earlier place comes up and I want to go back to work early, but that would have been such a disappointment to miss out on.

HopefulB · 11/06/2021 19:24

@Whatshouldbemyusername, think about arch support too- I’m living in Birkenstock’s!
(Except for dog walking, when I’m not in walking boots whatever as my ankle ligaments are too lax and I don’t want another fall!)

You’re all so organised with your bags!
I have a list next to a bag.

Re birth, my local MLU is the floor below labour ward so easy to transfer, as such I’d like to go MW led unless something changes and there’s a reason for me or baby to have more medical support.

Whatshouldbemyusername · 11/06/2021 23:14

@PurplePansy05 @HopefulB yes will definitely have to look at better shoe options.

I finally washed baby's whites today! First batch of baby grows, sleepsuits and some swaddles - new born and 0-3 months! Ah I feel better!!

Re hospital bag I haven't started putting that together and defo need to make a start as well! X

HopefulB · 12/06/2021 08:22

Morning all! Looks like another hot one 🥵

Re clothing I’ve found an old pair of decathlon yoga shorts out - they are an absolute joy to wear around the house/garden. Disclaimer I’m more the slummy mummy end of the scale then yummy mummy!!

Sports bra’s also seem to be the only thing that comes close to keeping my boobs off bumps and creating an air flow! Although the one’s that create a monoboob mean sweat aggravates new pregnancy eczema in cleavage. The third trimester is definitely the most glamorous yet 😂

Daffodil21 · 12/06/2021 08:55

@HopefulB I had really bad dry red patches on my face which I can only assume was pregnancy eczema. Tried lots of things and the only thing that work was this (pic attached) - cleared it up within a day!

Whatshouldbemyusername · 12/06/2021 10:40

Morning ladies! Thanks for the tips regarding the cream!

Question - I got woken up with leg cramps in both legs at 5:15 am! Both! There's still a dull ish pain in both legs but worse on the right calf! Any tips?x

lucyrp · 12/06/2021 11:59

@Whatshouldbemyusername not the same but I've woken up with a dead leg (shin) for two days in a row now ! So odd c

Inmypjsagain · 12/06/2021 11:59

Re: nurseries! It really is nuts how far ahead they get booked up!!!

@HopefulB 😂 monoboob! I relate!!!

@Daffodil21 I’ve just ordered that, thanks- I’ve been using childs farm as it was meant to be a miracle worker it didn’t really work for me long term.

@Whatshouldbemyusername poor you, you’ve been really achey lately! So my physio for my pelvis pain recommends stretches before bed for this but suggests a 10 min walk before to loosen the muscles and then just usual post work out hamstring and other leg stretches. It’s also getting hotter and I notice my legs get more fidgety if I’m not drinking enough- so worth keeping an eye on water intake. I used to take magnesium pre pregnancy which is good for cramps but I’ve stopped because the midwife couldn’t tell me if it was safe to use and I keep forgetting to ask the GP. I think others have recommended on here before but if you’re interested I’d check the dose! Hope it gets better.

Hope everyone has a good Saturday! It’s glorious here, I’d love a cold glass of rosè today…. 🌞

PurplePansy05 · 12/06/2021 13:20

@HopefulB I second @Daffodil21, she recommended that Aveeno cream to me earlier for eczema and it's the next best thing after sliced bread! The only one that has helped me in pregnancy.

@Whatshouldbemyusername I had the same 3 days ago. Not much we can do unfortunately, but I try to stretch my legs and feet as soon as I wake up. I feel quite often on a verge of getting a leg cramp in the night/morning, but only had it once.

@Inmypjsagain I agree re nurseries, it can be crazy. Glorious day here today too, I'm sticking to ice cream and a nice lunch and then some snacks as Wales is playing today, woo 😁🙌 I got 0.0% Peroni for the occasion, it's actually decent! xx

wimbler · 12/06/2021 17:31

I get horrendous leg cramps too but they have eased since I started taking the spatone iron supplement daily. I’ve got the liquid, apple flavour sachets but I have to chase it with something really strong like biting a lemon as I can’t bear the taste. Like eating rusty nails 🤢

My feet have started really hurting too, even my Birkenstock’s aren’t helping the pain. Putting it down to weight gain. Definitely notice the extra strain on my legs when climbing the stairs too 🙈 it’s definitely motivation for keeping weight off in future I must say! I think I’ve put on about 10kg so far. Been sat with my feet in the paddling pool all afternoon which is bliss!

Whatshouldbemyusername · 12/06/2021 19:04

@lucyrp leg pains are the worst aren't they!

@Inmypjsagain trust me my legs are getting a beating! 😔. I'm going to take your tip and walk for 10 minutes at night. I drink over 2 litres of water daily and as @wimbler said I've been on iron too now so was hoping that would stop. I'm on ferrous sulphate and yes I put it on weight gain too. I guess.

@PurplePansy05 it's the worst isn't it! The leg cramps had stopped at week 25 so I thought that was it but today morning Was terrible. So grateful DH is a calm person so when I woke up screaming he just massaged my feet. Bless him.

The left calf is ok but the right still has pain even though I've walked over 8000 steps today! X

lucyrp · 12/06/2021 21:13

Had a lovely baby shower this evening organised by my friends. Only had 3 friends over and OH mum but it was so nice 🥰🥰 OH stayed too and we had a great time eating food, chatting and laughing. Feeling the love ❤️

BertieBotts · 12/06/2021 21:16

I asked my gynecologist the other week about magnesium and she said it's fine to take it, I was taking it for breastfeeding aversion but I think DS2 might be about to wean (fingers crossed!) He actually fell asleep by himself for the first time EVER yesterday. DH just left him to play in his cot by himself and eventually it all went quiet. When we checked on him he was asleep snuggled up to his cuddly Ikea bus :o

Hoares3 · 12/06/2021 21:28

Hi all!! What another beautiful day 😍 just wondering if anyone has had/ is having a maternity photo shoot?? Not normally my thing having photos done of just me and didn't have one with my other 2 dc. However found out tonight I have won a outdoor shoot next Friday and now feeling a bit nervous 😬 please feel free to share your experiences

ame88 · 13/06/2021 13:20

Even more excited now!

@ame88 lovely!!

I still can't comprehend that that's inside us...!

biscuitcat · 13/06/2021 19:05

Ahh lovely @ame88 🥰

I had a proper freak out the other night, I noticed colostrum when I squeezed my boobs - I had a joint panic that there's going to be an actual baby in a couple of months and also a really weird uncomfortable feeling that my body is doing things that I'm not at all in control of (I know it has been for the whole pregnancy but this really hit me for some reason). I think I'm still a bit freaked out as I'm getting all worked up again just typing it out!

Hope everyone has managed to stay cool in the hot weather!

ame88 · 13/06/2021 20:55

It's actually mad isn't it! When I feel kicks I still don't link it to a proper baby kicking me? Such an amazing but weird feeling!

lucyrp · 13/06/2021 22:32

@biscuitcat I have golden colostrum coming out too alresdy!

Ava50x · 14/06/2021 10:22

Just catching up with this thread, apologies for re-bringing up old stuff!

@Whatshouldbemyusername huge sympathies for the cramps. They are just the worst, aren't they? I find putting magnesium flakes in the bath to be helpful. And another tip which seemingly makes no sense but works for me, is to put a bar of soap under your mattress. Don't know why it works but it does- i've not had a single cramp since i've tried it!

@ame88 such a lovely baby!

Ready2020 · 14/06/2021 10:26

My OH was a total dick yesterday and left me in tears. He later apologised and said he's just realised how close the baby is to coming and he's freaking out a bit. We're doing various courses and I think it's just a jump into all this info coming at him. I do feel for him but still won't tolerate being spoken to like he did to me. Sorted now though I think. There is just a bit of added stress of moving into a much smaller house so we've got stuff everywhere!

At my last growth scan she was weighing in at 5lbs roughly. That seems quite large for 32 weeks!

12 days of work left! 🙏

Inmypjsagain · 14/06/2021 14:04

@lucyrp oh that’s sounds lovely! Pleased you had a good shower 😊

@Hoares3 lucky you for winning!! No experience, I feel too whale like to pose for any photos at the moment 😂 hope it goes well!

@ame88 so sweet!!!! I can imagine that made you excited ❤️

@biscuitcat I had the full on panic this weekend too, had a little cry, hoped we’ve made the right decision… life is about to change and I’m already so tired! But colostrum already?! Oh no something else to look forward to!

@Ava50x I am so intrigued about this soap!

@Ready2020 sorry to hear that, emotions running high! Hope you’re feeling better now? With the risk of sounding really odd you were in my dream last night 😂 you were called Chris and your partner was called Marshall and you called your daughter Ellie! And I said oh that’s ready2020 to my husband! No idea what was going through my head….!

It is boiling today!!! I’ve got A serious case of cankles going on. First nct zoom tonight, interested how that will be…. Hope you're all well x
