Im feeling REALLY sick

cazzybabs · 26/11/2007 20:52

Housemum - its the blood pressure that is the problem...both times before it has shot up right at the end (and this time is no exception)...and they are just more worried because of having a home birth...I have no other symptoms (well apart from the inconclusive blood test which I am hoping is just a problem with a machine rather than my blood).

Insy - I can do 20...

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 26/11/2007 22:01

might have to ask for that local in piles

they are so sore and bleeding.had to poo before and wished i had gas and air!

getting lots of twinges again and throwing up every 5 mins
ugh ugh ugh

BunnyBaby · 26/11/2007 22:15

insywinsyspider - Mattie is short for Matilda I thought? Nice name I agree

Wizzska - mobility trucks and pensioners hurtling towards you on bikes on the pavement too really makes me grrrr at the moment

Only 2 days to go now until baby due. Feel great, had two weeks off, and got a bit bored so went into work with hubby today (he's self employed) and started to sort out his office / paperwork. Like feeling usefu.

Am starting to get stalked by excited people wanting updates so keep replying 'when the apple is ripe it will fall'. I'm happy for baby otarrive when it's ready

Bouncingturtle · 27/11/2007 06:08

Poor you Chocpeanut, sounds bloody awful!!
How's the building work going, is it nearly finished now?

claraquitebignow · 27/11/2007 06:14

(Very early) morning everyone. I have been awake since about 4.30am worrying and stressing about all the possible changes in the year to come - mostly about dh's possible job move abroad and how this is going to affect us. Also my shoulder is aching so badly I can't get comfortable in bed. So gave up and got up in the end.

Does anyone know if stress can affect your milk supply? Am now worried and stressed that worry and stress will mean I don't produce enough milk. AAAAAGH!

Insy - 'twas me talking about the name Mattie. I agree with your DH that it is nice to have a formal name on the birth certificate that they can use when they are older (I thought we could have either Matilda or Martha) but MY DH seems content just with Mattie.

If it's a boy it'll probably be William anyway, which will clear up that arguement!

Bouncingturtle · 27/11/2007 06:36

Claraq - poor you! Still don't know what's happening with DH's job move?
I'm awake coz of aching hips. Not sure about the whole stress affecting your milk supply, maybe gets some advice from your MW.
FWIW I think Matilda on the birth cert and call her Mattie. That way you are giving her both options when she grows up.

claraquitebignow · 27/11/2007 06:41

Hi BT - these aches and pains are terrible aren't they?
Dh is yet to find out from his department what his terms, conditions and pay would be if we went overseas. Also as the posting is to Pakistan, we need to be sure it's a safe enough environment to move to with two small children. I realise you can be affected by terrorism anywhere in the world (including, obviously, London) but things are looking quite ropey there at the moment. Although it will probably be better after the election.
But to add to that, DH will probably have to go on some residential training courses in Jan and Feb, leaving me on my own with a 4-8 week old baby plus dd (2). And I just don't know how I will cope....

ANYWAY I must stop stressing about it, I am worrying about things that aren't even necessarily happening.

claraquitebignow · 27/11/2007 06:45

This news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7113513.stm is a story on bbc website about maternity services - nothing terribly new but quite interesting.

mellymooks · 27/11/2007 07:13

Morning, I've been awake for ages too!!
Try not to worry Clara, things always seem bigger in the dark when there's too much time and quiet to think about it all, it will all work out one way or another and as my better half is ALWAYS pointing out to me worrying about it won't actually change the outcome so really it's a waste of time - I know he's right but sometimes i find it hard to take that advice on board!! Esp. when I've whipped myself up into a good old stress about something!!

I'm really achy too hips and shoulder so fed up of left side position even with the million pillows and supports I have surrounding me when in bed!

Bouncingturtle · 27/11/2007 07:19

well I'm going to go back to bed to see if I can get some more sleep... started to feel tired again!

buzzybee · 27/11/2007 07:27

This thread is soooo reassuring its not funny!! I'm having major period like pains too with the odd stabbing pain. Listening to you all it sounds pretty much like this is normal behaviour, maybe to do with head engaging or perhaps uterus preparing itself?? Whatever, I think we'd know if it was contractions - in my case pretty constantly in the background not coming and going.

Anyway she's been told sternly not to come before Saturday - anytime after that is fine

LOL at all the nesting we're doing. So far I've:
cleaned the fish tank
put up the Xmas tree
bought a frozen chicken just in case I have energy to cook on Xmas day! plus a trifle sponge...
packed my hospital bag and put it in the boot of my car

What's the maddest thing you have all done??

mellymooks · 27/11/2007 07:48

i just obsessively write lists of everything i need to do/buy/organise/wash etc!!

Was in town yesterday and walked past one of my fave cafes and they are doing 3 course veggie xmas dinner which sounds gorgeous and that you collect xmas eve and then just have to heat - sounds very appealing indeed.
We've basically told everyone we're not doing xmas so will just be the three of us, a tree, in our new house - lovely!! No stress! Though I'm sure i'll get all sentimental soon and start buying pressies even though i've said we're not gonna do pressies!!

claraquitebignow · 27/11/2007 09:18

Buzzy - not sure if it counts as nesting but today I plan to address and write out all my Christmas cards, leaving a blank under "with love from...." so we can add in the baby's name! Hopefully it will come before we have to post the distant ones (eg Australia) otherwise they'll just have to put up with "and baby"....

claraquitebignow · 27/11/2007 09:20

Melly - your Christmas sounds lovely. Are you going to buy any presents for the new baby? All I have done so far is get a present from dd for the baby so she (dd) can feel part of it. But I guess the baby won't have a clue what's going on....

Wizzska · 27/11/2007 09:24

Christmas tree already Buzzy! You are organised. I'm resisting the temptation to put one up yet. I want to do it before due date of Sunday, but I'm trying to resist until the following week. Baby will probably be late I'm telling myself.

I've bought lots of stuff for making a trifle, and a christmas pud. Am not making the pudding this year.

More bad news yesterday from my work. A colleague rang me and said she'd been made redundant too - so in the past month that's two employees out of a total of five! . They told me my job is safe before I left for ML, but am a little worried now. Couldn't sleep much last night. When I go back it will be just me and two directors working at the gallery .

Morning everyone!

HAPPY DUE DATE TO ME!!! Still absolutely no sign of a baby tho. Reckon she'll be here at the weekend as i have a sweep booked for Friday.......

Wizzska · 27/11/2007 09:26

As for christmas cards this year, DH has put a new shed/summer house up in the garden last weekend. We thought we'd do a nativity scene of us and the new baby boy in our new 'stable' and send them out.

Wizzska · 27/11/2007 09:26

Happy due date RG, how are you feeling?

RGPargy · 27/11/2007 09:28

Thanx Wizzska! I'm feeling frustrated!! Just want the baby out now so that i can bend in the middle again lol.

mellymooks · 27/11/2007 09:32

Hi Clara- I'm sure I won't be able to resist buying something (or maybe a few things!) for our little one!

Happy due date RG!

Feeling very Christmassy today think I may have a gentle stroll to the shops and buy a few decorations. We're gonna get the tree at the wkd and put it up - am so excited - first ever xmas in our own home together!

suey2 · 27/11/2007 09:32

RG, i confess to being a little envious! still 10 days to my DD

SarahPT · 27/11/2007 09:35

Morning everybody !

Glad it's not just me who's started christmas so early this year

Today is definitely christmas card writing day

Just waiting for m/w to come and visit for 39 week visit (!!) then will start after that. Might even dig out a cheesey Xmas CD to listen to!

Wizzska - Sunday's my due date too so hope you're doing OK.

RG - Happy due date !

loucee · 27/11/2007 09:37

Buzzy - good nesting! We're putting our Christmas decs up on Saturday, I'm not due until 17th but that gives me plenty of time to teach/explain to DD (21months) that she isn't to pull it down and what she can/can't touch! Also means the boxes will be packed nicely back up in the loft before LO arrives.

RGP - woohoo happy due date! Time for a clary sage bath.

I really can't get on with this perenium massage, find it really difficult to reach and it feels gross so don't want to ask DH to do it.

Off to the shops to try and get some pictures for the nursery.

claraquitebignow · 27/11/2007 09:37

Sarah, people think I'm a bit wierd when I tell them I have already bought and wrapped all my presents - until I remind them I have a baby due 1 dec which could therefore come any time between well now and approx 14 Dec and the last thing I am going to want to worry about is Christmas shopping!

They usually concede that I am right to do things in advance....
