@WolfMother326 doesn’t sound like a great start! Our branch were quite open that classes were likely to shift online and that we would get a discount if so. The idea of a full weekend in video call made me book evening ones- which means I start a little early and hope I’m not too out of sync with the other mums for it to be beneficial - although at least it means I can learn from everyone else!!

@Magik01 I had a weird pain into my bum a couple of days but it seems to have settled - hope yours does too.

I actually feel like I’ve got to the nice bit that everyone talks about Smile Anxiety had eased, bump is on show & I’ve let all those that matter to me know. Feeling exited about babies arrival and the coming year (even if there is a surge #3 forecast for Oct Hmm), not too tired, aches/pains all eased by walking/swimming, occasional heart burn, but that really is all - so can’t complain!

Have a good weekend all, fingers crossed the sun keeps shining.

Has anyone had a sore bump? I am really sore today - achy when walking and bump around belly Button actually hurts if I touch it round there.

Inmypjsagain · 23/04/2021 18:02

Hi all, happy Friday! I am knackered, I ended up falling asleep at 8pm last night and surprised myself that I slept through until 7:30 today! Yet I still felt shattered. How?!

Sorry I’m quite behind so don’t want to be dragging up old bits of convo!

@Ready2020 oh no no fun with the anemia, I’d like to think they’re aware of your history and you’re being monitored... but I’d still mention to your consultant.

@Whatshouldbemyusername hope you get to bottom of this 25 week business. It just seems to me like the world is opening up, we’re expected back at work etc and maternity services are really staying closed- even though you’d think pregnant women would be more cautious than others because we know the COVID risks?

@PurplePansy05 it came with foundation makes?! That’s awful! Thanks for the heads up, I will avoid.

Our NCT has gone online too, we get a 15% discount (which is £50, still irks me this isn’t a standard because I thought maybe our fees would be higher because of location cost or something) I’m trying to look at others because it’s not the content I’m so worried about- I can get that free on the nhs, but it was meeting people. I wonder how many others will cancel because of this and am wondering if I should download peanut, see what happens and then decide. I’ve been on the bump and babies waitlist since Feb :( I just really hate zoom, the whole can you hear me? You’re on mute etc. Just sums up my 2020!

Inmypjsagain · 23/04/2021 18:05

Re: sore bump, I’ve had twinges but not constantly sore. It’s my legs which ache most. Is everyone else’s aches constant?

My belly button is looking weird though, I can see the middle bit is stretching and I’ve had a belly piercing so it looks... odd shall we say!

Inmypjsagain · 23/04/2021 18:09

Also I tagged @Ready2020 in my post instead of @Smurf123! I’m sorry, your usernames aren’t even similar! 🤦 blame baby brain...

Ready2020 · 23/04/2021 18:31

@Magik01 I get that too but I pulled a muscle badly a few weeks back from my lower back down my right butt cheek. I was bending down and it just went. I couldn't move and had to call my OH to help me. Took me 20 minutes to get to the next room. Even now I can only walk about 20 minutes until then I need to rest as my lower back gets sore.

My baby was long in the leg too Grin Though it's inevitable as we're both from tall families. Hope that means she's tall and slim so will just slide out... 😬

lucyrp · 23/04/2021 19:23

@Smurf123 yes! Went to pick up some lunch and as I was walking back to my car I had some really sore aches in my bump !

Daffodil21 · 23/04/2021 19:33

@HopefulB I was thinking exactly the same today! It helps that we had a good scan today and I've finished work so I don't have to deal with my boss anymore. Heartburn has eased a bit now we've started eating a little earlier (and I've changed medicine!). The only thing that's really annoying is back pain. It's not constant but after walking/standing, so I'm going to start using a chair when I prep dinner! Glad you're in an enjoyable place too!

Does anyone else keep waking up on their back?? I don't know what's wrong with me but I keep doing it, even though I have a pregnancy pillow!!

Smurf123 · 23/04/2021 19:33

@lucyrp im glad it isn't just me. I phoned the midwife assessment unit and she's told me to take pain relief and see if it eases if not phone back.
It's been fairly constant since about 2 o'clock. Then when I walked with my son round the farm for an hour I was really struggling with it. Baby also feels like they are quite low today so I don't.know if that's part of it.

lucyrp · 23/04/2021 19:35

@Daffodil21 yes most nights I wake on my back!

Smurf123 · 23/04/2021 19:36

@wimbler thanks I'll ask about spatone and no haven't tried magnesium I'll see if I can get hold of some of it over the weekend! Thanks

PurplePansy05 · 23/04/2021 20:25

I may have found the comfiest bra in pregnancy! I've ordered Bravado from JMB and I've been wearing it all day today. It's superb. Stretchy, comfy, soft, ticks all the boxes! It is also pretty supportive for a soft bra, ideally I always want a lot of support but I've conceded this only comes with wired bras which are not my friend right now. Anyway if anyone is looking to buy from them, this is a good choice 👍 I must be at least a 36E now I reckon, possibly even going towards 38E and the large one is great. xx

LyraShaeLilly · 23/04/2021 20:38

@Daffodil21

Yes I wake up in my back, The first time it happened I kicked DH out and sent him to the spare room as there is not enough room in our double for him, a pregnant me and the pillow, I thought the lack of room was making me roll back over to my back.

But it happened last night as well, Baby gave me a good kick once I was up and I though phew no harm done!!

I've never been a back sleeper so it must be something to do with having the bump.

Ive been getting a sore bump too, it feels more like a constant stitch when moving though rather than soreness!!

Ready2020 · 23/04/2021 20:43

I end up on my back a lot. I sometimes sleep with the pregnancy pillow wedged under one butt cheek so I'm not on my back but still get relief from being on my side.

I've been feeling kinda dizzy this evening. OK when sat down but when I stand up it or move I feel like I might keel over. I'll put it down to a busy work day and head to bed soon.

Daffodil21 · 23/04/2021 20:44

@LyraShaeLilly interesting you say that - I find I roll on my back more when DH isn't there (he snores so I usually end up kicking him out!). When he's there there isn't really enough room for us two, my pregnancy pillow and both the cats, and space for me to roll over. When he's not there I usually end up diagonal across the bed, and on my back 🙈 I don't think I was a back sleeper before either!

Ready2020 · 23/04/2021 20:45

(can I not edit posts here?)

My OH has been in the spare room for a month now! We both sleep better though I miss him. He says he'll be back once baby is here but I'll be up feeding most nights so we'll see how long that lasts.

PurplePansy05 · 23/04/2021 21:00

Am I the only one using my DH to keep me on my side? He sleeps close to one arm of my pregnancy pillow which stops me from rolling over Blush I only do so when my hip pain starts and that's really gane over with proper sleep. But I prop myself up instead of being completely flat. I'll be chatting to my MW about it next week, I hope this will be ok in the third trimester too, otherwise I'll really struggle with my hip. My physiotherapist concluded my left side is more sensitive to pain and also weaker because I had quite a serious knee injury before and apparently my left hip isn't supported as well as it should be. I have exercises, but nothing much will help at night unfortunately. xx

Daffodil21 · 23/04/2021 21:06

@PurplePansy05 I would do if he wasn't such a fig horn 😂😩 when he's there at the start of the night I don't roll over

Inmypjsagain · 23/04/2021 22:35

I’m also waking up on my back, I’m sure I never slept on my back either but like others, sleeping on my side makes my pelvis ache. I think it’s breathlessness we need to look out for.

I’m sorry the TMI, but l am so constipated 😭 I was on the loo wondering if this could induce birth 😂 honestly food wise- I’m still suffering with sickness and mouth tastes like I’ve eaten a dead mouse, but without fail every day I have porridge with blueberries and another frozen Berry (raspberries at the mo) with flaxseed. My “pudding” every day is bran flakes (yuk)- I really struggle to eat veggies but force them down (they make me sick though) and I eat every fruit going, except bananas, because they can be bad for digestion. I can’t take fybogel- instant throw up. I’ve been taking laxatives and still this issue- I must have quadrupled my fibre intake. I try my best with 2 litres of water, but im sick at least once a day so that must impact it? Anyone have any magic cures or anything I’m missing? Or do I just accept this is my life til the baby is out!!

BertieBotts · 23/04/2021 22:54

I don't worry too much about being on my back, I figure if it's uncomfortable I'll roll over naturally.

I asked my doctor about constipation today and she suggested magnesium but did warn that it can go the other way and make it worse so if it does stop taking it.

Inmypjsagain · 23/04/2021 23:13

Thank you Bertie, I’ve got magnesium tablets from pre pregnancy, I’ll just google the pregnancy safe dosage to make sure it’s ok. At this point I’d be happy for it to go the other way!

Dia12 · 24/04/2021 00:25

Just catching up after a busy week decluttering the house and endless to-do lists. I've made it my mission to bring some order back to the house before baby arrives and boy have we accumulated a lot of junk.
It's getting scary and exciting all at once at the thought of approaching third trimester.

Glad to hear your appt went well @wimbler & @Daffodil21!
Have you noticed a growth spurt in the size of your bump in the past couple of weeks?
I'm almost 25w and feel like bump has really "popped" in the last few days.

Me three with the safari theme!!
Love the jungle changing mat @Whatshouldbemyusername. And I'm so glad I'm not the only one splurging on a nice changing mat @PurplePansy05 - really like the Mama Shack ones. I actually ended up getting a woven changing basket, totally unnecessary, but I'm so in love with it.

Our June NCT classes are now also online - they offered a 15% discount too but I'm so disappointed. DH was really looking forward to it too. I'm thinking of cancelling too, but not quite sure what other options there are.

Dia12 · 24/04/2021 00:27

Sounds awful @Inmypjsagain - I'm sorry you're really struggling. I've been suffering from constipation too but I've been able to keep fybogel down and it's helped.
I've also taken lactulose and some prunes each day which also helped. Do you think you'd be able to tolerate that?

BertieBotts · 24/04/2021 05:58

No I mean she said it can make you more constipated, so to watch out for that!

PurplePansy05 · 24/04/2021 06:58

@Dia12 @Whatshouldbemyusername I follow Fleur Harris's account on insta, I think she's Danish, an artist/designer? Anyway, she posts some of the most gorgeous animal themes ever. I am not spending a fortune on DS's nursery (although I may have just ordered lots of bits and bobs for decoration!) but I've been following her for a while and some of those are so nice to look at. I'm probably the biggest self-proclaimed hater of wallpaper, full stop, but the animal wallpapers there are just stunning 😍 Thought I'd share if you're looking for some inspo/just to look at something pretty 😁

I forgot to say, yesterday was a day of big deliveries! Cruz & Pebble 360 have arrived, alongside a carrycot stand which I got on sale (delighted). DH and I were putting them together late last evening and I'm so in love 😍 I am so happy that the buggy can take a narrow corner in my hall, that's going to make life sooo much easier. I saw someone last night selling a brand new Vista half price on Fb Marketplace because they took it for a ride around the house and then it wouldn't fit through her cottage door/hall 😱 How bad. I am Mrs Prepped but I would have made the same mistake had it not been for MN chats. You sometimes don't expect things to be the size they are, even with measuring up!

Today DH is planning to fix the 360 base in his car, I shall report back (wish us luck!) 😁

I am off for lunch with my close friend, she only lives 20 miles away and we haven't seen each other for 6 months. We talk a lot, but I've missed her so much. I am going to ask her to be my birth partner in case DH can't do it if he was to have covid, touch wood. Unlikely, but I'd much rather not be alone!

Hope you all have a good weekend xx
