Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hi everyone, don't post very often but read everyone elses. Have heard the heart beat at the midwifes today. Also had the triple blood test. This is my third baby but 1st time I've had the test. Came out wishing I'd not had it as feel so unsure of what I'd do next if the risk high (nuchal scan not offered in my area). Sorry to sound so down but feel it after going in looking forward to hearing FH and coming out on a big downer. How did everyone else feel about the tests?

scorpio1 · 14/11/2007 14:26

I just felt that i would use any result i had as a possible 'warning' sign-so if there could be something wrong then i could get prepared.

Piccalilli2 · 14/11/2007 14:33

Scorpio1, you and me are going to find out what we're having on the same day (assuming our babies cooperate, that is!) what time is your scan?

scorpio1 · 14/11/2007 14:35

11.10, should be back at home about 12.30. then will announce. You?

Mollyfloss · 14/11/2007 14:49

Maybe some of you won't like this idea and if you don't no problem, it's just a suggestion. I was wondering if we could put our ages next to our nick names on the list? It's just I have a hard time remembering and when we talk about risk of downs and first babies etc it's sort of relevant and makes it easier to understand some of your comments. Does anyone know what I mean or is it an awful suggestion? Of course noone has to if they don't want. I can start with mine (32) and add in any others I know of from the profiles as I presume if it's on your profile you don't mind divulging you age

scorpio1 · 14/11/2007 14:50

I will be all of 23 next week

sagitta · 14/11/2007 14:56

Hi honeybee, sorry you are down after the test. It's best to wait and see how you feel when the results come out - there may be no point in worrying. I've just received a letter telling me 'I'm not at high risk' but that doesn't seem very specific - but then, the way I see it Spina bifida and DS aren't the worst things that can happen. And high risk, low risk - it's all a risk anyway. If you didn't want to know for first two dcs, and regret having tests now, then I'd just focus on happy things, like hearing LO's heartbeat. Sorry, what a waffle, just wanted to try to help. Probably didn't...

Lol at paranoidmummy's pizzahut experience. I'm sure their sauce hasn't been near blue cheese and you can eat it!

sagitta · 14/11/2007 15:00

34

EllieG · 14/11/2007 15:05

Ooo scorpio you baby!
Am 29.
My 30th birthday is next June, and realised that before it hits I will have been:

Married
Divorced
Pregnant twice
Had one baby
Married again

And all in the space of the last 2 years. Phew! I'm hoping my next decade is a bit calmer tbh. If not am going to go on Jeremy Kyle or sell my sordid tales to Take a Break for 200 quid.

still think I'm 21 and in the Uni bar playing some sort of daft driniking game then I remember I'm 32 and about to become a mum

Soph73 · 14/11/2007 15:51

You can add my age if you like, I don´t mind - 34, my birthday´s in March so will be 35 just before lo is born Think I´m feeling movement this afternoon

Soph73 · 14/11/2007 15:53

sheds - aahhh 21 I remember those dim and distant days

paranoidmummy · 14/11/2007 16:00

sagitta you do realise i WILL be taking your word on that... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm i feel like pizza tonight like pizza tonight.

I'm 24 but bday is in march so will be 25 before baby arrives in april.

i think mine's being a bit wriggly at the mo too soph

Soph73 · 14/11/2007 16:05

paranoid - now you´ve made me think about pizza ... mmmmmm Have recently found a really good pizza place near us & really good value for money as well so may have to convince DH that he needs pizza. Don´t have to convince DS as he´d eat pizza all day every day given the chance.

Sheds75 · 14/11/2007 16:15

it may have to be a takeaway for us tonight, apparently we have to go out and celebrate the outcome of todays scan . I think DP is pleased we are having a son

VictorianSqualor · 14/11/2007 16:23

I'm 26, will be 27 in january.
Is someone going to put down the sex of the babies on the list??

paranoidmummy · 14/11/2007 16:34

i would vs but i will prob mess it up! I'm eagerly waiting for a techy bod to do it tho!

smcg · 14/11/2007 16:47

Peachy, Sheds and Siameez, congrats on your boys

I can't wait to find out what I am having!

Honeybee, sorry you are worried.

I am trying to find a new apartment, what a pain in the ass! We need an unfurnished place as we brought all our furniture back from the US, most apartments are let unfurnished over there but it doesn't seem to be as common in London

SMCG, the 35 year old granny.

Mollyfloss · 14/11/2007 16:53

Ok, I've collected as many of your ages as possible (took a long time!) but will wait until tomorrow to post it, in case anymore of you lovely ladies come foward in the meantime. It means I won't have to repost the long list with updates several times and take up tons of room.

On another note, I am getting a little tired of everyone saying how big I am or as many don't hesitate in saying, how 'fat' I am! they don't hold back! Ok so maybe I've put on 7 or maybe 8 kilos but having generally referred to as being slim for my whole life I'm finding some of these comments a bit hard to digest. Please some of you experienced Mum's tell me that the weight just falls off after the baby pops out

VictorianSqualor · 14/11/2007 16:56

You're a grandma SMCG??? at 35??? crikey.

Mollyfloss, it differs, with DD i came out of the hospital in a size eight, with ds I came out in a 14 (BUT I was wearing size 22 when i went in!)

MassiveMollyfloss · 14/11/2007 16:58

Well, I've taken the hint from everyone around me and hence changed my name

Has anyone in a previous pregnancy put on a lot of weight in the first 4 months and then not so much after that?

smcg · 14/11/2007 16:58

I feel like an old lady sometimes, VictorianSqualor, with my bad hips!

Molly, people are just plain rude.

SuzeM · 14/11/2007 17:11

Another name change.
I'm bored of using my initials as my nickname but can't think of anything witty so now I'm SuzeM.

MassiveMollyfloss · 14/11/2007 17:13

SuzeM, you were smcg right? sorry, i'm a bit dim...

Piccalilli2 · 14/11/2007 17:18

Scorpio, my scan's at 10:50 so should know before you, just...but am going out for lunch with dh so you'll beat me to the announcement.

I'm 32 and don't mind admitting it although some of you make me feel very old. I was way, way too immature to be responsible for a baby in my mid-twenties so I am very in awe of all you youngsters.

You're all very bad with your pizza talk, I really really want pizza now. I ahve been such a pig today already.
