Thank you @PurplePansy05 🥰 I think so too, but perhaps I’m bias!

That’s an incredible deal to get on market place and being typically the thing you’d go for!

Has anyone got an opinion on maternity jeans or where’s best? Over/under bump etc? I’m going to have admit defeat on the last pair that fit very soon 😭 x

Dia12 · 02/04/2021 11:05

Lots of posts to catch up on! Thank you for sharing all the useful information.
Congrats to those who have had their 20w scans, lovely pics of your little ones - can't believe we're half way!

@Carefree1 I got some overbump jeans from new look and they are really comfortable. I also got a pair of underbump jeans from asos but they really aren't as comfortable and bending over is a nightmare. I'm constantly having to yank them up. I've ordered a couple more from Dorothy Perkins but they have yet to arrive. It's such a pain having to order/return online...can't wait for shops to open.

Super proud of myself, I've finally managed to do some exercise! I followed a cardio workout by Amy from Bodyfit on YouTube. She's 21w pregnant in the video too and so gave me a bit more confidence in her workout.
I was feeling quite upset with myself with the excess weight I've put on and looking like a baby whale already.

BertieBotts · 02/04/2021 11:09

Over for sure. Under are just annoying. Very loose stretchy trousers are OK to be under, I find, but not jeans.

MrsB2019x · 02/04/2021 11:36

@Carefree1 I could not recommend Alex jeans by Dorothy Perkins enough 🙌 so comfy!

Beautiful scans everybody 🥰

PurplePansy05 · 02/04/2021 11:42

@Carefree1 I'm firmly in the over the bump team now too - earlier on I preferred under the bump but definitely not now. Today I'm actually wearing stretchy jeans from Dorothy Perkins that were always too big for me and now they finally fit just fine! Very stretched, mind 🤣 I have over the bump jeans from New Look and love them xx

lucyrp · 02/04/2021 11:49

Over the bump all the way! Trying to brave it in dresses now 🥶

Carefree1 · 02/04/2021 11:54

Thanks for all the Jean recommendations ladies! I did think that under bump might be a bit annoying and I’d be worried of flashing 😂 x

HopefulB · 02/04/2021 12:02

I can’t face looking for jeans - I struggle to find ones that fit well when I’m not pregnant. I’m hoping to wing it with 2 pairs of maternity leggings and floaty/stretchy tops & dresses until it’s warm enough for shorts. I’ve ordered dungaree shorts as I figured they can be adjusted so not tight on bump.

Daffodil21 · 02/04/2021 12:08

You're all so functioning! I basically just live in maternity leggings 😂 I have one pair of maternity jeans from ASOS but as @Dia12 I am constantly pulling them up!

MrsB2019x · 02/04/2021 13:38

@Daffodil21 Ha don’t be fooled I’m in my maternity leggings 90% of the time, I only put my jeans on when I have to leave the house 😂

lucyrp · 02/04/2021 14:20

@Daffodil21 I have 2 pairs of maternity leggings from ASOS and I got fed up of wearing the same outfit over and over so I bought a dress the other day and I'm obsessed. Need to get some more

Smallbean27 · 02/04/2021 16:10

Congrats @Carefree1 I also had my 20w yesterday. My husband knows the gender and he is going to surprise me next week! Its weird him knowing but it is exciting.

Well done @Dia12! You must be feeling really good about yourself for it 😊 we went for a really long dog walk today and my hips are killing me now, think I may have overdone it (the dog is totally passed out though, so still a success!)

@Smallbean27 ooh that is exciting! Have you got a special occasion you're waiting for to find out? I found it really odd that the sonographer knew for us but we didn't, as she finds out every time

PurplePansy05 · 02/04/2021 16:24

Ooh @Smallbean27 congratulations, I have a suspicion re what you're having 😊

We had a lovely day today, went for a long coastal walk and then had pancakes with fruit. The alternative of stripping the wallpaper somehow wasn't that appealing 🤣 xx

Smallbean27 · 02/04/2021 17:19

@biscuitcat It is our wedding anniversary on 15th but I don't think he can keep it that long 😂.
@PurplePansy05 aah! I will let you know, when I do 🙂. Yummy pancakes!

WolfMother326 · 02/04/2021 17:24

Lovely scan photo @Carefree1 - congratulations!

@Smallbean27 - also so nice to see that great scan. Funny that your husband knows and you don't! I'm the opposite as I know from seeing things on the scan and he doesn't, but he doesn't want me to tell him at all. Not sure I can keep it a secret til the baby is born tbh!

WolfMother326 · 02/04/2021 17:25

Curious if anyone has thoughts about rocking chairs? I'm from the US and it seems like an indispensible nursery item there, but here no one seems to mention them much?

Smallbean27 · 02/04/2021 17:31

@WolfMother326 thats a long time to keep it secret! I would be too fearful of letting a he/she out accidentally!

HopefulB · 02/04/2021 17:39

@Dia12, well done on the exercise! It’s amazing how long your heart rate will stay raised and keep you burning calories, so a short/gentle pregnancy specific class, a walk or a swim are great for you- do you feel better for it?

@WolfMother326, I’d love a rocking chair, have always fancied one, but not sure where I can fit one, it definitely won’t be baby/nursing specific if I do manage to find space!

@PurplePansy05 pancakes and a good walk definitely sound like the right choice there! You’ve made me a think about pancakes for breakfast now....

PurplePansy05 · 02/04/2021 17:40

@WolfMother326 Good question. I saw quite a few opinions that not only a rocking chair is unnecessary but that generally nursing chairs aren't all that practical. Part of me wonders whether to focus on using my Kally pillow for BF, I can take it with me to different rooms. I was also thinking whether this is to do with SIDS advice to prevent you and baby falling asleep in a chair if you're tired. The final point which is what I'm reading about now is sleep patterns, different guides recommend different things such as for example not feeding immediately before bed, when the baby gets older creating a routine whereby you're not necessarily in the nursery much so the baby can learn to go back to sleep without your constant presence for comfort etc. No idea how true all this is in practice though.
I love the look of rocking chairs but I'm not convinved this is a must buy xx

PurplePansy05 · 02/04/2021 17:41

@HopefulB Go for them tomorrow! I had a whole pack of raspberries with them, some blueberries, yoghurt and a bit of honey. Lovely 🥰 xx

DeusEx · 02/04/2021 19:03

Argh this thread is going so fast - so hard to keep up!

Daffodil21 · 02/04/2021 19:15

@lucyrp I'm waiting until a bit closer to summer then I'm hoping cases will be low and actual shops will be open so I can get stuff in the size I will be. Going to coast by on the small amount of maternity stuff I do have until then. I've looked online for nice dresses though and so far haven't found anything I like. Where did you get yours from?

@DeusEx ah the perils of wfh (naughty I know!) and not being able to go anywhere 😂

lucyrp · 02/04/2021 19:21

@Daffodil21 just from ASOS ! Had a scroll through their selection. I like both floaty and bodycon dresses. I don't usually wear them because worry about my belly but of course my belly isn't a worry at the moment 😂
