Lovely pics @Champson, glad your 20w scan went well, it must be so cool seeing all three together.

I think I've started feeling something but I'm really not sure if it's just my tummy grumbling. It does feel like a bubble popping but I'm not sure I believe myself just yet. I'm 20w+2 and FTM so I might have a bit longer to wait.

That's a great selection of unisex baby outfits @BertieBotts. I've started having a snoop at clothes too now. It's starting to feel exciting.

biscuitcat · 30/03/2021 23:18

Thank you for all the tips and ideas everyone, I'm feeling very inspired now ☺️ @PurplePansy05 I do have a Halifax account so will check that out - I agree, Jojo stuff is pricy at full whack!

@Carefree1 I love the Claybear stuff! I'm hoping they restock as my very favourite design (the little woodland creature romper) is out of stock in smaller sizes and it's so expensive that I can't really justify a shopping spree of all the stuff I love for something that'll only last a couple of months!

@BertieBotts the little penguin vest is so sweet 🥰 and all really lovely bits

Congratulations @Champson, how lovely that they're all healthy and looking good! How are you feeling in yourself? I can't imagine what it must be like having three cooking away in there!

Champson · 30/03/2021 23:40

@BertieBotts actually the top two are the twins and the bottom one is the singleton! Weird to see their little faces. I still haven’t felt a THING. Crazy as they were so wriggly in there. I’m sure will come soon enough and once it does I’ll be worried about any lapses in movement. The worry never stops for about 18 yrs I guess?!? Haha. @Dia12 good description for what it feels like - will keep my attention on my tummy!

@biscuitcat thank you!! Feeling pretty good thanks for asking! Feeling large and in charge haha. I think the beautiful weather today made me so much happier - also made me realise I only have maternity pants and no shorts!! Probably need to sort something!! Starting to get a little stressed about work - I started my own business a year ago with someone so not a great time to be off. Ah well we will figure it.

Magik01 · 30/03/2021 23:50

@lucyrp lovely scan, I’m saying boy 💙

@biscuitcat F&F at Tesco have some nice unisex bits in, mostly animal themed for WWF, I picked up this just before my 20 week scan as I couldn’t resist 🙊 got a slightly bigger size so it will be winter once he’s wearing it!

@Champson So crazy that you’ve got three in there! Things with sort themselves out re the business, you’ll fine a way to make it work. ☺️

@Champson Beautiful scan, I'm so glad they're all doing well! I just find the fact there's 3 of them in there and they're so big already mindblowing! Did you say before that they may be coming by C-section at around 29 weeks? Would they keep you longer than that? That's insane to think they could be here in around 2 months?! xx

PurplePansy05 · 31/03/2021 07:25

@Biscuitcat I'm loving your selection so far, we're going for very similar stuff from what I can tell 😊

If you or anyone else has the Blue Light Card via civil service then check out their discounts too, there's definitely one on JMB regularly, but also on baby brands. I have lots of friends using it regularly.

Gosh, I've turned into THAT person, looking up and activating every single discount code on earth before buying lol. But it does help and so glad we can share on here! xx

Champson · 31/03/2021 08:15

@PurplePansy05 it’s so hard to tell. The average term for trips is 32 weeks which for us is 27 June. The minimum date they’ve told us to aim for is 28 weeks as they have much better chance of survival without disabilities after that date - and that’s 30 May. So needing them to wait until at least June, but July would be excellent if possible!!! The longer they cook the better!

WolfMother326 · 31/03/2021 09:25

Really beautiful photos @Champson, must have been so nice to see all three girls up close!

@wimbler and @PurplePansy05 - Thanks for your support on my pelvic pain. I did call the midwife and they've signed me up to see the physio in about two weeks' time, but said hopefully it will be better before then. I've also found some exercises online to try. Today I do feel it less, but I've got a fun new symptom (dizziness). Just going to take it easy!

Daffodil21 · 31/03/2021 09:30

Lovely @Champson ! You'll certainly be kept busy! It never even occurred to me about cots etc for triplets!

wimbler · 31/03/2021 09:34

@WolfMother326 glad you got a referral. I had a big old argument with my insurer yesterday as it turns out my physio won't be covered as it's caused by pregnancy! they don't cover complications or treatment for problems caused by pregnancy which seems wildly sexist and unfair especially since my previous insurer did cover it. If I told them I slipped and fell and hurt myself though that would be ok they said Hmm
I did my weekly yoga class last night and my pain is so much better today though so it might be worth trying some youtube videos to see if that helps too?

WolfMother326 · 31/03/2021 09:40

@wimbler that is so ridiculous. I actually gave up the private health insurance I had through DH's job because it didn't cover anything related to maternity care or my IBD, so for me relatively useless at this stage in my life. Might take it back next year after the baby.

Yoga videos are a good idea. I'm going to stop work a bit early today and do some self care, then taking tomorrow off to have a longer Easter weekend. On Sunday I think I'll still go for the swimming session I signed up for, and just approach it gently. Swimming is actually recommended to help as long as you avoid the breast stroke/frog kicking.

PurplePansy05 · 31/03/2021 09:45

@wimbler @WolfMother326 My private policy through work is the same, it's disgustingly sexist! A typical money saving by an insurer as they know we'd actually use it then! For me they've also excluded anxiety and depression because I suffered from low mood after 3 MCs, can you believe it. The cheek of it. Not to mention MC care or aftercare wasn't covered either. It winds me up so much, absolute fuckers. I hope our kids' generation will continue to call out this blatant inequality and inadequacy xx

HopefulB · 31/03/2021 10:12

Aww @Champson, lovely pics and delighted all 3 are doing well. Weird timing as I was just thinking yesterday you hadn’t posted in a while & wondered how you were getting on with triple joy/trouble.

Just booked myself a shopping appointment for May at independent car seat/pushchair retailer. So that’s April’s pay spent!

Can’t remember who it was who recommended starting reading about breastfeeding early.... I got myself The Food of Love and The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding from the library - will report back!

BertieBotts · 31/03/2021 12:10

Oh I am so jealous of The Food of Love, I wanted to buy it last pregnancy but never got around to it, I would like to buy it again now but unsure if I can justify! I don't think it will have any new info for me so it's really just the pictures I want :o

Independent nursery specialists are brill - you'll get a really good idea of what's on offer and what should suit you.

wimbler · 31/03/2021 12:18

@HopefulB I'd really recommend the Kellymom website as a breastfeeding resource. I'd be interested to see what you make of the Womanly Art of Breastfeeding book. I personally found it very preachy and far too partisan for my liking. It is written by La Leche League who I think are a great support network for breastfeeding but I would just say approach the book content with a pinch of salt.

BertieBotts · 31/03/2021 15:47

I found the Womanly Art quite good, but I did get it for 99p on Kindle. If it was more expensive then maybe not.

Whatshouldbemyusername · 31/03/2021 15:59

Ladies I've been MIA for almost 2 weeks! I've missed sooo much! Were finally moved in (almost) and I got my new job start date too - 19th April. So a lot been going on. Went to the preterm clinic today as during a routine Pap smear last year was told I had a short cervix. I insisted and got booked in today. Looks like I don't have a short cervix after all. The Sonographer was so nice - let me listen to bubbas heart beat and also let me take a pic of his/her face! 🥰🥰🥰. I have my 20 week scan in a week.

I have seen a few scans and congratulations to all of you ! Beautiful scans and can't wait for mine next week. Although any guesses as to whether it's a boy or girl based on this pic of the face?

Xx

And (sorry can I say this enough?) Waterproof mattress protectors for your OWN bed. (The cot size/single size aren't a bad price either to be fair).

Looking for opinions ladies! My sister is getting married in December and we're planning her hen do at the moment for the start of that month - would it be realistic for me to go to a hen do then leaving baby with DH/my mum, and if so, would overnight be OK or one day only? Both in terms of practicalities and the emotional reality of leaving a still quite tiny baby. I'm hoping to still be breastfeeding then which probably complicates matters (and I really know very little about the pros/cons of pumping etc. - need to get some of the books you've been recommending!).

Alittlexmasmagic · 31/03/2021 18:04

@biscuitcat worst case scenario can your DH or mum also come up & stay nearby/with you? Then you can nip out to do feeds etc or DH can bring baby to you? Best of both worlds x

OP posts:
BertieBotts · 31/03/2021 18:49

IME I would be in no way ready to leave my baby at that age. Possibly for a few hours, I did go to a Christmas market in the evening when DS2 was about that old, but defo not overnight and probably not for a whole day either.

But everyone is different.

What is the blue light card? Am a civil servant and unaware of this!

PurplePansy05 · 31/03/2021 22:51

@DeusEx www.bluelightcard.co.uk/ you'd need to check if your organisation is included.

PurplePansy05 · 31/03/2021 23:07

@biscuitcat Obviously no personal experience in this yet, but I can't imagine leaving a 3-4 month old overnight or even for a full day when you're BF. Maybe few hours. But then are you set on BF? Perhaps you could do a full day if not?

@Whatshouldbemyusername Congratulations on a lovely scan! I think it's a boy. 🥰

So my little boy has been very quiet today, I hope he's ok. I've been dying of heartburn all day, don't know what to do with myself 😔 xx
