hello charleypops and congratulations. There seems to be a little group of us all quite close together - we'll have to get our little ones together when they arrive!

I am looking about 6 months pg. I am into all maternity clothes now - saw off my last pair of real trousers on Monday! They are really telling the truth when they say you show quicker with your second. DP is already moaning that I'm taking up more than half the bed!

Hi Fisil. A local new baby meeting would be lovely! Let's hope the journey there is as smooth as possible. I can't imagine getting bigger. I'm still wearing the same clothes. Thought I saw the beginnings this morning then remembered I'd eaten one and a half curries (with rice) and a HUGE strawberry sundae the night before , and a bit later on (after a going to the loo) I was back to normal. Still doesn't feel real. I'm sure it will once I begin to grow though. I think it's totally fine to take up more than half the bed - there is 2 (well, one and a 5th or something) of you!

logic · 04/11/2004 20:50

I must admit, Myermay, that we have cut down on sex considerably lately . I'm just too tired and after spending the afternoon cleaning baked beans off the stairs thanks to ds, I'm not really in the mood either! Toddlers really are the best contraceptives aren't they?

Still, last time, I went off it at first but then the hormones got me with a vengeance and I was pouncing on poor dh every time he walked in though the front door - so there is hope!

LittleB · 05/11/2004 12:06

Hi, we've cut down a bit too just feel to tired really, dp quite enjoyed trying and wished we'd had to try for a bit longer !
Brighteyes - my mums feet are size 2, me and my sister were 7lb6 and 7lb8 and she had a natural birth with both of us so I wouldn't worry about it.
Clothes are getting too tight too, have had to put away some trousers and I'm in some stretchy ones and a pair of maternty jeans. I've only got one pair of 'normal' work trousers I can fit into at the moment (being a countryside Ranger we have a uniform) and I don't want to wear others yet as I will attract comments and it isn't common knowledge at work yet (have told my manager and a couple of people who needed to know - we're planning next years work programme and they wanted to run walks with me in May!) I'm hoping that my scan will be ok on Thursday as then I will tell everyone !

Hi everyone, just spent 20 mins reading through and catching up with all your news. I had such a hectic week that I didnt get time to turn the computer on! Plus ds hates it and pulls my arm and tries to steal the mouse etc etc.By the time he is asleep at night and I have tidied up the bomb site that is our house I have to collapse on the couch and so goes another day in the life of northstar........

Good to hear all about scans and heartbeats, and slowly growing tummies I still haven't really gone public, but because i'm not at work its easier to hide in big jumpers and coats and that black poncho AGAIN

Thanks for that Northstar. Add on charleypops too!

logic · 06/11/2004 10:54

My due date has been brought forward by the scan to the 9th

logic · 06/11/2004 16:18

Well, I've got myself a birthing ball now - and treated myself to a maternity dress for the antenatal Christmas do

Anyone going to see the fireworks tonight? It's raining here so we probably won't bother. Besides, it's X Factor night!

Brighteyes · 06/11/2004 19:21

So sick of X Factor - its just a slanging match between the judges.

Going to go the a display tomorrow with two of my nephews and their little friend. Hoping it won't rain they have been looking forward to it all week. Now I just need to find some clothes I can actually fit into so I can leave the house.

fisil · 06/11/2004 19:22

Glad we didn't go to a display. Took ds to the loft room to look at the fireworks. He said "see lights, see lights" excitedly for about 3 minutes, and then "cot now, go to sleep?". So that gives us another 3 years at least of not having to trudge around in the dank!

We've been watching the fireworks out of the window too and ds is fascinated. Glad that we didn't venture out though.

I haven't really tried the birthing ball yet because my back isn't too bad at the moment. Ds is enjoying bouncing it around the living room though.

I bought
this dress. Actually it looks better on than in the picture which is a miracle for me. Normally, I avoid dresses because they make me look like a bloke in drag - it must be my new funny shape that makes it work

We are actually going to Zizzis in Reading for the Christmas meal. I haven't been there before. I'm assuming that it's the same chain as the one that you went to, Myermay? Is the food nice?

fisil · 06/11/2004 19:48

Lovely dress!

logic · 06/11/2004 19:50

Thanks fisil. I am a bit nervous about the meal actually, because I expect that my friend who lost her baby recently will be there as well as us 4 pregnant people! It might be incredibly awkward but it would be worse if she didn't turn up because we are a very close group

She had a mc at 16 weeks Basically she doesn't want anyone to talk about it or contact her at all so I don't know how she is feeling!

logic · 06/11/2004 20:40

How much weight has everyone put on so far? I know that Brighteyes has lost weight but I don't seem to have gained any...

northstar · 06/11/2004 20:58

good evening everyone, good to know im not the only pg person at home on mn on sat.night
Ds with his dd, dp with his dd, so its just me and the tv tonight -
I have put on half a stone, was 9stone now 9 1/2 and very shocked because i was still squeezing into my normal clothes i just presumed i was still the same size.

OP posts:
Brighteyes · 06/11/2004 22:30

Well I'm still half a stone lighter than I was when I got pg not that you would believe it if you saw my bump and boobs. I look like I have put on at least a stone. Really need a shopping trip to get some new clothes, my sister has given me her maternity clothes but they are on the big side at the moment but sure I'll be wearing them soon.

They say you look bigger on your second so god help me next time round.

logic · 07/11/2004 12:03

That's the problem at the moment, isn't it Brighteyes? Maternity clothes are just too big. I tried to buy some new jeans yesterday and failed miserably. Under-the-bump jeans were completely the wrong shape and over-the-bump ones were huge. I think I'll have to buy some more ordinary jeans in a bigger size...

I don't know about being bigger the second time around but you definately show a lot earlier. I had put on half a stone by this point last time.

fisil · 08/11/2004 07:32

logic, I haven't put on any weight yet either - which means some part of my body must have lost it to make up for the bump! This happened to me last time, and I lost 1/2 a stone from my pre pg weight with ds - in just 18 months!

Why are we women? I am still bleeding (it's virtually black now, so must be very old), have had the runs all weekend, have a stinky cold and an inspection this week, and DS "slept" his first night in a big boys bed last night, and I'm nearly 4 months pg. DP is dying in bed from man flu (of which I have yet to see a symptom excpet whingeing) while I am at my desk at work having got the baby up, dressed him & made his bed ). I guess I could be in bed moaning if I wanted to .
