Joining the early morning club 👋

PurplePansy05 · 28/02/2021 07:28

Up as well, bright and early on a Sunday 🤣 xx

lucyrp · 28/02/2021 07:29

This week has honestly been the busiest I've had in a while. We also went for a walk yesterdag of about 3 and a half miles which is probably the longest I've done since being pregnant I'm ashamed to say 🤣 it was such lovely weather though yesterdag and hoping for the same again today. I'm so excited that spring is finally coming and I can't wait to get my washing out on the line outside and to get sorting the nursery etc 😁

PurplePansy05 · 28/02/2021 07:37

@lucyrp This sounds like how I wss feeling yesterday, I feel sometimes little things can tip me over the edge now, it must be hormonal 😂 No point in saying don't let it get to you cause it already has, but it will pass. Personally I'd get your OH to paint the room off white so it matches the furniture - no one will notice it's actually cream then. Or do a statement wall in a slightly warmer shade of white/off white/patterned, guaranteed success. Warm shade blankets will help too. Personally I prefer off white because it's likely to maintain it's colour better, a lot of white furniture gets discoloured in time if it's matte - hope this makes you feel a bit better! I actually don't think I'll buy white myself xx

lucyrp · 28/02/2021 07:54

@PurplePansy05 yes this was definitely me last night and I'd had a long day so was really tired too and tried to do a few jobs around the house before going to bed but ended up lying on the floor and having a meltdown mid job 😂 I'm not even bothered that its not white now I think I was just surprised because when we carried it into the house it looked a completely different colour to what I thought it looked outside and I was so confused. Only to find that they did the set in a white, cream and a grey 😂🙈 I do feel much better this morning actually! I think I'm also stressed because at the moment the nursery is just a mess because I have a big chest or drawers in there myself for my clothes and it's where I hang out washing to dry and my OH and his friend just plonked the stuff in the middle that we go and it looks such a mess 🤣 I can't even do anything about it yet as I need to buy a new chest of drawers for my bedroom to transfer the clothes across to before I can remove the big chest or drawers from the nursery. Hormones !! Xx

PurplePansy05 · 28/02/2021 08:11

That's the type of thing my DH would do too @lucyrp, I've seen it over and over again with our furniture in the past 2 days and it drives me nuts as I can't lift anything heavy myself! I'd love to move things around the way they should be ie the way I like it 🤣 Definitely hormones, I've had several spells of crying/moaning/swearing out loud to myself 🤣 xx

HopefulB · 28/02/2021 08:51

Morning! I had a little cry for absolutely no reason this morning too, was actually thinking about something positive. Lockdown and Hormones is a strange combination!

@lucyrp & @PurplePansy05, we’re not even thinking about a nursery yet - you are way ahead!

Carefree1 · 28/02/2021 08:53

Morning all, hope you’ve had a nice weekend so far!

@lucyrp I feel you in the clutter and having to move clothes out of the nursery! What will be the nursery is currently my dressing room 😫 so need to find home for wardrobes and draws. We live in a chalet bungalow, so the sloped ceilings make it difficult and that’s stressing me out!

I saw something about movements and I’ve not felt anything at all, so got me a little worried. Feeling better that I’m not alone! Xx

lucyrp · 28/02/2021 08:53

@HopefulB I promised I wouldn't until about 30 weeks! But I knew exactly what furniture I wanted and as they don't make it anymore had to get it second hand and came across a bargain so couldn't leave it. That and just randomly some days I will wake up now with the urge to sort certain things out and the urge is very strong at the moment 🤣

PurplePansy05 · 28/02/2021 08:58

@HopefulB I haven't even got anything bought or selected, I'm talking about our usual furniture after the move 🤣 Nursery won't happen before June! xx

MrsB2019x · 28/02/2021 09:16

Hormones are strange! Me and DH were playing some games last night and apparently pregnant me really doesn’t deal well with losing 🤣 I usually hate sore losers but I have become one now! Ugh! 😂

@lucyrp Our spare room is a tip/laundry room too! We need to get our bedroom done first before we tackle the nursery, but it’s going to be mammoth 😩

Alittlexmasmagic · 28/02/2021 10:10

I can't buy anything as we have literally nowhere to store it. When the house is finished April/May time then it'll be all systems go. The plus side is every room will be empty so nothing will need clearing. Baby stuff can all be unpacked straight into it's rightful place.x

lucyrp · 28/02/2021 10:14

@MrsB2019x it's such a small room aswell so no room for rubbish 🤣 i only need to buy a chest of drawers for our room and then move my dressing table to accommodate and then pass the larger chest of drawers from the nursery to my mum. I also during that need to sort my actual clothes as I probably won't be wearing most of them for a year or so 🙈

BertieBotts · 28/02/2021 10:56

Yeah, my wardrobe is a total mess of maternity, non maternity, in between, random stuff I have no idea what to do with etc.

DS was up for the day but DH got up at 9 and sent me back to bed! Now he's making lunch and I'm lying in bed on my phone :o

MrsB2019x · 28/02/2021 11:01

@BertieBotts Mine is the same!

@lucyrp I’m dreading the no room for clutter thing.. we can’t get into our loft so our spare room is currently the only place we can put things like the box for the TV, Christmas tree etc! I think you’ll feel quite accomplished after sorting out your clothes and stuff 😁

lucyrp · 28/02/2021 11:23

I have just found a rash under one of my breasts, I remember it being itchy last night but only just seen what it looks like. Should I be worried !

biscuitcat · 28/02/2021 11:45

@lucyrp does it look like any of the pics when you google 'hives in pregnancy'? I've been covered in rashes for a couple of weeks, about a third of my body 😩 it's vile and they've been really itchy but I asked the GP and she said it's unpleasant but nothing to worry about at this stage! If it gets really itchy, what I've found works for me is using an emollient (I used Zero Derm which the GP prescribed but you should be able to get in any old pharmacy) as a soap, alongside pine tar soap bought from Amazon (smells like a bonfire!), and have been showering about 3 times a day as that makes a huge difference!

biscuitcat · 28/02/2021 11:47

@lucyrp oh and also using hydrocortisone cream! I had some strong stuff prescribed but you can get less strong stuff over the counter which also seems to do the trick

lucyrp · 28/02/2021 11:54

@biscuitcat umm I'm not sure, it's not raised or lumpy or anything so... it could just be heat rash but I just spotted it and was like omg😱 I've been so itchy all over for ages but hadn't seen it like that. I've also not been wearing a bra the last couple of days just a supported crop top. Il try those things you've suggested!

Millymay13 · 28/02/2021 13:42

Hi everyone, I think this might have already have been covered but I can’t remember the conversation...has anyone found good maternity leggings which aren’t see through? My bump is only starting to come out but I’m rapidly running out of things I can wear on my bottom half!

lucyrp · 28/02/2021 13:44

@Millymay13 ASOS design ! 2 for £14. Really good I've found so far

LyraShaeLilly · 28/02/2021 14:06

Im really struggling with mat leggings the M and s ones are ok but they are massive as my bump is only small atm. But usual leggings are tights on the waist. I really feel mat leggings should have a bump size too!!!

biscuitcat · 28/02/2021 14:10

@Millymay13 I have a couple of pairs of Love Leggings, they're so comfy and not at all see through!

Millymay13 · 28/02/2021 15:42

Thank you @lucyrp, @LyraShaeLilly and @biscuitcat it’s good to have recommendations. I got a couple of pairs of H&M maternity skinny jeans from eBay this week and they are great (the over bump bit is too big so I fold it down which kind of works) but I definitely need leggings too.

I agree about wanting the ability to get ‘early bump’ clothes and then ‘full bump’ ones later. I feel a bit of a fraud when my bump isn’t that big at the moment but it’s either regular clothes which are too tight or maternity ones which are too big!

lucyrp · 28/02/2021 16:00

@Millymay13 that's why I'm just living in leggings at the moment and refuse to buy Anything else until I have a proper bump 😂
