Magik01 · 21/02/2021 01:00

Ladies, a little help! I’ve just been driving home from work and all of a sudden get a MASSIVE nose bleed in the car. I mean like I looked like I’d been attacked, managed to pull over and ring someone to come and help and bring tissue and wipes as there was what seemed like a lot of blood. I have never ever had a nose bleed before. Slightly worried it’s linked to the migraines I have been having that I have also never suffered with before! Confused Should I ring my midwife? I’ve got an appointment with her this coming Thursday anyway.

On a lighter note, @WhatEvenIsSleep congrats! How exciting! And welcome @Redskinsucks Smile

LyraShaeLilly · 21/02/2021 02:13

@Magik01

www.nhs.uk/pregnancy/related-conditions/common-symptoms/nosebleeds/

This NHS page states that nosebleeds are common in pregnancy. If it’s stopped I don’t think it’s anything to worry about. I have began to get migraines too and I don’t usually, think thats also normal due to the hormones. As with nosebleed as long as it’s not really severe or frequent and settles eventually or can be treated with paracetamol it’s nothing too concerning.

BertieBotts · 21/02/2021 06:56

Nosebleeds are defo normal in pregnancy. You have a higher volume of blood and the skin in the nose is really thin so sometimes it just... overflows. Lovely.

PurplePansy05 · 21/02/2021 08:00

Aw sorry @Magik01 that sounds horrible especially when you're driving! Are you on aspirin? Just asking cause on top of nose and gum bleeds being normal in pregnancy it can make them worse. Hope you're ok xx

Congratulations ladies, lovely to see more blue and pink hearts!!! Glad the LOs are ok 😊Update below xx

Woke up feeling really anxious this morning for some reason, we were looking through baby pictures of OH yesterday and I had a dream that our baby came out looking just like him but then the second half of the dream I was back having w scan and she was describing all the parts inside but didn't say anything about the baby. Now I have anxiety for our next appointment in about 10 days. Even tho I'm sure I felt movement last night .. twice 😫🥺🙈

MrsB2019x · 21/02/2021 09:16

Lots to catch up on today, MN was freaking out yesterday and wouldn’t let me post 🙄

Congratulations @Jessicapebbles and @WhatEvenIsSleep! 🎉

@lucyrp Do you think that could be linked to you feeling anxious about the cramps yesterday? Dreams can really mess you up sometimes! Hope you are okay

Very jealous of those finding out the sex already! I’d love an early scan but DH thinks there’s no point and we might as well wait until our 20 week scan.. but that’s 5 weeks awayyyyy 😩

Whatshouldbemyusername · 21/02/2021 09:55

@Redskinsucks congratulations and welcome!x

@Magik01 yes I read about nose bleeds too. Am sorry you had to go through one. It’s never nice! Keep yourself hydrated more now x

@lucyrp dreams sometimes at this point can be really upsetting but your baby is absolutely fine - You’ll see in 10 days x

I’ve woken up with the worst headache today. I had to work out but just can’t. I haven’t had headaches in about a week but yup it’s terrible.

Caz1226 · 21/02/2021 10:05

Morning girlies
I’ve been getting headaches as well but fingers crossed they haven’t got to a migraine state as of yet!
Does anyone else feel like the days feel more like weeks? Not sure if it’s lockdown as well but I think like everything is dragging so much
I’m begging by the time my baby is here the world is significantly more normal because this lockdown is horrible- albeit I know necessary
Just need to keep spirits high xx

PurplePansy05 · 21/02/2021 10:09

It's likely to be much better than for those who gave birth last summer. BJ announced all adults will be offered the vaccine by 31 July which is excellent news and a much safer world to bring our babies into IMO.

@lucyrp It's probably your anxiety translating itself into dreams. Try to do something nice for yourself today, the scan will come soon and everything will be well, don't worry 💐 xx

lucyrp · 21/02/2021 10:34

@MrsB2019x yeah that's probably it! So weird how it can affect you subconsciously!

@Whatshouldbemyusername yeah they're so vivid it's really hard! Hopefully will be able to hear they're heart beating away 🥰x

@PurplePansy05 DS has gone to his dads for the day and I've already done the prep for our roast dinner so looking forward to eating that at dinner time. Hope my nausea stays away for that! Didn't have it for two weeks but had it creep back slightly the last couple of days. Xx

Also hoping by the time our babies are born baby groups will be allowed to meet even if its outside for walks etc as that's something I liked doing with DS when he was small during maternity leave

Redskinsucks · 21/02/2021 10:42

Regarding the nose bleeds.. I've had painful bloodied scabs inside one nostril for almost a week now, not abnactual nose bleed but I looked it up and it is all to do with the increased blood and dilated vessels under the skin. Its really painful Nd the scabs feel quite big and sharp inside my nose so I have had to pull them off which I know makes them heal slower! Cant remember anything like this in my other pregnancy! Hoping getting some spring sunshine will help if it comes anytime soon. Xx

notinthestarsigns · 21/02/2021 11:24

@lucyrp I know how you feel with the vivid dreams. Mine have been awful since being pregnant. Thankfully the last couple of weeks they haven’t been baby related but they are nearly always quite distressing and several times I have woken my DH up in the night and he has had to calm me down. Really difficult to get back to sleep afterwards aswell, luckily it was already 6am when I woke up in the middle of one this morning so I could just get up for the day. I don’t know about anyone else but I’m just wishing the weeks away at the moment! I really don’t enjoy being pregnant and lockdown doesn’t help either.

lucyrp · 21/02/2021 11:31

@notinthestarsigns oh mine have been awful like that too! The other night I woke up and had to wake OH up to calm me down as if woken up gasping for breath and then when I finally fell back asleep I fell back into the same dream but managed to wake myself up really quickly 😥

Magik01 · 21/02/2021 11:35

Ahh thank you everyone re the nosebleed. I think it was just because it was late and I’ve never had one before, but glad they are normal! I never had any of this with DS so it’s all new to me! @PurplePansy05 not on any aspirin no, so no idea what caused it driving home. 😅

PurplePansy05 · 21/02/2021 11:48

Well I just had the most awful constipation of my life, literally thought I might burst and that I've seriously hurt myself 😔 had red blood coming from my anus when wiped, I strained that much. Just having a bowl of bran flakes and DH is going to get me prunes. I literally had one day without much fibre (yesterday) and this is the result. I hope it didn't harm the LO 😔 I'm going to speak to my MW this week at my 16 week appt xx

notinthestarsigns · 21/02/2021 12:09

I have had that too @PurplePansy05 🤦‍♀️ I always worry about taking anything for it.

MrsB2019x · 21/02/2021 12:14

I read apparently in TikTok a woman has said when she is really constipated she puts a thumb in her vagina, pushes towards her back end and it pops out..

Called an Adele apparently, “hello from the other side” 😳
