I am so tickled to start this thread! I have just found out today that I am pregnant with no. 2 after 8mths of trying. My DH doesn't want me to tell anyone yet but you guys are alright I reckon!

DS is 21mths. I am in Sydney and while v excited having a baby in Australia will be a new experience for me as I had the last one in Germany. This time I am over 35, so there are all the questions about tests etc. Also DS was 5 weeks early, but was trying to get out from about 25 weeks, so I spent three weeks in hospital and the rest of the pregnancy on medication. I hope I can avoid any complications during pregnancy this time.

So who else is out there expecting a July baby?

With DS2 my stomach was so HUGE at my 12 weeks scan that i was sure i was expecting more than one!!! I think it is a common thought with second and third pg when your stomach expands so rapidly- although a lot of sickness can indicate twins...

sweetheart · 06/12/2004 12:08

I'm not on the list Sad

Due 6th July

merglemergle · 06/12/2004 14:01

MommyD. Same nagging feeling-but there's only one in there.

I found this time that the sickness was really really bad but has now started to go. (Still bloody shattered though).

Last time it lasted well into month 5, but was milder day to day.

merglemergle · 06/12/2004 14:02

Welcome Tessiebear btw Smile

BabyDot · 07/12/2004 09:15

Morning Girls!

Hi MommyD we are in exact same week he he he. So nice to hear someone suffering (that sounds awful sorry!) I have been feeling sick for the last two weeks boo hoo.

Are you feeling any bigger yet? My boobs have gone massive! he he he. But boy are they painful!

Any other symptoms?

Eulalia · 07/12/2004 09:30

Sorry sweetheart. My brain isn't working too well at the moment!

Congrats tessiebear!

Ozjo- it was quite easy not to tell when dh came home in a bad mood and the kids were winding him up! Due to job changes in the summer he's only had one day off in 6 months hence holding off till as near as poss to the Christmas hols.

MommyD - maybe you are having a girl. I had terrible nausea with dd. Seems to be the case with a lot of people. As for twins! Well I am one and I am at high risk for having them what with my age and this being my 3rd pregnancy...noooo...! My mum had me and my sis on her 3rd pregnancy although we seemed to be just a fluke (no twins in the family).

Still got a sore back, no other symptoms yet. I never get sore boobs, and still breastfeeding yet again (that's been 5 1/2 years constantly now)

Anyone else on their 3rd just wonderng how they are going to have time to have another child?

sweetheart · 07/12/2004 09:44

Eul,

Are you and your sister identical or non-identical???

PamiNativity · 07/12/2004 09:44

MommyD, my sil went to the dr in her 4th pregnancy because she couldn't believe how big she had got so quickly - sure enough it was twins! She also felt a lot sicker! Is there any way you can wangle an early scan to put your mind at rest?
Eulalia, I'm also expecting no 3 and not sure how I'm going to manage it. Luckily dd1 starts school next September but it is still going to be hard work I think. Oh well, have only got myself to blame.
Can't believe how fat I am already (only in 9th week!) Have been feeling quite sick in the past few days and the only thing that helps is to eat very regularly. Don't know how I'm going to make it to Christmas in my normal clothes. Don't really want to wear maternity clothes till I've told people, which will be in the New Year, as my scan won't be till the first week of Jan.
Luckily one of my work boozy lunches clashes with the nursery Christmas show, so I won't have to pretend to be drinking. Only 2 boozy parties and a lunch to get through...

pinkmama · 07/12/2004 09:47

yes Eulalia, this is my 3rd. and I have morning sickness for the first time ever. I feel so ill - any tips anyone? I was thinking this morning whist trying to get dd to school and ds to nursery whilst running to the bathroom, that its rather unfair to get sickness on this pregnancy. on my first I could have laid in bed all day and felt sorry for myself! Instead I get it with 2 other kids to run around after.

Poor ds was 2nd child and I reckon he got a much poorer deal than dd, less time, energy, one to one, being dragged around to fit in with dd's social life. What is this poor mites life going to be like?

Bagpussinboots30 · 07/12/2004 10:07

Morning all Smile

Have been quite busy so haven't been on for ages.

I had my first visit to the midwife on Friday and I will have a scan next wednesday when I will be nearly 12 weeks. My sickness is quite sporadic now which is better but I had awful heartburn last night.

Please no more talk of twins! I am really quite worried about this as I am showing more than I ever have in any other pregnancy so far although I'm not particularly sicker so I suppose that's a good sign.

Pamina, my ds also starts school in September and dd will start pre-school nursery then too so I'm hoping things will be easier not harder. I'm also quite glad I will have the summer holidays to adjust first, but I suspect I will be eating my words.

Only another few days then I can start to tell people about the pg. Only the inlaws and my parents know and a few people at dh's work (because it makes it easier for him to disappear to hospital appointments with me). It feels strange that this first bit is nearly over for me now and I'm not relishing telling people as most of them think I have my work cut out already with two and will assume it's a mistake.

Welcome to Tessiebear and Sweetheart also, nice to see you here - seems like ages ago that we were all on TTC 11.

MommyD · 07/12/2004 10:41

Just been to doctor to tell her I am pg for the third time. She thought I was really brave!! She laughed when I said that my oldest is two!!
I then asked her how many she had and she also had three - in four years. So I reckon she really must KNOW that I am being brave.

Told her I was feeling sick, sick, sick and she said that if it was different to my last two pregnancies (which it is) then possibly I was having a different sex. Mentioned twins and she said I'd have to wait until my twelve week scan to find out. Which is fine by me.

No other symptoms at all other than constant nausea - couldn't cope with anything else. Only other thing rather odd is that with my last two pg my nipples went very dark early on. With this one they have gone a lovely shade of salmon pink!!!!! Very pale and pretty!!!! Grin

MommyD · 07/12/2004 11:05

Eulalia - I'm on my third and wondering how I will cope with it all. But guess what? I'll HAVE to Grin ds1 is 2 and ds2 is 1. There is 15 months between ds1 and ds2 and there will be 23 months between ds2 and this LAST baby.

pinkmama - well I am just over seven weeks and haven't noticed any change in tummy size yet so I am probably not having twins.

Babydot - nausea my only real symptom. bbs no bigger nor more painful.

Gingernut biscuits DO make a difference to nausea - I stop feeling sick WHEN I am eating them (and only WHEN) so I suppose I could spend the entire first trimester scoffing them to alleviate the nausea...! (I don't even LIKE them) Grin

hoxtonturkey · 07/12/2004 11:45

i am not sick, but i don't think i'll go about that or you'll all hate me. but i am ENORMOUS, honestly, i can't believe it. my only friend at work who knows told me that i just look fat, not pregnant. huh.....am wearing maternity clothes at home (topshop is quite good), but not work yet. am aiming to drink fizzy water at our party on friday & pretend it's g&t.

Eulalia · 07/12/2004 16:03

MommyD - cripes! Fairly big gaps between mine but I didn't get periods till 12 months and 18 months after the births.

ds started school this year which is easier but because he has special needs he is a lot of work. Also dh is renovating our house at the weekends so I am practically bringing up the kids single handed. I must be mad having a 3rd, particularly as we have one of 'each'... funny how people assume that you are happy with that.

sweetheart - we are non-identical, very much so. it is that kind that are supposd to run in families but not in our case.

hoxtonturkey · 07/12/2004 16:11

I am going to start a new thread for us as pinkmama can't get onto this one. I'll put a link in the next message....

dougal2 · 07/12/2004 16:42

Hi have been lurking a while - due 3rd July so just over 10 weeks. Am feeling very sick which is all horribly familiar as felt just as bad with ds now two. Have crashing tiredness which I am trying to hide as have a new job and am trying to be sparky and enthusiastic - yeah right! Not sure how they are going to take the news at work - being so new - I've only been in the post three and a half months Blush. I'm not intending to tell them until I come back from the christmas break as I've not got my 12 week scan till just before christmas. Surprised no-one at work has guessed yet as I'm already huge but maybe they just think I'm getting a bit fat....

AussieSim · 07/12/2004 21:12

Hi guys. Welcome to the newbies and bravo to those on no. 3. I think I'd have to have an 'accident' to get a no. 3 past DH.

Still feeling a bit sick on and off. Tired, esp with DS waking in the night - last night it was a car alarm - but I have got into this horrible habit of bringing him to bed with us.

I got my path tests back and it was all good except I only have low level immunity for Rubella, which I can't do anything about till after the birth. Hopefully I won't bump into anyone with german measles in the meantime - like a kid who's mum didn't get him/her the MMR - oops, was nearly me.

I had my appt with the midwife yesterday - 2hours just getting my history. She wanted to revise my due date to 3 July - whatever, its all academic really. It was actually quite emotional talking about my last experience with DS. I am really crossing my fingers that this time will be drama free. I thought she might at least poke my belly a bit, but no such luck. Next appt 19 Jan, seems a long way off.

Did you see the article I posted about iodine supplements for pregnant women? It has gotten me a little excited, as I know I must be low on iodine, as I very very rarely eat seafood.

OzJo · 08/12/2004 01:58

Hi folks, had my first appt today, with midwife & doctor...and they had a swanky machine thing there so I could actually see the baby! Amazing stuff, I was just hoping to hear the heartbeat. So I'm the proud owner of little snapshot no.1, seems they've got the dates about right. Ultrasound for nuchal check in a couple of weeks. It finally feels more real now, could see the little arms and legs moving about, and I'm only 10 and a half weeks! Looking forward to telling more people.....Impressed by all the people on no.3!!, think I'll stop at 2, but I know it's impossible to know for sure...

Eulalia · 08/12/2004 09:52

Aussiesim - would be interested in that article.

Going to the new thread now....

guessagainAnteater · 11/12/2004 10:23

Anteater, I just read your news. I am so sorry Sad. I hope my frivolity hasn't upset you and yours. My very best wishes hugs to you {{{{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}
