I am so tickled to start this thread! I have just found out today that I am pregnant with no. 2 after 8mths of trying. My DH doesn't want me to tell anyone yet but you guys are alright I reckon!

DS is 21mths. I am in Sydney and while v excited having a baby in Australia will be a new experience for me as I had the last one in Germany. This time I am over 35, so there are all the questions about tests etc. Also DS was 5 weeks early, but was trying to get out from about 25 weeks, so I spent three weeks in hospital and the rest of the pregnancy on medication. I hope I can avoid any complications during pregnancy this time.

So who else is out there expecting a July baby?

Hi everyone, I have been on the Due June thread but I had an early scan on Monday and found out that my due date is 4th July so can I join this thread?

I'm 8 weeks, 2 days and already have DS who is 14 months. I am suffering terribly with morning sickness (all day and night) which I didn't have with DS.

dinny · 24/11/2004 21:58

Hoxtonchick, caught sight of your name here when doing Last Day search thingy. FANTASTIC news! Really heppy for you

hoxtonchick · 24/11/2004 23:18

oh thank you dinny. i'm rather pleased too . how's that little boy of yours, & dd? ummm, i think i might have lost your e-mail address.....

OzJo · 25/11/2004 00:05

Bloody hell, miss a couple of days and there's alot to catch up with. Much sympathy AussieSim, hope your Dp is out of the dog house ( but only if he deserves to be ). We have probably got a house!! our offer has been accepted, so barring a valuation/building inspection cock up it should be ours! Never had a mortage before, somehow managed to reach my mid thirties in avoidance of such things. Such a relief to have found somewhere. I had visions of still house hunting at 8 months pregnant, or unpacking whilst in labour. Dd is off colour with a viral thing..hope she perks up soon, hate it when she's sick, I feel so useless.
I did notice in the bath that my wobbly beer gut does seem to be expanding, that dome like shape above the belly button effect...seems strange, and exciting. Looking forward to actually being able to buy some maternity clothes. During my first pregnancy ( Darwin ) there was literally no where to get any, so I was relagated to the Fat shops....better go and try not to be paranoid about Dd.

BabyDot · 25/11/2004 14:22

Ozjo,

Glad to hear I am not the only one looking forward to maternity wear. I can't believe everything is getting tight at 6 weeks! I think I wore my size 12 jeans for the last time last night he he. I was dying to get home to put on my comfy's he he.

Is anyone else going through the one day postive next day negative mood swings?

And what is the craving of the day?he he he

MommyD · 25/11/2004 15:31

I have spent a while looking on the pregnancy thread for this - I had no idea you were all hiding in here!! Thought I'd introduce myself....

I graduated from the TTC13 thread. We got pg second month of trying for #3. We now spend a lot of time thinking "OMG, what have we done???" ds1 is 2 and ds2 is 1. Talk about small gaps.....

Due 26th July. 6 weeks pg this weekend. Don't feel pg AT ALL and a bit worried as I have 3 friends recently miscarry before 12 weeks.

I get nauseous in the early evening and if I wake up at night. Bbs a little bit sort but nothing else. I want to start feeling a BIT pg!! Anyone else feel fab and not sick etc????

x

Sallie · 25/11/2004 15:39

Out of interest, what are your gaps, MommyD? I am a big fan of small age gaps even though it means lots of hard work.

pinkmama · 25/11/2004 15:41

Piffle, how are things today, settling down at all? I have bled with all of my pregnancies, and whilst I did lose one, the other two have been fine. Its scarey when it happens but so common. Hope you ok today.

Bagpuss, I have heard other people mention not liking scans, but not sure what negatives are as I've never read anything on it. Given my predliction to bleeding, and growing big babies, both of mine have been scanned so much I have more photos of them prebirth than post so quite intrigued. What are the arguments against?

MommyD · 25/11/2004 15:47

ds1 is 30 months, ds2 is 15 month, so 15 month between first two. If all goes ok with #3 there will be a 23 month gap. So when I have a newborn I will also have a 2 and a 3 year. Crazy, eh?

Sallie · 25/11/2004 15:51

I have 17.5 months between ds and dd and am hoping to have less than a 2 year age gap between dd and no 3, all being well. So I am crazy too!???

MommyD · 25/11/2004 15:51

sallie - just gone back to the ttc3 thread where we chatted - yours are MUCH closer 2yrs 3months and 9 months.... AND YOU ARE TYRING AGAIN????

MommyD · 25/11/2004 15:52

... posts crossed....

MommyD · 25/11/2004 15:54

ok, so my maths is rubbish......

Sallie · 25/11/2004 16:01

Yep, trying again. DS is 2yrs 3 mths and dd is 9 months....

Bagpuss30 · 25/11/2004 17:59

Welcome Mommyd and nice to finally see you here .

pinkmama, there are no particular arguents but my ds was born with a heart condition and when he was about 2 my dh went to a focus group with other parents of babies with CHDs also. One of the things that was discussed was that almost all the parents there had had early scans due to problems in early pg. My dh wonders whether this could have been a contributing factor to ds's condition and so to rule it out for future pgs we have decided not to have any early scans - it's just one less thing to feel guilty about as far as we are concerned. Obviously this is just our view though so don't anyone be worried .

OMG mommyd, I have just read how small your gap is . Would you like to buy my phil and ted's buggy - we are having a bigger gap than I would have liked originally, so I'm not sure I will need it anymore .

pinkmama · 25/11/2004 18:32

Thanks Bagpuss, just wondered if there was something else I could add to my list of guilt and worries .
How is your ds?

Bagpuss30 · 25/11/2004 18:35

pinkmama, don't feel guilty! Just me being over cautious. My ds is doing really well now - much better than we could ever have hoped .

pinkmama · 25/11/2004 18:42

I was only joking Bagpuss, if I can find something else to worry about I will .

Bagpuss30 · 25/11/2004 18:44

Haha, but bizarrely I still eat smoked salmon .

hoxtonchick · 25/11/2004 20:22

i am sooooooooooooooooo tired today. poor ds had to sit & watch pingu while i collapsed on the sofa. our takeaway is on it's way & then i'm off to bed.

i'm 7.5 weeks now. time is going slowly! hopefully it'll speed up after 12 weeks. i'm still in jeans, but my 'fat' ones. tried on some maternity trousers yesterday & they were so comfy i wore them for the rest of the day....

AussieSim · 26/11/2004 03:59

Hi all

Welcome to the newbies.

Thanks for all the sympathetic posts re my vanished twin. I am feeling much better about it now, managing to be philosophical about it etc.

I am 9weeks today and am just thoroughly exhasted despite napping every day and being in bed by 9:30pm. I feel very unproductive. I had a very stressful phone call with the hospital today trying to book in for my first 'clinic', but managed to apply enough pressure to squeeze in on the 7th and make my NTS appointment for the 21st. It turns out the scan is only free from 37yo, so at 35 I will have to pay - weird as none of the material about testing mentions the age 37, so is obviously just a cost saving measure.

I've dug out some of my maternity clothes from last time but feel a shopping spree coming on soonish. I only have one pair of jeans that fits anymore and I am also not happy with the length of my T-Shirst. It seems ridiculous this early one, but it is just the way it is this time.

Bagpuss30 · 26/11/2004 08:14

Aussiesim, glad you managed to get your appointments sorted out. They still seem more on the ball than here in the UK - my gp still won't refer me again until I see her on Tuesday.

I'm 9 weeks now also, and had the worst bout of m/s ever yesterday, actually throwing up, which I don't usually do. I have been and bought some maternity jeans also, but can't really wear them at the moment as they are a bit too big. I also bought some tops for later on but they were positively indecent with a neckline that went lower than my bra . Obviously not designed for women who have other children and who spend a lot of the day bending down to to pick them up, etc.

Hoxtonchick, don't worry about your ds watching lots of Pingu, that's what Cbeebies is for . Last time I was pg, I dread to think how much TV ds watched, and this time I have really had to leave both children to their own devices some afternoons (although I am lucky that dd still likes a 2 hour sleep). DS is very engrossed in Playmobil at the moment so that keeps him quiet for ages (in the nicest possible way, that is).

Well I hope all the other bumps manage to find some well fitting trousers today, I'm off to peruse my wardrobe.

MommyD · 26/11/2004 09:54

Bagpuss - thanks for the offer of the buggy - we have just gone out and bought a double buggy. I thought I could get away with two single Maclarens and a buggy board - but ds1 will NOT stay on the board. Will obviously need it now anyway with 3 of 3 and under. Yikes.......

Still don't feel pg yet. Feel a nauseous every evening around 6pm, but that is it....

Bagpuss30 · 26/11/2004 10:59

That's OK MommyD, dh would probably kill me if I went and bought another pram . I have to admit I'm becoming slightly obsessed about the fact this baby is not going to have anything new of it's own which is silly I know. I have at least got another 6 and a bit months to work on it though . Good luck with your double [shuddering emoticon] I am glad that I will not be doing that again, you will probably find that your ds will walk quite well by three though. At 3.5 my ds was walking 3 miles or more through open countryside, but then again I think he powers himself on duracell as he always seems to have loads of energy . Just hoping that dd will bethe same when baby is here as I will be able to get about a bit easier then.

Eulalia · 26/11/2004 13:02

MommyD - Hardly had any nausea with my first pg. With my 2nd it didn't kick in till I was 7 weeks and weeks 8 and 9 were the worst gradually getting better at week 10 so you've got plenty of time to still feel really pg.
