The things I'd do for gin too (if I could have it and digest it!) @Thisisbananas3! Normally I'd go for a run and have some gin in the eve when things get a bit much and now I don't feel like/can't do either. And I'd catch up with my girlfriends, that's not possible either! I've definitely been overstressed this week but when you think about it, there's so much going on and we don't really have an escape now! Don't beat yourself up, at least we have each other on here ❤ xx

northernsquirrel · 26/01/2021 19:52

Had an early pregnancy scan done for peace of mind, all looks good 😊 I'm 9 weeks today x

northernsquirrel · 26/01/2021 20:32

@Thisisbananas3 I'm sure the same happened to a work colleague and she was absolutely fine, just needed more monitoring and injections during her pregnancy as her blood type was rhesus negative but her partner and the baby were positive x

ItsPrincesspeach · 26/01/2021 20:42

@Thisisbananas3 my first thought is you’re rhesus negative if you’re a negative blood group. Just means you’ll have to have an injection in your pregnancy to help keep you and baby safe. My sister is rhesus negative and she’s had 5 healthy babies so definitely nothing to worry about.

Jchina · 26/01/2021 20:45

Thanks for the welcome @Thisisbananas3! Yes home schooling has been interesting with nausea thrown in for good measure! I think maybe it’s helped having very little time to think about it!
Hope you’ve had some more info about your blood results.

BananaHammock23 · 26/01/2021 20:58

@Thisisbananas3 sorry you had that experience with an unhelpful midwife! I have to have regular blood tests for my under active thyroid and I know they also check for antibodies (I wish I could be more specific about which antibodies they were!). I've never been told they're a cause for concern. I hope that makes you feel even a little bit better!

I had a bit of a shambolic experience today... the diabetic midwife rang me out of the blue a few weeks ago (I'm not diabetic, something to do with risk of gestational) and asked me to book a blood test at the day unit, which I did. When I got there there was no appointment and the midwife hadn't requested the forms so they had no idea what they were testing for etc, no one really knew what to do with me. The midwife had said it was for a consultant appointment on the 3rd which I've heard nothing about either. I understand things are stressful at the moment but it didn't give me much faith in the hospital! Maybe I'm being over sensitive!

I have my NHS 12 week scan tomoz, but had a private one on Friday for my partner to attend. All was good on Friday but I still feel apprehensive!

Miniheart · 26/01/2021 21:14

Congrats on the positive scan @northernsquirrel great news!

@BananaHammock23 that sounds really frustrating. Good luck for your 12 week scan tomorrow. Hope all goes well.

Welcome @Jchina!

Sending lots of positive vibes your way @Thisisbananas3 , hope you are able to get some rest and some clarity soon.

LBunz · 26/01/2021 21:49

@northernsquirrel super news! Looks like a cute little gummy bear so cute Grin

Didn’t wet myself waiting for midwife today which is good. Been told I’m under obstetrician care as I previously had a condition called idiopathic intracranial hypertension and it could present itself again during pregnancy (god nooooooooo I can’t go through that again!) / cause issues with a vaginal birth but otherwise should have my 12w scan letter through soon!

Hope you get some answers soon @Thisisbananas3 Flowers

Alittlexmasmagic · 27/01/2021 07:09

@BananaHammock23 how very strange! I didn't think they tested for GD until much later, definitely not 1st trimester.x

@LBunz not sure exactly what is but sounds like the most horrific headache?? Glad they're going to keep an eye on it though.x

Just been woken up stupidly early by a wagon idling outside the caravan then DH needing his arm strapping up after crushing it. Today is going to be a long one x

MrsB2019x · 27/01/2021 08:08

Lovely scan @northernsquirrel!

Best of luck for your scan today @BananaHammock23

Hope you get some answers soon @Thisisbananas3

I feel like I’m feeling worse rather than better as time is going on. Has anyone else felt like this?! I felt a bit better at 10 weeks but now I’m 11+5 I’m feeling progressively more crappy ☹️

BertieBotts · 27/01/2021 08:12

@Alittlexmasmagic Whaat? He crushed his arm? Is he OK?

OP posts:
Alittlexmasmagic · 27/01/2021 08:53

@BertieBotts he seems fine. I've bandaged it up and he's back out working. Refused to get it checked out at A&E. He had it caught between a cow & concrete wall. Men!!!x

Miniheart · 27/01/2021 09:20

@MrsB2019x I definitely feel worse, and I’m now 9 + 6. I feel like my symptoms were milder until this week. This week the nausea is more pronounced and lasting all day. Also I’m not sure if anyone else is experiencing this but my bowel movements are far more frequent and either loose or quite constipated and causing piles and pain. So uncomfortable when I go to the toilet. Trying to get plenty of fiber in me but it’s obviously not working. Has / is anyone else experiencing this?

biscuitcat · 27/01/2021 09:23

@BananaHammock23 good luck for today, I hope it goes well!

@Alittlexmasmagic that's quite a story for how he crushed it 😂

@MrsB2019x I'm the same - I was convinced my symptoms had mostly eased a couple of weeks ago and they're back with a vengeance now, it's horrible! I'm 11+6 now so hoping it's a temporary blip. Even worse, my failsafe of ginger beer wasn't doing the trick! I tried water with a load of lime juice in it yesterday and that really helped (made me wince though, quite sour!)

MrsB2019x · 27/01/2021 12:15

@Miniheart @biscuitcat Sorry you’re both feeling rubbish too, as crappy as it is at least we are in the same boat! 😖

Champson · 27/01/2021 12:48

Had my booking in appt today, and 12-week scan booked for 9th Feb - eeek very exciting!! Only a week and a half to go. And DH is allowed to come with me for the first one, so that's great. He wasn't allowed in at 7 weeks, I'm really excited for him to see the heartbeat(s) - fingers crossed. Booking in took 1h 30 today!!!! just question after question.

@MrsB2019x @biscuitcat & @Miniheart My symptoms and nausea definitely worse this week than last - I'm 10+3 today. I thought they eased off in week 9 as well, but now back :((((

LBunz · 27/01/2021 13:44

@Alittlexmasmagic yeah the headaches were awful. Basically too much spinal fluid which puts pressure on the brain. I’m seriously dreading the possibility of it’s return, the medication had some awful side effects and I had to get several lumbar punctures. I hope your husbands arm is ok? How awful!!

@Champson my mw said by week 14 they usually go... I thought it was a bit earlier too. My nausea isn’t as frequent now but more intense when it does happen Sad counting down the weeks until it goes. I feel bloody terrible for those with HG.. I don’t know how they manage to get through it!

lucyrp · 27/01/2021 15:35

@Miniheart I'm still experiencing what you're explaining. Have done since about 6 weeks. I tend to get constipated and then when it does finally come it's very loose. Think its also to do with the lots of wind that is trapped inside me🙈 I couldn't do anything in regards to fibre as I could hardly eat Anything nd keep it down

Miniheart · 27/01/2021 16:00

@lucyrp yes that’s exactly what’s happening for me. Urgh... so horrible. I’ve been on the prune juice and anusol cream today. Makes me fear going to the toilet! Sorry to hear you are experiencing the same issues.

Alittlexmasmagic · 27/01/2021 16:18

@Miniheart make sure whatever cream or ointment you're using has lidocaine in, that's the localised painkiller. I am not looking forward to the return of those monstrosities.

I know exactly the symptoms you're experiencing. I'm really quite gassy with it too. If things don't improve ask your GP. Lactulose might help with the constipation with in turn will help with the piles. I used it when BF x

Miniheart · 27/01/2021 16:34

Thanks @Alittlexmasmagic, I’ve just checked at the anusol cream I have doesn’t have lidocaine in it, maybe I’ll need to find something else. I did buy some lactulose today on the advice of my midwife so hope that helps too!

northernsquirrel · 27/01/2021 16:39

@Alittlexmasmagic blimey what a start to the day! Seen a few crush injuries in my time and they always make me wince.

@Jchina welcome along!

Thanks everyone for liking my scan, still feels a bit surreal at times x

Whatshouldbemyusername · 27/01/2021 16:42

Joining this. Hi everyone!!Smile

Got my NT scan booked for 16th feb. Based on calculations baby due 23rd August (will get better confirmation at the scan). I’m 35 and it’s my first baby and I’m super excited.

Winecoffeeteamum · 27/01/2021 16:47

Hi ladies. How is everyone doing today? Had my booking appointment this afternoon other than hyperemesis everything is okay. My OH is going to pick our Dd while I have a lie down.

Rattycliffe · 27/01/2021 17:00

Hi everyone! I had my twelve week scan today, have to go back next week though because the baby was hanging out upside down and they couldn't measure it properly in that position 🙈 It was like a little yoga master wriggling it's feet in the air ☺️
