Thanks all. I checked my work papers, desks, drawers, car, recent books I read, recent letters, hospital paperwork, the handbag I have been using, fridge too!, pockets...it's literally gone into thin air and despite my desperate attempts I just cannot remember where/whrn I last saw it. I was certain it was in my bag but I can only find my very first scan there.

Besides our house move is likely off because the seller is beimga knob so I am just in bits here, an utterly shit, shit day. 😭😭😭

BertieBotts · 25/01/2021 21:11

They are really light and easily caught by a gust of wind, maybe it fell underneath or behind something.

Had you taken a pic to send to relatives or anything?

@PurplePansy05 oh no, it sounds like losing the scan pic is the cherry on top of the cake today, poor you! I hope your seller gets their act together and stops being an arse.

lucyrp · 26/01/2021 07:34

@Thisisbananas3 if you're referring to your booking in bloods then it's normal for them not to ring you if they're fine. I had my booking appointment at 7 weeks and then last week at 9+3 she rang to ask a couple of questions and just dropped into the conversation casually "oh yeah you're bloods were all fine" 👀😂

I'm 10+3 and this is my second DC and I'm sure I have some kind of bump forming already🙊

PurplePansy05 · 26/01/2021 08:15

It was a hellish day @biscuitcat, true! Thank you 🌺 We're still hanging in a limbo after the seller told us days before the requested exchange that "they're not in a chain but they are waiting for their onward purchase to be ready as it's more convenient for them to move straight there". Well then you bloody well are in a chain, you twit. Unfortunately I had to wheel out the strongest argument already, ie that I'm pregnant and we can't wait for them when the whole chain is ready too. We'll see what they say, I didn't need this stress now.

DH suspects the scan photo has been packed up in one of the boxes ready for the move but I really don't think that, I would have seen it when packing up. Obviously we can't unpack them all just for fun now 🤦🏼‍♀️ So I'll have to live with the fact I'm an idiot who lost a precious baby scan of my first living baby. Too embarrassing to even type up. I will email the RMC to ask if they have a copy but doubt it, and I took one photo of it before, it's a shitty one with my thumb in it though 😔 Obvs didn't expect I'm actually stupid enough to lose it. I really don't understand what went on, it was living safely in my handbag which I checked few times for it before and it's completely gone 😔

I'm gonna stop moaning now, I'm feeling much worse and more emotional about it all because of the pregnancy I think 😭 I look like a puffy monster today. Also have a bad back for a third day in a row, trapped nerve I think 😭 Hurts like hell!

notinthestarsigns · 26/01/2021 08:49

I hope you’re feeling a bit better today @PurplePansy05. I know how you feel as I hate losing things and get so annoyed with myself. Fingers crossed it will turn up but try not to think it will have any impact on how good you will be as a mum as these things are easily done!

MrsB2019x · 26/01/2021 08:49

Feeling absolutely rubbish today, so nauseous 😖 almost been sick twice and it’s putting me a bit on the edge. No point to this post other than a moan!

(Hats off to you ladies who have it far worse, I absolutely could not cope Flowers)

ame88 · 26/01/2021 08:50

Morning all!
Am I the only one that feels a bit meh? I'm desperately counting the days till my 12 week scan and until that I feel a bit in limbo. I don't know why I'm putting so much pressure on it, it's like I can't actually believe I'm pregnant until then?! Even though I had a scan last week and everything perfect!!
Doesn't help with the lockdown I suppose I feel like I'm counting hours till bedtime!

PurplePansy05 · 26/01/2021 08:52

It's a meh day all around, eh. I'm worried cause I have no pregnancy symptoms whatsoever since yesterday morning.

Just can't win.

Alittlexmasmagic · 26/01/2021 08:55

@PurplePansy05 you're really having a shitty time. The RMC really should be keeping the photos, remember they're medical records rather than a family snapshot. They may be a bit shitty about letting you have a copy but they are your medical records and you can argue it with them.
Moving house sucks!! If it's any consolation I'm living in a static just now whilst the house is being refurbed. The projected end date keeps getting pushed back and back. I can't see us being moved in until April at the earliest.
Ask your MW for a physio referral, they usually take an age to come through but they might help suggest some exercises for your nerve. I know the deep freeze patches are suitable for pregnancy too, would one of those help?x

ItsPrincesspeach · 26/01/2021 09:32

I had a really crappy day yesterday but feeling much better today (so far) but on the upside I managed 2 pieces of home learning yesterday with my DD, luckily she’s in reception and learns a lot through play still. I told them on the phone I’ve been unwell so struggling a little and they seemed fine about it.
@PurplePansy05 I’m sure you’ll come across them one day, they’ll just magically appear and once your beautiful baby is here you won’t even have a second thought about that scan photo. I rarely look at my DD’s ones now I’d rather look at photos of her as a baby! Most probably why I became so broody 😂

lucyrp · 26/01/2021 11:30

@ame88 I'm waiting very impatiently for my 12 week scan, I spoke to the midwife at 9+2 weeks and she said oh yeah you're scan appointment should definitely be with you this week. It's now a week later and 2 days into the next week and still nothing. I'm so irritable I really went to ring and ask when it is as my OH needs to know too so he can book some time off to take me. He normally has to have 8 working days notice and I'm 12 weeks in 8 working days so not looking promising.

WolfMother326 · 26/01/2021 11:35

Hi all. I got a little lost between the last thread and this one, but happy to have found the right spot now!

Things are finally starting to feel real and a bit more secure. I had my booking appt last week and had bloods taken. Already heard from my consultant (I have a medical condition so get a bit more contact) that it all looked good. Also feeling much less nausea - just tired and super hungry! which is nice after 6 weeks of not being able to stomach much (I've actually lost 2-3 kg since getting pregnant, hopefully not a problem). Still don't want sweet stuff or meat, but everything else is appealing.

I also had my first scan this Sunday as my DH and I decided to get an NIPT test done due to my age, and the scan was included. It was so lovely to see the baby literally dancing around in there, and found out I am a few days further along than I thought, so 11weeks. Now I'm just waiting on the results of the NIPT (fingers crossed for a good result) and excited about my Dating Scan, which will actually happen closer to 14w if the first scan was accurate.

Sharing a little photo from my scan, I keep looking at it and smiling!

Hope everyone is doing well and feeling better and better.

August 2021 - Scans and booking in!
Thisisbananas3 · 26/01/2021 11:36

@lucyrp thanks- I just worry if the 2 things I’m low in I can Medicate for, like iron, can’t they tell me now so I can get going?! I half expect they’ll call in a few weeks! And your scan hasn’t been booked yet? I’d chase. Ideally it should be for 12 weeks but I’ll be 14 weeks at mine, the wait feels painful so try and follow up if you can.

Sorry to hear so many feeling meh. I think lockdown and January and sickness and waiting for scans is maybe getting to us all. Any consolation I’m with you all, let’s hope the week gets better! 😊

Thisisbananas3 · 26/01/2021 11:38

Aw @WolfMother326 what a lovely post! 🥰 gorgeous photo, almost looks like we’re getting a wave! ❤️

Fingers crossed you get the NIPT results soon with the all clear xx

WolfMother326 · 26/01/2021 11:41

Thanks @Thisisbananas3, I agree, looked like a little wave :)

I hope you hear back on your results soon, that sounds stressful. Maybe taking iron supplements in the meantime wouldn't hurt?

lucyrp · 26/01/2021 11:45

@Thisisbananas3 maybe its not low enough to need medication? Sometimes they don't prescribe for low iron because they like to see if it improves with diet. I actually think I have low blood pressure as I had a really bad morning the other day which involved lots of throwing up and falling all over the place on the way to the bathroom and the room spinning etc. Hasn't happened since but do get light headed easily and if my bloods were fine then can't be iron which is the first thing I'd expect. I kind of want to wait until the end of this week to ring, I was expecting the letter for two weeks before the appointment so getting disappointed every time I see the postman and we have no post as it probably means my scan is further away ☹️

Thisisbananas3 · 26/01/2021 11:50

@WolfMother326 must have been so magical!!! Bet you can’t wait for the next scan. I find I’m really wishing time away and then panicking I’m wish it away too quickly!

And thanks re results, hopefully it’s okay! I’m already taking iron, have been for a while- when I googled it could also be to do with low platelet levels so I don’t know. I’ll call the maternity helpline soon to try and contact the midwife. Hopefully itll sort itself out!

Also I meant to ask @BertieBotts and others who know the feeling what movement feels like? Not that I’m expecting to feel anything other than wind for a long time!

Thisisbananas3 · 26/01/2021 11:55

@lucyrp yeah hopefully it’s just that- I have a history of anaemia anyway and have been taking iron for a while so hopefully it’ll be ok. I also have low blood pressure (well ish, I’m on the cusp so Deemed as acceptable) and what you’re describing sounds exactly like low blood pressure, do you also get impaired vision with a type of headrush? the advice is to move slowly and once you’ve stood up count to 3 before trying to walk. All very well in a normal environment but not when you’re running to the loo! Sounds very unpleasant though so I hope that passes xx and fingers crossed tomorrow’s post is happy scan post 🤞🏼

Champson · 26/01/2021 11:57

Ok this is a bit weird - I was meditating this morning, and I could feel my heartbeat in my body but it felt like it was interrupted! Like with the other heartbeats in there. I know it's probably in my head but it weirded me out so much I had to stop. Anyone else meditate and had similar? I'm 10+2 today. Probably not but thought I check!!

And thanks everyone for the maternity clothes suggestions! Waiting on an H&M parcel to arrive soooooon!

lucyrp · 26/01/2021 12:00

@Thisisbananas3 yeah I used to be on iron tablets with a history of anemia too ever since I had glandular fever when I was a teenager. Yeah definitely get impaired vision whenever I go from room to room I normally get there and have to stand for a few minutes holding onto something with my eyes closed before I can see again properly. It wasn't very good on the day I had it as I had to rush to get ready for the dentist too which wasn't pleasant as I had to have impressions done for my retainers and I gagged so much at that 😅😂 wasn't a great day. Yess fingers crossed 🤞🏼 my next task is to ring the hospital and ask for my Labour notes from DS and see if I can get them sent out so I can read them 🙈

Thisisbananas3 · 26/01/2021 12:13

@Champson do you mean you could feel your LOs heartbeat too or your heart felt it was skipping a best and the beat fast to make up for it?

@lucyrp ugh that does not sound fun, if you’re getting it that bad I wonder if there’s something they can give you for it?

Has anyone who was considering a c section read the thread about lack of aftercare from midwives? I’m going to stop reading it as it’s pretty unpleasant!

MrsB2019x · 26/01/2021 12:29

Glad you found us again @WolfMother326, that scan is so lovely!

@Thisisbananas3 I haven’t but have thought about it, was thinking it might be a bit over-sensationalised if that makes any sense? I used to be a maternity support worker so I’ve seen it from the other side too so I guess that would provide some balance. For context I had a few women who wanted help with ridiculous things, like turning their reading light off (which was on the bedside remote on the table next to them..)

Alittlexmasmagic · 26/01/2021 12:40

@Thisisbananas3 yes, I have read that thread. DS was in SCBU so not with me. I'll not lie, it wasn't easy and trying to establish BF was so difficult. Partners aren't allowed on our postnatal wards overnight anyway so everything had to be to hand in advance.
I wouldn't let it put you off an ELCS if that's what you want. It's definitely something that's better known in advance so you can plan. The HCA's are great but there are too few. The advice is correct, get home as soon as you can x

Champson · 26/01/2021 13:11

@Thisisbananas3 it was a very weird feeling so hard to describe but more like I could feel the LOs heartbeats so I couldn’t get a clear read on my own - does that make sense?!?! I must’ve been hallucinating now I write it out 😂
