@biscuitcat My booking apt was over the phone and my MW wrote in my notes then. When they were given to me at 12 week scan, they had her comments included. I had an appointment with another MW at the 12 week scan at the hospital and she went through that and added more comments in xx

PurplePansy05 · 13/02/2021 12:08

That single piece of paper is just a summary of the scan. I have no idea about electronic filing, it must vary depending on where you live. I wasn't given access to any electronic notes, I just have a paper file, I am not sure if my local health board has their own e-record in addition to this xx

MrsB2019x · 13/02/2021 12:17

@BananaHammock23 Yeah I’ve been feeling period like pains too, not often but they’re definitely there!

@biscuitcat I had a singular sheet of paper just to confirm that all parts of the anatomy looked normal, measurements, where my placenta is etc. They filed it at the back of my notes

Carefree1 · 13/02/2021 12:44

@Champson, thank you for sharing your story, it’s amazing too the work that you’re now doing 🥰.

@biscuitcat my trust have now gone digital for notes, but there’s nothing online. They gave me a print out like others re measurements etc. And stickers with my NHS info. I can’t see any of my notes at all, because their electronic system is terrible 🤷‍♀️

Millymay13 · 13/02/2021 13:35

Hi everyone,
Please can I join the group? I was too scared to join until now after a few miscarriages but I had my 12 week scan this week and all looking good. Thankful for some relief from the anxiety, although I imagine there’ll be more on it’s way later on!!
@PurplePansy05 please can you add me to the list of due dates? Mine is 22nd August. Thank you very much 😊

lucyrp · 13/02/2021 16:52

@biscuitcat I had a report printed out that says along the lines of "single live intrauterine fetus" etc and its to go in your notes. Says measurements etc x

Jessicapebbles · 13/02/2021 17:07

Hi everyone,
Weird situation and could be totally un-pregnancy related but who knows...this morning I was getting my DD her cereal and out of nowhere I got this unbelievable pain in my finger on my right hand (my carpal tunnel hand) and then my middle knuckle all went a very strange shade of blue and it seems like my vein has just burst randomly? I am taking Asprin for the pregnancy and wondered if maybe this could be related?

@Jessicapebbles another lady I know who's pregnant has said her carpal tunnel has got so much worse in pregnancy so could be that ?

Jessicapebbles · 13/02/2021 22:34

@lucyrp I think you’re right! We’ve come to the conclusion that too much blood got stuck in my hand 😂 so painful!

Rattycliffe · 13/02/2021 22:43

@Jessicapebbles I don't think the carpal tunnel would have anything to do with it as this only affects your nerves. The asprin would certainly cause more bleeding than you would normally expect but I can't explain how it randomly happened like that?! I'm guessing you hadn't banged out knocked it at any point?

PurplePansy05 · 13/02/2021 23:55

I'm on aspirin too and have similar coloured visible veins on my breasts atm but no bruising anywhere and I don't bruise more easily either. xx

lucyrp · 14/02/2021 06:29

My insomnia is only getting worse 😭 anyone else ? Can't get a good nights sleep at all, can't get comfortable, never tossed and turned so much and the vivid dreams leave me waking up feeling like I've done a whole shift at work during my sleep. Then wake up at 5am wide awake. 😫

Jessicapebbles · 14/02/2021 07:06

@Rattycliffe It must be the Asprin! Nope no knocks at all, so strange! I’m going to check with my MW when I see her next week x

ame88 · 14/02/2021 07:24

Same! I feel like my body is so desperate for a full nights sleep but just not happening!
HopefulB · 14/02/2021 07:39

Oh no @lucyrp!

I only had a couple of days of vivid dreams (don’t usually remember any dreams). My sleep isn’t too bad other than Pre-scan. I’m
Getting about the same time asleep (or longer!), just not sleeping deeply for as long as I’d like to feel fully rested.

Have you tried all the usual recommendations? Cut down on any daytime naps, Regular bedtime & getting up time, no exercise/screentime/big meals for an hour before bed, making sure room is dark, a comfortable (cool) temperature and peaceful, no mobile phones in bedroom, try lavender/relaxing smell (I found rubbing a temple balm in before bed helped previously - not tried recently).

I haven’t bothered including the cut out Alcohol/Caffeine as guess you’ve already done that for the baby!

PurplePansy05 · 14/02/2021 07:40

The pillow has really helped me with sleeping better (no insomnia now, but still up at strange times to go to the toilet haha), but I too have vivid dreams. Some are really strange!

Ladies, slightly off topic but also relevant to pregnancy...DH and I will be investing in a new king size bed soon, can anyone recommend a comfy mattress/bed and mattress that you are happy with? Money is no issue on this one, we just want to buy the right one. I'm worried we'll have to order when shops are still closed, so no trying it out first 😐 xx

@HopefulB Have you had your scan yet, lovely? xx

lucyrp · 14/02/2021 07:53

@ame88 I may get 1/2 good nights sleep out of 7 so I guess that's something but they don't feel like "good" sleeps just better than the others😫

@HopefulB I normally have a vivid dream every single night and they've all been so odd. I've been dreaming about people I went to school with who I was never even friends with just people that were in the same year as me and such like so odd. Yeah I haven't napped in the day for a couple of weeks as much as I'd like to I have the same problem of not being able to get to sleep or to get comfortable to be able to sleep when normally I can fall asleep on the sofa etc or have been able to up until now. I go to bed roughly the same time every night anywhere between 8/9 once DS is in bed normally watch a bit of tv then go. Screen time might be one to cut down on maybe before bed. I have got some lavender oil il try that oh my pillow. Been looking to get a pregnancy pillow too in the hope that might be help but can't remember being like this in my last pregnancy. Actually I have cut down both of those but I did have a couple of normal cups of tea yesterday which I don't usually have so maybe why last nights was so bad !

RunnerGirl123 · 14/02/2021 08:26

Just catching up from yesterday!

@Champson what a journey! You are a warrior, and it's lovely to hear you're helping others from your own experiences now. Congratulations on the triplets!

@lucyrp my sleep is so hit and miss too! Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night, feeling exhausted and still can't get back to sleep. I have at least 1 strange dream each night too. I find i sleep better on the days I've been out for a long walk, and physically tired myself out (compared to the days I've just lounged around the house) could that be worth a try today? I don't wake up rested anymore, it's still a struggle getting out of bed, especially on weekdays, but hopefully in a few weeks that'll pass!

lucyrp · 14/02/2021 08:30

@RunnerGirl123 actually yesterday was the first time I've been out of the house all day for forever. I said to OH please can we go out today and not come home for a few hours because I've been wfh and fed up of being inside. So I was absolutely knackered yesterday and it didn't help 😴

RunnerGirl123 · 14/02/2021 08:53

@lucyrp ah, hopefully its just temporary and will be one of those things that wears off as we get a bit further into the second trimester. I'm planning to order my maternity pillow when I get paid, I'm hoping that'll stop me getting aches and pains in my hips and just help me get a more comfortable sleep.

Whatshouldbemyusername · 14/02/2021 09:40

@lucyrp and @ame88 I can’t sleep either. I’ve had issues with sleep before but yes I really don’t sleep well. It’s like I wake up at 2 every day to pee and again about 5:45 and then body clock wakes me up at 7. No matter what day it is.

@HopefulB I feel like I do all this too. Literally no electronics after 8:30 pm and I read a book. Lights down. Meditation etc.

I think I personally have some background stress mainly about moving soon and job changes and I feel like that might be adding to the reasons why I can’t sleep well. I’m going to get my 🤰🏽 Pillow when I move in about 2 weeks hopefully. Hoping that will make a difference and my second trimester is when I sleep a lot!

This weekend I haven’t stepped out at all as I’m exhausted.

@PurplePansy05 we have the Emma king size mattress in our home (we’re Airbnb hopping at the moment) but yes the Emma is very comfortable. They always have some sort of offers going on. I hear the simba mattress is good too

PurplePansy05 · 14/02/2021 10:00

@Whatshouldbemyusername Thanks a lot for the Emma recommendation, we'll definitely look into them. I had a look at Simba before too, I can't remember why I chose a different one when we bought our current bed. We have TheraPur now and whilst the firmness is ok it's too thick and too high for the next to me crib so I definitely want to buy a different one for the new house. I know what you mean re moving, I have 10 days left till completion and just hope it all goes smooth. Hello more exhaustion Confused xx

Whatshouldbemyusername · 14/02/2021 10:11

@PurplePansy05 aaaw. Moving is such a hassle. My partner and I have been in Airbnb’s since December as we were waiting for a flat to be ready to move into (key worker scheme). It’s now almost sorted so hopefully I can move in the next week or two max. It’s been a whole rollercoaster. My first trim has been over in Airbnb 😄

I hope the move goes well xx

biscuitcat · 14/02/2021 11:39

Thank you everyone for all your answers about my scan notes - she didn't say anything so I'll ask at the next one I think 😊

@PurplePansy05 I also have the Emma mattress, and would also recommend it! On our guest bed we have an Otty (just the cheaper one, not the fancy one) which is also really comfy - apparently made in the same factory as Emma. Good luck with the move - it'll be such a relief when it's all done! Need some nice (booze free 😂) Prosecco/wine for the evening to celebrate

@HopefulB @lucyrp my dreams have been far more vivid than normal, and even some nightmares - but I think it's eased recently (maybe as I'm not up in the night so much to pee?), so I hope it does for you too
