@Alittlexmasmagic 😂😂😂 OMG so true. I got mine yesterday! Had a nice night’s sleep - I think I tossed about a bit less than normal. Will really come into it’s own when bump starts growing over next few months I think. Hope you enjoy it tonight!!

@Champson this is me just being nosey! But so multiples run in your family? Was it a natural conception? Sorry if you’ve already answered these questions! Just genially curious.

@Alittlexmasmagic 😂 so true, it was a nightmare to get on! I'm wondering if I can tempt my sister to sew another cover for me that fits more easily rather than buy a second...

@Magik01 I can so imagine how tough it would have been with a toddler, but glad to hear everyone is ok and that you've had your scan!

My scan is set for Thursday 18th but thats at the MW led clinic and It was only confirmed last week that I would be Consultant led so they said I would get a new scan date, it may be the same date if there is a consultant available that day but I need to call them if I haven't heard by Tues. I don't understand why I cant just keep that date and book a separate appt with the consultant? But it's probably the way my hospital does things.

I hope the scan is still next week though as I really don't want to wait any longer, I'm exactly 12 weeks on Weds.

Well this is the story...

I had breast cancer five years ago and before treatment froze six embryos. After two years on meds they allowed me to take a short break to try for a baby so I stopped all medication last Feb 2020. For various funding delay reasons, it took until Dec for us to get our one shot at IVF. Of the six embryos, only two survived thawing. One was high quality and the other medium to low quality. So they asked if we wanted to put both in or just the one. After some humming and hawing, we said both. And then 7 weeks later at IVF scan she said there were three!! The first thing I stupidly said was “but how is that even possible?!” One of the embryos had split so we have identical twins and a singleton in there.

My DH’s aunties are twins. But that’s the only multiples in our family! I have second cousins who are also twins but I think that’s too far removed to count!! 😂

I just woke up to go to the toilet and now I'm wide awake and read your story @Champson. Wow, what a difficulty you've been before and what a blessing with your three LOs, I am keeping everything crossed for you and for them. Think we're all sending massive "stay in there and grow well" vibes for every day of your pregnancy 😘🙏💐. I wish cancer didn't exist. Most people I know who survived are fabulous, became much stronger and in that sense the big C has left a lasting positive legacy but also what devastation and loss for many, its one of those things I so wish could change. xxx

Aw thanks ladies! I forget how shocking a story it is for people - it’s become normal life for us!! I was very lucky in that we found it very early (stage 2) and I had great doctors. The business I mentioned I started last year is a direct result - providing health coaching to people with chronic conditions. So definitely some good comes out of the Big C!!

On the waking up - I woke up at 2am and sat on the toilet for 20 mins trying to go. Very constipated now 🙄 I got worried straining too much might make a baby or two pop out!! 😂 TMI?!?

@Champson I keep feeling like this too. Think it's the pressure of the womb against the bladder, especially for you it will be stronger because of its size and weight I'd imagine. Can anyone feel their uterus? I think I can feel the hard bit at the lower centre part of my bump, but I might be imagining this?!

And I've also had some shooting sensations in my cervix, all together I was convinced it's a beginning of cystitis, BUT it hasn't come on yet which is weird for me. I got the anibiotics but waiting for my sample results to come back on Monday. I've since read that this could well be something called the "lightning crotch" 😳🤣 I told DH yesterday that our son gave me lightning crotch, he was rolling laughing, but apparently it's a thing and this is how I'm feeling 🤣 xx

@Champson Wow! What a journey you and your DH have been through and I am so glad you have had something positive come out of the whole experience!

Thanks for sharing your journey @Champson, I worked with cancer patients for 9yrs. It gave me a very different perspective on life! Best of luck in the rest of your journey - it sounds like with mum’s gene’s the babies will definitely be fighters!

Sympathising with the bowel issues, and I’ve developed the strange thing where other half makes me feel sick!! He thought I was being really rude when I snapped ‘don’t move’ this morning. Then he moved and I wretched and he realised I wasn’t joking. We’re definitely social distancing now!!

Re consultant appt. I was told mine would be about 16weeks. Not sure yet if going MW or consultant led, but will be in the same building whatever.

Just popping in to say I had my 12 week scan earlier this week and everything's on track and looking fine. I'm always so relieved to see the little heartbeat! Due around the 20th of August.

Wow @Champson what a story! Sending lots of positive vibes your way for three healthy babies that stay put for as long as possible!

Mine is an IVF pregnancy as well (in a same sex relationship) and I just can't believe it's real!

Is anyone else having what feels like period pains? I'm sure it's just stretching but I'm a worrier! Week 14 now x

@LyraShaeLilly and @HopefulB I just found out last week I might be consultant led too and had booked an appointment for 19th for that when the dating scan is 16th. Got a text at 10pm last night saying consultant appointment rescheduled for 9th April! I was so pissed off. I sent an email straight away and this morning realised it was such an emotional email. Lol. Ah it’s ok. Am sure there’s nothing these lovely MW haven’t seen!

@PurplePansy05 I can feel it I think just above my pubic bone. Esp when I lie down. Exciting! But yes as everyone is saying I can feel pains too. Come and go. It’s not daily and it’s mainly my right side. It is concerning but I’m being positive for the appointment and then I will relax some.

@BananaHammock23 congratulations to you and your partner. I think the shooting pains is something we are all experiencing.

Also can I just put this out there and say how grateful I am for this group. A little community of mums to be and coz I haven’t told many people yet (only my dad and sisters) it’s been a wealth of information and support from all you beautiful ladies.

We are all amazing and we will all have beautiful healthy babies ♥️♥️

@PurplePansy05 I sometimes think I can feel something when I'm having a good poke but I think it's my imagination!

I've been wondering - this might be a really silly question!! - I saw some people mention things written in their notes from the 12 week scan. I don't think I've got anything from the scan apart from the photos she gave me on the day, and couldn't find anything in my maternity notes. Am I missing something?

@biscuitcat they gave me a bit of paper with a few notes on: eg single live foetus, measurements. To file in my notes.
Unless your trust saves it electronically? There is not any information on it that I wouldn't know. Hope that helps x
