What I would add is that these tests will then be noted by the NHS as well whereas the private NIPT won't be (I mentioned I had it, they weren't interested). So maybe there's an argument to just have it done, it's only a vial of blood xx

MrsB2019x · 12/02/2021 10:06

Congrats @Alittlexmasmagic!

We must be coming to the tail end of 12 week scans now? Has anyone still got theirs to come?

Hope they start to kick in soon @Champson, 3 babies must really drain your body’s resources!

RunnerGirl123 · 12/02/2021 10:13

Morning all! I would love to join. I'm 14+2 and due 11th August. I've been following since the beginning but decided to wait to join until around now. Been a long and heartbreaking journey to get here, but hoping this is our turn.

Hope we are start feeling better now we're getting into our second trimesters. Still occasional nausea for me, and feeling exhausted most of the time but I think I've seen some improvements over the last week or so!! I do sometimes get headaches but I really need to make more of an effort in drinking water throughout the day, so that's my goal this weekend.

Hope you're all doing okay! Looking forward to sharing this time with you all x

PurplePansy05 · 12/02/2021 10:15

I think there are still some left because some of us had private ones at around 10/11 wks recently if remember correctly, but there can't be many left. Also @Magik01 how are you doing? How is your DH? Hope you're ok and you'll have your scan quickly.

We could probably start thinking about putting a little post together with chronological EDDs so we know where we are and sex (if we find out), I'm happy to start the chain - please feel free to update with your info 😊 xx

PurplePansy05 - EDD 12 August, Boy 💙

Carefree1 · 12/02/2021 10:17

Morning everyone! Happy Friday!!

Congratulations @notinthestarsigns & @Alittlexmasmagic on your scans, lovely news 😊.

I’m wishing my life away at the moment, feel like it’s so long until my next appointments, so impatient 😂 xx

Carefree1 · 12/02/2021 10:24

Good idea @PurplePansy05! Carefree1 EDD 15 August. (Can’t wait to find out)

Morning @RunnerGirl123 😊
Xx

Whatshouldbemyusername · 12/02/2021 10:27

@PurplePansy05 that afternoon tea sounds amazing. Well done. Yummy!

@lucyrp you need Shea butter. I’ve been itchy too so I’ve been using that it it’s been helping. Get the pure form of it on Amazon. You can get a large tub for like £7 and then I mixed it with some coconut oil - it’s made a difference. Also I hear she’s butter helps with stretch marks too! So it’s win win

@Smallbean27 I’ve been having headaches through out my pregnancy so far. It comes and goes but when it comes it’s soo bad. Try keep having more water x

@MrsB2019x I still have my scan coming up. It’s on 16th and I’m so excited for it!

Beautiful scan @Alittlexmasmagic x

PurplePansy05 · 12/02/2021 10:30

Hello @RunnerGirl123! You're not alone with a difficult story leading up to here, big hugs 💐 There's quite a few of us on this thread. Let's hope for a smooth journey for all of us going forward 😊 xx

Woop woop! @Carefree1, there's two of us 🤣 I bet you our LOs will come on the same day like we started off, I have a feeling. It's been so lovely to share this whole journey so far together 😊😘

notinthestarsigns · 12/02/2021 10:54

Great news on the scan @Alittlexmasmagic, I’m sure you are feeling very relieved, I still don’t feel like I can get excited, and not sure I will until they are here safe and well but a bit of relief is good!

On the exercise point, I have done so little since finding out as have felt so rough but I definitely need to try and start exercising again now I’m feeling a little bit better.

@PurplePansy05 my EDD is 23rd august if you can add me to the list.

biscuitcat · 12/02/2021 10:55

Lovely scan @Alittlexmasmagic, it's such a relief isn't it!

Welcome @RunnerGirl123, lovely to have you 😊 I'm like you, getting the odd headache but I think it's because I don't drink enough! I've also been getting really bunged up and sniffly - has anyone else? Glamorous business, this...

Lovely idea @PurplePansy05, I'll add myself!

Biscuitcat - EDD 10 August, having a surprise! 💛

notinthestarsigns · 12/02/2021 10:57

Has anyone that is consultant led seen a consultant yet? I’ve been booked in for an appointment at about 15 weeks and was just wondering if that’s normal? I saw a consultant 3 days after my 12 week scan last time but that’s because there were potential issues.

PurplePansy05 · 12/02/2021 10:59

@Notinthestarsigns it is normal, my consultant appt is at 16 weeks. And it was brought forward cause they booked me in at 20 originally!

Sooo here we go:

Biscuitcat - EDD 10 August, having a surprise! 💛

ame88 · 12/02/2021 11:04

@Smallbean27

Congrats *@Alittlexmasmagic*!

Has anyone else started getting headaches? I don't normally get them but the last few days they are here with avengence! I'm not sure if it's more of a congestion thing as I am sneezing alot. Any remedies welcome!?

I'm waking up with a headache every day at the moment! I drink water like it's going out of fashion so definitely not dehydration!
BananaHammock23 · 12/02/2021 11:05

Hi all - sorry I've been a bit absent! I've been feeling so fed up this past week and can't seem to shake it. I think the reality of being in lockdown and pregnant is starting to set in. I wanted for DP and i to go on holiday together before the baby comes (weve only been together 2.5 years so have only been on a handful!) and it's looking increasingly less likely that will happen. I haven't been able to see my friends to tell them face to face and it's getting me down. I'm a swimmer and I can't get in the sea because of the cold and the pools are shut and I just feel like I'm turning into a big blubbery mess. There's no bump, no symptoms and i just wonder if I'm even pregnant still. Sorry to come on and rant I just feel low and a bit 'is this it?' this week. After a year of IVF i thought I'd feel different but i just feel the same but more depressed and with massive tits!

ame88 · 12/02/2021 11:06

I have my NHS scan next Thursday so will update with EDD then! Last scan put us forward 5 days so we will see!

notinthestarsigns · 12/02/2021 11:06

Thank you @PurplePansy05 that’s helpful. I’ve been told I will get a scan at 16 weeks but they said that the consultant can just book that in for the next week when they see me.

Champson · 12/02/2021 11:17

@Notinthestarsigns - I'm consultant led bc of trips, next appointment is week 15 as well xx

@BananaHammock23 - I TOTALLY feel you. I am DYING for the beach and really really want to go away. We had the first week of March held - originally for a ski trip, then for a cottage away ont he beach somewhere in the UK, and now I've started booking work meetings into it 😩I think May and later will be too risky for us to do anything, so if a trip is happening it has to happen in April :(((((

Here's mine added:

@Champson - EDD 22 August (but really June/July), TBC 💛💛💛

LyraShaeLilly · 12/02/2021 11:24

@BananaHammock23

So sorry thats how you feel, Although I am very down about lockdown I look at it as there is nothing else to do so I may as well be pregnant, I have have sickness and tiredness and feel I'm glad I don't have to cancel plans if I'm feeling like this so I'm quite glad of lockdown.

@ame88

Yes I get headaches and don't normally I think its a symptom of all the hormones raging as its the same type of headaches I got when taking the pil

@notinthestarsigns

I am consultant led and was told I need to see them at the 12 week scan, therefore my date of this scan may change as was only confirmed I would be consultant led last week and I already received my MW led scan appt?

Those of you that know the sex so early on have you had private tests for this? I thought you could only find out at 20 weeks?

PurplePansy05 · 12/02/2021 11:29

Ladies, DH and I booked a little trip to Cornwall for May, I am dying to go. It's booked with free cancellation in case something went wrong, whether covid wise, or touch wood I would not be able to go. I know it may not happen, BUT I find it so helpful to actually have something in the diary to look forward to! I am also making sure to get out for a walk at least once a week with a friend. Honestly, it helps so much. And I'm recreating the things we can't do at home, like the afternoon tea. Of course it's not the same and I'm gutted but I'm really trying hard not to focus on that. I think ultimately we have more to look forward to than most other people - we will get to meet our new little person/people soon. Our whole world will change. Whereas for many people this entire year will still be same old, or worse. Obviously our position comes with its own risks, stress and hardship in being isolated. But I'm trying not to lose sight of the biggest blessing on the horizon whenever I start feeling low like this. Lots of TLC is needed now and we shouldn't feel bad about it. It's normal to feel low, there's so much not right with the world right now. But it won't last forever and exciting times ARE ahead 💐 xxx

WatermelonKisses · 12/02/2021 11:32

I've been getting headaches all week too, and feeling really congested in the sinuses. I've not had nausea in a few weeks and this morning was violently sick out of nowhere after a slice of toast and peanut butter. Feel fine now 🤷🏻‍♀️

@PurplePansy05

How do you know the sex so early, does the NHS blood test tell you or did you have a private blood test?

PurplePansy05 · 12/02/2021 11:43

@LyraShaeLilly I mentioned earlier in the thread, I had private NIPT test which allows you find out the sex based on DNA from around 9 weeks onwards xx

wimbler · 12/02/2021 11:47

can I add myself in please? Not sure how exactly but hope this works!
