Thank you ladies 😁 I don’t feel the need for a pregnancy pillow just yet but think I’ll go for the kally

@Whatshouldbemyusername That’s the spirit 🤣

lucyrp · 11/02/2021 16:22

@Whatshouldbemyusername exercised for 40 minutes ?!🤯 I have done barely any exercise since being pregnant as I am exhausted. Was going to the gym 6 days a week previously but even walking up the stairs makes me out of breath!

PurplePansy05 · 11/02/2021 16:38

I used to walk 12k-14k steps every day when I was working in the office and do HIIT/gym, I have no idea when I had time and energy for this. Now I'm terrible, if I hit 5k daily that's good, if I do 7k it's excellent 😳 I am tired, it's also cold and I'm lazy but tbh I'm hoping from next month it will get warmer, days will be longer and I will have more motivation. I really should start with some yoga and pelvic floor exercises at least, but I really just can't find the willpower atm 🤦🏼‍♀️ xx

wimbler · 11/02/2021 16:46
@wimbler ah that makes sense. Will probably do that too and get a feeding pillow for the living room. Thank you! I wonder if the bbhugme has any discount codes too?

@PurplePansy05 thank you for letting us know about Kally pillow too. I’d rather get something that I know people are comfy using like this or the bbhugme.

@MrsB2019x my love it’s one of those days. Although I know the drop will be coming in a couple of hours. Just feel it already!
I think natural baby shower usually has a new customer 10% discount they advertise on their website.
I used the £10 off £100 spend on John Lewis website. Code was NURSERYBABY10 I think!
John Lewis are also offering a £100 gift card when you spend £500 on nursery items at the moment too. Might be good if anyone is thinking about buying any big items!

BertieBotts · 11/02/2021 16:58

That gift card is a really good deal. They do prams and car seats there, might be worth it if they have the one you want.

OP posts:
wimbler · 11/02/2021 17:15

@BertieBotts isn't it! This is my second so I'm hoping we won't have to spend that much this time around! It's valid until 21st of Feb across the nursery and baby department

BertieBotts · 11/02/2021 17:18

Yeah I don't expect to spend €500 on baby stuff. Although actually by the time we've dealt with swapping the bedrooms, and got DS2 a bigger car seat (will prob need when baby is 8-12 months) it might come to €500. But then again we've done part of that spending on second hand sites, at ikea etc which is much cheaper than John Lewis, so probably wouldn't be able to use it even if we were in the UK.

Their clothes are lush though so even if you don't end up saving any money having £100 to spend in their clothing department would be 😍

Whatshouldbemyusername · 11/02/2021 17:25

@wimbler you’re a star! Natural Baby shower doesn’t have them in stock (although I want to get it in about 1-2 weeks) but all the same thanks for the tip about JLewis. Will definitely look at getting it from there.

@BertieBotts their clothes are amazing. I just got some last month for one of my best friends baby and the quality is so good! Their sales are great too.

Ladies it’s baby no.1 so I may make the most of the JohnLewis gift card. Baby stuff can get expensive. I was looking at it and it all adds up!
Thank you both x

@lucyrp bless you! honestly I’ve been forcing myself to do something so I try 3 times a week. Also when I say 40 minutes let’s not forget stopping in between loads to regulate my heart beat and stop panting like an animal! I’ve also been trying to go for 30 minute brisk walks 2-3 times a day whilst I can.

It’s abit of a pain in the beginning but after you do it you feel better. Maybe start like 10 minutes a day? Xx

notinthestarsigns · 11/02/2021 17:56

Had our 12 week scan today, everything was fine and all looking good for this stage which was a relief!

LyraShaeLilly · 11/02/2021 18:16

Impressed at you all fitting in exercise, I completed couch to 5K before I got pregnant and was on my way to building up to 10k but stopped when I found out I was pregnant. I do need to remind myself that exercise is safe and I will feel better because of it but I have no motivation atm.

BertieBotts · 11/02/2021 18:28

DH has signed us up for a yoga thing but we keep forgetting to do it :o

MrsB2019x · 11/02/2021 18:29

Good news about your scan @notinthestarsigns!

I have no idea how you are all managing exercise 😂 props to you though! I’m just lazy and so tired all the time

Alittlexmasmagic · 11/02/2021 18:44

My only exercise seems to opening the fridge and walking back to the dining table 🙈. My cold tolerance is at an all time low. I can't bear to go outside, even with half a dozen layers on x

lucyrp · 11/02/2021 20:47

@Whatshouldbemyusername now I've hit the second trimester I am thinking more about venturing outside etc so maybe as I get some of my energy back il be doing more but have found basic household chores a chore!😂 hopefully the weather will be nicer again soon. If the leisure centres were open I'd be going swimming but can't 😟xx

Whatshouldbemyusername · 11/02/2021 21:01

Also I realised I said I go for a walk 2-3 times a day. I meant a week 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤦🏽‍♀️.

@lucyrp swimming sounds perfect at this time. I’m 12 weeks +3 today ( I think. Scans next week to confirm). But definitely have good and bad days as we all do.

If I don’t sleep well I don’t exercise but today I literally forced myself. Felt good after.

I am really happy it’s Friday tomorrow. I’ve had a loooong week at work. Who else is thrilled?

Weekend plans for me include baking a jacket potato for sure this weekend and watching Firefly Lane on Netflix. I’m also reading “midnight library” so I just want to focus on getting some “me time”. Also go for a nice longer walk with my partner.

Is anyone doing anything exciting this weekend - well, lockdown exciting?😊

PurplePansy05 · 11/02/2021 22:31

Congratulations @notinthestarsigns, delighted for you 💐 xx

I'm making a DIY Valentine's afternoon tea from scratch this weekend, I mean baking, homemade sandwiches, scones and all. Can't wait 😊

I went for a long walk today with my friend, but I was so frozen when I got back. Will definitely wait for warmer days, my boobs still don't like the cold xx

biscuitcat · 11/02/2021 23:42

Both your weekend plans sound lovely @Whatshouldbemyusername @PurplePansy05 ! I thought it was Friday all day today so I'm feeling robbed having to work tomorrow. I'm going to my mum's this weekend (we're bubbled), DH is away with work and I don't fancy entertaining myself. He's back Sunday and we both totally forgot about Valentine's Day so no plans - homemade scones sound heavenly though, so I might steal that idea!

lucyrp · 12/02/2021 07:10

@Whatshouldbemyusername I did think 2-3 times omg what 😱😂 yeah I've almost been dreaming of going swimming, my DS is missing his swimming lessons and asks me every time we drive down the road when can he go back😟 I need to get into a routine of slathering myself in body butter because I'm so dry and itchy all the time so this weekend may go for a bath and do all my stuff after.

MrsB2019x · 12/02/2021 07:34

Morning ladies,

It’s Fridaaaaay! 🤩 this week has dragged. Work has been really stressful for DH this week so glad he’s gonna get some down time. No major plans, mainly will be watching the six nations most of the weekend!

WolfMother326 · 12/02/2021 08:05

Good morning everyone :)

@PurplePansy05 and others who had NIPT - if you had it done before the combined test, did you still have the blood test done? I am planning to just have the Nuchal Translucency but not the blood test as the NIPT is more reliable. But it would be good to hear what others did. Thanks!

Champson · 12/02/2021 08:43

Same here @MrsB2019x! We have no plans as usual. Just the rugby. This week totally dragged for me too - was feeling pretty exhausted. I got prescribed some iron pills this week by the consultant so I’m hoping they start to kick in soon!! Really looking forward to the weeeeeekend!

Alittlexmasmagic · 12/02/2021 08:54

12 week scan complete, all looking good. A few happy relieved tears shed. Now to wait for the screening results x

August 2021 - Scans and booking in!
BertieBotts · 12/02/2021 09:00

Yay weekend! I think we are going to be ordering and building ikea furniture :o maybe taking delivery of DS2's future bed.

I might write some job applications and hassle my old work to pay me D:

Smallbean27 · 12/02/2021 09:03

Congrats @Alittlexmasmagic!

Has anyone else started getting headaches? I don't normally get them but the last few days they are here with avengence! I'm not sure if it's more of a congestion thing as I am sneezing alot. Any remedies welcome!?

PurplePansy05 · 12/02/2021 09:37

Huge congratulations @Alittlexmasmagic, beautiful scan 💐

@WolfMother326 Yes I had the standard NT measurements and blood tests at my 12 week scan which was a week and a half after Panorama. It appeared that my Panorama results would come in around 4-5 days after my scan so I figured out at least if something was wrong, I'd have the initial blood tests as they'd call me within 48 hrs. In practice, I had my Panorama results the day before my 12 week scan but since all tests were already arranged by my midwife, I just went with them all.

I have a awful migraine today, woke up at 4am and couldn't sleep 😔 xx
