@Whatshouldbemyusername
I just think thats a very sad situation.

My Kally sleep U pregnancy pillow arrived at the weekend, it's very comfy but I need to work our what to do with my arms as I keep waking up with pins and needles as I sleep with my arms under my pillow.
A 20% off code has just popped up on my FB if anyone is interested "NHS20" I paid full price and am really annoyed I didn't see this code earlier.

PurplePansy05 · 08/02/2021 21:58

@LyraShaeLilly I was the same as you, I always wore underwire, good support bras as I'm a 34E. For the last month there was absolutely no way of me wearing them though, I was going braless tbh with outfits that could hide it. Now I have maternity bras and they're far more comfortable but this pain just sometimes arrives from nowhere.

@BananaHammock23 I feel EXACTLY the same. And all hail MN, ladies, I found an old thread which suggested a panaceum - warm compress, eg a flannel. Not hot, just comfortably warm. This horrible sensation is often brought on by the cold (which would match the cold weather!) and the best thing to do is counter-intuitive, keep your boobs warm! It has really helped me this eve, they are still sore, but completely manageable. I initially put a cold compress on before I found that thread and FML that killed me! I recommend you try this out, hope this works for you too! It also said to keep them warm at all times, so perhaps an extra vest, blanket etc would be helpful too. I don't care about the science, it works! ❤ #keeptheboobswarm xx

Hello girls! Finally had 12-week scan today. 3 babies and 3 heartbeats 💓 Can breathe a little sigh of relief now.

It was not an amazing experience - the doc gave us the option to reduce down to one baby. Really wasn’t expecting that. Gave us a few days to decide and we go back to tell them our choice on Thursday. We’ve decided to keep the three and see how we go. So the name of the game is “Keep the babies inside for as LONG as possible!”

They are named Twin A, Twin B and C for now 😂

Xxx

@BertieBotts beautiful photos!! Love those outfits, so colourful.

@Opalfruits2 congrats! I don’t have a clue what I’m looking for in pictures so I’m useless haha.

Re: finding out sex, nice to see so many who aren’t finding out. A lot do find out before nowadays unlike back in my parents day!
I would never have got the “it’s a boy/girl” moment after birth due to medical emergencies so with hindsight it’s good I found out before so I could enjoy it. I’m also quite impatient ha

LyraShaeLilly · 08/02/2021 22:14

@Champson

Wow 3 healthy babies thats amazing wishing you the best of luck.

Were you prepared for a multiple? Do they run in your family, I'm a twin but twins skip a generation so I wasn't worried!!!

PurplePansy05 · 08/02/2021 22:15

@BertieBotts your LO os adorable and so stylish 😍

You are right, Reynaud's was mentioned on the threads I read, also vasospasm and just simply hormones and preparation for breastfeeding, who knows. I always have cold feet and hands so maybe I'm prone to this. Will mention to the MW when I see her, think the warmth will help for now.

@Champson HUGE congratulations 💐 Gorgeous scans. I am sorry to be ignorant, but is this a normal suggestion in triplet pregnancies? What is his reasoning? I think I'd be rather upset if I was spoken to the way you have been. Big hugs 💐 xx

LyraShaeLilly · 08/02/2021 22:21

@PurplePansy05

Was also thinking this, i though it was only offered if one or more babies weren't thriving, but if all heathy then why the offer?

biscuitcat · 08/02/2021 22:34

@BertieBotts such lovely pictures, the fox jumper is just adorable!

@LyraShaeLilly I'm still wearing my normal bras, also underwired as I have big boobs so like the support. They're still fairly comfy so I'm trying to hold off on maternity ones but am wondering about bralettes. If anyone has any recommendations for big boobs that still offer OK support I'd really appreciate it! (And thank you so much for the Kally discount code! All ordered, DH unimpressed at the size of it 😂)

@Champson how exciting!! I've never seen a triplet scan before, and wonderful that they're all healthy ☺️

MrsB2019x · 08/02/2021 22:41

Eeeek @Champson that’s amazing! I do find it strange they asked about reducing to one though, I definitely wouldn’t have expected that and would be quite hurt at the suggestion tbh. Glad all 3 of your babes are healthy! They look a good size too. Glad you are feeling more relieved now Flowers

@BertieBotts He is just scrumptious 😍 lovely outfits too

PurplePansy05 · 08/02/2021 22:46

@LyraShaeLilly @biscuitcat My DH bought it for me for early Valentine's (true love lol), we didn't know about the code. He said they have some sort of a competition going whereby you can send/upload a photo of yourself with the pillow and if you win it they'll reimburse you. They run it weekly I think. Am mortified at the prospect of posing for this but then he promised if we win he'll get me more treats for VD 🤣 I know what you mean re arms positioning, I've recently started arranging myself with one arm only slightly underneath it so not much weight is put on it and it works. It takes some adjusting in the first week of using it xx

Whatshouldbemyusername · 08/02/2021 23:05

@LyraShaeLilly agreed. It is a sad situation but safe situation and fair one I think.

@Champson oh my! Hearty congratulations to you! Beautiful scans of Twin A, Twin B and Twin C. I will pray you keep having a healthy pregnancy x

Champson · 08/02/2021 23:45

Thanks all! Means a lot to have people excited and happy for us!!!

I don’t really know if it’s normal - I’m Canadian and it seems my doctor friends from home weren’t shocked about the suggestion. So maybe normal practice then? But then they were very happy with our decision to keep three and not at all scared or worried for us. Our doctor today was very matter of fact and started by saying she will support whichever decision we made so it’s not like there was any pressure either way. She gave us the stats on extreme pre-term birth rates for triplets versus singletons and that was that really. Also increased risk for cerebral palsy and other disabilities- mainly due to pre term labour. Less about how they’re doing now and more about the risks of them all coming too early. So did feel supported to make our own decision which was good. It’s an impossible decision to make without being a fortune teller, and we’ve just gone with our gut.

Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes!!! We need to keep em in until at least 28 weeks!!!

lucyrp · 09/02/2021 06:41

@LyraShaeLilly unfortunately yes you can get mastitis when pregnant even before you start breastfeeding I had it in my last pregnancy. Not something you want!

@Champson omg 3 health babies congratulations!! ❤️

PurplePansy05 · 09/02/2021 06:54

@LyraShaeLilly Woke up just now and realised where my left arm goes to be comfy, it's either in the space between Kally and my normal pillow or underneath both of them. I need a normal pillow tucked in under the "U" bit to sleep and this seems to sort it for me xx

Miniheart · 09/02/2021 07:39

Congrats @Opalfruits2 lovely photo!

@Champson triplets! What a miracle! Congrats! I was also surprised to hear what they offered you but it’s good that you felt well informed. Pictures are amazing.

I’ve noticed a few people talking about the kally pillow so maybe I’ll give it a go. I worry it’s going to fill our bed as we are only in a double so not loads of space. Sounds like it’s a good idea to get practicing with it to be able to sleep well. I usually lay on my tummy and like 1 quite flat pillow so I think a pregnancy pillow will take some getting used to for me.

ame88 · 09/02/2021 08:09

Morning ladies! I've been a little quiet for a while as have been a bit anxious and had some spotting. I decided to book a private scan for last night for reassurance and feel so much better. Measuring 4 days ahead at 11+5!
I feel like I can relax now and wait for my NHS scan on the 18th x

Alittlexmasmagic · 09/02/2021 08:23

@Champson wonderful pics!!
I'm not surprised at the doctor mentioning it. I'm a huge advocate of knowing your options and a good doctor should let you know them, as difficult as they might be to hear. Three babies to some people would be an overwhelming prospect and as was mentioned, come with increased risk (to you the mother and themselves). That said, your babies are much wanted and I'm sure you're in brilliant hands. So exciting!!x

@biscuitcat I'm going to treat myself to some Bravissimo bralettes. I was bought a voucher for my birthday which will be pointless keeping for pretty bras.x

My night nausea returned last night, first time I was sick without reason for a while. Hope it doesn't continue but I was congratulating myself on getting through the first trimester constant sick feeling stage.x

Whatshouldbemyusername · 09/02/2021 09:15

@ame88 congratulations. It’s a beautiful scan. Pleased you can have that peace of mind now lovely x

@Alittlexmasmagic I feel like my nausea is just doing what it wants to. It goes away then it comes back with a bang! I’ve had to email work to ask them to let me log in later as I feel drained today. Headaches and night nausea too!

WatermelonKisses · 09/02/2021 09:41

Morning all! So lovely to see more scans, I had mine yesterday too and pleased to see a wriggly baby. Took her ages to get the back of neck measurement but that meant I got an extra long scan! Due date is now 20th August (one day before I thought so I was pretty bang on with dates)

I also got my flu jab yesterday, feeling a bit headachey and groggy today with it, so taken some paracetamol.

@champson so delighted for you to see three healthy babies. Really hope it all goes smoothly for you beyond this point.

@biscuitcat I picked up some bralettes in Asda yesterday, £14 for two, they a come in a pack of two, black and white, I got the large and I'm usually a size 30 G and they fit great and super comfy. Didn't want to spend to much in case I change size/shape again!

WolfMother326 · 09/02/2021 10:47

I've got my 12 week scan coming up on Friday (will be closer to 14 weeks if the private scan I had 3 weeks ago was correct). Am really pleased, my hospital has said that DH can come to this scan which is a nice surprise. I'm not feeling too nervous about the appt, having already seen baby bouncing around at 11 weeks and also had the NIPT results, but I do hope everything is ok and will feel better afterwards!

I read that there's a charge for scan photos at the hospital - is this true? what have others paid for these?

Huge congratulations @Champson and @ame88 - what beautiful scans :) lovely to see those on a cold Tuesday morning!

Jessicapebbles · 09/02/2021 11:07

@WolfMother326 I paid £10 for 3 photo xx

lucyrp · 09/02/2021 11:30

@WolfMother326 we didn't have to pay for ours yesterday. I think maybe its an English thing but not in wales x

LyraShaeLilly · 09/02/2021 11:36

Those that were charged was this in an NHS hospital?

I had an early scan at 6 weeks and didn't expect a photo so early on but they handed one to me as I left, no charge was very pleased and am hoping the 12 week one is the same.

I think if you want more than 1 it's fair to charge but in the NHS surely one picture for Mum and Dad at no charge is reasonable?

Smallbean27 · 09/02/2021 11:41

Luckily we got 3 photos - usually would have to pay but due to covid we don't have to. Think it's because they use a machine for it so would be an infection control risk with everyone touching it! One good thing from covid I guess!

Alittlexmasmagic · 09/02/2021 11:46

It varies between trusts. I think DS's photos were something like £5 for 1 or £10 for 3. Multiples photos are free.
Will find out on Friday I guess whether they still charge.x
