Thank you ladies for your reassurance, I think it's because it appeared so suddenly after a long dry spell, the quantity is bigger than ever and it's completely odourless and see through, I panicked because I've never seen amniotic fluid and I genuinely could not distinguish it.

As expected, EPU fobbed me off 😔 I think I'll watch this overnight and if I'm still worried tomorrow then I'll call my private clinic, I'd rather get this worry out of my head tbh xx

Alittlexmasmagic · 04/02/2021 19:45

@BertieBotts would it be worth you trying washable liners like CheekyWipes? I switched as I pretty much bled constantly last time and pads/ liners chaffed immensely after a while. Never looked back since x

Smallbean27 · 04/02/2021 20:00

Another 12w scan, my bladder was fit to burst after waiting 30mins. Baby was very stubborn to get into a decent position but glad that everything is ok so far. Does anyone else still not feel very pregnant, or like it hasn't quite sunk in yet?

BananaHammock23 · 04/02/2021 20:02

@Smallbean27 I really don't think I'll ever believe it! I still don't dare tell all our friends incase it goes away. Lovely scan photo x

Smallbean27 · 04/02/2021 20:11

@BananaHammock23 Me neither, maybe when we see a bump it might sink in a bit more. Haha I get that, we are spreading it out a bit so we can enjoy it for longer. Thanks x

HopefulB · 04/02/2021 20:14

@Alittlexmasmagic, just what I was going to say! Wearing pads for a long time post surgery my skin would have completely fallen apart without washable, reusable pads. I’m a little disappointed the one’s I bought are very bulky, so I only use at home.
Disposables I’ve found to be fragrance free,
With organic cotton top are Lil-lets (I thought they only made tampons), they’re plastic free too, but I’ve not found anywhere that stocks them other than Amazon.

@PurplePansy05, do we actually have much amniotic fluid at this stage? I would have through that was much later? I realise I know nothing about this bit having not got this far last time. You should defo go with your instincts and get reassurance if it will make you feel better.

HopefulB · 04/02/2021 20:15

Great news on the scan @Smallbean27!

PurplePansy05 · 04/02/2021 20:18

Congratulations @Smallbean27, beautiful scan 💐

@HopefulB I really don't know. Probably not that much yet which is why I freaked out about losing any! Some very useful recommendations re pads though, thanks all, I didn't know they existed! xx

Champson · 04/02/2021 20:22

Congrats @Smallbean27 and @MrsB2019x!!! Another day of lovely scans. How wonderful! 🥰🥰🥰

MrsB2019x · 04/02/2021 20:50

Lovely scan @Smallbean27 🥰

MrsB2019x · 04/02/2021 20:51

Thank you @Champson, I am so excited to see yours!

BertieBotts · 04/02/2021 20:58

Ooh yes I don't know why I haven't thought of that before, I do have some reusable pads. I think because they're thicker than pantyliners I don't think to use them, but if I get on better with them, I could always order some thinner ones.

I could find fragrance free ones in the UK, and I always found things like Tesco's own etc to be absolutely fine, but now I'm in Germany the only two brands I can use are Comfort and Always. The own brands are all terrible and like something from the 1990s! Comfort were all fragrance free until last year and now all but one of their range are perfumed, or lightly perfumed, and it's not always clear on the packaging. We are trying not to go into shops and you don't get a very good choice for click and collect. Always I will have to investigate, but I'm suspicious of them.

Yay for more scan pics! Always so exciting!

Thank you *@Champson*, I am so excited to see yours!
Eeeek so nervous. Only 4 more sleeps to go 😬
biscuitcat · 04/02/2021 21:19

@Smallbean27 congratulations! The needing a wee while waiting is the worst 😂

I've found it feels a little more real now that I've had the scan but I still don't 100% believe that there's actually a baby in there!

I do relate to this! I have my 12 week scan on the 18th and was hoping that was my moment to believe this is all real!
This is such a crazy time isn't it!

Morning girls. Is anyone else still not in maternity clothes yet ? Getting a bit worried as I've got to 12 weeks and actually fitting back into clothes I haven't fit in for a while because they were too small 😫

Nowhere near maternity clothes here yet at 12 weeks! Definitely more bloated but still wearing normal jeans and if they're a bit tight then leggings.

In my first pregnancy I don't think I had a proper bump until 20+ weeks? And even then I just got by with a couple of pairs of maternity leggings and some oversized t-shirts!

lucyrp · 05/02/2021 08:55

@HangryDoughnut I was expecting to get a bit bigger sooner with my second pregnancy but I'm not big at all yet. Probably to do with the stone I've lost in weight since about 8 weeks. I have got a little bit of w bump but can fit in my small clothes still. Although some stuff is severely uncomfortable 😅I definitely had a noticeable bump by 18 weeks last time but have no pictures of before that so don't know whag to expect 🙈

MrsB2019x · 05/02/2021 08:55

@lucyrp I’m definitely not in maternity tops yet and I’m 13 weeks. My jeans are a bit too tight but they were pre-pregnancy anyway 😂 I can still fit in my regular leggings

afictionado · 05/02/2021 09:02

I've got a bump at 12 weeks but I'm pretty sure it's just carbs from all the bland food I've been constantly nibbling during the last few months. And it's my second baby. With my first I never wore proper maternity clothes (other than maternity bras) -- I just wore a bunch of loose dresses and wore leggings under my bump. But my bump (and baby) were never particularly big and I was induced early, so it'll be interesting to see how things go this time. I (unintentionally) lost a lot of weight after DS was born so for now I'm just wearing my old bigger clothes.

Congrats on everyone who's had a scan recently, I love all the photos. We must almost all be in the second trimester now which hopefully means a bit more energy is due to come our way. At the moment I'm almost as slow at walking as my toddler. 😳

biscuitcat · 05/02/2021 09:17

@lucyrp no maternity clothes here either! I'm feeling a bit bloated and my trousers usually feel a bit tight at the end of the day (though with working from home I'm often in a nice top and pyjama bottoms 😂), so I'm wondering about buying some at some point but doesn't feel urgent at all yet.

Alittlexmasmagic · 05/02/2021 09:19

@lucyrp still no maternity wear here either. I lost weight in lockdown so my ordinary clothes still have a bit of give. The weight I've gained during pregnancy has just gone on my tummy so whilst my shape has changed, I look fat not pregnant 😂 x

Whatshouldbemyusername · 05/02/2021 10:04

Good morning ladies and congratulations to everyone on their scans. Love seeing those photos! ♥️ I don’t have mine till 16th feb so still need to wait.

I just had a few questions though. I’m 11w + 4 days today (as per my app) and I’m getting a few cramps on the left side under my belly. Nothing tooo painful but it’s there and it comes and goes. Is this normal? I also had a slight lower back pain that lasted for literally a few minutes.

To note I have been very bloated since the last 2 nights so thinking it might be trapped gas? My morning sickness had disappeared at 10 weeks and 4 days but for the last 2 days it’s sort of back (in the evenings).

I haven’t had a scan so I am Abit concerned. I just hope all this is normal. I haven’t seen any spotting or bleeding but I guess I will feel better after my scan.

Any advice will be appreciated x

HopefulB · 05/02/2021 10:08

Yoga pants, leggings and big tops here at the mo, making the most of not seeing anyone in lockdown and staying comfortable! Only thing I’ve bought so far are Bra’s and a waterproof jacket (not maternity specific just 2 sizes up!) as I cycle everywhere and all running/cycling jackets I own were too uncomfortable over the huge boobs.

PurplePansy05 · 05/02/2021 10:16

@HopefulB I've invested in maternity bras too as I'm busty and now even bustier 😳 and boy, what a difference in comfort. Amazing. I bought some maternity clothes and have a bit of a bump, it's definitely more pronounced in maternity clothes which is quite funny! I took some photos and sent them to my mum, I look normal just a bit puffed up in some (in my usual clothes) and in my maternity clothes I look very pregnant 🤣 I've noticed it varies daily too, so some of it must be a carb bloat.

@Whatshouldbemyusername Hello! I don't think you need to worry, lovely, as long as it's just cramps and not cramps+bleeding or spotting it sounds pretty normal. Your uterus is stretching and it's most likely this. Most of us have experienced them 😊 xx
