@Rattycliffe @biscuitcat both fab scans!

Not sure if anyone else is interested but apparently the One Show is doing a Q&A session about covid and pregnancy either tonight or tomorrow x

Whatshouldbemyusername · 28/01/2021 10:32

@biscuitcat aaaw. Baby looks chilled! Great scan!

@Sprockerdilerock mine have grown and are veiny too. And somehow my thighs are abit veiny too!

@afictionado and @Jessicapebbles I’ve been getting heartburn from week 9 too. I’m still very tired and at week 10 +3 days I still try and squeeze a nap in over lunch break from work.

@WatermelonKisses thanks for the tip. Will check out the H&M bras!

Hope everyone has a good day today

Miniheart · 28/01/2021 10:46

Amazing photo @biscuitcat really pleased for you!

PurplePansy05 · 28/01/2021 10:54

Ah how lush @biscuitcat! Beautiful scan 💝 Delighted for you xx

MrsB2019x · 28/01/2021 11:19

@biscuitcat Lovely scan! 😍

Mine is a week today and I. CAN. NOT. WAIT. 😆

Smallbean27 · 28/01/2021 11:20

@Jessicapebbles I also got told I have a uti but had no symptoms. On antibiotics now, hope it is not going to be recurring!
Have noticed if I lean forwards then a little more does come out so maybe that's why.
Hope yours clears up soon!

Rattycliffe · 28/01/2021 11:25

@biscuitcat Lovely scan!

I got told I'd filled my bladder too well so they kept sending me out to empty it a bit.... it was torture trying to not let it all go 🤣 The things we have to go through!

WolfMother326 · 28/01/2021 11:33

@biscuitcat what a lovely scan! so nice to see.

Just to jump in on the maternity bra discussion, my boobs have gone up a size or two. They were really hurting (stopped about a week ago) and I couldn't wear any of my normal bras due to size and underwire. I bought a two pack of stretchy but supportive maternity bras from ASOS that I highly recommend. Google 'Lindex Mom 2 pack seamless nursing bra with lace trim in pink and purple'. They tend to run out of sizes but refill them quickly.

I heard from Harmony NIPT today that they've had a delay in their lab due to a machine going out of service, so they won't get the results back until Monday. Was hoping to know before the weekend, but just going to relax and try not to think about it...

Jessicapebbles · 28/01/2021 12:29

@Smallbean27 Weirdly I had no symptoms until just before they called me today. Just waiting on them doing my prescription..hope we both clear up soon!

HopefulB · 28/01/2021 12:40

Thanks for all the bra advice! Smile

Complete farce with my booking appt.
called last week (as soon as I had the 8week scan ticked off), GPs said, oh we only have one appointment before you will be 14 weeks and it’s not for a full hour. They offer to msg the midwife and say to expect a response on Thurs (2days later). No call Thursday, so I followed up on Friday, explained I’d had no response, and was told
the previously identified appt. had gone, but they’d now got one later the same day, I suggested this was booked to avoid missing out & give time to get my scan booked.

Today I got a phone call out of the blue to ask if I had an appointment today, I said no, next week. Would I like a phone appointment today? I asked how they would take bloods, then she said oh you’ll have to attend next week for that. I said in that case I’d rather do everything together as I’d already arranged time off work.

2 hours later I get a call to say next week’s appointment is only for 30mins therefore I have to have a telephone appointment today!

Fortunately one of my meetings is cancelled this afternoon, but not exactly confidence inspiring!!

MrsB2019x · 29/01/2021 08:31

What a faff @HopefulB!

I’m 12 weeks today, amazed to have made it this far 🥰

BananaHammock23 · 29/01/2021 09:06

@WolfMother326 I ordered the bras you recommended last night when it was 20% off. Hoping they'll ease the pain of carrying around these melons 😂

BananaHammock23 · 29/01/2021 09:08

I had my 12 week scan on Weds (the NHS one) and couldn't believe how impersonal and regimented it was! I'm soooo glad I'd been for a private one a few days before so my partner could come, because otherwise I don't think I'd have felt very reassured. Despite being told by the midwife that I could FaceTime/video for my partner, I was told that if I didn't put my phone away she'd stop the scan! I understand they're checking the baby's health rather than cooing over baby but it felt quite insensitive! Did anyone else find this?

biscuitcat · 29/01/2021 09:36

Thanks everyone - I was so unproductive yesterday as I kept looking at the pictures 😂 and I slept like a dream last night (apart from waking up to pee!) after hardly sleeping from nerves the night before!

@HopefulB oh what a pain, that sounds really poorly organised!

@BananaHammock23 that does sound insensitive, especially if you're having to have the scan without your partner already - you'd hope there would be some understanding that that's really tough and possibly quite emotional in itself. Sorry you had an experience like that, and so pleased you had a good experience with your private scan.

WolfMother326 · 29/01/2021 10:31

@BananaHammock23 I hope you enjoy them! I found the fit snug and helpful for the pain. Plus they are a little sexy too, as a bonus!

WolfMother326 · 29/01/2021 10:32

How is everyone today? I woke up at 3am last night from a bad dream about getting my NIPT results. I thought I wasn't even too worried about it, but obviously it's rattling around in my brain. Going to be a bit hard to get through the weekend not knowing the results.

Miniheart · 29/01/2021 11:10

Morning everyone, I’ve just got back from my private scan and it was incredible. My partner was with me and we saw the baby’s heart beat and baby’s body, arms and legs wriggling all over. I thought that I was 10 + 1 but baby is measuring more like 11. We got printed photos and about 20 images and a video sent to my phone. I’m absolutely over the moon and would really recommend a private scan if you have the means and need some reassurance, I felt really well looked after. It actually feels real now and I can start looking at maternity bits to buy!

@BananaHammock23 sorry to hear your NHS scan didn’t go well, good to hear that you had a better experience privately beforehand.

@WolfMother326 I hope the weekend goes quickly so that you can receive your results. Not surprising that it’s on your mind.

Hope everyone else is doing ok 😊

@BananaHammock23 sorry for your experience. Sounds dreadful.

@WolfMother326 Ofcourse it’s on your mind. Try to be positive. All will go well x

@Miniheart aaaw what precious scans! Glad to know you had a good experience and got to witness this little blessing X

Have a good day all.

MrsB2019x · 29/01/2021 12:52

@Miniheart What a cute scan! Its little foot is so detailed 😍

Sprockerdilerock · 29/01/2021 12:57

Amazing photos @Miniheart 😍

I had mine this morning too and measured 10+1 so spot on from my period dates! It was so amazing seeing him/her moving around, I had a tear in my eye! I'm slightly confused by the strange loopy bump on the head though, is it normal for scan photos to look a bit odd or is my baby going to have horns? 😂

@BananaHammock23 that's awful, I know they have a job to do but it doesn't cost them anything to be kind and friendly. Thank goodness for your lovely private scan Flowers

WolfMother326 · 29/01/2021 13:21

Such beautiful scan photos @Miniheart and @Sprockerdilerock!! Wonderful to see.

Thank you @Miniheart and @Whatshouldbemyusername - such a nerve wracking thing to go to but I know everyone experiences the same.

Miniheart · 29/01/2021 13:24

@Sprockerdilerock pleased your scan also went well! I also had a tear in my eye at the relief. Not sure what the loopy bump might be... probably just be the image slightly distorted? Hopefully you aren’t growing a little devil! Haha!

Jessicapebbles · 29/01/2021 14:12

@Sprockerdilerock Lovely scan photo. I could be wrong but it looks like baby has its hands up above its head. Looks like the start of little fingers on there! Xx

WatermelonKisses · 29/01/2021 14:30

Loving seeing all the scan pics!

@BananaHammock23 sorry to hear your experience wasn't good, sounds like they were quite rude!

@Sprockerdilerock it looks like a little crown but I think it's hands! Royal baby 😂

WinterBabyof89 · 29/01/2021 18:15

Lovely scan photos @Miniheart and @Sprockerdilerock !! How cute xx
