Happy Birthday Bettymamma hope you have a lovely day, are you doing anything after tour of hospital?

Ayreshire - glad i made you laugh .. I am very quickly coming around to a winnie the pooh way of thinking when it comes to food.

Lulubump - thanks for update, SIL sounds def very odd, not convinced she is preg from what you said.

LuckySalem - HOw are you doing? Hope you ok. Been thinking of you x

Beller - I know what you mean about being teary. Ds read his reading book to me and last part was about letters home during the war. Was from a little girl evacuee to her mummy, the girls auntie had written to her to tell her about bombing and that her mum was one of the best workers. LIttle girl didnt get it in her letter. I blubbed.

Sabinar - thanks for update on plume of smoke. Saw it flash up on tv earlier but didnt hear what was happening. Thankful no one hurt

Flufflymummy - your post about you ds made me really smile. He sounds adorable.

MamaMaiasaura · 12/11/2007 13:40

IS anyone else feeling comletely knackered when they walk anywhere? Went into town this morning and wanted to stop and sit at every bench. Actually felt like sitting on the floor like a toddler and refusing to move.

Bettymamma · 12/11/2007 13:43

Thank you for the birthday wishes - you are all lovely ladies.

Lulubump - How pregnant is your SIL meant to be? Any sign - tired, sick, bloated tummy?? She sounds a nutter! You're suposed to go clubbing every weekend at 21 aren't you.

Beller - Mixedmama - yes we all had a concerned moment when the big black cloud of smoke came over the city. Bit scary. Hopefully just an accidental fire on the Olympic site.

Beller - sad to see Penny leave Strictly Come dancing. Thought of you!

katy1 - hugs to you

sabinar - i think men forget what happens once the pregnancy thing is over and the real hard work begins!! Good to hear you had a good appointment.

MamaMaiasaura · 12/11/2007 13:45

just been on I am pregnant website and cant believe only 48 days to go. If this one arrives at 38 weeks like ds1 only 34! Seeming scarily but excitingly real.

Bettymamma · 12/11/2007 13:47

Hi Awen - I'm not very good even walking quickly up the stairs!

After tour - I think i might be a bit knackered so my mum has offered (whilst baby sitting) to cook my dh and I steak and chips. Yum. Hope its not too late in the evening and the dreaded indigestion rears its ugly head!

What's the winnie the pooh thinking to food? Lots of honey??

MamaMaiasaura · 12/11/2007 13:48

Winnie the pooh likes LOTS of meals So makes them up, bit like my idea of breakfast pudding.

Amani · 12/11/2007 13:59

Awen - love the tread you have going in the pregnancy section

MamaMaiasaura · 12/11/2007 14:04

Hiya ladies!
Happy birthday bettymama!
Lulu your fruitcake of a SIL sounds like an attention seeking numpty, but yeah, how far gone is she meant to be and is there any evidence? Gossip please!
Awen, yup, i can so understand the W the P thing.. in fact i think it might be about time for a little bit of something soon.... don't remember him having to pack the Rennies before leaving the house though! I know you're due loads before me but you still scared the sh** out of me with the day count, Eeek! I've done NOTHING about the new arrival except mention to dh how much we still have to do!
Fluffy / MrsmcJ.... if you don't mind a gatecrasher i could prob be about in central Glasgow those afternoons, we could make it a mini meet up? Won't be offended if you don't fancy it but would be nice to meet just even for a coffee (decaff of course!)
Anyway, better pretend to get on with some work, will try to check in later!lolo xx

Lulubump · 12/11/2007 14:16

Awen - PMSL about your thread on perineal massage! You're so right, how any pregnant woman is mean to reach all the way there, I'm not quite sure.

Lulubump · 12/11/2007 14:32

for everyone wondering about my SIL showing pg signs - I haven't seen her since her big announcement, but she is coming up this weekend, so I'll share all the goss then!

I do know she's 10 weeks along, has no sickness, and is not planning to buy any maternity clothes except some interesting contraption that lets your pre-preg clothes stretch out (somehow attaches to waistband, like a bra-extender).

She says she is more tired than usual. Hadn't heard of Bio-oil until I told her she should be using something for stretchmarks now, rather than waiting util her skin already started stretching, had no clue about folic acid, didn't know about limited caffeine intake, and actually seems to have researched NOTHING about the dos and don'ts of pregnancy......surely this is one of the first things each of us googled when we had our first BFPs???

She hasn't bought herself any pregnancy multivitamins, and is taking some her boss has given her from when his wife had a child LAST YEAR. why? who knows!!

Getting more and more sceptical that she's really preggers. Will relay what I think when I see her on the weekend.

beller · 12/11/2007 14:45

lulubum- -- shes either not pregnant..or in some sort of denial..dosnt sound like shes taking too much care?

Awen - im like that...cant believe how out of breath im getting just walking from my house to the high st ( hill involved), i used to run up it !! To be expected though i suppose 46 days as well Awen.....eekk!

bettymamma - yeah i watched it too...apparently she left straight after and wouldnt go to the bar with the others!

fluffymummy · 12/11/2007 14:55

Lolo - if I do end up in Glasgow overnight on 27th it would be lovely to see you too!! Must admit that I'm going to be doing my best to get away back to London that afternoon....!!

Lulu - she's a nutter. Either way, just keep on thinking 'run away, run away'!! Not sure if its worth you sharing your pregnancy expertise with her - if she really is up the duff then there's quite a few more issues she needs to deal with before worrying about bio oil

Awen - can you post a link to your other thread? It sounds as though I'm channelling the same vibe...can't stop eating, even when not particularly hungry....don't dare to list what I've eaten so far today

Katy/everyone - I was totally blue most of yesterday...I hate these hormones, they leave you totally out of sorts for no reason at all....

Right, off to do a bit more work then bunking off early as have been a bit naughty...promised myself underwired bras this pg (hated being saggy last time) and of course committed to being fitted/buying new to avoid mastitis on a regular basis. Bought last (only fitting) bra at 13 weeks (normally 34DD, this one is 34E) and still wearing old & new ones now at 30 weeks when they clearly don't fit and are flipping uncomfortable...so off to John Lewis before I spend the rest of the week in Glasgow with really bad strap marks...!!!

gingeme · 12/11/2007 15:00

Afternoon ladies.
Awem Im permenantly knackered wether I go anywhere or not. We went to do a little bit of shopping this morning and felt like I had been walking for 3 days.
Hate feeling like this
Think Ive finnished Christmas shopping now though. Got my Mum a fab handbag off Ebay. Hope she likes it. Dads slippers and socks just got to get dh something now. Not sure what yet.
We got some yummies from Greggs this morning. Had chicken slice for lunch. About an hour ago I had an apple danish and I have just finnished off a cup of tea with a mince pie oink oink comes to mind.

MamaMaiasaura · 12/11/2007 15:04

fluffymummy - blooming marvelous have anita bra in stock up to F cup I think. Underwired and lovely.

confessions thread here

madmouse · 12/11/2007 15:27

gingeme

Oink oink? Sounds entirely normal and reasonable to me. How else are we supposed to keep going? .

fluffymummy · 12/11/2007 15:30

I love it Awen...thank you for giving me somewhere I can be honest

Right, off to go bra shopping - wish me luck!!

LuckySalem · 12/11/2007 17:48

Afternoon/Evening all.

Been busy nappying in bed!! hahaha

Happy Birthday bettymama!!

Off to do some shopping as have nothing in to eat. I'm trying to become a domestic goddess except I can't cook!! well you know easy things I can cook but I do tend to burn them. he he

Very impressed by all who have started xmas shopping!! I don't even know what I'm going to get everyone except that it has be VERY cheap! (feel like a skin flint but with me not working and baby coming I really don't have a choice)

MrsMcJnr · 12/11/2007 20:37

Hey ladies I never did get back to catch up on Friday night and now I am behind again! Had a busy weekend and then had this afternoon off to go to my first antenatal class, it was ok, not sure what I expected but was a bit disappointed! I hope you are all well, I?ll try to catch up quickly

nicky6 · 12/11/2007 20:41

hi all trial started jury have been told to be avaiable until 18th january which means in theory i have to be yikes, does not seem fun but will cross fingers it finishes early bye for now

ayrshirelolo · 12/11/2007 21:05

Evening all!
Fluffy it would be fab to see you and MrsMcJ and anyone else who could make it around then - i could really do any evening but i totally understand, any time i get sent down south i just want to get home to my own bed! let me know how it's looking nearer the time!
Just had huge dinner of fish and real chips (sin i know!) and cauliflower with cheese sauce, followed by Hob Nob chocolate flapjack bar and am now looking for something else to demolish... i feel like a gannet! i'm already the size of a small bungalow and it's gonna get worse before it gets better! Fingers are now like wee sausages, although that's probably more about the carpal tunnel syndrome i got last time and am heading for again than eating too much! Wedding ring is now on a chain around my neck till after lo arrives.
MrsMcJ sorry the class was a bit pants, when you get a chance tell us all about it. A friend of mine described hers as a bossy midwife stating the bloody obvious to a bunch of disaffected teenagers... hope yours was better than that!
Nicky6 you are a brave lady! Hope the geezer changes his plea, or jury directed to aquit due to insufficient evidence or whatever means you get to leave without losing! (don't know which side you're on - sorry, i'm sure you said - excuse the preggy brain!)
I've now only got 4 more Mondays to go - have official maternity meeting with personel on Wednesday morning -beginning to see the end of the tunnel! Anyway, shattered again, so off to bed, hope you all sleep well.. lolox

MrsMcJnr · 12/11/2007 21:54

Beller not long now until mat leave for you! massages sound like a plan there is a place here with a special table for pregnant women and I keep meaning to book a slot don?t know why but I was thinking about you yesterday, you just popped into my head and I felt you were going to have a girl, odd hey?! Managed to show a decent as opposed to indecent amount in the dress courtesy of a safety pin glad you liked it you must have thought the worst when you saw that smoke!

My last pregnant friend due before me had her baby today baby girl so I am next!

Gingeme ? hope your baby has been a lot more active over the past few days and re-assured you, I hate the quiet days I am convinced that my baby isn?t half as active as everyone else?s! How is DH now? Glad you liked the dress hope the DCs are better and that you enjoyed your birthday lunch thanks for the tips on the wipes and cotton wool I haven?t had cravings really but I have gone off things!

Amani ? how are you feeling? Infection gone? thanks for your compliments on the dress, I did feel nice in it at the Christening I?m still undecided on slings ? think I would like a jersey material wrap sling (already have my sister?s Baby Bjorn) Pickled onions ? ugghgggh!

Mixedmama ? sorry about the financial worries and the fact that you have to move in with your BIL that sounds tough (and he sounds like a lout) ? how are you feeling about things now? DH and I have had a few financial words recently too and after much stress, I think we have worked out a plan to see us through until May even if we don?t sell up until then, it means borrowing rather than using equity but beggers can?t be choosers. I?m so hoping we sell and can move to Spain like we want to in May rather than me go back to my job here but I guess I have to consider it as a possibility glad you liked my dress how lovely about the baby shower I?d love one but don?t think I?ll get one ? I organized my own hen night!

Luckysalem ? how are you? Hope all the stress with work (the gits ) is not getting to you and that is good news that you should get SMP must get my stuff on eBay too, you?ve reminded me! What you describe sounds like BH to me.

Madmouse ? sorry to hear about your fall on Friday, I hope you are ok I?m sorry to hear about you losing your Mum so young

Awen ? I?m sure your DP won?t be able to resist cuddling your baby when it arrives I noticed that there were some comfy looking nursing bras in the NCT catalogue too. I spotted a nice Freya one as well as some Royce ones at Bravissimo too.

Susiemj I?m only interested in baby things too I help DH with his Spanish homework each week (he?s at the Uni doing an intensive course) it?s good revision for me too I guess but sometimes I get frustrated with him as he wants to run before he can walk and can?t get his head round verbs etc! How exciting about all that stuff arriving. I washed some of Beanie?s clothes today and took a photo of them on the line is the Hauck the buggy that can sit really high? I have heard that it is bad luck to have a buggy in the house. We are collecting ours on 9/12 ? I?ll be 35 weeks then, I think that?s ok. Thanks for the cami tip, I really do need one of those so glad to hear you are so much better felt so sorry for a girl at my AN class today, she had to lie down half way through ? it was hot as hell but she looked so ill

Sabinar ? hope this week is a quiet one and you can relax after last week!

Hello and welcome AngelKG77 how are you finding Glasgow in contrast to NYC?! I work in Edinburgh now but worked in Glasgow for a few years, love the place actually

Chunkypudding ? sounds like chaos, hope you get your kitchen on Weds I got my NCT invitation last week and the classes start this Sunday!

Fluffymummy ? hope DS and the Nanny are better I?ve had those cramps in my legs at night, try not to flex your feet, I?ve also started drinking tonic water, it?s meant to help now seen what Gingme said ? I don?t drink that much of the stuff! thanks for your lovely comments about the dress, I did feel nice in it sounds like you had lovely Sunday with DS not sure if our rendez vous is going to work ? I have to be back home for about 6 that night as have someone coming over we?ll try though! Singapore zoo is amazing isn?t it? DH and I did the night safari on Honeymoon last year, it was awesome! there?s a fab Bravissimo in Glasgow!

Hello Naetha

Ayreshirelolo ? felt nice in the dress but suspect that I did look like a ribena berry! LOL at your description of yourself as ?slightly slutty? I love that! You sound so relaxed I want to be like that rather than panicking about not having enough cotton wool constantly! would love to meet you

Katyt1 ? not heard of doesmybumlookbiginthis ? sounds interesting.

MrsB you look lovely and streamlined in your pic! hope the car sells soon, everything crossed for you.

Nicky6 ? your life sounds exhausting! Take care now! Well done for winning those tickets, that?s fab! hope the trial goes your way

Hey Lilyloo ? have you tried eBay for a birthing pool? I am shattered and can?t wait for mat leave I have to say but still have 6 weeks well, it?ll be 5 on Friday

Happy Birthday Bettymama I?m like you ? internet all the way for Xmas shopping!

Lulubump hope you had a good birthday too how lovely that DH surprised you your SIL sounds nuts!

Phew!! Caught up just in time for bed sleep dreams all!!

Oohhhh meant to say, if we wear silky pjs/nighties, it?s meant to be much easier to roll over in bed
