Potatoes now on

Beller glad you had a good laugh and met some nice people at you?re an classes. Sorry your jags hurt wow ? it must all seem so real with the MW now! Glad all is well with you and with Babybel ? fingers crossed the glucose doesn?t rise! Sounds interesting about the moving body parts!

Amani!! Mince pies already! can?t you use wipes on babies from birth? My sis told me to buy some for my hospital bag as I won?t have ready access there to use water and cotton wool, I have bought some Boots own sensitive ones. Hope you are still resting

Mixedmama ? glad your DS is on the mend.

Naetha wow sounds like it?s all go at your house! Hope the BP gets lower, I?m finding mine much lower these days (which is good as it was high before) I think it is because I am less frightened of the MW now. I?m hoping to get the room properly cleaned this weekend, clear out the chest of drawers for Beanie, wash it?s clothes (dying for a nice day as I want to take a photo of them all on the line ), put in the nice drawer liners I got today and see what else I need to get from my list. My SIL wants to talk to us about a pressie too ? really sweet of her oh must pack that bag too!! Those sensations sound interesting

Madmouse ? hope DH is feeling better I refuse to buy a coat so I am wearing DH?s! there was a girl at the physio class yesterday wearing her husband?s clothes too wow ? still cycling! I?m seriously impressed.

MrsB glad all is well with you. I love your wedding pic (I went on to look for the bump pic ) is your DH in the services? I like his uniform )

Fluffy ? ohh sorry to hear you had a lot of stitches ? uggh ? I?m so scared of tearing/being cut hope everyone in your family gets a lot better soon.

Thinking of all those not posting at the mo and sending you all good, healthy vibes

Ohhh Gingeme your poor DH!!

LuckySalem sorry about the bad news at the job centre ? doesn?t sound right to me though?!

Angechica sorry the class was disappointing we were warned by the physio at the hospital yesterday to bring our balls along to labour ? must get an indelible pen to write my name on it!

Ahh dinner now!!

LuckySalem · 09/11/2007 20:19

MrsMc - I think you should change your name to that!! hahaha

gingeme · 09/11/2007 20:42

Mrsmcj I used water and cotton wool till baby was about 4 omths old. I also found pleats better because its a bigger piece to wipe with rather than a little cotton wool ball iyswim?
Th first wipes I use are the simple ones. A little expensive but they deffo have no scent.
I remember my sister eating mini gherkins on EVERYTHING when she was pregnant with my niece. Even her cornflakes
I havnt had any cravings this time. Mind you I didnt with any realy.
Has anyone had any ?
ds3 much better today. He ate all his dinner tonight and a yoghurt which he hasnt done for a few days. Thats how we know hes poorly when he doesnt eat.
Baby moving lots tonight.

ayrshirelolo · 09/11/2007 21:37

Hiya folks!
Welcome AngelK! Congratultions! Just about had time to scan everyone's posts from the last day or two... hope you are all ok!
Can't do a a Mrs Mcjnr or a Susie coz i'm scared i'll confuse you all with each other but just a wee meander through what's been happening...
Salt water 3 times a day...ouch! not letting dh knopw about that as he's "volunteered" for the snip once this one arrives!
Wipes on newbies.. hospital/midwives/health visitors advised me only to use cotton wool and water for at least first month or so as skin so sensitive, and newbies don't really need soap or shampoo either, just water (in my experience!) Means they don't really smell like cartoon babies to start with (you know, that Johnston's baby powder smell!) but MUCH better for their skins apparantly. Might be a lot of tosh though!
Gherkins, pickles etc.... yum yum! Isn't pregnancy weird?
MrsMcj - gorgeous posh frock! Enjoy looking fabulous, i'm just jealous coz i feel like the size of a bus!
I didn't buy a preggy coat (i'm normally a very wee person!) but instead i bought a big black cloak (v cheap and warm.. Tesco!)which might make me look like Batman but at least it sort of does the job for work and stuff!
Afternoon naps... ah! bliss! had one today, i ws off work coz i get flexi time (yeah, i know, i'm a very lucky lolo!)and they owed me loads. My mum came down with my 4 year old nephew to see me and dd and when they went at about 2pm both of us went for a nap, can't wait till mat leave and i can do it daily!
Re Always and stitches... i had an episiotomy with dd (don't lose any sleep about it folks, no where near as bad as i thought, it was my great fear before the birth and was actually ok, i was back being my normal slightly slutty self with dh within about 4 weeks sorry if that's tmi!!)anyway, i used Always nightime and they were fine, but will ask my midwife next week what the story is!
Leg cramps.... nightmare! Had them last time too, and wondered if it might also be a bit of sciatica? Bloody sore! only thing that works is walking about and / or paracetomol if stuck, sympathy to all!
Going to wander to kitchen before bed and eat some of the pineapple i have waiting in the fridge, i really want the chocolate but it will give me heartburn and the pineapple shouldn't... well, it works for me and tastes a dam sight better than Gaviscon!
have a good one ladies! lolo xx

katyt1 · 10/11/2007 12:46

no way i can do a mrsmc either, brain is in meltdown anyway

i bought a maternity coat this time, i got so fed up last time. i got one form jojomamanbebe for 40quid and i love it. really cosy and i think i could wear it afterwards for a bit (esp as the scales are telling me bad things... )

no weird cravings for me, just more dairy products - will do anything for a chocolate milkshake and lots of cheese...

i hired a dress from doesmytumlookbiginthis for a do last night, it only just fit but was well worth it, 30quid and no shopping have to remember to post it back later.

knackered today tho, didn't get to bed until 11.30 and even then couldn't sleep.
ds doing really well in his big boys bed, tho dh has just told me he is wandering around up there now instead of sleeping, think disciplinarian mum may have to have a go....

hello everyone

MrsBiscuit · 10/11/2007 15:06

Ugh, sore feet. Just done an hour's ironing, but did get to catch up on Project Runway . Off to Suffolk tonight; luckily not allowed to drive DH's pool car, so will be able to put my feet up at least.

Katyt1 - I've just clicked on that hire website; could be the answer to Christmas party woes! Thank you .

gingeme - glad DS is feeling a bit better.

MrsMc - we're a bit slow on technology this side, and have just worked out how to download pictures from DH's phone. So bump now on view to the world! Yes, DH in army. He doesn't like me putting pictures of him on the internet so I only get to post ones of his back!

  • not had one phone call about my car all week and until it's sold, we can't upgrade to something with 4 doors.

Hope everyone's having a nice weekend.
x

LuckySalem · 10/11/2007 15:18

Hey MrsMC - I don't do ironing, DP irons his shirts for work but everything doesn't get ironed. I've always swore I wouldn't do ironing but I know that'll change once little 'un appears.

Baby is well awake today, and something is in my ribs, doesn't feel pointy though (arms or legs) so could be a bum.

On another note, I've just put a load of crap on ebay to raise abit of money and my typing website went live this morning.. woohoo it's will-type-for-you.co.uk/default.aspx if you're interested hehe.

I'm off to watch last night's bones now! New series woohoo!

katyt1 · 10/11/2007 19:34

LuckyS - just watching bones now, love it!
as for ironing, i'm not a fan and don't do dh's shirts either but as for ironing baby stuff, no way! i guess girly dresses & tops might need it but boys stuff totally doesn't. and if you find yourself ironing vests, step away from the iron!!!

good luck with the typing thing

MrsB - have fun in suffolk, or at least with your feet up for a few hours, glad to help with the dresses

right, off to play on ebay

MamaMaiasaura · 10/11/2007 21:40

I am shite at keeping up atm.

MrsMcJnr - the Anita bras are in blooming marvellous but they only supply up to F cup. Tried on their 36 F, got an idea of support although was clearly too small. Hence going up 2 cup sizes. Am going to have to order online. Will get the one and see how it fits before getting more. Think they only go up to a H, but at least underwired and quite pretty.

Amani · 11/11/2007 10:59

Morning all!

Anyone doing anything nice today?

Mrs Biscuit - just seen your pictures, your wedding one is so sweet!

Mrs McJnr - We were told by the mw at AN classes not to use wipes for a while - but can't remember how long she said!!! By the way it's never to early for mince pies. I've seen the Morrisons advert for them with cream in the middle - so going to pop over to my local one (which is a few miles away) just to get them!!

Just read that someone of the 'due in Dec' thread had thier baby - making this all seem like it's not long to go.

OP posts:
fluffymummy · 11/11/2007 15:30

Katyts1 - how old is your ds? We just put our ds1 into his 'big boy' bed last night, after he helped DH to built it in the afternoon....been talking about it for a few weeks but wasn't sure how it would go...he slept fine (altho unsurprisingly took a long time to go to sleep!) but woke up a lot earlier than normal this morning (7am!! ) altho he did stay in bed playing with his animals until DH went in around 8.15. He's back there now for his afternoon nap, but it doesn't sound very nap-y to me!!!

Took ds to London Zoo this morning and decided to join since I'm going to be around lots over the next 12 months and its a great place to go with kids if you don't have to pay £14.50 for an adult ticket each time...its only about 20 mins from our house, so I can really imagine popping in lots over the summer....kids under 3 are free, so I won't have to pay for ds or bump through the summer, which is great He had a great time, although was quite disappointed at the lack of elephants

Knackered now tho...really hope ds goes to sleep for a bit so I can have a quiet cup of tea

Speak soon, love to all xxx

nicky6 · 11/11/2007 16:48

Hi everyone - sorry no posting but too much working going on at this end plus very busy week with theatre and dinner and then yesterday had to go to a work function all day which involved me taking 4 differennt trains to get there and back and then i had to opick up my car my sister then drive to pick up both my brothers and then down to kent coast from london to a wedding reception, then did the same in reversa and arrived back home at 1.00 am was a bit weary!!!

Been working today as murder starts tomorrow.

Not sure if i mnetioned it but won 2 return tickets for that new silverjet business class fligh to NEw York, now i just have to check that they are extendable til sometime after lo born!!!!

Not able to catch up but hope you all fighting fit and well

LilyLoo · 11/11/2007 17:10

evening all hope everyone well. things so busy at the mo trying to get osrted for xmas and baby. Have virtually finished xmas shopping now and have most things i need for baby, just trying to get a birthing pool now so if anyone knows anyone who is getting rid of one let me know Am with you all with the leg cramps i havne't tried the bananas but will do i just have dp pushing my legs as far back as my bump will allow! Am feeling much bigger now and styarting to get uncomfortable and am slightly at why i have booked the santa Lapland day with a 4 hour drive for in 3 weeks now.
Am counting down the days till mat leave and really can't wait although it seems ages yet, how are you doing MrsMc keeping going until 21st ?
LuckyS hows things going on the work front ? Did you get any advice ?
Awen has Dp gone yet ? I seem to remeber he was going away near my birthday ?
Well off to eat dinner now, hope everyone keeping well LL X

madmouse · 11/11/2007 17:20

MrsMcJ cycling is no big deal, except I can no longer get up the hill between home and station, so have to push the bike up by hand. Not nice combined with B-H contractions though . Doing 8 miles a day and hoping to keep it up for three more weeks until mat leave. LOL at the idea of wearing DH's coat. He is 5ft6 (I am 5.5) and a lot skinnier than me . Bought a cheap XL fleece to tide me over. Not as warm as my normal Berghaus, but I am hot all the time anyway.

Anyone else does naps on Saturday afternoons? I used to hate naps...But DH was nearly better and now he has another cold and is coughing and moaning again. Poor thing, but not very good for sleep!

Hi everyone, hope you all had a relaxing weekend. Can't believe it is nearly over already

LuckySalem · 11/11/2007 18:21

Hi everyone,

Just got back from my mums for a nice sunday roast (turkey) was loverly!!

Can someone tell me what do BH feel like cos I think i'm getting them but I'm not sure. I've got like a tightness across the top of my bump. Also everynow and again I get a feeling like trapped wind but doesn't feel like I need to release it IYKWIM.

Glad to hear people are ok and I can't believe someone has already given birth on the Due in Dec thread!! I'm panicking now!!! So NOT READY!!

ayrshirelolo · 11/11/2007 21:06

Hiya all!
Hope everyone isok and has had a good weekend, nicky6 i'm surprised you have the energy to type after that! Look after yourself, you make me feel like a total wimp!
lilyloo i haven't bought anything at all yet... but then again i know Christmas will happen anyway (i'm having my inlaws this year) and i always think having no time to shop concentrates the mind somewhat on what everyone gets! Anyway this year i have an excuse to but everyone books online... at least that's the plan at the moment!
It did occur to me though that i haven't bought a damn thing for the baby yet, although still have all the moses basket / crib / car seat / pram stuff from dd so not that bad i suppose! Just need some wee tiny nappies and some teensie sleepsuits and vests - no point in buying much else until i know what flavour little beenie is! Hoping i'll have time to get myself organised during my lovely 6 weeks off before due date, if not dh can run around like a looney getting everything all sorted! I did find my maternity nighties the other day and chucked them in the wash, so feeling that at least i've made an attempt to do something... bit pathetic though, eh?
Madmouse, i'm SO impressed at the cycling, i have great difficulty remembering where my centre of gravity is to walk efficiently never mind balance on 2 wheels just now, and i'm SO with you with naps at weekends, total delight! although have a feeling i might begin to flag after lunch at work tomorrow as my body clock will be telling me it's time for a "quality lie down" at about 2pm!
Luckysalem they sound like BH's to me, it's the tightness thing that's the dead giveaway!
I was at my mil's this morning for one of her famous and enormous breakfast specials, so been unable to face any other food today until about half an hour ago when i had apple crumble and custard.... not exactly balanced diet but SO nice when someone cooks you a huge meal!
Awen, maybe i should have posted that on your other thread, you made me pmsl about "breakfast pudding" and feel much better!
Fluffy glad the bed thing worked, and the zoo thing sounds fab, so far my dd has only really seen sheep, cows, dogs and cats! Nothing similar up here, except Edinburgh but too far for a regular jaunt! Glasgow zoo was so crap they closed it!
Oh well, only got 5 more weeks at work.. sounds a lot but only 25 days.... much better!
love to you all, lolo xx

Angechica · 11/11/2007 21:19

Sunday evening, boo. Had a v quiet weekend, got my wedding dress cleaned and am putting it on Ebay for maternity leave "skint fund".

I had a nap yesterday and today in the afternoons, I like to just chill out and watch the alien antics going on in my tummy!

Been bouncing on my new gym ball, without really knowing what I'm supposed to be doing!

The dog doesn't like it though.

gingeme · 12/11/2007 09:06

Good morning ladies.
So of you having naps. Im lucky if I get 5 hours sleep at night now let alone sleep in the day time too.
Had quite a busy weekend. Went out with the in laws Saturday. We met up and had lunch out and did a bit of shopping. Spent ds4's birthday money. Got him a briliant tractor and trailer with animals on that make sounds and the farmer sings 'Old McDonald'.
Yesterday we did the housework between us then had Sunday lunch out which was yummy.
Going to finnish my Christmas shopping today. Just last minute bits like socks for my Dad and slippers for dh.
ds3 back to school today. He still has his cough but I think he is well enough to return.
Belly feeling huge today! Quite itchy too.
Well have a good day all. xx

mixedmama · 12/11/2007 09:52

Morning everyone...

Glad to see we are all doing relatively well.

Fluffy - just wanted to say that I am moving back to kentish town / gospel oak and London Zoo is close by for me as well so would love to take the kids to the zoo.

Will post final meet up numbers on Wednesday and am working to try to change my shift for 19 Nov to attend Mem and Laz.

Had a really nice weekend after a few quiet ones. DS had a birthday party to go to on sunday. he enjoyed himself but didnt really play with other kids which upset me abit, but am committing to getting him into nursery for one or two mornings and also I will soon be on mat leave so lots of play dates and toddler groups.

A few friends threw me a surprise baby shower on Sat night so that was lovely altho got home at 1.30 and was shattered.

Yesterday we spent cleaning out cupboards ready to move. Spoke to my dad about moving (which is a little childish I know) but do like to get my dads take on things and feel much better now. Plus, Dh and I have been making plans about the changes we want to make to make it our home again. Feeling quite positive now and also have ssome friends with chcildren same age as DS thata i made last time so that will be niice.

sabinar · 12/11/2007 09:55

I am beyond impressed with all of you who have finished or even started your Christmas shopping... I am nowhere near that organised, however this week I have a slightly slower looking work week so think it is finally time to do all those things that need doing - like things that the baby would really need if he arrived tomorrow, finally getting curtains sorted for our house (to keep some more heat in and to create a nice dark sleeping environment for the little one), sorting out finally swapping over my driver license to a UK one (and then maybe getting a car) and maybe even some Christmas stuff. I also have vague thoughts of a haircut and a massage... we'll see how we go.

I had the quietest weekend ever. Think that I overdid it last week and could hardly get off the couch all weekend, was quite pathetic. Feeling much more energetic this morning though.

Just as well as midwife will be here in about 10 minutes (eh, the appointments come around so quickly these days don't they!)

hope you all have a happy and productive day!

fluffymummy · 12/11/2007 10:12

Good morning everyone! Sun is shining and I actually managed to get some sleep last night, so despite still having about 9.5 weeks to go in the office (10 weeks till EDD...eek!) I'm feeling quite today! Hurrah!

DS has now slept really nicely in his bed for 2 nights and seems very relaxed about the whole thing - and doesn't seem to be at risk of falling out! - so double hurrah for that as well!!

MM - would love to take the kids to the zoo together, that would be lovely! How old is your dd1?

I'm going to be in Glasgow from tomorrow afternoon until late late late Thursday night - MM would you be up for booking Mem&Laz once you have final numbers...I think I might struggle to get onto MN, let alone remember to make the reservation on time ! Triple hurrah for you being able to make it, maybe...!!!

MrsMc - meeting up on 27th would be lovely, but it will only work if I'm not running from office to airport - not sure at the moment if I'm staying 26th-27th or 26th-28th - can I let you know? If we did meet up, 5.30/6 would be the earliest I could do - would that be ok for you? I'm near-ish to city centre, about 10 mins away...

Love to everyone,
xxxx

mixedmama · 12/11/2007 10:21

Fluffy - I will book Mem and Laz. DS1 is 21 months. I think he will quite like the zoo now as he is old enough to notice the animals.... I took him at 3 months last time

Amani · 12/11/2007 10:33

Morning ladies!

Crap sleep last night - awake from 12:30 - 3:30 .....want to be crawling into my bed now, but got 60 sodding emails to get through - thinking of hiding under my desk so no-one notices I am back and won't harrass me for things.

Feeling quite low today, don't know why must be hormones (or mince pie withdrawal symptons).

Had a nice weekend at friend's house warming party - was nice to be centre of attention and everyone wanting to know about pregnancy etc.

Can I just say madmouse am at you cycling. I can't even do it proper when I am not pregnant.

Sabinar - all the best with your mw appointment

Gingme - good to hear DS3 is better

Angechia - lol at random bouncing around

Please don't talk about food - keeps making me want what we discuss.......

Can you tell I don't want to reply to all those emails.....keep going on MN and putting it off....

Lulubump · 12/11/2007 10:34

Morning all.
Bettymama - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Hope you have a really wonderful day today.

I have finally resurfaced after my birthday on Friday. Had a lovely time, DH kidnapped me for the day and said we were going on an adventure, so we went driving in the Peak district (lovely sunny day, with all the autumn colours), and had lunch at a tiny rustic old pub...by which time I was totally exhausted and wanted to head home (I slept in the car all the way home...poor DH!). We then had a very 'nesting' kind of weekend together, pottering around the house and having long, long lie-ins. bliss. Am also looking forward to using the beauty treatment vouchers which were my present from DH - deciding what shall I have - massage? pedicure? facial? decisions, decisions!!

A bit shell shocked by being back at work now. Oh well, only 16 more working days to mat leave, Yay!!

Hope you're all well, caught up on reading the thread, but waiting for MrsMcJnr to do one of her marathon posts to everyone, and then I'll just say 'ditto'!

Thanks for all the advice on cocodamol, can't remember if I already posted about my chat with my pharmacist friend, and she said that she wouldn't recommend it, and wouldn't risk it if she was pregnant...so its very much a last resport. BUT, on the plus side...my back pain is GONE!

You guys were right about my birth ball, it just needed more air . All the bouncing around on it must have sorted out my back.

OOOh, have some updates about my 'strange' SIL (remember, the dramatic one who's pregnant)...but that will have to wait till lunchtime - off to a meeting now!

Amani · 12/11/2007 10:37

Sorry Bettymama - must have missed it:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

lol at Lulu - keeping us in suspence now...
