Madmouse - take it easy with the bp.

Lol at Mrs Biscuits dream

Neuro - been watching re-runs of Desperate Housewives on E4!

MM - I remember when I went to Turkey, whenever we went into a shop we were always offered Apple Tea! yum

Talking about big fat ugly maternity towels, I read on the back of one packet to buy 3 packs prior to birth which should last just over a week.

Dh went to docs today and has been signed off till 22nd November as hes got an infection. Got anti septic cream and has to dip it in warm salt water 3 times a day.
Off to the library soon with ds3. He loves to read. We have had to change libraries as hes read all the books for his age at the one we joined originaly

beller · 08/11/2007 13:48

Neuro · 08/11/2007 14:39

Beller i'll be staying til about 4th Dec. And then down to Brighton for a few days for some more lounging at friends! Maroon 5 are playing on the 5th so i might see if i can buy a ticket outside the gig as all sold out now. Might get a good price for a poor pregnant lady!!!

madmouse · 08/11/2007 15:03

yawn , someone say something funny to keep me awake. Soooo sleepy. I am nearly finished preparing everything for my locum who is starting on Monday so there is not enough pressure to keep me awake!

beller · 08/11/2007 15:13

oooooooh I love Marron 5...where are they playing? Brighton? Let me know when you have a space in your visiting diary! xx

Im the same Madmouse..although im leaving for home soon x

madmouse · 08/11/2007 15:35

Beller that is not that is , I still have nearly two hours to go!

Naetha · 08/11/2007 16:01

I'm looking forwards to seeing Machine Head and Trivium in 2 weeks time (will be 35 weeks!) although I think they may be a bit heavy for most of you here!

A bit disappointed that Linkin Park are touring in January as well and I'm going to miss them

fluffymummy · 08/11/2007 16:18

Heh...Naetha, make the most of it whilst it lasts...the last big live gig I got to was the final Orbital gig at Brixton Academy - and that was well over 2 years ago now!! These days I'm doing well if I see friends play in a 100/200 capacity venue somewhere in North London!!!

LuckySalem · 08/11/2007 16:25

I'm sooo pissed off, sorry but I need to rant.

Just been to jobcentre and I don't qualify for SMP cos I'm not working!! WTF! I've got to have maternity allowance which might aswel not exist!!

Can you get pre natal depression cos I sure as hell feel like I've got it. I can't stop crying!

Naetha · 08/11/2007 16:38

Definitely need to speak to CAB/solicitor asap Jenswish/Lucky Salem. Seems to me like you have good grounds for winning your case, as well as getting some kind of compensation for emotional stress due to being unfairly dismissed while heavily pregnant, and the financial worries that have arisen from that.

mixedmama · 08/11/2007 16:49

But you have been working for the past however long so you should still be entitled shouldnt you???? So for you. Take them to the bloody cleaners... they (your company) have surpassed themselves.

MrsBiscuit · 08/11/2007 17:15

I thought that if you had been employed for at least 26 weeks and up to the 15th week before your EDD you qualified for SMP, no matter what happens after. see here

MrsBiscuit · 08/11/2007 17:19

And here under the section called Service conditions.

What you've been told seems all wrong. And even if it's not, I agree with everyone else - sue their asses.

Naetha · 08/11/2007 20:11

Btw quick question - anyone started to feel really strong pressure in their pelvis? I wouldn't say it feels like the baby has "dropped", but more like he's pushing against the wings of my pelvis - is this what it feels like when they drop? I wouldn't say I need the loo any more than usual!

Angechica · 08/11/2007 20:29

hi all,

Had first ante natal class today and it was v disappointing. The physio was sick so we just had an hour of a midwife ranting (not the one attached to my GP so I don't know her), lovely lady but she just talked at us for an hour. The class seemed OK, I was worried it would be just teenage girls, there were 2 of them, with their mams, and only 2 people had taken menfolk, and it was pointless them being there, the rest were just women going on their own like me. I didn't learn anything I haven't already read in books, then everyone buggered off. I was hoping to meet other mums, the only people we know in our town/village are other dog-walkers....

Anyway the one useful thing was bouncing in the gym ball thingys so I am going to get one from Argos tomorrow. Apparently Naetha they are good for pelvic area. Some people at the class were going to the antenatal Back clinic as well, and they were telling us some of the women there were in a really bad way, SPD etc, on crutches! So made me realise how lucky I am to be getting away with no back pain etc.

Went to the Metrocentre to buy a birthday present this week and forgot my purse so had to go back the next night and the bloomin' Christmas lights were being switched on (by Evil Richard Hillman) so it was like hell on earth.

I did discover Pumpkin Patch though, having never crossed its threshold before!

Another exciting discovery is the Tommee Tippee factory, it's all made just down the road from me and they have a factory shop where things cost just pennies apparently, will go when on mat leave and check it out.

difficult to catch up at work, takes so long to load up Mumsnet pages that my quota time gets used up by the time I get to here. But I hope everyone is doing OK.

beller · 09/11/2007 08:25

Morning all!

Luckysalem - I really hope you get some answers! I dont know what happens...my HR people here are pretty nice..if you like i could ask a few questions?

Angechica - That sounds pretty pants....I had my first class on wed, and it was fab (sorry you probably dont want to hear that!), Hope they get better, will you be having the same woman all the time?

Naetha - I have noticed slightly more pressure..but like you..wouldnt say i think babybel has dropped...I suppose it can happen anytime, but ante natal teacher on wed told us usualy from about 36 weeks?

How is everyone today? Im feeling ok...still got the ever present bum in my ribs, but im sort of getting used to it now!
After today I have 12 more working days to go.....not that im counting
I have some more reflexology booked for tomorrow too, cant wait. Another thing the ante natal teacher said on wed was......research has shown that women who had regular massages for the 6-7 weeks leading up to birth, were shown to need less pain relief, as it releases natural endorphins! So those of you with partners/hubbies..."We really want to see those fingers"...or book in for a massage? Im going to give it a crack..got to be worth it?!
Hi to everyone xxxxxxxx

gingeme · 09/11/2007 08:57

Morning ladies. Had a terrible night sleep or non sleep. Baby was realy quiet too. Usualy as soon as I lay down in bed he starts his own little football match but seemed realy quiet. I think that was playing on my mind so I kept waking up so see if I could feel him move.
beller massage sounds good but I dont know any places near me that does it. Cant afford it anyway. Wouldnt let dh do it hes not the gentlest of men or he can be too gentle and just ends up tickling me
Taking my boys to playgroup soon. Think ds3 needs to see some different children apart from his little brother to play with. Getting a bit naughty as far as sharing toys is concerned.
Oh well have a good day all. Atleast the sun is shining

beller · 09/11/2007 09:10

gingeme - Dont suppose there is much chance of you getting a snooze this afternoon either? Have you felt Lo move this mng? x

Amani · 09/11/2007 09:40

Morning all
Back onto my daily dose of trashy tv and watching Jeremy Kyle! Didn't sleep well last night at all, due to the strong winds and needing the loo all the time - need a nap already.

Gingeme - hope you get some time out to have a nap. I had the opposite last night, where the baby's movements felt awkward, which contributed to me staying awake.

Luckysalam - defo check out the advise given about maternity pay, I'm pretty sure you are entittled to it.

Beller - massage sounds lovely - think I will try and persuade DH to give me one everynight

Morning all....

Rubbish nights sleep, but very little to do with baby. More to do with the fact that Dh and I had "words" about our financial situation and it seems like we have to move back to our old flat, where my BIL also lives and he was part of the reason we moved. Was so upset, that I couldnt sleep and ended up watching Mother India of all films.... which must be the most depressing film of all time, not the best when you are already down. DS is at ILs today so going to go home later and have a nice bubble bath - not that it will make it all go away, but still.

The plus side is that DH has agreed that I can be SAHM if we move and my biggest non-neg point of moving back is that I will not bend on my one day a week ILs rule.
