katyt1 · 07/11/2007 11:23

nicky6 · 07/11/2007 11:38

Morning all

Sorry not been on for a while but my murder starts on monday and really very full on - we also now think that the case may not finish til mid january - shit shit shit, dont really want to be trudging round the old bailey at 8.5+ months well sometimes these things have a way of working out so will see how we go.

Went to midwife all fine although baby now lying staright across my middle transverse - great so am in lots of pain as the old scar tissue problem is now getting even more of a stretch.

Keeping very busy off to theatre tomorrow to see swimming with sharks and then next week macbeth.

Great news T and T really pleased.

meet up i really wont know whether i can do it til nearer the time can i gate crash if i can make it??

ANtenatal tonight - DH says not coming because arsenal champions league game and frankly cant be bothered to argue.

Really busy weekend got a corparate day all day on saturdya and a wedding reception on saturday night down in kent, work sunday.

luckily apart from pain in guts and bit of nausea/sick not suffering with the whole tiredness thing which is great news given the circumstances.

Anyway hope you are all well and will try to come back again soon.

Bettymamma · 07/11/2007 11:53

Katy1 - let me know how the bed from cot thing goes. We're doing this next week (if mothercare EVER deliver the bed I ordered my LO at the end of September - they are RUBBISH). I wish you luck. Shut the bedroom door firmly!

Susiemj - Batty was my halloween name! I am now safely back to being Betty

MrsMcJ popped in she's ok!

Amani - lock the hoover away.

NIcky6 - good luck with the murder trial. Is it a famous one? I will keep my eye out in the paper for any pictures of barristers waddiling around the old bailey.

Mixedmama - my dh always waking up dd - grrr

Just been told by HR lady that they've decided to move me out of my desk next week and move me to the other side of the office. Just what a 33 week pregnant lady wants to do with just 2 weeks left at work. HOw thoughtful and convenient!

Bettymamma · 07/11/2007 12:01

Amani - you've probably left already. Strangely enough just had a chat with a professor in leukocyte biology?? It sounds like lucozade so I wondered if this is what the mw said to you. Its something to do with white blood cells so I'm guessing you might have an infection somewhere.

How bizarre though - i did think of you!

Lulubump · 07/11/2007 12:08

Morning everyone. Had an awful night last night. Really painful backache on one side - felt like my muscles were all seizing up and being wound up tighter and tighter, until I actually couldn't breathe and thought I was going to throw up . Got to the point where I thought labour's got to be better than this, at least there's a break in between contractions.

Eventually, had to get up at around 3am and take some paracetamol and put hot compress on my back, took some gaviscon too, and curled up on my birthing ball. Managed to doze there for about an hour, and felt much better afterwards.

Saw GP this morning, and discussed it, and he gave me some cocodamol tablets - I asked if he was sure they're ok, he insisted they are. Had a look online and they are NOT recommended in the last trimester (he's given me 100 tablets, with a max of 8 tabs per day!!). He said its probably muscular, but might be urine infection, so should come back if feel burning when weeing.

Now the dilemma - I am in pain. Should I trust in him and take tabs anyway?? Anyone else taken cocodamol?

Excuse my whining, being such a wimp I know!! But I'm at work and need some sympathy

madmouse · 07/11/2007 12:11

nicky6 your post makes me tired just reading it. Rather you than me, I have not seen the inside of a court for a while. At least in your court you have gowns to cover up. No such joy in the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal. Interesting implications if you pop before the trial finishes. Is there a plan B?

Bettymama I am moving too on Friday for three weeks. But that was my decision to allow my replacement access to all my case files and management files so he can make a start on the job, so I am travelling light. I hope you made clear to them that you will not lift a finger? I found it really weird to ask a male admin assistant to carry my boxes of stuff to storage for me, but lifting is just a nono.

madmouse · 07/11/2007 12:16

Lulubump sorry you are in such discomfort . Have you asked the pharmacist for advice? They are very clued up on these things. Maybe the cocodamol does less damage than the pain and sleep deprivation? To be honest only paracetamol is said to be more or less safe in pregnancy. Manufacturers always hedge themselves in.

Lulubump · 07/11/2007 12:41

Madmouse, I was so sleep deprived, I forgot to ask the pharmacist ! Think I'll just stick with the paracetamol to be on the safe side, and only take the cocodamol if desperate!

Jenswish · 07/11/2007 13:03

Well I had my meeting today and I've been fired!! So tomorrow (cos I can't be arsed today) i'm off to jobcentre to get either SSP or SMP depending on what they allow us to get. Also going to citizens advice to start all the crap.

I'm not stressing though. Refuse to stress. We'll get by somehow.

Lulubump · 07/11/2007 13:12

jenswish!
Glad that you're keeping focussed on not stressing yourself out, though. Big hugs

Amani · 07/11/2007 13:19

Wahhhaaay - am at home now watching re-runs of 'Desperate Housewives' and scoffing McDonalds (something that I haven't had for a while!)

Battymama - sounds like what the mw said, but resisting looking it up as I will probably read the worse case scenario and stress myself silly. Just going to wait for resulrs to come through..

Lulubump - I've been precribed Amoxcyciline (sp?) for my urine infection which I have been assured is safe for pregnant women. Not sure about cocodomal though..

Amani · 07/11/2007 13:20

Oh my gosh Jenwish - can they just do that? Have you got any trade union backing or something to support you?

Don't stress yourself out hun...

OP posts:
madmouse · 07/11/2007 13:26

Oh Jenswish that is a right old beep beep beep . Sounds like you are doing all the right things. Keep sane!

Bettymamma · 07/11/2007 13:30

Jenswish - no stressing, let it wash over you, breath in love exhale hate. Get down the citizens advice bureau and find out about sueing their asses off as soon as you can. I mean it - its unfair dismissal. Its rubbish.

lulubump - so sorry to hear about your painful back as well. Does massage, bouncing on ball, warm bath, hot water bottle, help at all? I have just emailed another one of my crazy professors at work about cocodamol to see what they say.

Madmouse - office moves. Well I'd understand if it was for my replacement but they are sticking her somewhere temporarily as well! I have computer man moving all of my stuff. It is quite nice having a man wait on you don't you think!

Amani - amoxycillin is harmless. Had to take it when BF when had mastitis. Not harmful to the baby at all. You'll prob find your antibiotics will clear any infection you have up and there'll be no worries. Enjoy desperate housewives. Terri Hatcher is TOO thin!

LilyLoo · 07/11/2007 13:31

hi all
Just wanted to send my support Jenswish. Good on you for not letting it stress you out. Not what you bloody need though, can't believe they would sack a pg woman
Lulubump poor you hope that sorts itself out and you feel better soon.
Hi everyone else

madmouse · 07/11/2007 13:35

Amani, leukocytes are white bloodcells that your body makes to fight infections. So if that is what the mw saw it only confirms what you already knew, that you have an infection. You will be fine!(Says the biggest stress bunny on the block, who only yesterday managed to raise her bloodpressure by panicking about the pre-eclampsia she does not have and the possibility of a prem baby ).

MamaMaiasaura · 07/11/2007 13:44

Amani - hope the antibiotics start doing their job. Definately take it easy and lots of rest. Bettymamma is right about it likely to be leukocytes they meant.

Susie - glad you got cotbed sorted Dh sounds lovely.

Lulubump - poor you with backache Have you tried TENS machine? I am not sure about co-codomal either.

Jenswish - and How dare those bastards do that? Hope you have kept a diary of how they have behaved. It seems they have tried to get you to leave (construtcive dismissel) and now that didnt work they have fired you. Absolutely shocking. Really hope it gets all sorted for you xxx ((hugs))

Amani · 07/11/2007 13:45

madmouse - thanks for the info, you're a woroier - just like me. I keep having these weird dreams that I am going to have contractions/waters break/baby at work, which I scare myself silly thinking what if it comes true.

No sign of beller today?
