OMG and happy birthday GIngeme.

Battymamma · 06/11/2007 10:35

Hi mixedmama

Was wondering how you were. GPs are so silly. 4 days with a temperature. Yeh right - like you'd just leave that. How is he sleeping? My dd was up - 12.30, 2.30, 4.30 and then 6.30. Not sure how we can do this with a newborn. So sad to see them ill.

Oh -with regards to meet up I was 19th November too.xx

Jenswish · 06/11/2007 10:36

MM - Docs are really having a good few days at the mo eh? Stoopid people.

I don't know whats happened at work yet. They were meant to tell me on Thurs but I got myself wound up (really annoyed and frightened) and ended up in hospital with stomach pains. They wouldn't tell me that day cos it would cause more stress. [rolls eyes] Going tomorrow to find out my fate.

Lulubump · 06/11/2007 10:37

Amani - enjoy your choccie break, sounds like its well deserved. Lol at Jenswish saying maybe your temp is pregnant and hormonal

Beller, my hypnosis book has various exercises for the birth ball - mainly based on sitting on it and rocking from side to side, and leaning arms on it to stretch out back and pelvis. These seem mainly related to labour and pregnancy, could definitely do with some guidance for exercises afterwards though, so will happily accept photocopies when you get your instructions!!

Cannot believe how much weight I've put on now! Seems quite scary, but I keep telling myself I still look like me from behind (like I really see that side of me!). Walking is starting to become more of an effort for sure.

beller · 06/11/2007 10:41

Mixedmamma - good to have you back! Sorry Ds isnt well, hope he is feeling better soon!

Jenwish - I have bought a cotbed, but part of a set..and yes they are not cheap..luckily my dad bought me mine bless him xx

mixedmama · 06/11/2007 10:42

Batty and Ginge - seems like My DS has the same virus. The plus side (if there can be one) is that he slept with me which was better than DH snoring... well when he slept all night last night it was anyway.

mixedmama · 06/11/2007 10:45

Jenwish - i bought DS's cotbed from Babysrus... we got it with a dresser for about £120 in a special deal. Worth checking them out in store as they have specials all the time.

Re meet up then looks like 19 November has it/..... any chance that the 29 November peeps can make the 19th?????

Altho i see no reason why there cant be two meet ups....

mixedmama · 06/11/2007 10:49

battymama - on Sunday night he slept with me and altho he did sleep he was sort of crying in his sleep and coughing and poor thing couldnt get comfy and therefore i was awake all night. Yesterday he dozed off all day really but for no more than about 15 mins at a time.... had the Vicks out. Just after I called in work to say I would be in today he got a little fever and crying (well wheezing as he couldnt actually cry properly) and then vomitted. I was nearly crying myself... horrible to see him like that. He slept really well last night tho, so seems much better but still with a cough.

MamaMaiasaura · 06/11/2007 10:53

Jenswish I bought cotbed as part of a set (included wardrobe & dresser with change thing on top) was £299 so figured it as £100 per peice of furniture. Also included mattress although tbh I will probably get a nice sprung mattress when baby is a bit older.

Got it from Argos and it didnt take long to arrive, all solid wood from Denmark. Is all up now and look lovely (also smells nice too) here is the link to it.

Battymamma - No bad side effects really, just lots of those niggly things, swollen ankles (by evening feel like cankles!), swollen hands, sweaty betty, pain in privates (like been kicked hard), breathlessness etc etc etc But all well worth it

Still very of meet up. I know if i really pushed myself could probably make it to london but train fair is very expensive, dp away to japan in about 10 days again for a fortnight. Having to sort childcare for ds. Scarey going to London when unfamiliar and heavily preg. Will be there is spirit tho

Just had a lovely bath, am being so lazy atm, meant to be having house valued and so un motivated with housework. I think i am a slob! lol

beller · 06/11/2007 11:23

where do you live Awen? Hmmmmmmmmm bath....

MamaMaiasaura · 06/11/2007 11:29

Southampton. Was lovely bath. Am at like a lazy moo on lounge floor with laptop wrapped up in towels am sooooo lazy

Lulubump · 06/11/2007 11:43

So jealous of your bath Awen - we only have a shower in our new house, and although its very nice, I miss having a good wallow around in bubbles!

Jenswish - I bought an Ikea cot for £59. Looks great assembled, one side is removable, and the base is adjustable (not quite sure if this makes it a cot-bed)

Had a bit of a panic after I saw that lady in hospital go into labout at 34 weeks, so have now packed my hosp bag (apart from a couple of small things). Plan to get DH to unpack and repack it so he knows where everything is, and I don't have to be saying 'no look in the other pocket' when I'm in labout

Yay, 19 working days to go to mat leave. Can't believe how much I'm looking forward to it.

Lulubump · 06/11/2007 11:44

'labout' - what am I typing???? obviously meant 'labouR'

ayrshirelolo · 06/11/2007 11:55

Morning ladies!
Brilliant news from T&T - i couldn't get on yesterday at all as too busy at work and too tired last night to kick dh off the pc! Happy birthday gingeme!
Sorry to all having to deal with ill little people, you feel SO helpless, don't you? Hugs to all!
Jenswish, sounds like you're having a crap time with GP, work etc... hang on in there, it's them, not you! Also wanted to say that i read your AIBU thread, dd was born at 7.45 in the morning and dh could have stayed with me all day - i thought i'd want him too, but to be honest i sent him home at 9am for a kip as he was SO exhausted and i wanted him back in decent nick before my mum arrived at 2pm visiting! The other thing was i had a full epidural, but the baby cot was on wheels and they moved it right next to my bed, so i could lean over and pick her up without having to call for help... hope that helps a bit, but i was still out the following day (even with forceps, epidural, episiotomy etc)and it is fab to get home to your own bed and shower! Hope to make it home the same day this time if poss... Oh yeah, we have one cot bed, about to buy another have seen them in Argos, Mothercare and Babies R us for £100, with about another £60 or so for a good sprung matress - better value in the long run than a cot i think!
Awen, also read about the soft toy dilemma in your other thread, i think you sound like a lovely mum and your ds sounds like an amazing wee boy, i'd have been tempted to buy him the whole shop! Hope you are feeling better soon,
Anyway, folk at work beginning to wonder what i'm typing so furiously so i'd better go and mutter something about working!lots of hugs to you all
lolo xx

madmouse · 06/11/2007 12:40

Hi all

Happy bunny today
Just back from the midwife and she said I could not have less protein in my urine if I tried. I was sooo nervous that I asked her to leave my blood pressure till last and it was a bit higher than last time but that was only to be expected . Babbit has grown well and moved away from the sonic aid again, making mw laugh. She says I am right, I have a bum in my right rib!

Beller, mine loves train journeys, 3 hours of playtime a day sometimes going so mad that I end up shushing him. Does he listen?

Lulubump that size ball should be just right. More air! They take forever to pump up hard enough.

Hello to everyone else. It has been busy here!

fluffymummy · 06/11/2007 13:01

Fastest drop in ever......

Happy birthday Gingeme!!

Welcome back, MM, we missed you...hurrah for meeting on 19th...altho Glasgow/Livingston trip on 29th has just been put on hold so I might be able to do both in the end, but I'll believe it when I see it!

DH and DS both still under the weather but less awful....god, the guilt at dumping ds with random family members this week and legging it out of the door to get to the office is huge!!!

Had GP checkup this morning, all good, blood pressure & urine fine, so no medical reasons for oedema. Guess that's a relief, even tho flipping uncomfortable by the evenings!!!

Right, off to meeting...

madmouse · 06/11/2007 13:06

Oh Gingeme nearly forgot your birthday . Have a nice day!!

Battymamma · 06/11/2007 14:14

Ohh dear - its the 2pm sleep time. I am so knackered! How's everyone else doing after lunch?

fluffymummy - I'm always doing these hectic dropins! Good to hear gp appointment went ok and you too madmouse.

lulubump - I like the term labout. It sounds like layabout. Wouldn't that be fun if that was what labour was like! I saw Mylene Klass went into labour at 34 wks pregnant so I was beginning to think i seriously need to pack my bag at some point. I bought maternity pads the other day. Where's that list mixedmama compiled??

Awen - sorry to hear dp off to japan again. Try not to dread it too much! My dh off to helsinki next week BUT only for a couple of days. Are you planning on moving (sorry if you've said before) - just saw about the house being valued. Sweatybetty - love it! We've all go that i reckon. (spare pair of pants in the handbag!)

Mixedmama - dd is also only sleeping in my bed as well. What can we do? They are only little for a short time and one day they won't want us near them! This bloomin virus though. Grrr. Must admit, I'm feeling abit grotty today. Hope he's better tonight. Ohh the guilt of leaving them. Let's win the lottery...

tripletsandtwins · 06/11/2007 14:15

Happy birthday Gingerme

mixedmama · 06/11/2007 14:29

Yeah I have rang my dad about 4 times today already... so awful leaving him. Work are being a little peed off with me, nobody has even mentioned it. I have been having quite a bit of time off tho, like the gastric reflux episode last week so had a day off, two weeks before that was off for a week..... well at least I only have to get through till 30 November .... woo hoo

Battymamma · 06/11/2007 14:42

I've been the same mixedmama - a couple of days off here and there - mainly because of dd but I've taken a couple off because of me too when I had a nasty tummy upset. Basically work hates women with young children. I thought this was a myth but its true. Very demotivating.

I have also phoned my mum 3 times . She's feeling ill as well unfortunately .

MamaMaiasaura · 06/11/2007 14:43

Battymamma - is he likely to have to go anywhere else other than Helsinki before due date? They are already trying to book up DP for afterwards! We are hoping to move, but i am very lax about sorting out getting it on market.. my brain is firmly on ds1 and baby.

Just got back from midwife, another different one Bump measuring spot on dates, wee is all ok, BP good, baby still head down but has shifted so his back is down the rhs and bottom exactly where i remember ds1's being She has said i need to lie on my LHS to encourange baby to be on that side for easier birth. Still no 28 day blood results think i will prob need iron as soooo tired but no idea until i get the results. Is really p'ing me off that they cant get their act together. Mw noticed i was pissed off and she cheekily said, mind the blood pressure. Also had a student there, and she had a go at feeling baby and she wasnt exactly gentle, poor baby.

Mixedmamma - i really hate it when work is like that, am actually very glad out of all of that for now. It just adds to the pressure.

Fluffy - glad drs went all ok for you

MamaMaiasaura · 06/11/2007 14:44

Really feeling for poorly children on here. Hope they get better soon. xxxx

Bettymamma · 06/11/2007 15:00

Hi Awen - Got my old name and profile back yippee! Will start planning the xmas name soon. Don't think dh is going anywhere after Helsinki though they are very good at dropping these things on him at the last minute. How about you? Yes they are booking him up after as well.

Sounds like mw appointment was ok (well better without ex's dp!). I need to lie on LHS as well - but dh faces that way and he snores! Very annoying.

mixedmama · 06/11/2007 15:08

I think LO is on LHS for me atm as i have pain in my ribs there which I assume must be feet, but who knows.

I do understand that from an operational perspective I am not very good for business with my various complaints at being pregnant and DS aswell. Just 18 working days left till Mat leave woo hoo.

Can you believe I sent off my Maternity Allowance forms and forgot to put my MATB1 form in. Arrgghh
