Hey ladies,

CONGRATS Tripletsandtwins. I'm so happy all is ok with the little 'uns. Made my day.

Been to the docs and got my sick note (2 weeks) he was abit mean though. I explained the hospital had suggested I had time off due to stress affecting the pregnancy and me to which he replied, "That's all in your head but if the hospital says you're to be signed off I'll do it" hmmm thanks mate!

gingeme · 05/11/2007 20:15

Yay tripletsandtwins
fluffymummy hope all your family are on the mend real soon.
Oh mrsbiscuit bummer about dh missing the class.
I watch Doc Martin tonight. Last one this week.
ds 3 has an awful tickly cough. Gonna take him to the docs tommorrow because he has terribly flat feet so Ill see if they can give him some medicine too. My ds2 has flat feet and has to wear in sole things and do excersises. Want to catch ds3 quickly because we were told it can affect his knees and hips and lower back in his teenage years.
Anyway Ive seen a couple of wrapped gifts knocking about so looking forward to tommorrow
Night night ladies xxxx

Beller - I have MW appointment too today. Hope yours goes well and that the dentist is kind

Lulubump · 06/11/2007 09:36

Morning everyone. Congrats TandT, that's fantastic news ! What a relief.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY gingeme! Hope your day is just fantabulous xxx
Jenswish - re: unhelpful comments from the GP, what a silly thing to say. Ignore him, the idiot! Stress during pregnancy is so clearly something to avoid, and does actually affect your lo. duh
Beller, enjoy your lunch out of the office, and pay your colleagues back by having a very loooong one (still can't get over the time they left you there alone for hours and you couldn't even go to the loo!!)
Morning Amani, Susiemj, Lilyloo and Awen.

In case anyone's wondering why I'm so hyper this morning, the combination of sugary flapjack and coffee for breakfast at my desk has given me a real kick start . And lulu seems to be practicing the can-can now!

Bought an exercise ball yesterday, as they're meant to be really good for stretching out achy hips and back, but it seems rather small. Its 65cm, and when I sit on it, feels like my bum is definitely lower than my kness (which supposedly defeats the purpose). Am going to have to deflate it after all the effort pumping it up, and exchange it. Quite irritated - I'm only 5ft5, so surely a standard size ball should be appropriate!

gingeme · 06/11/2007 09:52

Morning ladies and thankyou for my birthday wishes. I got some Thorntons chocs and some lovely gold earrings from my little boys and a key ring with my name on. From my big boys I got a lovely Scorpio mug. My neighbour bought me a mug too with a Me To You teddy. My Dad is popping in lunch time to give me my presant.
Had an early start today though as ds3 woke up with a high temp and his cough is horrible. No nursery for him today
Not sure what were doing today. Not alot if ds is still poorly which suits me fine realy.
Hope all you ladies have a good day. xx

beller · 06/11/2007 09:54

Awen - my appts are tom..but good luck for today xx

Lulubump - babybel tends to do that ont he train on the way in in the morning...my face must be a picture! I have ordered a birthing ball..and mine is 65 cm these are the sizes they recommend www.natalhypnotherapy.co.uk/acatalog/Birthing_Balls.html so should be ok?

MamaMaiasaura · 06/11/2007 09:55

pressie for you gingeme

MamaMaiasaura · 06/11/2007 09:56

sorry beller, read it wrong. I have a stupod pregnancy brain

beller · 06/11/2007 09:58

oops forgot to say im 5ft 5 as well

Jenswish · 06/11/2007 10:01

Happy birthday gingme

Amani - I was routing for Sarah to go too, she's just soo annoying. I thought the whole Jael and 50 cent thing was sooo embarassing to watch.
I think we're going to do the hospital thing and see how it goes, if I'm fine i'll see if I can get an early discharge BUT I may be absolutely exhausted so it may not be a problem. Plus DP has said he's going to stay in the day room or something so I can go visit him if i'm worried (i'm going to check he can do this with the MW at my next apt.

Lulu - I know he's a stupid doc, I found it funny. I'm going to try to see my MW for my next note (if she's allowed to give one, she'll understand more than him) Also i'm moving my mat leave up to 1st Dec (instead of 17th)

Hope your all ok, i'm off to see work now to find out if I have to sue them or not! lol

katyt1 · 06/11/2007 10:09

Happy birthday gingeme

Hope everyone (& their dhs & dcs) are feeling better today & good luck for any appts.

t&t - good news re scan

lulubump - i'm 5,4 and i'm sure i have the 55cm ball (got it from argos last time) and it's fine, maybe just more inflation required??

jenswish - duh to your doc, stoopid man!

ANTM - love it! have to sky+ it as i fall asleep too, and dh hates it. but my babysitters love it so i keep it for them!

right, work, work.....

Lulubump · 06/11/2007 10:10

Good luck with your meeting with work Jenswish!

Beller, thanks for that link - looks like I should have the right size ball, in theory. When you sit on your birthing ball, does the line made by your hips/knees/ankle form a right angle, or does your bum sink lower than your knees? Maybe I just have unusually long legs or something

Gingeme - well done on your presents, all sound lovely! Hope ds3 feels better.

Jenswish · 06/11/2007 10:12

Not going to work today now, Going tomorrow instead. Means I can stay in my pj's again!! YEY!

Amani · 06/11/2007 10:20

OK feeling a bit sh!tty as the temp that I'm training to do my job burst in tears saying 'it's hard', because I pointed out a few mistakes that she's done. Didn't say it horribly or anything, but mentioned 'oh have you remember to do X,Y,Z on the statisitical reports' when she hadn't. Told her I didn't mind as she is training etc etc, but she seems to be taking every mistake she does so personally......

ok just needed to get that off my chest....

at jenwish - wish I was curled up in bed, not dealing with things today....

Lulubump - do you have a manual with yours? I dont have mine yet, but when it comes, it comes with exercises for pregnancy..ideas for birth and exercises for after, I can photo copy it and send it to you if you like?

Jenwish - Yay!! for pj's..that what i intend tom mng...Wright stuff etc and sofa!

Aweb - my brain power diminished ages ago...along with any memory i had x

Jenswish · 06/11/2007 10:21

Amani - She's not a toughie really then? Maybe she's pregnant and emotional?

Has anyone bought a cot yet? We want a cotbed but they're SOOO expensive, any ideas?

mixedmama · 06/11/2007 10:32

Morning all,

Everyone seems
to be doing well (ish).

Fruitful - glad you managed to escape, but make sure you take it easy.

TandT - glad everything went well with your scan.

Gingeme - I have flat feet and some other complications that I cannot remember the name of and I used to have to wear heal cups in my shoes and now have inserts (which i never wear) and actually will at some point be having an operation. they did see that if the doctors had done something about this when i was little it would have been a very small operation but now I am an adult it is alot more complex, so defo get it sorted now - altho hopefully nowhere near as serious as this.

Jenwish - glad you got signed off and sorry GP was an idiot. What happened with the meetign at work in the end?

MEET UP

19 November
Mixedmama
Beller
Fluffymummy
Sabinar

29 November
Lulubump
Mixedmama
Gingeme

As it stands 19 Nov has it with one more person, altho cant remember what Battymama said. Any other takers???

Was off yesterday with DS who was really not very well and my dad wasnt well either so couldnt really leave him anywhere... annoying doc said that if he gtes a temp that I should leave it for 4 days with calpol and if it didnt improve then take him back... as if I am going to leave him with a temperature for four whole days at his age. He made me feel really silly for taking DS in at all.

Battymamma · 06/11/2007 10:32

Hiya ladies

Not been around much because dd has what gingeme's ds has. Work are being really unsympathetic. Thats the worse thing about being a working mum. You feel like you aren't giving 100% at work or 100% to your kids. Guilt guilt guilt!

Gingeme - happy birthday. Hope your ds gets well soon. My dh reckons the cough is like the virus that was unleashed in Spooks the other day.

Triplets&twins - Brilliant reassuring news.

Where is MrsMcJnr these days by the way? - I'll scan backwards in a minute but am still getting confused with the new layout.

Jenswish - am happy you were signed off even tho the doctor did make stupid comments. Do they not realise that stress can affect an unborn child!

Awen - you ok. Saw T&twins said you had bad sideaffects. Will try to catchup and see how you doing but hope you ok.

Right back to work - i'm playing catch up everywhere!

Hope everyone else is well and not getting too uncomfortable.
