hello. I'm new to this thread and to mumsnet. I'm due july 22nd, have 2 DDs, aged 5 and 3. took longer to conceive this time. feel odd, a close friend recently had an mc so trying not to get too excited. feel sl queasy which is good, I worry more when I don't feel queasy. but it's still such early days and it's taken a while to get here this time. haven't got round to ringing GP surgery yet, have told a few friends who were going through each 4 week cycle with me!

so please add me to the list!

mcchesers · 13/11/2007 22:02

Oh Meglet..I'm really sorry. Take some time and look after yourself x

Thanks everyone, I'll let you all know how I get on tomorrow afternoon.

sweetkitty · 13/11/2007 22:10

meglet - so so sorry you are leaving us, know what it feels like leaving an antenatal thread and then watching it every day on MN, it's very hard but you do bounce back, get back over to the ttc waiting room when you are ready they're a great bunch of ladies. And be reassured you will be back on another antenatal thread soon, take time and grieve and you will get through it (((((hugs))))) for you x

Peggy - you will be fine after all we are here and having number 3 so it can't have been that bad, I love the age gap my DDs have.

Minnie - I always wanted 3 as well and looking back would have probably had them closer but think I will have a nice gap, DD1 is desperate for us to have another baby, she is really into babies right now and adores my friends new one, she wants another little sister though as boys have winkies people with 3 have told me the third one just slots in to your family and it's fine.

cass - hello welcome to the thread and to mumsnet, a warning though it is VERY addictive once you are snared in you cnnot leave ever and if your PC ever breaks you will come out in cold sweats congratulations, pull up a virtual chair make yourself at home cos we are all going to be here for a while x

sfxmum · 13/11/2007 22:28

welcome cass

last pregnancy I just lurked on the antenatal thread only joining on the post natal, but I had previously mc at 12wks so understandable.
slightly calmer this time but not much more to be honest

3 kids well if I had started earlier maybe or it it is twins this time

sweetkitty · 13/11/2007 22:34

A couple of Mums at M&T's today were saying that they had left it too late to have another, they were 37 and 38 I don't think thats too old.

sfxmum · 13/11/2007 22:38

no not really I will be 39 next year means a 3rd would be in my 40's which a few friends have done, but maybe not for me. but who knows, still it took ages to conceive this time

sfxmum · 13/11/2007 22:39

btw where is everyone geographically I mean?
am in west London

pigleychez · 13/11/2007 22:42

Im in West Sussex. About 15 minutes from Gatwick airport.

libralady · 14/11/2007 08:14

I'm in Poole in Dorset.
Hope everyone is fine this sunny morning.
Have got a back clinic seminar this morning. After my recent surgery my MW pur a physio referal in straight away, especially as I had sever problems last pregnancy. Have got a questionnaire to fill in about the pain I'm in, but that's not relevant as I'm not in any (at the mo!) Feel like I could be wasting their time. I am concerned as I did spend the last three months of pregnancy on crutches last time as I had excruiating (sp?) sciatica.
Welcome to all the newbies. We're getting an ever growing list and it's only the 14th. Still over 1/2 the month to go.

good morning all

libralady that sounds painful glad the MW is taking it seriously.
last time I was very lucky was going to the gym through my first 3 months then did Pilates which kept the back pain away.

quite lovely and sunny here I hope to pop out today, have been in with dd who has been poorly since sunday and am getting a touch of cabin fever.

MINNIE1 · 14/11/2007 09:04

cass66,

sweetkitty,
Thank you for the vote of confidance, Its the positive things i love to hear.

libralady
Sciatica is so painfull, I only had a touch in my leg and i though that was the worst feeling ever. Here's hoping it won't come back this time for you XXX

In college and feeling hungry with a little sickness! All i keep thinking of is a bag of crisps!!!! Roll on 4.00pm have injections for my youngest DD at 5.

libralady · 14/11/2007 09:10

Well everything has gone tits up today. Have cancelled hospital appointment as DS is ill. He's had a cold for a few days but has been bright enough in himself. This morning he has refused to eat his breakfast and took himself back up to bed. Went to get him ready for nursery and he then started gagging and bringing up thick catarrh. He asked to go and see the Dr so I've managed to get him an appointment at 10.30. He's now sat on the sofa watching Noddy on Milkshake.
At least the hospital was understanding and they will book me in for another session at a later date.
Also I feel like I'm coming down with a cold as well. Typical, it's my day off today and I'll probably have to spend it indoors (after I've been to the Drs that is. I really need to get the garden done. Now it's getting colder I need to remove my fuschias and geraniums and plant the spring bulbs.
Sorry it's been all me me me.
Hope everyone else is OK.

Have a cup of tea and chill untill doctors app. Some deep breaths... Its fustrating but it happens. Its ok to feel all me me me your a pg women and highly dangerous with all those pg hormones. Hope your day gets better hun.

libralady · 14/11/2007 09:26

Thanks Minnie1

Knew it was only a matter of time. DH has had 'manflu' since Friday also, and I only managed to get back into bed with him last night. Have spent the last few nights on the sofa as I didn't want him breathing all his germs over me. Looks like it didn't work.

Ho hum!

Cup of tea sounds good. I've just been really naughty. Fancied a pkt of Walkers Ready Salted Crisps so had a pkt at 9:10am!!!!

Don't normally do breakfast (unless its a cup of coffee) as I'm in too much of a rush in the mornings. I'm leaving for work @ 7am and get up at 5.30 in order to get everyhting ready - luchboxes, veg preapred for tea, get DS up and dressed and fed, before I yell up to DH to get his arse out of bed as I'm walking out the door. He does drop DS off at my Mum's on his way to work though and then she takes DS to nursery.

God my spelling is terrible this morning. I blame my long nails. I must remember to cut them more often now I am pg. They grow so much quicker now.

MINNIE1 · 14/11/2007 09:50

Walkers Ready Salted Crisps emmmm would love some of them.. Its ok though i have been wanting crisps since 7am this mornig!! Don't seem to want chocolate at all (yet)

You have a 5.30 start well done women, i know what you mean when you have to shout at Dh to get up!! Mine gets up and gets himself ready while i run like blue arse fly! Not any more though gave him a firm word last week and seems to have worked! (for a while anyway)

sweetkitty · 14/11/2007 10:24

Morning all I have to admit I'm the lazy ass in our family in the morning, DP is up at out the door by about 6.30am and I'm still in bed, usually up about 7.30am which gives me enough time to get DD1 up and ready for nursery at 9am.

My boobs have went a bit mad my nips are super sensitive and they feel like they are growing, am taking ths as a good sign as last pregnancy my boobs didn't do anything so am hoping it's all that HCG floating around from a very healthy bean. Starting to go off food big time as well, doing the only eating to stop me feeling hungry thing and still feel a bit sick.

ladylush - sorry to hear about your DS both the DDs have snotty noses, think children do that will probably be them until next Spring now, it's nurseries and toddler groups they are germ factories. And don't worry about your garden your not supposed to touch soil if pregnant for the toxoplasmosis risk (says SK who cleans a cat litter tray every day ) in my defence I am very careful.

Oh in Scotland if you draw a line between Glasgow and Edinburgh I'm in a town 1/3 of the way from Glasgow, 2/3rds from Edinburgh. Not where I would chose to live but relatively cheap housing and good transport links for DPs job. I have been back in Scotland for 2 years now, used to live in rural Cambridgeshire then central London so a bit different.

sfxmum · 14/11/2007 10:32

before dd when I worked away from home I used to get up at 5.30 to Farming today those where the days.

I force myself to have breakfast everyday porridge with prunes most days or muesli have gone off coffee again.
have just stopped bf completely a mere 4wks ago so thought nip sensitivity would not be an issue, I was wrong terrible when it is cold too.

wish I could be less anxious

MINNIE1 · 14/11/2007 10:54

Just had cheese and onion crisps emmm heven! Can you have cravings this early? Did'nt with the last 2! Every morning on T break i have to have them. Was wondering why i was doing this b4 i found out i was PG.

Minkus · 14/11/2007 12:42

Hello everyone

I am with the pukers, feeling unbelievably sick all the time. Forgot what it was like, at least last time I had hyperemesis so people were sympathetic! This time everyone is like "oh for gods sake its just morning sickness GET OVER IT! You're pregnant not ill"

Also went for an early scan yesterday as have had some bleeding, have to go back again in 10 days as it was too little to see- the sac was there but the embryo hadn't grown enough to be visible yet. But nothing to worry about said the Dr (yeah right you are talking to a pregnant woman here of course there is something to worry about!)

Just feel sooo sick and sooo tired, only time I don't feel ill is if I'm eating or asleep. How on earth am I going to cope at work for the next few months feeling like this? I've got so much on I can't afford to be working at less than full whack. Stress levels are soaring think I might have to tell my boss early to get some support.

Plus my dad was rushed into hospital last night after some serious bleeding from his bottom. Poor dad, he's really scared- he's had cancer in the past, recently had his prostate removed too so is so worried.

Sorry all I've done is whinged about how awful everything is- it's not really- someone come along with some good news to cheer me up!

paulaplumpbottom · 14/11/2007 12:43

This is about the right time for crvingsactually. I wanted a tomato sandwich so bad last night that I went to Tescos at 3:30am. You know I wanted it bad if I was willing to step foot in there

Minkus · 14/11/2007 13:11

I?m with you on the crisps Minnie, although I am finding the ready salted reconstituted version more to my liking (hula hoops, disco?s, smiths square crisps etc)

Do you think that the cravings thing is more to do with the stuff we think we might actually be able to keep down? Have you been suffering with sickness at all or just craving those luvverly salty crispies?

Tee hee to the tom sarnies PPP, imagining bemused midnight shoppers being knocked flying so you can get to your beloved tomatoes! Must?have?tomatoes?

MINNIE1 · 14/11/2007 13:28

Minkus
I wonder is it, although i don't feel to sick i just keep thinking of crisps... Apples were the cravings with DD and I HAD TO HAVE ONE!! 5 a day and i remember sitting in a pub for a social and i was munching away did'nt care less just me and me apple..
Never did the 3.30am run to the shop though lol the joys of cravings
Sorry to hear your dad is having a scare.

Just tried to book in for early scan and gets bloods taken will have to wait till Fri to get app. Have a history of bleeding and MC and its totaly normal to worrie what do they expect you to do.

Minkus · 14/11/2007 13:55

Waiting for appointments etc is so frustrating, must be doubly so if you have a worrying history like yours. 12 weeks seems like so far away!

With ds I didn't really have any particular cravings, although developed a taste for grapefruit juice in the middle of my pg.

Just swallowing at the moment is evil! Let alone eating or drinking. Funny enough it?s not too bad in the morning but gets worse as the day goes on. Am going to get some crystallised ginger in a minute to see if that helps.
