Can't believe it. Just got my BFP today and by my reckoning baby should be due 1st July.
Is there anyone else out there?

Congratulations to all of you!

I got my last BFP two years ago today, and had a beautiful little girl on July 17th 2006.

Hope it all goes well for you!

SK
My DS doesn't yet know I am pg, but ealier on in the summer he started asking for a LS as other at his nursery had 2 car seats in the car and he wanted to know why. Explained that they had a baby brother or sister and he exclaimed 'I want a baby sister called Becky'. That's his girlfriends name at nursery and they are inseperable.
We'll tell him probably after Christmas as he's only 3.7 (plus no-one else in the family knws yet) although I have told him that when he sits doen on my my knee (if I'm sat crossed-legged on the floor) he must sit dwon gently and be careful of Mummy's tummy. I think he just think's it's ongoing because of my back problems. He's pretty good really.
Got my consultant's appt today re my back. Hopefully that will be the end of it and he'll discharge my case. Here's hoping.

When I went to get my BFP confirmed by a nurse My dd was with me has she had her immunizations just before. She heard the nurse say I was pregnant. She has only mentioned it twice though. I'm kinda hoping she forgets because we had told her the last time and she was devestated when I lost it.

sweetkitty · 07/11/2007 09:17

Paula - I was the same my friend told her DC that I had a baby in my tummy and DD1 heard as well so she would say Mummy has a baby in her tummy, when I lost it she would still ask about the baby so I had to tell her we couldn't keep it and had to give it back, she still talks about babies in tummies though but I would rather wait until after 12 weeks when I know everything is fine. Am also worried about DD2 she is a really physical girl and climbs all over the top of me, bounces on me etc I feel bad telling her no she can't do it now.

I still don't feel pregnant, keep thinking my boobs are tender but don't know and I don't feel any different yet, anyone else feel like this?

paulaplumpbottom · 07/11/2007 09:53

Don't worry if you don't "feel pregnant". Every pregnancy is diffrent. Count your lucky stars.

I have my first appointment with the OB today so I hope that goes well. I'm hoping for a scan just to make sure the sac is in the uterine wall.

I have been feeling very anxious as well which I want to ask about. I am prone to panic attacks but I rarely have them anymore but the last two weeks I have had a few. weird

sweetkitty · 07/11/2007 10:09

I never had any symptoms with the other 3 pregnancies either, I remember the first time doing about 2 tests a week just to see if I was still pregnant!

I suffer from anxiety as well, I think it's only natural given your history as well to be a bit worried, it's a worrying time. Hope your appointment with the OB goes well. I'm booking myself in for a scan in 3 weeks then I will see a doctor. I'm not even 5 weeks yet it's dragging in, only a week since I found out.

paulaplumpbottom · 07/11/2007 10:12

7 weeks is a good time. you should get a heartbeat and definatly a fetal pole

expatinscotland · 07/11/2007 10:13

my boobs are so sore!

and then i had a nightmare i was pregnant with twins and was wondering how the hell i was going to bf them with a 2.5 year old and barely 5-year-old at home on summer break.

expatinscotland · 07/11/2007 10:15

if you can get hold if it - i get it online -try Celestial Seasonings Tension Tamer herbal tea.

it's doing wonders for my anxiety.

my PND was characterised by a lot of anxiety.

also, invest in a yoga for meditation class or DVD. i recommend the Yoga Journal one with Rodney Yee instructing.

it's quick, easy and it really works.

also their Yoga for Stress Relief DVD.

paulaplumpbottom · 07/11/2007 10:15

Any twins in your family?

expatinscotland · 07/11/2007 10:18

yes. as are older mothers - my mother and sister excepted.

everyone else was ancient like me, particularly my dad's two sisters, who followed in their mother's footsteps.

i am trying my damndest to do pilates and yoga every day.

my abdominal muscles separated when i was pregnant with dd2, and it would not be good for that to happen again.

it really jacks up your back, the last thing i need with all that metal in my knees.

paulaplumpbottom · 07/11/2007 10:24

I have given Yoga some thought. Didn't realise it could help with anxiety. I can get the Celestial Seasonings Tea st a local shop so will look there. Its were I get my sleepytime ad Bengal Spice.

expatinscotland · 07/11/2007 10:43

you can use tension tamer during pregnancy, too.

i love it!

i wasn't a believer at first, but it does help.

and i've had to use anti-anxiety drugs in the past.

paulaplumpbottom · 07/11/2007 10:46

I do have some diazapam but I rarely take and certainly wouldn't while pregnant. My sister is on all sorts of anxiety meds and spends her days asleep on the sofa as a result. I don't want to be like that so I am always very wary of taking meds. Tea sounds like just the thing.

mcchesers · 07/11/2007 10:46

Morning ladies. SK - I'm with you on the no real symptom couch. I have the "super smell" and munchies but that's about it. Maybe a wee bit of seasickness and fatigue. stuffy nose. Boobs are fine and I can still lift me head out of bed without wanting to hurl. But it's early early days still.

Celestial Seasonings is fab. I get sleepytime and tension tamer. When I used to live in Colorado, I would drive to the factory and buy boxes of tea for $2.00. It's hard for me to find here in Scotland. There were all sorts in Amsterdam.

Oh yeah and my mother is fine, she came out of surgery last night and is recovering well.
phew!

I'm off to deliver my urine sample to my GP's. I should just take in the bucket of preg tests.

paulaplumpbottom · 07/11/2007 10:48

I'm so glad everything is ok with your Mum.

Beware the tea in Amsterda, theres relaxing and then theres relaxing

sweetkitty · 07/11/2007 10:49

oh that tension tamer sounds good, do Holland and Barratt do it.

expat - I have nightmares about twins I know there nothing you can do and it's double the blessing but I think about BFing them too with a 4yo and 2.6yo. And prams, what would you get, DD2 will be 2 1/2 and I don't think I could trust her to walk as well as pushing a double and having DD1 to look out for. Oh and cars you are into 7 seater territory then.

paula - have worked out I will be 8 weeks by then, apparently if you see a heartbeat at 8 weeks the chance of mc goes way down.

expatinscotland · 07/11/2007 10:50

i caved and delivered another urine sample to the GP as well.

the third.

if they duff this one up i'm going to be miffed.

i found tension tamer tea in some asian shop in edinburgh called Jordan Valley in nicholson street.

needless to say, i bought LOADS.

i like sleepytime, but i find tension tamer more effective for me.

i have panic attacks.

sweetkitty · 07/11/2007 10:50

good news about your Mum Mcchesers

looks likt it's the internet for the celestial tea then

paulaplumpbottom · 07/11/2007 10:53

Expat can you drink the Sleepytime while pregnant?

expatinscotland · 07/11/2007 10:55

yes, you can.

i like it with honey and lemon.

i've also got some yogi teas that are nice and non-caffeinated.

i still have a couple of cups of tea a day, but that's about it.

paulaplumpbottom · 07/11/2007 10:57

Any chance you know where to get Bigelow Teas? I am almost out of their Perfect Peach which I am mad about

expatinscotland · 07/11/2007 11:00

paulaplumpbottom · 07/11/2007 11:02
