beanster - how cute you dd dressed as a scary spider!!

re pressies for me - it is my birthday on 17th Dec, 6 days after due date - I am hoping I will get a baby boy for my birthday - what could be better than that

Amani · 31/10/2007 12:20

Anyone know where MM is today?

Beanster - yes am quite organised with lists etc and will defo not be taking on any new work the week I am due to leave (actually hoping to have my feet up a little and see if mat cover can mange it all herself )

mixedmama · 31/10/2007 12:21

Afternoon ladies,

Am off work today due to being up all night with that same gagging choking sensation I had a few weeks ago... went to docs and got prescribed Gaviscon. Just relaxing at my mum and dads.

Buzzy - great that things seem to not be quite so serious as first thought, fingers crossed the ohe problems are not to serious and easly sorted.

I get stomach aches too and most of the time convince myself it is labour....

Thoroughly fed up of work too, but on a few more weeks.

insywinsyspider · 31/10/2007 12:22

beanster - i had a massage on friday and would really recomend it, am planning on getting a hair cut and dentist app in before baby arrives too although not sure when!

amani - as skid says satnd your ground and only do what you can do, lol your situation sounds v different to mine , I'm struggling to muster any enthusium for my job, bloke taking over from me has disappeared somewhere, he logged on comp and haven't seen him since.... i'm sure I have loads to do I just haven't figured it out yet!

bambino1andbump · 31/10/2007 13:00

I'm feeling worse today! Ive got so much to do but don't have the energy to do it. I think DH is going to get bit moody if he comes home to the house the state its in. I've washed up and that has taken all my energy. Can't believe ive got to get myself dressed up tonight and go to a party. UGH!
Can't believe our babies are going to start appearing soon. It feels like a life time ago that I joined this thread but also seems to have gone quick. Very strange!

bambino1andbump · 31/10/2007 13:05

ooh forgot to mention my lovely mummy got me a mum to be spa treatment for my birthday. I've got it tomo. Its 31/2 hours of relaxation and i'm so excited. I get full body massage, tummy mask, facial, head, neck and shoulder massage and an OPI pedicure. Hope i'm not feeling so scummy tomo though!

loucee · 31/10/2007 14:19

The pampering sounds fantastic bambino1!
I've booked myself in for a cut and colour 12 days before my due date. It's a mid morning appointment so I'll get to eat a lovely lunch there as well and just relax.

MM - I was given a HUGE bottle of gaviscon for heartburn but at the moment I'm favoring Friji milkshakes

skidaddle · 31/10/2007 14:25

oh dear poor you MM and bambino - hope the gaviscon works MM - I find the stomach cramps I get during pg quite scary - I certainly don't get anything like them normally - real doubled-up in agony type cramps - suppose I might as well get used to a bit of agony with only 6 weeks to go

skidaddle · 31/10/2007 14:58

gosh nobody around today - are you all working too hard? Never mind will just talk to myself...

I'm taking dd to the theatre tomorrow. Only 2 years old and already a culture vulture! It's called egg and sppon and is for babies to age 3 and they all sit on cushions and learn about the seasons - how cute!!

Neuro · 31/10/2007 15:12

Hello all!
I am off sick and not spending much time on computer. My off sickness is now starting to be lovely. Resting my back for a few days but will start swimming on Friday i think and going to day classes that one can't if one has to go to work.
Oh my sickness has been signed off by doc which has instigated me starting Mat Leave early....I think i am starting to like it!
Will read all your posts now
Hope everyone is well
X

Amani · 31/10/2007 15:32

Skid - am here on and off. The place where you are taking your DD sounds lovely. Hope you both enjoy yourselves.

Neuro - we were worried about you on the 'Due in Jan' thread. Good to know you are resting.

Amani · 31/10/2007 15:36

Loucee and bambino - your pampering sounds great - think I might book myself a pedicure since I have to get DH to cut my toe nails now.
Will be getting my hair colour when I go on mat leave so hopefully I will look some what decent when I have my post-birth pictures.

skidaddle · 31/10/2007 15:39

hee hee amani you are optimistic to look good in your post-birth pics - I looked as close to death as I ever have in mine last time (mind you probably was as close to death as I ever have been)!!

Hi neuro - glad you're enjoying you ML - sounds lovely!

Amani · 31/10/2007 15:46

Actually skid I kind of cheated with my post-birth pics. As I was a bit of a mess I had a quick wash and make up before sitting in front of the camera

Neuro · 31/10/2007 16:00

Thanks Amani!
I'm starting to feel good. Anemia seems easier to cope with funnily enough by not going to work!
Beller are you due on 29th Dec? If so that is same day as me!

Neuro · 31/10/2007 16:05

Regarding looking good post birth - well call me vain, but i shall be taking a make up bag, my good hairdryer AND hair straighterners!

loucee · 31/10/2007 16:06

Anyone else find that hair colour doesn't take as well during pregnancy? My hair needs a trim (seems to grow like crazy at the moment) but decided to put it off til 12 days before due date as that way it should last me further into the newborn stage! Also felt it was one of the last opportunities for some quality "me" time before birth, post birth then having a newborn and a 22mth old! Maybe it'll be different this time round but it seemed like ages before I would leave DD for anything longer than an hour as I was bfing her and it all seemed like hard work!

skidaddle · 31/10/2007 16:15

I never colour my hair as it is jet black and would take no colour - nor do I ever wear make-up or dry/straighten my hair (mmm making myself sound really attractive, I know) - but upside is I shouldn't look too much worse than usual post-birth as long as I don't haemorrage or anything this time...

Neuro · 31/10/2007 16:20

i have crazy hair that requires electronic assistance! and no matter how much sleep i get i always have suitcases under my eyes... so i envy you Skidaddle!

skidaddle · 31/10/2007 16:24

neuro - I wouldn't say for a second that I don't NEED to use all those things - it's just that i don't - if you could see the state of me I'm sure you would do anything but envy me!!

mimicakey · 31/10/2007 16:29

Hey ladies. I have been using a nice fake tan on my face this year (partly due to lack of sunshine this summer but mostly to get that pregnancy glow !) If I go a few days without I start to look awful!

Ooh, and on the subject of pampering, me and DH are going here www.lespa.com/ for a couple of days

I have to confess I haven't been reading back too far since the CHANGE because I seem to get lost on different pages. Probably user error and everyone else is getting on fine. So anyway, hope everyone is ok.

One more thing! Didn't we have someone who was expecting twins? Who was that?

Neuro · 31/10/2007 16:35

fake tan (not to look orange, just to not look deathly pale!), hair straighterners, concealer and Bourjois pink blusher are my friends!

skidaddle · 31/10/2007 16:41

mimicakey - I can't remember anyone expecting twins. I actually remember thinking what a shame it was that we had no twins because that would be really exciting!

le spa looks very swanky

cazzybabs · 31/10/2007 16:41

Me - I started the 1st thread....I remember doing a test because I was going to a wedding. I was so desperate to be pregnant, but it was 1st cycle after my mc and then I was so scared for the 1st 12 weeks. I hated going to the loo incase there was blood! But so far so good....

Buzzybee - I am so glad that the test was negative (although I might get in trouble from some quarters for saying that)! fingers crossed the bowel and heart issue turn out to be nothing or minor!

I am knacked today and my replacement is annoying me. I don't want to go off on maternity leave = I love my class. I just don't want to hand them over!

Am feeling a bad mother tyda - dd1 is off to a halloween birthday party - I don't do Halloween. I hate it so didn't let her dress up, but I think everyone else is! Oh god - I hoep she has a great time! I feel better becayse the very Chrsitian family we are friends with are letting their daughter go to!

mimicakey · 31/10/2007 16:43

Ooh, I am addicted to Benefit things - benetint and Dandelion especially. Put them on and look blushingly beyootiful! Pretty much every time I see my dad he says GOD you're pale! So I need all the help I can get.
