Anyone else out there?! Very excited but super early days so haven’t got anyone else to share this news with!

Your work will 100% understand, and even so, after two years, you're not exactly leaving them in the lurch!

My I had my first DC when I was freelance so didn't get any maternity package, and then two weeks ago I got made redundant (was PAYE) after being furloughed all summer so I'm back to being freelance again... and muggins falls pregnant! Really annoying as I could have done with a maternity package but never mind, looks like I'll be taking all of 5 minutes off again.

And yes totally agree I'm desperate to get to the point I can pay for a reassurance scan. I keep peeing on sticks to check i'm still pregnant, and it wasn't a dream or some freak of nature. Wondering if drinking too many cups of tea can make your pee trick the test into thinking you're pregnant. I know, I'm going mad.

I’ve wee’d on so so many sticks lol

Awful! I’m such a worrier. I get intermittent shooting pains left and right low down. Makes me worry!

Workingmummyof2soontobe3 · 24/09/2020 22:48

I’m dreading telling work too, I’ve been there just over a year and it’s not like I’ve done anything wrong but I feel really bad and especially in the current climate

Jinglebells87 · 25/09/2020 10:28

I'm glad we are all in the same boat! I've never taken so many pregnancy tests before. Last two kids, I took two and a clearblue and that was it. I've done 6 so far this time and saving my clearblue for sunday. Time is going so slowly! I found out so early and it is only today that my period should be showing up!
I'm not even calling my doctors for a few weeks because I called too early last time Grin. I wish I could tell everyone because I feel like I'm acting really weird around friends and family!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 25/09/2020 22:42

Hello guys! I'm like @septembersurprise and am due v end of may or start june. 12 week scan booked for 03/11 but I'm pretty sure that's nearer 10 weeks for me (periods were all over the place so the nhs dating is odd). First baby and I'm massively feeling anxiety that there is nothing I can really DO yet but wait. No proof I'm pregnant apart from positive tests and feeling crampy and burpy!

Somanyquestions111 · 26/09/2020 06:33

I’m still getting period type mild cramps intermittently at 5 weeks?

TheDaydreamBelievers · 26/09/2020 06:58

Me too @Somanyquestions111! Totally normal for early pregnancy

LadyHalesBroach · 26/09/2020 07:35

Me too @Somanyquestions111 if I wasn’t peeing on a pregnancy test every other day I’d have sworn AF was about to start.

OP posts:
Somanyquestions111 · 26/09/2020 07:57

Thank you so much everyone you’re all providing such reassurance. I worry it’ll progress to a MC? How would I know the difference? The cramps are really really mild and more of a dragging feeling that a cramp. Sometimes high up sometimes low down and very intermittent xx

Somanyquestions111 · 26/09/2020 20:45

Can’t win with me... panic when I do have symptoms and then when they stop I then worry something is up too lol

TheDaydreamBelievers · 26/09/2020 21:17

@Somanyquestions111 youd know if you miscarried because your tests would get fainter and youd bleed fresh red blood. (But bleeding alone doesnt necess mean miscarriage)

With all the kindness in the world, at this stage there is nothing you can do to prevent miscarriage. If it happens its typically because the egg and sperm combo just arent viable. All you can do is look after yourself and wait and see (and I know how hard that is! Honest!)
.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 26/09/2020 21:18

Also message to all - it is completely normal for symptoms to appear, go away, come back stronger, go away again all the way through pregnancy

Somanyquestions111 · 27/09/2020 15:38

Thanks guys. I’m such a worrier. I have a scan on 8th October booked but just massively wish I could have it sooner. I’ll be 6+6 then xx

TheDaydreamBelievers · 27/09/2020 18:19

I'm a worried too @Somanyquestions111! Was beside a campfire last night quietly googling "wood smoke early pregnancy" Grin (google says okay as long as it isnt every day)

I now have officially zero symptoms... but tests still getting stronger so... just gonna assume all is okay!

Somanyquestions111 · 27/09/2020 19:21

I’m glad I’m not the only none doing loads of tests and overly worrying. It’s such a horrid feeling tho isn’t it. I’m going to do one tomorrow then not let myself until Friday. I have nausea in the mornings a little but no other times and that worries me too xx

rosegoldivy · 27/09/2020 20:08

Hey ladies I'm going to jump on.
Still in a bit of shock if I'm honest, had taken a pregnancy test tonight to rule out being pregnant and low and behold it was positive (and very much a suprise) so still trying to wrap my head around it all!!
Honestly can't believe it.
Unsure about weeks exactly so out first thing to get a clear blue test that estimates how many weeks you are.
Reckon I can't be more than 3 or 4 weeks though.
So when this baby arrives we will have 2 under 2, no idea how we will cope with that!!

MotherOfCrocodiles · 28/09/2020 11:35

Hi all
Just found out on Saturday that I'm expecting DC3 on 3rd June. Pleased to see others on here expecting number 3, I don't know anyone with three kids IRL. Feels all a bit surreal as we only decided to go for it a few weeks ago - happened first time. My kids will be just-4 and 27 months when this one arrives (fingers crossed). I'm almost 40 and have quite a busy job and my house is too small for 3 kids in the long run (can afford extension but - hassle - will have to wait til they are a bit older I think). Having moments of wondering if I might have gone bonkers but I always wanted a livelier family and my kids have no cousins either.

No symptoms yet really so it feels a bit unreal but based on the last two I have about a week left til I start feeling like absolute hell so I should probably be getting ahead on my work not wasting time on here but there you go...!

Jinglebells87 · 28/09/2020 12:10

Congratulations @MotherOfCrocodiles! I don't have anyone within my close friends that have three kids so I feel a bit like an outsider too.
I'm due 4th June so our dates are very close!
I get the odd wave of nausea but my sense of smell has gone a bit crazy today. I'm literally locked in an office with 5 blokes and the smell of aftershave is turning my stomach!

MotherOfCrocodiles · 28/09/2020 12:13

Yeaurgh aftershave. Luckliy for me I am WFH, hopefully should make it a lot easier this time round as I usually do a lot of student facing work (University lecturer) and have had to run out of classes, and memorably a conference (but luckily not my own lecture!), to vom in my previous pregnancy.

Somanyquestions111 · 28/09/2020 12:17

So exciting guys welcome to the group! It’s so nice to have people to chat to at same stage especially as I haven’t told anyone else yet hah. I keep getting intermittent lower back pain but I think it’s positional but makes me paranoid. Occasional twinges on left then on right. Some clear discharge intermittently. 5+ 3 today. Baby number 3 for me too and I don’t remember ever being this worried before

Workingmummyof2soontobe3 · 28/09/2020 12:39

@MotherOfCrocodiles by my dates I’m due the same day as you. I have no symptoms at the min and feel great. Your comment about having a week left till you feel grim just brought me back to earth 🤣 I’m hoping it’s different this time but yeah from my last 2 I felt like hell from 6 to 14 weeks.

It happened on first try for me too so it felt a shock and I couldn’t help thinking I’d made a mistake. I feel better now though and have got used to it but I just keep forgetting I’m pregnant to be honest. Still haven’t told anyone so is nice to chat on here x

Somanyquestions111 · 28/09/2020 12:52

Congratulations

You’re so right it’s nice to be able to chat on here isn’t it! I just wanna be at the point I can tell people lol especially work

MotherOfCrocodiles · 28/09/2020 12:57

Argh I am dreading telling work even though I don't think my previous maternity leaves really put anyone out that much. But having little kids definitely means less work gets done, I'm a bit worried that people will think I'm pushing my luck going on with another one! I think everyone has assumed I am done and will be surprised I am having another one.

MotherOfCrocodiles · 28/09/2020 12:59

Also, I'm sure my BIL is going to mutter about overpopulation etc. Which is a bit ironic as part of the reason I wanted a third was that my children have will have no other family in their generation. No cousins etc.
