I bought some stuff from blooming marvellous and jojomamanbebe last night online with the discount codes from here. Was ludicrously excited about buying clothes that might look nice and be comfy for a while.

paranoidmummy · 12/10/2007 12:05

Thanks so much ellie, i will have a look over there. I have been perusing a few threads for a while, am just trying to remain positive about the hwole thing now and am finally allowing myself to get excited! Yay a baby

I can't splurge on any maternity wear yet as nov is a month for my sister's 21st followed by my ds's and dh's birthdays. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR, leaves no money left to be spent on treats for me! Got some basics tho as I have a huge bump! The same as i had at about 24 weeks with my first!!! Is this normal???? There's def only one in there!

WindUpBird · 12/10/2007 12:33

hpsaucey Here's a link to the Hypnobirthing UK site . There might be other sites out there, but I haven't come across them yet.

Kirbo · 12/10/2007 13:22

Finally got my first scan yesterday which was amazing - Lo was wrigging about like crazy which is weird as I can't feel a thing! Got round to telling the family which is great as they are all thrilled but now everyone is starting to give me 'friendly pregnancy advice'. My mum is telling one thing and then SIL is telling me another - all good fun at the moment but I'm sure it will drive me crazy in a couple of months time! Also had the first experience of someone touching my stomach - very strange. I don't go around touching peoples body parts without good warning!

lemonaid · 12/10/2007 13:34

This could be your chance... go in for a good grope when they touch your belly and they'll soon learn their lesson!

(Never had anyone touch my belly uninvited. I must be scarier than I think...)

Hello all,

Just had a bit of a day. DHs birthday as well! Had painful cramp like pains last night. Light bleeding a few days ago. Went to GP who referred me to hospital. The doc listened for the babys heart with one of those sonic aid things but couldnt hear anything. Although she said this could be because I am only 15 weeks I was still pretty nervous. Had a scan and all well. No explanation for the pains. Definately didnt have them with num 1 so reckon it may be from carrying DD (aged 2) around the place. Just glad all is well.

micegg · 12/10/2007 16:52

Just thought of something else. I went into Tesco yesterday and bought 3 tops for £5 each which will all do well as maternity wear. I would class myself as a bit of a fusspot when it comes to clothes so I am very pleased. Admittedly I had to hunt about but I am currently wearing a black polo neck with puffed sleeves which is long enough and big enough to see me through quite a few months. I have seen similar things for anout £30 on maternity wear websites. Might be worth a look for some of you.

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 12/10/2007 18:51

micegg could be a sign to take it a bit easier but I know its hard not to pick them up my DS is 3+4 and I still carry him down the stairs (they are really steep) and I know I really shouldnt!

As for someone touching by bump I wish! I had to stand up the whole way home on the bus the other night for about an hour problem with being big tobegin with people just think I am fat funny thing is although I am a big girl i dont carry weight on my top half its all bum and thighs so much so that I am a 22 on top with a size 38-40b but I suppose people just see me as all bum thighs and a massive belly (it has really grown) oh well!

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 12/10/2007 18:53

saying that i know that 22 is not small far from it but i was a size 30/32 on bottom up until a few months a go so a 22 is rather small in my eyes

PeachyFleshCrawlingWithBugs · 12/10/2007 19:02

I got accused of being 'dangerously obese' by the weighing MW on wednesday- even though she'd shrunk me by an inch (!?!) my BMI at 15 weeks was still not that huge at 26.3- and I have a chunky build too! Pre pg it was 24. And you know what, this baby is the first to have grown to match the dates I ahd so dieting is so not going to happen! (Should have told them I ws 13.5 2 years ago- what would they have written then, about to explode? LOL)

Soldiersmummy my Sister has a similar build to you and is finding she doesn't get the seats on bus etc- and she's due in a fortnight. It's silly poeple assuming, nothing more.

LoRayningNewtsAndFrogs · 12/10/2007 19:04

Ugh, I'm having a bit of a worry atm. I had a colposcopy and then a LEEP after CIN III cells detected on ym smear 6 months ago, my midwife and doc didnt seem too perturbed by it when I told them, but I got a letter today saying I need a smear next month (my check up smear) and psoted about it on the health topic, and now I'm scared

I really dont want cancer but I'm dreading being told to jeopardise my pregnancy. I cant get hold of the bloody colposcopy clinic, have been calling since 2pm, they shut at 5, and wont be open again til monday.

PeachyFleshCrawlingWithBugs · 12/10/2007 19:06

Lorayne (hugs) must be worrying- is there any other information line you could call? Is there a support charity or macmillan or something (macmillan ahve a line but not sure of the hours as volunteer manned)

Hope you find a way of getting info on this one

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 12/10/2007 19:20

Lorayne I do hope all is Ok x

Peachy god if she said your 'dangerously obese' i love her to met me! my BMI is 33 never mind!

chipmonkeyPumpkinNorks · 12/10/2007 19:27

Oh, Lorayn! That's all you need right now!

LoRayningNewtsAndFrogs · 12/10/2007 19:36

Well, I cant see my doctor and midwife saying absolutely nothing if it was going to be a big deal, surely?
I'm just gonna have to keep my thread bumped and hope someone else can help me, unfortunately it seems to be one of those threads no-one has any answers to

PeachyFleshCrawlingWithBugs · 12/10/2007 19:50

have a think about contacting AMcmillan- I KNOW you don't have cancer, just have had a risk scare but they'll still talk to you honestly (I used to work for them as a fundraiser / Secretary) and will be able to tell you who you can talk to over the weekend as well.

Piccalilli2 · 12/10/2007 20:51

LoRayning, I had Cin II and LEEP shortly before my last pregnancy and was due for a colposcopy to check everthing was OK when I was pregnant with dd - I was told to out off the coposcopy until after I had dd, had a smear at about 3 months postpartum and it was all fine and I've been fine ever since - in fact since having dd I've had the only clear smears of my life after two bouts of LEEP. I think it's highly unlikely they'll want you to do anything that might jeopardise the pregnancy, please try not to worry

Piccalilli2 · 12/10/2007 20:57

Also, just read your other thread - didn't want to get into a potential row there but CIN III is not cancer - it's serious and needs to be taken seriously but it's pre-cancerous cell changes not cancer.

eva07 · 13/10/2007 08:29

((((lorayn))))

positive · 13/10/2007 08:33

hi everyone,

sorry havent been around for a while, taken ages to catch up.
hope everyone is keeping well

LORYAN - i'm due yet another smear test but was told by doctor at ANC that they wouldnt do it while preg. Maybe you should ring the ANC and speak to MW/DR about it.

Yeh for maternity clothes,
its so nice to be able to wear trousers that are nice and comfy - I'm not showing yet just my normal jeans are starting to get too tight and cant stand them buttoned up!!

good vibes and positive thoughts

PeachyFleshCrawlingWithBugs · 13/10/2007 09:18

Lorayne hope you have found some comfort today.

I'm definitely showing now- after people worrying me about the size of the baby and then finding out he's OK, I seem to have developed a sizeable bump LOL! Dh thinks its very cool. Last night as well baby had a kicking spell that I could feel externally- I didn't tell Dh until after (he ahs to wait his turn) but this one is no weakling! 16 weeks tomorrow- another 4 and i'll be halfway there! have a buggy and crib now (albeit still in deliver boxes) as the onesthat suited us were cheap at babies r us.

TheMaskedPoster · 13/10/2007 09:30

hello all

Gosh what a lot of posts - will have to have a real catch up later.

(((lorayn))) thinking of you and hope you get some answers soon - you certainly don't need that weighing on your mind now. xx

and

((micegg)) - take it easy, feet up and a nice cup of something soothing.

got some of my old maternity trousers on today - but they are still too big (I was slightly bigger for the last pregnancy), however is lovely to be comfy. Speaking of Maternity wear, I am going to pop into Benetton today - they have some nice and reasonable stuff in there atm .

Got some sanatogen pregnancy vitamins (with omega3) and am now waiting for my brain to return - lol.

DD is ever so sweet and kisses my belly every morning to say good morning to 'beanie' - tis lovely.

Well, hope everyone is keeping well and have a nice weekend.

x tmp

TheMaskedPoster · 13/10/2007 09:33

OH and watching the 'buggies from birth - the great debate' thread with interest as we are still deciding which one to get (the last one we had was M&P - waste of time and money). Also we are going to the Baby show next weekend to see what delights they are on offer too!

gailmum · 13/10/2007 10:30

Hello everyone - really excited about my growing bump! I have just found a brilliant tool which calculates how much weight you should be gaining whilst pregnant. My sister was totally paranoid about putting on too much weight while preggas (her craving was for chocolate!) it is on gurgle.com
Has anyone had any weird cravings yet?
